This place does have good therapists, and got me off alcohol. I feel 100% better and feel better about life. Once you leave Harbor Village, they're still concerned about your recovery and will answer any other questions you have. The staff is polite, but you have to follow the rules which is understandable. This place like ALL rehabs have patients who are not happy to be there, but you have to ignore that, help each other if you can, and focus on the many positive things you can leave with after a stay at Harbor Village. The food was good plus plentiful with polite staffing. They keep you pretty busy with classes and one on one discussions Mon-Fri, which is good. On the weekends you have a few classes, but you are given more down time, plus they take you on some excellent fun field trips. I recommend this place for those who really want to get sober. I don't even know where to begin with my experience at Harbor Village in Miami, FL. I spent nine days there for medical detox, and the conditions were far below what I expected from a healthcare facility. The building felt consistently unclean -- I saw insects, the floors and walls looked dirty, and the bathroom had no mats, making it feel unsafe and slippery. Trash sat for long periods without being emptied, and the room and bathroom were rarely, if ever, swept or mopped. The issues extended to shared areas as well. Utensils were left out in the open, and food service practices didn't appear to follow basic hygiene standards. I often noticed staff serving food without gloves or hair coverings, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Medically, I felt overlooked. My vitals were taken inconsistently, and the readings recorded didn't match what I actually experienced. When I asked about CIWA scoring, the explanations I received didn't inspire confidence, yet scores were still assigned. On top of that, my psychiatric medications were repeatedly given at doses lower than what I'm prescribed, even after I explained the issue multiple times. My anxiety was noticeably worse during my stay, and my blood pressure dropped significantly once I left. Overall, my experience left me feeling neglected, dismissed, and deeply frustrated. I was recently discharged from harbor village 6/5/2026....upon accepting me Delray medical informed them of my medical condition,,,I had ran out a supplies but advised medical pre hand that I had needed more.... decided to go to hospital because I needed a catheter inserted because without it I would have urinary retention..affecting my kidneys.....it took 2 weeks to get supplies...upon release they refused to give the supplies ordered strictly for me trying to send me home with 3 straight catheters in which I insert myself every 4 hrs to with draw the urine that still filled my bladder ...I had to remove the bag tonight because it was leaking while at a meeting and due to not having the supplies needed I have to go to the ER again.....their running on the bear minimum...[[HIGHLIGHT]]they good staff members techs,and case managers and theripest are the best but over worked and probably under paid ....[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]thank God I've been incarcerated most of my life that I can deal with I humanly environments.. but for those that may need a more structured treatment center harbor village is t the place for you.but all in all it's a safe place shelter wise...I don't know who the lady was that was advising tech Micky and the other guy but she said I couldn't get my property,,,refused to get me transportation home and refused to give me my medical supplies are successfully completing residential with the discharge date of 06/05/2026....it's now 06/10/2026....in a sober living house in which my aunt had to Uber me to from harbor village,,I sit on the porch waiting to go to ER.gonna have to take a buddy cause I really feel like relapsing having to go back to ER.... It was terrible!!!! DON'T GO!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, I arrived in a NEW state (I am from Texas) to a detox facility via Uber only to be ignored for hours. I was sat down in the office by one employee, then 2 more came in and asked me to leave!!! I sat for quite some time without interaction. Hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made calls, I drank, etc. Upon admitting, I was told my roommate was unstable, depressed and messy (Ummmm....probably keep that to yourself!!! She was easy to room with!!!) Then, I came to realize, this place wasn't for me when, the following day (as per scheduled) I asked where yoga was being held and was told that the instructor "...is around here somewhere. We will find him and let you know". AKA- THERE IS NO YOGA AND THEY LIED TO MY FACE. These are things I spoke with people at length for before being admitted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]By day 2, I was set - I knew this wasn't the place for me since on day 1 I was ignored and my meeting people consisted of going under a covered area with picnic tables and meeting people who made me feel extremely uncomfortable. One of the first people I met was far too close for comfort, then looked at me and did a "jack-off" motion, as he thought I was not looking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]​ A jack off motion, with quite an explosion!!! Look, I am NO PRUDE BY ANY MEANS, BUT I DESERVE TO BE RESPECTED!!! So, I arrived on a Sunday, which was a horrible experience, I gave them a chance on Monday, which was another horrible experience, and I met my counselor, Lindsey. Come Tuesday, I made it clear that would be happy to detox there, but by the loud and lively party music happening from moment 1, to the uncomfortable circumstances I had to endure, I would be leaving to seek treatment elsewhere. She tried AND TRIED AND TIRED AND TRIED to get me to see things differently, BUT THIS IS ALL ABOUT ME!¡!¡! HOW I WANTED TO BE TREATED AND TO SEEK TREATMENT IS ABOUT ME, AND MAKE NO MISTAKE- YOUR TREATMENT IS ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!! DONT FORGET IT! At this point, let me be clear: this IS MY treatment. I know what I want in a facility and what will benefit me, and I am quite clear that parties aren't beneficial to someone trying to get on track and feel good about themselves. This place WASN'T FOR ME!!! HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE BEING VOID OF AN ACTUAL CAPACITY FOR REAL LIFE, GO HERE. EVERYONE AND I MEAN EVERYONE WAS ALL HANDS-ON-DECK AT THIS POINT. FROM THE PEOPLE THAT I HAD MET, TO THOSE I DIDN'T - THEY DID ALL IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE ME STAY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Violating my rights as a citizen, kidnapping, while claiming they only were "trying to protect me". They said if I was unhappy, I could leave...they were "only trying to protect me", so please explain how I am incredibly uncomfortable and I am "welcome to leave", but you're "trying to protect me", when I am unable to arrange proper care???? You are not allowed to have a conversation about transferring your care to another provider???? Ohhhh, but they WANT YOU TO BE SAFE??? SO, "You are welcome to leave" without your ID, without being in a state or location that you know, without your phone, your credit cards, etc???? If only they had paid so much attention to me at intake, they would have seen that I had a Firestick, and I could have snuck in any substance that I wanted. Fortunately, that was not my goal, and unfortunately, the Firestick did little good to ensure my well being with a 2 factor authentication on my sign-ins without my phone present. My detox wouldn't be complete until Saturday, and your privacy is stripped, ensuring that you have NO ONE AND NOTHING TO RELAY ON. Come Thursday, a woman that I met who had been moved to the 30-day residency, had returned stating, "It wasn't for me - they are all paired up over there". With the music still blasting nightly. On the days between Wednesday and when I left, I set off the alarm, called the cops, my boyfriend in Texas, knew to call too due to trigger words. The cops showed up, but were intercepted by Erica, but more than that, [[HIGHLIGHT]]ERIC was a nightmare. He would listen into conversations with my family and use words they said to try to entice and manipulate me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And though my detox wouldn't be completely done until Saturday, on Friday at 8PM THEY ATTEMPTED TO MOVE ME TO RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT KNOWING THAT MY DETOX HAD NOT BEEN COMPLETED AND KNOWING I ONLY WANTED TO LEAVE!!!!! But not allowing me to arrange further appropriate care!!!!!! I DIDN'T GET OUT TIL THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY THANKS TO SAFE WORDS AND SOMEONE HEARING!!!! Harbor Village was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I came in seeking help but ended up feeling more depressed by the day. I barely came out of my room, and instead of getting proper care or support, I was given random medication that only made things worse. When I told them I wanted to leave because I felt emotionally worse than when I arrived, they refused to let me go. I asked multiple times to sign the "72-hour" release paper -- which, to my knowledge, I'm legally allowed to do since I wasn't court-ordered there -- but my therapist repeatedly declined and ignored my requests I don't blame the therapist I blame Erick because he is the one telling everyone what to do he is very manipulative and evil .There was no genuine concern for my well-being. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only staff who seemed to care were Keith and another man whose name I didn't catch also tee and dayja were very helpful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .The rest just let me deteriorate mentally, and it felt like no one was really there to help. Not only was my experience bad, but I witnessed others go through the same emotional neglect. My roommate was there for two weeks and was clearly ready to leave back to her home with her husband yet they wouldn't let her. She broke down crying, begging to go home, which that is emotional abuse .After she left, my next roommate also wanted to leave after detoxing, but they manipulated her with vague explanations about the "72-hour" hold, refusing to give her a straight answer. There just holding people hostage and there stuff .They even blocked her from contacting other rehabs and forced her to return home, making her or her mom pay for the flight. It's clear this place cares more about keeping beds full for profit than helping people heal. They promised yoga, meditation, and real recovery support -- none of that was real. On top of everything, I left with missing items, important documents gone, and a broken suitcase. Also just one last thing Erick stopped me from calling my boyfriend that I've had for 2 years now and was my only emotional support he declined me from calling him just because I said I wanted to leave .Harbor Village was a disaster, and I would never recommend it to anyone. On top of that they were many roaches in the bathroom my sheets never got changed while I was in detox I had to change my own sheets while I was feeling down and shitty . Everything in the one star reviews is spot on. My roommate was having sex with a woman while I was in the room. Multiple times. And this was in detox. Not even residential which is still not allowed. Everyone knew and he had been there before and did the same thing. The staff caught them together and called him a predator because they knew him from before. Didn't get kicked out. Still banged his married girlfriend. They smoked crack in the open and finally he had to leave. In detox! I watched two people overdose while I was there. And once again this was in detox! No actual medical supervision. They literally trap homeless people there. I understand taking everyone's stuff. But to then hold it hostage is super fucked up. But if you want any kind of drug you can get it. So if you want to learn about shit you never heard about before. Florida is the place! Just make sure nobody tries to eat your face off while on flaka. Yeah. You learn something new everyday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tec Kieth was the best! Really cared about everyone! PLEASE CHOOSE THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED A WEEK (or a month) IN HELL!! This place is far beyond a sham...it is truly a frightening place to be...ninety percent of what is on their website is complete BS....I spent 5 miserable days in the filthiest of conditions....the website says private or semi-private rooms and has pictures of clean rooms with pillows and comforters and this and that (complete crap).....I was placed in a filthy 10x12 room with the nastiest beds you could ever imagine.....the mattresses were so covered in mold, feces, urine and vomit that they were black in color....the bedding was soiled....the pillows were miserable and the bathroom shared by 6 men was covered in filth...this 10x12 room had 3 twin beds which were always full....the total occupants including roaches and other such creatures is hard to quantify as they scurried around constantly....I struggle to believe that they could pass any health inspection....I was on the detox side....the website states BS about family involvement and use of phone (garbage, on the detox side you are not allowed your phone for the first seven days), after that as you wait for a bed in residential I was told you could use it in the presence of your therapist.....the website states that they have a gym (they don't), they have a chef (they don't) the food is below jail quality.....NEVER...I MEAN NEVER make a decision to go to this place.....I was fooled into going there while I was intoxicated and didn't do research beyond looking at the website and their reviews (Please take a look at their website...there is not one picture that is remotely accurate....Please look at the reviews on their website....all 5 star... the men's outdoor dorm area should be torn down or condemned)....I paid for my own flight to live in this squalor (I intend to fight the promissory note I entered into for my flight). All of this seems pretty bad, but I haven't even touched on the safety aspect. There is no safety there!! Fifty percent of the people there are chasing sobriety and enduring the terrible conditions to get help. The other fifty percent are there because they are forced there or for other reasons. This clientele can be a rough, disrespectful, unsupervised group of people who aren't seeking sobriety and have nothing to do all day. They are left all day to basically smoke, talk trash and do nothing. There are usually 2 to 3 techs working per shift and they are usually female (there are 5 nurses but they are not allowed to help with anything not related to medical). The population is 80 percent male. While I was there, I personally witnessed intimidation, fights or near fights, bullying, harassment, drug use (yes, drug use...was offered drugs and actually saw them taken by client). They are able to bring them in because the clothing checks are dismal, and a person could sneak just about any kind of drug in. Beware!! Once you check yourself in there they own you for ATLEAST 72 hours (they tell you that you could leave but you would not be given your wallet or phone so good luck to you....PS this location is not in the best part of town.....you sign and they take your phone and wallet.....by the second day I was there I demanded that my 72 hours start.....it was hell....I literally on Friday morning waded through the flooded street to get to an Uber. My takeaways: -Don't drink or you may foolishly place yourself in these conditions -Never believe a website or a person on the phone -I am sober and this miserable experience has made me think twice every time I have a craving -The Clinical staff at this location are EXCELLENT....they truly do seem to care, and I wish that they could work in a place that was not such an abomination. Final Thought....I have documented twenty percent of the horrible things I witnessed and endured....I will be sending a more articulate copy of this to the Health Department, Zinnia Health and to any other regulating authorities that are in charge of inspecting these places. I pray for the people who are stuck there and who will continue to get tricked by the phone calls and the website. But, it's not like you get much time with them anyways because there is 1 of each for about 30 people. It's a money racket and they do not care about your well being at all. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!!! Stay away from awful harbor village!!!!!!!!! My loved one was sent here a couple months ago and this is how it went and has gone so far. First, they pretty much what feels like abducted him. In less than 2 days they got him on a plane and sent him across the state and isolated him (which i guess can be normal) but they don't let you even know if he has made it there safely before they take away all his rights and belongings. (Keep in mind they were VERY helpful in getting him there.... We got ALL help we needed to get him there because they just want his money) Next, getting in contact with any kind of case manager, nurse, or to even leave a message is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So for almost a month i could not even check on him to see how things were even going or if he was even alive! Now he finally got dismissed (10 days early btw?) they send him back home and we are trying to get information on this medication THEY PRESCRIBED HIM and the nurses are intentionally picking up the phone and hanging up on us!! They don't even have the decency to tell us they can't help us!! They are just picking up the phone and hanging up! It's insane!!! Absolutely no after patient help. And from what my husband explains they lied the whole admission part and said he was going to be alone in a cozy room with tv and he ended up with roommates that don't bathe and piss on themselves. He didn't like any of the nurses he said they were all extremely rude the entire time and now he feels lower than ever because we can't get any help with this medication..... So thanks for nothing harbor village.. like other patients have stated i hope a hurricane blows this place off the map because it's absolutely the worst place to get "help" from. Absolute joke. My loved one admitted himself here to get off of methadone he started detox there March 31st, I have only heard from him one time. After a week they moved him to residential and I was told he can call Mondays and Thursdays. Monday has passed and still no word. You cannot get thru using any phone number either. He's fully detoxed from the methadone he should be able to call and even come home now, but he said they have to make the decision that he's rdy or they won't pay for the plane ticket back. He only taking a multi vitamin, not on any meds, said he feels fine. Not sure why it's so bad to use your phone and talk to your loved ones, this is crazy. He has no mental illness and drug addiction he just needed help detoxing from methadone so he doesn't have to go to the local mat clinic, wondering why he can't be released other than they want to make money off him smh, this place is nothing like they say they are it's all a money scam read more

Great place!! I owe my life to them!! The staff were awesome, food was great, beautiful layout, counselors & therapists were so helpful and compassionate!! I would refer Harbor Village to anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues to get their life together and to get the help they need & deserve! I was in a dark place from Massachusetts and I refused to go to Florida for treatment but it was the best decision I've ever made. I left by ambulance and had to walk back to the facility in socks. Then, I was sent back walking to hospital for discharge papers. Hospital treated my appendicitis and infectus diarrhea that is highly contagious and running rampant at Harbor village. I was off morphine for two hours and expected to perform. I was made to sit outside facility while they collected my belongings. Divine was supposedtogive me back my paperworkfrom hospitalbut he drove off as did Eric. I had to wait aroundfor Dr to find them. I did not get any of my clothes or cash I brought with me. I finally made it home after a wreck, 10 hours of driving after getting lost many times as I was not fit to drive. I had no choice but to try and get home. I have called and called to get my belongings and no one answers the phone. Please investigate prior to entering. You are placed on a 72 hour hold if you want to leave for any reason. They keep your possessions hostages 72 hours. I was so sick I put in my 72 hours and it was up when I got out of hospital and Eric tried to tell me it started over.im trying to speak with David the director about my belongings they kept. I decided that I needed to get some help and called the 800 number. The man on the phone told me that it was an amazing facility with top of the line therapy and treatment. He told me that not only would I be getting the best help available but that there were amazing amenities as well. I was excited. Upon arriving I was locked inside of a small entry way. No one was kind and welcoming. They immediately came out and covid tested me and then proceeded to watch me urinate and had me bend over with my pants off. it felt like prison. I had asked about the private rooms that they mentioned on their website and I was told there was no such thing. I was put into a room with 2 other women and shared a bathroom with 4 women total. Upon awakening, a woman came into my room through the bathroom completely naked and was bragging about how a male was in her room the night before and how she had had sex with him on the property multiple times. The techs and staff do not do their jobs there. People are allowed to have relationships there and display public affection. The food was horrible - they fed us powdered eggs for breakfast and the lunches and dinners were not healthy and disgusting. They cancelled meetings for the patients constantly and we basically just sat in the dirty courtyard smoking all day and the patients were allowed to blast music, making it impossible to relax. I asked to leave and they kept avoiding me. i was stuck there for 5 days. I asked to call my boyfriend and they told me I could not because I wanted to leave. He called to speak to me and they told him that I did not want to speak with him. He then threatened them with the police and our lawyer and they started on my transfer to a much nicer facility. There was no pool, no gym, no spa, and no hair/nail salon. The rooms were left unattended and the video cameras in them did not work. The call boxes on the wall were hanging out of the wall with wires showing - obviously not in working condition. I was threatened by a female patient that shared my room there and instead of moving her out of my space they put me in a living quarter with a male patient. I was there for 5 days and did not speak to a therapist once and only was able to attend 3 meetings as they cancelled all the rest. I participated in a yoga class in the courtyard while male patients were allowed to sit outside and stare at me the whole time. When my transfer paperwork was complete, a technician came up to me and said " I guess the little princess threw her tantrum and got her way. Are you happy now?" They also proceeded to tell me that me wanting to leave the facility was the reason I was never going to be able to succeed at treatment. On the day that I was leaving treatment, another tech was very rude to me and told me that I needed to get my sh*t and get the fu*k out now. I have never felt so unsafe, disturbed and traumatized. During my 5 days there I witnessed several clients leave against medical advice because they were horrified with the staff, cliental, and program (or lack there of) there. I'm happy to announce that I was transferred to an amazing facility and completed my entire treatment there. It was so great that I even asked for an extension and was granted one. I'm home and in an IOP program and going to meetings and doing well. I would like to mention that a lot of the things on the website are not accurate. The pics, the amenities mentioned, etc. It is in a terrible neighborhood and we had bars on our windows. The beach is no where near this place. Update: After my negative review of this place a couple weeks ago I had some woman immediately contact me. I didn't answer her first couple calls and texts so she proceeded to call and text another 20 times, literally, over the next 2-3 days. It was really unsettling. Flash forward, and I got a bill for $22,000 from Harbor Village yesterday. Apparently thats what my insurance would not cover. Mind you, the woman I was in contact with for 4 weeks before I flew out there, said that they accepted Aetna and she had confirmed I was covered and that the only money I would owe would be the plane ticket they helped me buy to get out there. If you are considering this facility based on the info listed on their website, or the description given by a referral agency, keep looking! I fell for the hype after speaking with a representative & signed myself in this past July. Everything I was told, gourmet food, small group sizes, lots of one on one time with a therapist, private rooms, etc., was all BS! Besides the food being horrible, the most disappointing thing for me was that there was very limited one on one time with your therapist. At best it was 1 hour a week if even at all. Many group therapy sessions were disrupted due to some drama with some of the residents or the group facilitator not having control. I like my drama on TV or watching a movie, not when I'm trying to save my life! Without getting into too much detail I had a situation arise while I was a resident where I was sent to the emergency room. I had a negative reaction to medications prescribed by the Dr on staff. I contacted a staff member stating that I felt the facility should be responsible for their actions and cover the charges for the visit. I was basically told that it was my fault. I was expecting them to practice what they preach...being honest and taking responsibility for your actions. I guess that only applies to residents and not to the facility read more

I was there in January into February 2016. I am 62 and disabled. Day one they had a wheelchair available. Day two they had me a brand new one. They took care of all my wants and needs. They made sure I could partipate in all outings. Staff where great. I had gone to another facility in Florida one year before. Only lasted 5 months sober. Now sober a little over 13 months. My daughter was there for less than 1 week and then we transferred her to another faciity in another state. Her cell phone (iPhone 5) and most of her clothers (except for what she was wearing and a few other items) were taken upon intake and now are no where to be found. Cody, the facility manager, has stopped returning my phone calls and cleary has no intention of looking for or returning my daughter's things. This is a scam facility and I suggest you look VERY carefully before you even consider this as an option. I have contacted my local police (since I live out of state) and am in the process of filing charges of theft against this facility. They also did NOTHING to help my child during the week that she was there. read more

My friend Sara from NJ went here last month - she spent about a week in detox for drugs. She said the experience wasn't as bad as she thought - they had yoga, meditation, and really good food. She said there were a lot of females on staff and they were really good ppl who were also in recovery. Overall - she said it was probably the most comfortable program she had been in. read more

This place is horrible. My daughter just left the facility. They kept her ID and all of her things and won't release them. She was wandering around Florida homeless. They won't talk me or her fiance about any of it. They just hang up on us. There were also residents using in the house. read more

My loved one just couldn't stay sober and he was refusing to go anywhere to get help. We finally got him into harbor village and we couldn't be happier, he is a new person!!! My mother was in this facility for a full day before they notified to come get her because "she wasn't acting right". This messed up facility say they have medical staff that takes care of patients but don't know the signs of a STROKE. I am still waiting for her belongings that we supposed to be mailed to me over three weeks ago. I have nothing! My mother died last week, May 2, 2017 from the stroke she suffered in this facility. Had they taken her next door to the hospital she would be here today. Think about this before you place your loved ones here. They will not take responsibility. read more

I have been 10 months alcohol free since leaving Harbor Village, this not a fake review, I stayed there a little over a month an although I was extremely home-sick the first two-weeks I stuck it out and I am glad I did. I had been to two other facilities before HV and neither worked for me, HV was intensive inpatient treatment on a daily basis, which can be annoying at times, especially when your tired from a long day of group sessions. I had no problem with food and eventually was able to have a private room in the house because of seniority, I meet a lot of nice people, techs like Steve and Mr. Terry helped me feel as normal as possible being so far away from home. BTW NO POOL! But we did have fun excursions on the weekend, such as go-carts, tour of the everglades, and the beach and movie trips. I did not like the fact that they would sometimes combine the adult group (30+) and the young group together because we would always clash. Many people did like the feeling of being "policed" but if we could get sober on our own we wouldn't need to watched as we are during our time there. I was very please with my stay. with all of everyday life anywhere things can always be better .some people complained about little stuff. but what I went there for was achieved. I am now healthy and sober thanks to the well informed staff. I'm 63 and was the oldest client at the time but most of the techs were older and I learned a lot from them and made some friends with other clients who really helped me.. I recently received phones calls from Harbor Village asking me how I was doing. its great to no that they do care after months of being discharged. 1 star is because they don't have zero or -5 stars. I agree with Brian L. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!! Or anyone else. I can't say it enough. I sent my son here. He has special dietary needs which I inquired about and made sure they could accomodate before sending him, which of course they said was no problem. Once there they had nothing he could eat and made no provisions for him. He spoke to them and they said they would make sure they had food for him next day and never did. Went three days without food before an orderly who felt bad for him started bringing him a sandwich a day. Thank god my son was alert enough to ask questions and know what was going on as they tried to give him suboxone more than once and he was NOT there for heroin. He was there for alcohol. We also had an incident where something went wrong and his BP bottomed out and he was rushed to the ER. I called several times that day to check on him as I didn't hear from him and I was never told there was an emergency with him and he was taken to the hospital. I didn't find out till my son was released from the hospital and able to call us. As soon as I found this out I called to say I wanted him released and the director repeatedly avoided our phone calls and they were trying to keep him against ours and his wishes. I got my son back after 10 days and he was emaciated, down 20lbs.. This place is all about the money and does not care about your kids or their sobriety. I can't say it enough. Plus your kid will be reluctant to speak freely to you as they always have someone there monitoring their calls. I didn't find out the full extent of what was going on there until he was home. Just received 2 bills from Harbor Village $24,067 and $67,498 for a 30 day pre-authorized stay that was over a year ago and yes there was insurance coverage. We were told that the only money that would be owed would be the plane fare. Oh and I know that you will find this as a surprise - when I call the number on the bill I get a recording to leave a message or send an email - do you think I have gotten a response to either??? I am happy with Harbor Village. The staff were friendly and the community was good. They really focus on not only introducing you into sobriety and recovery, but giving you continuing care once you leave. We attended meetings, meet with our case managers to focus on our treatment plans, and attended a variety of groups. I had to chance to work on my core issues. This place was absolutely horrible! In a desperate attempt to help my Fiancé get clean/sober, we got her into treatment here. Our insurance company paid for 30 days...and off she went. The facilities were terrible and continued to get worse phase by phase. She contracted ringworm while there. She told me stories of a girl who gave 5 residents HIV. She told me stories of the sexual activity taking place. My "fiancé came home and was worse off than ever. They allowed her to play the "victim" role the entire time and she learned absolutely nothing. However, she did start a new intimate relationship while there. Any facility that allows patience to prey on one another while in a weak/manipulative state of mind is a disgrace. I've been clean/sober for 5 years, and can tell you that you shouldn't waste your money at this place. I can't think of anything good to say about this place. Everything that I experienced as a family/friend/loved and everything that she experienced while being there was bad. read more

This place was an absolute nightmare. When I got there..there had been at least five to six fights within five days of me being there. On the treatment side people were hopping the fence at night going to cop drugs. When I told the owner he didn't even care and was angry at me for telling. All of my clothes, chi straightener, expensive curling iron and makeup, my 150$ vape was stolen. It was awful experience. It was brand new so they were not experienced at all. The counselors and staff had no idea what they were doing. The clients are treated poorly. I asked to do laundry and it wasn't done until five days later and they lost some of my clothes. The food isnt horrible. They try to make it healthy and gourmet but th e food is never fully cooked all the way. Every day. The eggs are drippy and really runny. I ate chicken once and I looked at it halfway in..and found out it was raw and had little worms in it. So I drank ensure the rest of the time. They also bought me a plane ticket to fly me there..and once I completed my time they would not fly me back home. They did this with every person in the facility. Once I tried to leave..they would not give me my belongings back .they refused. I asked for four days. They still wouldn't until I threatened to call the police. They wouldn't let me make phone calls. It was very unorganized and a complete flop. I suggest never going to this place. The detox was the worst one I've ever been to. I'd rather be in jail again than ever have to go back there. I do not want harbor village to respond to this post because all you will do is lie about everything and try to justify all you've done wrong. Do not reply to this post please. read more
