What a good find... This area was not on my radar at all. We simply wanted to visit a friend in the area that was moving and she recommended staying here over the nearby hotel chains. This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to get away for some relaxation without all the heavy tourist activity, etc. It is quiet and has everything you need. There is a pool, beach access and other amenities, plus, there are a few restaurants (with bars) nearby. The rooms are comfy and are supplied with a fridge, microwave, dishes, etc. The hotel offers a great view whether you are on the bay side or not. If you are looking for something to do in the area then Bradenton, Tampa and St. Petersburg are nearby with a plethora of activities and sites to meet everyone's desires. Lastly, there is complimentary parking with your stay in a protected garage area assigned by the building you are staying. The check in/out staff was friendly and informative. Please note: Currently they don't attend to the rooms every day with the pandemic. However, if there is anything you need...just let them know and they will get it to you, handle it, take care of it, etc. A "con" is that one elevator was not working when we were there and the working elevator is slow. Please note, you press the button to "call it", the light may go off and the doors won't open...you need to press the button again to open or else you'll find yourself standing there wondering what is going on. Strange I know, but it is what it is. The broken & slow elevator issue can be frustrating if you are in a hurry, exhausted, etc...so be prepared! Plus, you are supposed to keep your distance from folks with the pandemic, however, some folks ignore that and pile in. With one elevator broken and the other running slow...things like this happen. Oh...and I'm still not sure why there is a "resort fee" when the amenities they have come free with other hotels, but perhaps I missed something spectacular. Personal note: Beds and pillows are ok, but if you are driving in I'd bring my own pillow. It's great the rooms have ceiling fans...woot! Why Only One Star?...... Because Mold in a $200.00 plus a night suite is unacceptable. The Townhouse, while nicely appointed (we had a townhouse at the Inn part of the resort on Destiny Drive) is in considerable disrepair. There is mold in the shower... A LOT of mold. The shower curtain is torn and off the hooks, and both bedrooms have vertical blinds with several missing slats and one wouldn't close all the way. Upon our arrival the key wouldn't open the front door and we had to wait on the porch for 20 minutes in the cold for maintenance technician to arrive. Not a way we wanted to start off a wedding weekend. Let's hope they come clean the mold away tomorrow See photos. Worst of all...... NOT ACCESSsaBLE and nobody told us. The tub is tall and difficult to get into (for elderly or mobility impaired). Have to climb two flights of stairs to get to front door, then up another flight to get to the bedroom. Please Note: This review is for the Inn at Little Harbor. The Harborside Suites is a sister property next to the Inn. Since there isin't a Yelp page for the Inn, I'm posting my review here. The Inn at Little Harbor wasn't exactly our first choice. We stayed at the Inn by default. Initially, we had planned to get a hotel in Tampa since our friends already live in the city. When we scheduled our trip in January, we didn't anticipate the National Football Championship. As a result of the Nationals, the task of finding a hotel in Tampa proper was proving to be a disaster. All hotels in the vicinity were charging 2-3x their average rate which practically priced us out of all hotels in the area. To save on costs, we had to look outside of Tampa to get a reasonable deal. In doing so, we found an ideal getaway in Ruskin with The Inn. As we were on our search for the perfect hotel getaway, we knew we wanted it to provide us with the following amenities: -Beach front property -Has a pool and spa -Restaurants and bars within walking distance -Free parking -Free wifi -Cable -Under $160/night We got that plus more at the Inn! The inn is a two story property with the right side overlooking the marina. We reserved a King junior suite on the marina side. The junior suites have a kitchenette upgrade with balcony. (Note: The balcony is only offered on the 2nd floor.) Our room was spacious and clean. I was told the Inn had undergone an upgrade in recent years and it definitely shows. (See attached pics). Their upgraded kitchenette has a microwave, stove, mini fridge (unstocked), and a dishwasher. The kitchenette also carries fully stocked cupboards complete with cutlery, dishes, and glassware! There's dish soap and a dishwasher tab for your convenience too! This is perfect for people that plan to go for long stays and/or for those who like save money and cook versus eat out. The only minor issue we had was obtaining the wifi in our room. The front desk never told us how to obtain it. We ended up calling the hotel operator hours later. They then prompted us to locate the router behind the TV and reset it. Easy fix right? They couldn't tell us this before we got to our room? Again, minor front desk issue but still an essential thing to mention to your guests. The big draw here was their private beach and marina. The beach is divided where part of it is open to the public. The private section of the beach (for hotel guests only) is to the left; closed off by ropes. We got a chance one night to catch a sunset there and it was absolutely breathtaking! In the end, we were happy to stumble across the Inn and if you want to get away and venture off the beaten path, visit this hidden gem in Ruskin, FL. read more

Really nice place to stay without all the normally busy tourist spots. I have been asked several times "vacationing in Ruskin?" Yes in Ruskin, a short distance to all the tourist attractions in and around Tampa bay or any of the other towns plus you get a resort location just off a private beach. This resort has three clean pools and two spas. The only downside is the lack of restaurants and retail outlets but that is what makes it a unique resort that doesn't have the tourist trap feel. Great place to relax. Just be aware that the resort charges an extra $40 per day above what you pay on any online service. Not the greatest value but the place is worth the cost. read more

My boyfriend and I took a vacation here from Maine. We loved it!! Very clean, great staff, plenty to do. The food was great, only complaint is breakfast doesn't start until 8am. That was a little late since we had to hit the road early in the a.m. We sat on the beach most of the day. The water was very warm and you can see a great view of St Petersburg and Tampa. We took advantage of the jet skis. One thing to note, we spent hundreds of dollars on cocktails at the bar. 12hrs of continuous drinking and we didn't get drunk. The cocktails obviously contain the bare minimum alcohol! LOL. Definitely worth it. The place is beautiful. I would go again! read more

BEYOND AWFUL!!!!! Stayed here after reading an article that it was one of the top hotels to stay in in the area and it literally could not have been any worse. We got an email saying we got complimentary breakfast buffet for two per day as on of our VIP deals. So we asked at the front desk where it was and when. We went the next morning and the waitress said no that's actually tomorrow. So we had to pay for our breakfast; not a huge loss. However, we went as told the next day and our waiter told us we needed a voucher for it. After calling the hotel at breakfast we found out we should have received 30 dollars worth of resort credit every day we stayed. We had already been there for three days and only had one left, not to mention we had already spent well over 100$ on meals at the resort. In addition all of the kitchen utensils in our room were covered in dust and there was a gross used condom over by the hot tub. Yet, we decided to give the pool another chance the next night. After a day of the town we got home pretty late at night but decided to see about the pool. A resort map the hotel gave us said "all pools open until 11 pm. " it was only 10. Within two minutes of getting in the pool a guy showed up on a golf cart and told us we had to get out and the pool closed at 10. The sign outside the pool did say 10 and we went to try another pool that we knew said 11. Unfortunately the hot tub had about 10 adults over two in the hot tub and a pool full of obnoxious teens. We gave up and called it a night. Later we asked the staff and she said oh that's a different hotel all together that's why. Then be straightforward and don't list those pools on your hotels amenities if it's not the same hotel. I feel that this hotel was very misleading and did not at all live up to our expectations. It is too far from the popular Florida attractions and we will never recommend this hotel to anyone or will we ever be visiting again. read more

Very nice hotel and condos in Little Harbor. The owners are just now releasing some of the hotel units to be able to be sold as condos. There are 3 buildings, A, B, and C. They are 5 stories tall and have great views of the open water. The penthouses are 2 stories and on the 4th and 5th floors. There are also studio units with kitchenettes, 1 bedrooms units with full kitchens, and other floor plans to choose from. They have a very nice pool area and work out area. The building is kept very clean, and all of it is very well maintained. Parking gates control who can enter the ground level parking areas. A pool and gym membership is available for $50 monthly to those who do not own/ lease/ rent a unit in the property. I have been inside most of the various floor plans and posted photos of most of them. Walk to the marina, as you can see your boat outside your room, if on that side of the building. You can also walk to the local beach and 2 different restaurant/ bars in the area. read more

My husband and I reserved and prepaid for 3 nights and left after the 2nd night. This place is an absolute dump. It is located in a miserable town. One of the highest rated restaurants is a roadside stand. Others include food trucks. I knew we were in trouble as we drove toward it off I75. The surrounding area included mobile homes and dilapidated houses. The property itself was very attractive as we drove up. That good impression wore off as we saw the space accommodations. The bed was tiny. There wasn't even bedside tables. The shower was full of hair. I had to clean and sanitize it. As I placed a towel on the rack the entire thing hit the ground. While I was cleaning my husband was calling the front desk about the in-room safe that didn't work. He was told to bring our valuables to them for safe keeping. I opened the curtain to see the view they raved about. I have attached a picture. The windows were disgusting. There were layers if bird poop. The tiny refrigerator provided was missing the entire door rack. We tried to make the best of it. We couldn't get any sleep with the constant whistling of the pipes in the walls. We drove an hour away to enjoy a decent beach. We went to the laundry room the next day to find all the dryers broken. That was the last straw! We checked out. What a dump!!! Stay away from the entire town. There is nothing to see or enjoy here!! read more

This was a getaway weekend combined with a high school reunion in Saint Pete and it worked out nicely! Ruskin is a sleepy little Florida town that time has forgot but Haborside seems to be in a world of its own. You have a private beach and restaurants to chose from, we booked a Suite with a full kitchen so made most meals there because of our kids. The rooms are probably the nicest hotel rooms I've seen just about anywhere, it was more like a apartment with a full kitchen and living room, the interior design team did a great job with the colors and the furniture, it feels like the the vacation condo you should have! The staff was a mixed bag, cleaning staff was very friendly, the front desk somewhat disgruntled and the only mark on this place. We throughly enjoyed the sunsets after spending the days at Treasure Island and Madeira Beach, the restaurant and beach club were busy and it turns out it is a destination wedding spot as there was a couple getting married each night at the ballroom adjacent Great, great place, truly a diamond in the rough! You won't be dissappointed! read more

Ruskin seems to be isolated, not much going on in the neighborhood. But surprisingly, there are quite a few nice eateries nearby and the manatee viewing center is in neighboring Appollo Beach. Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg and Sarasota are all in easy drive distance. The Harborside resort was nicely done interiorly. Well furnished in kitchen. All the gates, elevator and rooms are accessed by electronic card. Very safe. The pool, hot tub look nice though we did not get to use them. Fitness room offers enough of machine and equipment. Our only gripe was they only gave 2 rolls of toilet paper for one week's stay. You are on your own if you need more. Kind of annoying! Also, the hallway often smelled like some strong cleaning agent in the air. Overall, decent clean place! read more

This place is disgusting! They could care less about keeping the property looking nice or your comfort. The public spaces are tore up and have been for almost a year now. There is mold. A LOT of mold in the showers by the pool. There is no way someone has even bothered cleaning this space. This is a public area! There's a bar of soap with a pubic hair in the shower that has been there since I was here last over a month ago! The front desk girls are in there all day gossiping and just don't care. We stayed here 7/28-8/2. My husband found it on a Veterans discount site. The resort is walkable, especially if you walk over to the homes being built by the boat builder/detailer/storage and walk through the parking lots of the various units. It's pretty flat for the most part. The rooms are ok. I didn't like that the door didn't have a way to secure the lock from inside like you would find in hotels. The daily paper should be optional. The light blue paint color is tranquil and appropriate for a beach vacation. Unfortunately, it was evident the paint was touched up at different times haphazardly as you could see the different paint marks. We had a one bedroom and it would've been preferred to have the bathroom either inside the bedroom or at least a sink and toilet in one of the closets in the bedroom. 2 closets is more than you'd find in a hotel and a water closet & sink would've been better use of the space. There was a king sized bed which sat low & was uncomfortable. It was squeaky and I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed tonight. There's a nice screen enclosed patio accessible from the living area, which has a pullout couch, and the bedroom. The kitchen comes furnished the dishes you'll need, a dorm room fridge, hot plate, & microwave. There's a restaurant or two onsite and a tiki bar off the Sunset Grille. See my separate review of it. The water around the dock and the 1/4 mi. beach was clear brown if that's possible ‍. I guess if you're accustomed to Bay water it's not an issue. It wasn't ok for me so we never got in the water and drove to Clearwater Beach most days, St. Petersburg one day but got rained out, Siesta Key & Sarasota our last full day in the area. There's a basketball court but one is missing the net and the other goal is warped but playable. Our 14 y.o. son enjoyed this part of the resort best. We didn't use the pools or hot tub as we only slept at the resort basically. Others seemed to be enjoying it however when we went to that area. There's a laundry area in the building where you check in on the 1st floor, as well as a vending machine. It would be convenient if they had a laundry room in each building. The front desk staff have change for the machines; $1.00 each to wash and dry. There's a vending and ice machine on the 1st floor of each of the buildings I believe. If you don't mind driving to a better beach and areas w/ better food options, it's not a bad place. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a little "getaway" for the weekend and it was phenomenal! We ate at the Sunset Grill each day, spent our days on the beach, and our nights in the pool. It was so relaxing and the suite was very nice!! I can't wait to go back!! Last time in as here th suites were nice.I went to the hotel side by the basketball courts.We had a few of the rooms.One room 105 had mold in the toilet like they never clean & soap scum on the sink faucet I didn't take pictures of that room cuz it was for our other guests.The pics shown below are from my room 109. In the morning: Walked to the beach, rented kayak's, paddled through the mangroves and had a great lunch at Hook's (try the Key Lime Pie), Went swimming in a nice sized clean pool, sat in the hot tub and our server brought us drinks poolside. Stayed here for a night before getting on a cruise departing from Tampa. PROS: The views from the room were beautiful! The suite was really nice, and had PLENTY of space. The people working the front desk were very nice. The rate was also awesome, I paid $90 for one night, which was definitely worth it. The pool and beach were also very nice. I also loved the fact that these are suites and had a kitchen, which came in handy. CONS: I did not realize how far this place was from Tampa. Not the resort's fault, but PLEASE be aware of this when booking! It's in the middle of nowhere. Parking was a little limited; granted, we got in very late (around midnight) but it took us a while to find somewhere to park. If you're looking for "ACTION" (nightclubs, bars, etc.) you will NOT have a good time at this resort. Yes, there is one on site but it was a little quiet. I'd stay here again for a quiet family vacation! read more

Sometimes it's the little things that count... And sometimes it's the BIG things. I am an artist, and I did something careless, which resulted in my painting being thrown in the trash. This painting took me months and was a gift for someone in FL to whom I was delivering it. The front desk personnel could not be any more helpful--and horrified at the same time--than they were. The bottom line is maintenance climbed into the dumpsters and retrieved my painting (with little damage). No amount of money in my opinion would be grand enough to compensate Fred. Aside from the "big thing," Little Harbor is beautiful with her boats, manatees, Tampa Bay, pelicans, private beach, gyms, restaurants. Harborside Suites is not new construction, and is perhaps 30+ years old. Our suite was two bedrooms and two baths (one en suite), kitchen, living room. There are outdoor balconies and patios. Request the harborside locations if possible. The kitchen contained everything one would need to take up residence. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms had plenty of towels. The shower is quite large. The suite was clean and well attended by housekeeping and maintenance. Room appointments were understated, crisp, and allowed that light, airy feeling one would desire at a "seaside" (bayside actually) location. One would be surprised to stumble upon Little Harbor as it seems to appear out of nowhere. I am a runner, and as such, I had to leave the resort to be able to piece together a longer run. I did not find the gyms exceptionally good, but if all you want is a basic workout, you could do it here. There are outdoor pools and hot tubs, and there are places to rent the equipment for outdoor sports, including water sports. As mentioned in the first paragraph, the staff is excellent. They are pleasant, helpful, and make sure your stay is everything you would want it to be. I have no complaints regarding the staff, check-in/out procedures, security, or parking. If you are an Internet addict, their WiFi is not that wonderful, but it was never down for our week stay. But you may need patience since the speed is not what it could be. The drive to Little Harbor from Tampa International is not a bad drive (came in Saturday evening). There are grocery stores, outlets, and restaurants not far from Harborside Suites, so you will have everything you need for your stay at this highly recommended resort. read more

I have stayed here quite a few times with my family and I have always had an amazing time and the rooms are always in excellent condition. This time I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the room. The bathroom had not been cleaned and smelled heavily of urine, even the trash can. The same for the couch and the bed. There is no way housekeeping did not notice any of the strong urine odor when they entered the room or see the urine all in the tile grout and around the toilet. The white kitchen table had not been wiped down, same for the kitchen counter and one of the white nightstands in the room. There were cigarette butts on the patio too. I hope this isn't the new standard for this place. read more

As one that spends 150+ nights in hotels each year I'm never sure if I'm over critical when I stay at a non-chain hotel for vacations. The room was nice, I can honestly say that I don't ever recall seeing a tile floor in a hotel. The WiFi was spotty at best and with kids in tow spotty WiFi can become a headache for the parents. The room was clean with plenty of towels. We didn't eat in either of the on-site restaurants, but both were busy. If you want a very low key relaxing stay this place is perfect. read more

This place was a very pleasant surprise for a staycation of your looking to escape. The resort has a nice beach for sunsets over St. Pete and a great grill /bar/restaurant. There is not a lot in the immediate area, but your a short drive to everything fun. The rooms are pleasant with lots of space. Not the best noise insulation, and the elevators are a little slow, but tolerable. read more

I have a 3 bedroom suite right on the harbor with 2 balconies facing Tampa Bay. I really like watching boats, especially cruise ships coast in and out of the bay. I truly feel the atmosphere of a beach house in this home and my kids are having a blast. Wifi is pretty weak and the beach itself is a tad bit filthy, but it won't ruin my experience. We are staying there for a month and the hotel/resort is very clean good laundry service is great and Jim the pool should have many more Chaiselounges And people should not be able to save their shares with a towel. Our one issue is that there are no chairs just sitting around the resort that you can't just sit outside if you're not in one of the rooms it has a balcony you either have to go to Hooks R2 Sunset Grill and then you're having to pay for food and drink in order to sit and read for a couple of hours. read more

Cons: Very slow reception process and online reservation confirmation numbers do not transfer to hotel system Restaurant is terrible processed frozen factory food and frozen seafood. This is the main one on the beach. Interior looks like an abandoned Shoneys. Most people choose to eat in the bar as we did.At least the drinks are good. The unit carpets need cleaning. Did not get a chance to try new restaurant, Hooks, but the parking lot was packed late on a Tuesday. This resort seems to be a snowbird favorite. I am concerned there there is a lot of crime nearby because there is a sheriff's department patrol car patrolling the resort day and night. There is a guard at entrance after dark and even though you have a large parking pass on dash, she makes you stop to record your name. If there are break ins or other crimes, at least the resort is being responsible and has great security at present. There are 100 or more condos across the street that seem 10% occupied. We just checked out of a 3 night stay here and had a wonderful time. We stayed in room 234C, a one bedroom king suite with kitchenette. The room far exceeded my expectations, it was far more spacious and updated than I was expecting. It was very clean and appeared to have been updated fairly recently. The small kitchenette has everything you could need from bottle openers to casserole dishes to a blender. The property is gorgeous! We only visited the main pool at the suites (there are two additional pools located at the sister property that you have access too). We spent one afternoon at the "private" beach on property (not sure that the exclusiveness to guests only is enforced). The beach was beautiful and it was nice to be able to rent chairs there! The only downside to this place is the distance from Tampa and St. Pete, but we knew that when booking. We are in our 20s and enjoy trying new restaurants when vacationing, so we had to drive about 45 minutes every night for a nice meal as the options near the hotel aren't our type of scene. read more

Our bed was comfortable and the room clean. The 11pm fire alarm when a kid at the pool pulled the alarm resulting in the alarm going off for quite awhile was the start of the disturbances. We went down to verify it was a false alarm and then had to wait quite some time until it was turned off- and while we were a little unhappy, we understand safety needs. Finally got back to bed around midnight. Woke up the next morning to a cold shower. Tried to adjust the temp, let it run a few minutes, etc. but it just kept getting colder. We had somewhere to go, so super fast shower and down to the front desk to check out. This is the fun part. AFTER, we had completely paid for our stay, we told the front desk clerk we were repeat visitors and we were disappointed in our stay. We clearly stated we were NOT interested in a discount for the stay or any thing else. We explained about the fire alarm ( day shift doesn't always know what happens at night) and the cold shower. We were REPEATEDLY told that it was OUR fault that we didn't "call the front desk to discuss the issues." Really? We were there now talking about them and getting nothing but attitude. We asked that the concerns be addressed with the manager so we could enjoy coming back. The front clerk could not have cared less about our concerns, updating the manager about the issues or if we ever returned. There are many other places on the water to stay in the Tampa Bay Area with better customer service and, LOL, hot water. We will consider those next time we get away. read more

The most disgusting Dirty room!! Even stains on the bed. So gross. Pool closes at 6! Checked in at 5 and checked out at 530. Dont waste your time ! So disappointed. Checked in another place , clean room and POOL OPEN TILL 10 read more

Had an amazing stay. Room was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately couldn't book another night because everything was booked up due to Spring Break but if I could I would've stayed there the entire week that I was in town. read more

I stayed at the Inn at Little harbor twice. compared to other places in its price range I give it 4 stars. The 1st time was wonderful, there are 2 pools and 2 restaurants on site, my room was clean and comfortable. The 2nd time 1 of the restaurants was closed, the TV remote didn't work, and a bag of trash was left on the sidewalk my entire visit. Still it is a laidback place with nice people and a good price. I will come back again. read more
