Not sure about the other reviews on here but our recent stay was awesome!! The owners couldn't have been nicer. We felt like family!!! Our room was very clean, comfortable and looked like it had been recently remodeled! The AC kept us cool and the shower was great with plenty of hot water! The outdoor pool was crystal clear and inviting! The motel is a minute walk across the street to the gulf beach!!!! Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance! The price for the room was very reasonable considering it is pretty much on the most beautiful beach in the world!! If you're looking for a nice place to stay in Florida that won't break the bank.... Best location right on the beach but awful bright florescent lighting which makes this motel look so cheap and unpleasant at night. It looks like a cheap motel on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere. read more

My wife and I called this establishment to book our vacation with our son. There was no answer, so she left a voicemail. Shortly after, a gentleman returned her call. She explained that we were looking for a room with a kitchen. The gentlemen explained that they didn't have any rooms available that had a kitchen but offered us another room without one. We agreed and paid the one night deposit that was required to book the room. We ended up finding a different location that was better suited to accommodate us with the amenities we wanted. 5 days after booking the room and over 70 days before the date we were scheduled to stay, we called to cancel. When we asked about getting the deposit returned, we were informed that it was a non refundable deposit. This was never explained at any point during the original phone call. There was also never any emailed receipt stating this. After explaining that we are canceling well over 2 months in advance and that we were never told the deposit was non refundable, we were offered a credit. Unfortunately, this experience has turned us from the establishment, and we refused the credit. While the family that owns it does seem like nice people, the business is run with poor values, which has deterred us from wanting to stay in the future. read more

We've been coming here on and off for the last 11 years. We originally got married in the hurricane NextDoor in on the Beach across the street from Keystone. Family owned and operated it's a no-frills peaceful on the beach getaway. The U-shaped hotel is only three stories tall that all center around a warm pool that I find absolutely wonderful. This wonderful family owned establishment is a place that we will continue to come back to year after year. The bathrooms are remodeled, rooms are clean with ceiling fans, and nearly every room has a wonderful view of the Gulf of Mexico. Quiet calm and peaceful, it's the perfect staycation. read more

How cute and quaint is the Keystone Motel? Ummmm...pretty darn cute and quaint. My friend and I stayed a night here to get away from busy Orlando for a couple of days and we made a great choice. She had stayed had Keystone before and loved the location and folks running the place and now I do too. When we arrived, we were greeted by Danielle, who I think is the owner or "boss" of the place and Eva, the sweetest dog in the land, who is Danielle's "boss" ... because let's face it, the dog is always in charge ... as it should be. Both ladies were super duper nice and helpful. It felt good to be here. We then checked into our room which was adorable and reminded me of "old Florida" when I travelled here as a kid in the very late 70's - early 80's. Actually, the whole place reminded me of these kinds of vacations and when things were simple and you just watched the waves and weren't in a hurry or on your phone all the time. It was really nice. Our room's window looked across the street to the ocean which "right there" ... you really just have to cross the street and you are on a beautiful beach. The room was very clean, smelled good and it looked like the bathroom had been updated recently. It was just perfect. You also have restaurants and little shops surrounding you as well. All of these things are within walking distance and its a nice walk. Even though these things are around, it never feels crowded ... there are plenty of places to go and still have the buzz of people around but the quiet as well. Its an excellent mix for a quick getaway ... and we will be getting away to the Keystone more often. Great find! read more

Great motel for a great price ... on the best beach in Florida!!

My family all gathered for a wedding and the majority of the guest stayed at this hotel. The amenities were nice but, the staff and management were less than desirable. We felt like intruders all weekend as we were gathering around the pool to be with one another all we got were complaints about this, that and the other. All petty BS! Guest not registered at hotel were not "allowed" to be with us. Really!!! Family gathering. If your with a group don't go to this place. The management staff and owners are downright mean and unfriendly. read more

Why 4 s? Because this hotel is what Florida used to be. charming! Truly a 3, but heart is better than muscle. A family get away. Affordable, perfect location, great staff! My husband and I love it. Close to paradise market, food, shops, and the Beach! they give you a parking pass. 8th Street is heaven and Keystone is the affordable secret access to it. Nice pool area and family vibe. If you are all about beach time, stay here. Great fishing close, great vacation spot. Kitchettes available. Great sunset deck. Room services are gracious, but must be requested. Thus, affordable. An oasis among obnoxious big resorts and busy mega hotels. read more

We found Keystone after first finding a place in St. Pete that turned out to be awful. Keystone was PERFECT. So clean, it's family-run, and the proximity to the beach can't be beat. We are a family of 6, and really need a place we can stay that feels safe, clean, comfortable and has most of the conveniences of home...Keystone was it. The pool was great- the kids loved it and the toys/chairs all were in excellent condition. The rooms were updated and kept very nicely. And while we were a large family staying there, the other guests were mixed: some couples, some small families with older kids, some individuals...Keystone seemed to please all. We were uninvited back to the hotel. We have been guests for years. We loved the location and our room, which was the largest. But, we did have to bring our own extra towels, we bought a Swiffer to keep the floors clean, the house keepers were rude and complained about everything. Not enough silver wear, glasses, and the king size bed was extremely uncomfortable. I had complained the year prior hoping for a new mattress as we stay over 10 days. It wasn't replaced. Some guests very loud by the pool with foul language. Front desk unprofessional. read more

Great location right across from the beach! The bed sheets were not very clean with hair all over them. The pool was also very dirty, lots of bugs and not once did I see someone there cleaning it. Other than that, it was an ok hotel to stay for a few days. Restaurants nearby are also great. read more

This motel is absolutely beautiful . Right on the beach and in the best part of Florida. The staff are very friendly and the place is really clean. The location is the best. Away from all the crowds and you feel like you have this beautiful beach all to yourself. We booked the deluxe 2 bedroom and we can't wait to go in July. Keystone is a clean family owned motel in a great location. The beds aren't comfortable and there are no frills but the beach right across the street is beautiful. Parking can be a real problem even with a parking pass. It's the location that sold us on staying here. read more

Beware! First, MANY of the 5 star comments here are fake! They are as fake as a few of the poor ratings related to a cartoon show. Our experience: The woman was RUDE on the phone from the time we made the reservation. My fiance convinced me that this was an ideal location, so I agreed. I could not get through via phone number, so sent a message, as instructed through website. I asked for a confirmation email for our reservation - got nothing. Again - I followed my fiance's suggestion, as I was planning our wedding and super busy with other details. We arrived a few days before our wedding to stay for 2 nights with our 2 teens. The same woman who had been very rude on the phone was just DELIGHTFUL in person. She had 2 sweet pitbulls in the office. She congratulated us on our upcoming wedding. We checked in, got keys. We were told on arrival that we had to pay for a parking pass - not disclosed to us previously, but ok. We went up the super steep outside stairs to the second floor (no elevator). It was a struggle with our luggage. We discovered as we entered the room : 1/2 the outlets did not work, the bathroom door did not shut completely - leaving an inch gap - not ok for staying with 2 teens, the a/c unit was in only 1 of 2 rooms - so we could not close the door between for any privacy, the beds were very uncomfortable, WORST - NO HOT WATER! No, I am not referring to a cartoon! I am a paying customer and there was no hot water. I went right down to the office, within 20 min of check in to let them know about the outlets and water. They were already gone for the day. Next morning - ice cold shower - kids wouldn't shower - we left at about 9am, office still closed. We had many wedding errands. I called the office a couple of hours later. A few hours went by before I got a call back. The woman that checked us in stated they were aware of the problem, and that it would be fixed by evening. Ok - we could live with that. After a long day , we arrive to hotel around 6pm. NO HOT WATER!!! NO CALL, NO NOTE - NOTHING. We go out to get dinner. We see 2 women walking on hotel property. I ask, "Are you staying here? Do you have hot water?" They said "NO! We checked in TODAY and the woman did not even tell us there was no hot water! We found out from a housekeeper". SO! This means the woman KNOWINGLY checked in new guests when there was no hot water and did not say a word about it. Unacceptable! We leave in morning - exhausted, unshowered - at 930 am. Still no one in office! No opportunity to speak to anyone in person. We should have been offered at least a partial refund. We got no follow up whatsoever. I work in the hotel industry - this is NOT OK. I contacted my bank and they were appalled when I described our experience and we got a provisional credit to my account. It was just reversed today after nearly a month! That means only 1 thing. During the banks "investigation" ,they contacted the merchant and THE MERCHANT LIED. Next steps pending! Awesome location - yep! Poor quality service (actually NO service), poor quality hotel. Don't bother! read more

I booked my flight for Florida (so excited!) and have been trying to book my room at the Keystone Motel in Pass-a-Grille, FL for the last month now. I was really looking forward to staying there. I have left four voicemails, sent a message through their own website and sent a VERY friendly Facebook message given the lack of customer service. The woman from there finally called me back today, talking over me and lecturing me on how she doesn't know what *I* have been doing wrong because *I* needed to recognize that they are *obviously* there "morning, noon and night" and they haven't gotten a single one of these "messages" that I supposedly left. I even asked her if we had a bad connection because I could not believe that someone would actually talk over another person like that especially when I was being very polite. And THIS is why I will be giving my money to people that are polite instead of condescending. What a shame! read more

Booked a 'family room' because I wanted the space - receptionist felt we'd be better off in the motel room.... wish I had stuck to my guns, as the 'motel room' was a bit of a downer. Dont get me wrong, room was 'clean' - dead bugs on the floor by the A/C unit... under the bed.... shower and sink fixtures need upgrades... but other then that, it was OK. I mean, off season rates were very acceptable for the LOCATION - quiet area of St. Pete, you feel like you own the area.... parking not an issue (they give you a pass to park anywhere in the area) and so many great eateries within FEET of your room. Overall, it was a great deal - I just know the next time we go which room we want (bigger, upstairs, etc). Gosh, the location....! Such a pretty area. Lastly, staff not the most friendly I've ever met, almost like they didnt want to be there... again, not the end of the world - maybe they were having a bad week... maybe I said something! One last note - make sure you put your house cleaning sign on your door the correct way - I did, but still we go no maid service. Had to go seek out replacement towels, and we didnt get our trash emptied for the 2 days we were there. Again, over all, we liked it....! For the price, you cannot beat it. If you are expecting the Ritz, go else where... if you want a decent, quiet, GREAT LOCATION place for a good price, I would recommend it. read more
