This gym is a criminal enterprise. They towed my car and have been charging my card after I canceled. AVOID!!!

We live and own a condo in Charlestown so we really know this amazing neighborhood. We just sold our beautiful Condo up the block from Harborview at the Navy Yard. We arranged a appointment with Michael Roy assistant property Mgr and he was waiting for us in his rental office on site. Michael was very pofessional, courteous and well dressed. He gave us a tour of the building,and Spa and answered all our questions. Even told us about Ronald McDonald House also on site, which we would love to volunteer our help. Being we own and operate a Real Estate Brokage in Miami we should be qualified judges of what great service should be about and Michael is a wonderful example of that type of person. If I could give Harborview at the Navy Yard zero stars, I would. The building management (Lincoln Properties) is horrendous. They knowingly cover up maintenance issues without fully fixing them, resulting in leaks, mold, noise, faulty working appliances, etc. Residents have lived with leaky windows for years without an appropriate fix. Personally, I had water damage that lasted well over a month without resolution. The management has no knowledge of what its like to be professional or provide customer service. This is NOT a luxury building. There are no amenities and the entire building needs to be updated. The units are overpriced for what they are. The building needs a reality check. Additionally, the advertised pricing of the rent is a scam. They don't include the required parking, which is $250+ and added on top of the rent. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Any response to this review from management suggesting that they attempted to mitigate issues is an utter lie. read more

I want everyone to know that I never write bad reviews. In fact, I rarely write reviews because I've been busier than Jesus trying to cure blindness. So, for me to write a BAD review (MY FIRST BAD REVIEW), I've got to be pretty riled up right? Anyways, my wife and i have been looking around for apartments because we wanted to move out of our current place due to all of the construction going on outside our window. We got a broker to help schedule a visit to this place, and we were 10 minutes late (because we were trying to find parking), our broker was actually on time, and the agent there told us that she couldn't give us a tour, even though she made us wait another 5 minutes. She stated that we were outside of their "15 minute grace period." I told her I didn't need a tour but simply just want to see the model unit for 5 minutes. Now I'm sitting there, instead of her telling me for 5 minutes that it is corporate policy policy that they can't do anything about, maybe she could have just sent us on our merry way to look at the damn model unit. Do you folks see what the problem is? I'm thinking she is thinking that we are not worth her time. Look, I'm not saying my time is any more valuable than anyone say your time, or your mom and dad's time, but I'm a busy retina surgeon. I've take care of some gangsters in the LA County jail system who have shown me a lot more respect than this woman at the Harborview. Look if you are into being treated like garbage, by someone who has the inability to think beyond corporate policy (why do all the non-thinkers refer to company policy when they can't provide a rational explanation for their awful behavior?), and you like being degraded, well go ahead live here. Otherwise, live ANYWHERE else, like on the street, or a T station. I'd rather be homeless than live in this place. read more

Well, I TRIED to view an apartment here, but my agent and I were rebuffed. Here are the facts: We had an appointment, and my agent called to reschedule for later in the afternoon. That was verified. When we arrived, we were told by the reception guy that the Harborview agent would not see us as we were more than half an hour late. His attitude was dismissive. My agent asked him to call the Harborview agent (who was right upstairs) and when he finally (after much convincing) called her she told him flatly that she would not see us. We called from the lobby ourselves, and the agent would not pick up the phone; she let her phone go to voice mail. I had traveled from Florida to look at apartments. The attitude at Harborview told me all I needed to know about what it would be like to live there. Needless to say it is OFF my list of places to consider. Rude. read more

Julie in the leasing department was exceptional to work with while choosing my apartment. I am moving from CA and looked at several apartment buildings all over the Boston area and Julie gave me genuine tips of the area. Harborview stood out among all the rest with a modern building, hardwood floors, nice amenities, and right on the marina! I chose a one bedroom apartment with ~750 sq/ft and a partial bay view that was competitively priced with other buildings. The surrounding area is beautiful and safe including the harbor walk area. Julie was patient to answer all of my questions and actually gave me two full tours so my family could see the facilities as well. I'm very happy with my choice to live at Harborview! read more

I have lived at Harborview for a year now and couldn't be happier. My decision to move here came down to price and quality. I didn't care where in the city I lived, because I travel most weekends anyway, but I wanted a luxury apartment at a good price. I looked in the seaport, the north end, the west end, the back bay, cambridge, and none compared to Harborview and the navy yard. What really got me about this area is that it is quiet. I can take a walk down the street to Tedeschi to grab a snack and be able to kind of zone out, because there aren't a million cars flying by. Now I live right on the harborwalk, which has been great for running and biking. Pier 6 is the new bar/restaurant on the water nearby that I swear has the best view of boston you are going to find. Also When my friends want to go to a game or concert at The Garden they park in my garage for free and we walk over in 20 minutes. So easy. I live in a great one bedroom apartment with a study, no water view, but that wasn't important to me. The apartment is a little over 1000 square feet, by no means the largest, but it works perfectly for me. I work from home sometimes and having an office space is great. The bedroom has two large closets that I am definitely not taking full advantage of, and I have a half bath for guests! The problem of living in the navy yard is that although there are a few restaurants you will find yourself driving to the grocery store, or to the gym. You can take some of the free shuttles that service the area, but I like to drive anyway, so this isn't much of a problem. Plus I don't need to shovel or worry about a parking space, because my car is just an elevator ride away in the garage. Have there been times where I don't understand the logic behind a new policy, yes. Has this been the case at all of the apartments I have lived in, yes. I obviously recommend this building. read more

I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Harborview. The only reason I left was because I had a one bedroom and got married last year, so we needed more space. The building is safe, the neighbors are friendly, and you cannot beat the included garage parking. That's what I miss most actually. My apartment had sweeping views of the harbor and got great light. The appliances were modern, and you have friendly staff at the front desk to greet you when you come and go. The Navy Yard is just far enough out of the city to feel like you have left the bustle and pollution, yet it is still close enough for you to walk or bike in if you choose. Pricing is a little on the high end, but considering the assigned garage parking is included, I think it's a good value. read more

We lived at Harborview for one year. It is a fabulous property. The management team is responsive and friendly. The desk and maintenance staff are exceptional. Living in the Navy Yard is safe, quiet and convenient, like having Newton in Downtown Boston. We had always planned to stay only a year as we finished our house, we would recommend to anyone! Like living in a fine hotel. Update: now there for three years. Best rental property in the city. If you are leaving the burbs to live in the city you will not do better. read more

We have lived at Harborview for the past three years and from the first interaction with the Sales Team we knew we had found the right place for us to call home. The building is very well constructed so it is very quiet (we barely hear the neighbors, if at all) which was an important factor for us. The apartments are also within walking distance to many restaurants in the City and the shuttle service to downtown Boston makes it incredibly convenient to commute to work. The Harborview staff has consistently been very courteous, professional and trustworthy. Whenever we submitted a work order, the maintenance staff was very timely and thorough with repairs. The concierge staff was always very helpful with organizing guest parking and processing of packages and dry cleaning. Another attribute that we really appreciate is that Harborview organizes charitable events year round which is a great way to give back to the community. We would highly recommend Harborview to anyone who is looking for a safe, convenient, professional place to live where they can both be part of and give back to the neighborhood they live in. read more

I just began my apartment search and after seeing a few buildings around the city I think I found THE ONE. I was impressed by the view from the leasing office. The leasing person told me he was "showing me the backyard", and when I came around the corner I was blown away by the view of the water and park nearby. The apartments were great too. Felt solid and had standard luxury finishes. The building was pretty quiet overall, but I don't know if that was a function of the time I came by or not. The building is also super pet friendly. We got in the elevator with quite possibly the largest dog I have ever seen, but also very friendly. I am looking forward to checking back in with them this summer, and finding a new place for this fall. I don't think I'll find a better building. read more

Since my first review is always showing up as filtered, I felt the need to add an update to my prior review. Management has lied to us a couple of times, telling us they have removed the noisy weights from the gym. Scot, the office manager, actually told my husband "give it seven days and see if that was the problem." Last night we heard the familiar sound of weights dropping and I said, but this can't be! Scot said they are gone! Lo and behold, the weights are still in the gym and I have to tell people myself not to drop the weights. We've become the gym nazis in the building, which is unfortunate, because we're nice people who are fed up with a problem the building refuses to handle. Still no plans to move the gym to another location. When we complained again about the noise, Scot told us we could be released from our lease but that there wasn't really anything else he could do. What a way to make your tenants feel important! In short, the management lies, and doesn't really care about the people that live there. They have an excuse for everything and won't let you escalate a complaint past the office manager, claiming they don't know who the next boss would be (you don't know your own boss? really???). I can't wait to leave this poorly managed place. Don't live here! read more

Building is beautiful. Location is great. Front desk and maintenance team are top notch. Management team leaves something to be desired. I have been here for 2 years and wanted to move into a larger unit, and they were astoundingly unhelpful. Three other moms whose children my son plays with encountered the same problem. Current residents trying to get into larger units, and the leasing office/management team being of marginal help. You would think they would want to keep good tenants or care about loyal customers, esp. those who are trying to give them MORE money each month for a larger unit. Top service is given to new residents. Once you're been in the building, you're moved waaaay down the priority list. I gave up - and bought a house nearby instead. For the high rent that they ask for these units, the management team needs to step up their customer service for current customers. read more

Sadly I would not recommend this building to anyone. Staff turnover is horrible and when you do ask for help your given attitude back. There is no management here, it's run by a jerk "head" maintenance person who makes up his own rules whenever he feels the need and two kids in the management office who can't get out from behind there desk and be personable. Wow. I'm really shocked at two things: 1) these reviews 2) that people even review their apartment building. I think its one of those things that most happy people (95%) would never think to leave a positive review - so this just gets the bad reviews. Now that I saw it though, I have to point out I think Harborview is awesome. Staff as always been friendly. I know the place is nearly sold-out because its such a great place and great price. I've lived at Harborview for 2 years now. I was looking for a quiet neighborhood, luxury apartment and that is exactly what I got. I'm a resident (physician) and I really dislike city noise while I'm trying to get some sleep. The only noise at Harborview is the sea, the seagulls and boats. Its great. My apartment is clean, with stainless steel appliances, and no issues related to old buildings. Due to the snow and bad winters in Boston, I also wanted an underground parking garage which Harborview has. Charlestown is also more affordable than Boston. Negatives about this neighborhood is that there is nothing happening locally. There is American Bakers Cafe, a little restaurant, and Tedeschi. Other than that you have to drive everywhere. I like this place. Would recommend. read more

Not on par with other luxury buildings in the city. Generally had a good experience with my maintenance requests however. Concierge needs more training as overall they are not knowledgeable and sometimes smug. Building is filled with dogs, so if you have any allergies at all, I do not recommend it. Was treated very poorly upon my move out and found a change in attitude with the staff when I put in notice that I would be moving out. Gym/building amenities not at the level you could find elsewhere for the same prices in my opinion. Agree with the previous review that says "if you don't have a pet that limits your options in terms of getting an apartment, you can definitely find a better value elsewhere, and probably a lot closer (if not within) Boston proper. It's good for what it is, but a little lacking in customer service for what you pay a month in rent." read more

Almost all of the previous reviews are RIDICULOUS. Most of them are from people who never even lived in the building! Hello? I lived at Harborview from June 2011 to June 11th 2012 and would live there for years if I could continue to afford it. The units are soo gorgeous, the tenants are all nice..the dogs are the best part. They even have a designated area outside for the dogs...and you don't have to worry about having poop bags b/c they are already outside for you. There is a building link that you can meet your neighbors on, request an apartment repair, check your packages..they couldn't make it more convenient. Free underground parking is huge, too. The staff is awesome, too. Catherine, Scot, and Kat are the main people I spoke with and they are all amazing and get right back to me. The building is beautiful and it's right on the water. There is a tedeschi down the street that has a lot of good food where you can make your own sandwiches, and it sells alcohol every night, including sundays until 1045pm. There is no building like Harborview for the price and the parking in boston..trust me..I looked for 8 months. Walk in and ask anyone that lives there and I guarantee you they say they love it. read more

Don't understand what is going on with some of these reviews...particularly from those who never lived in the building. I can't say enough about Harborview. Aside from the incredibly beautiful apartments and facilities, I have found the staff to be unbelievably helpful, kind, relaxed, friendly...Scot even started a food drive for folks in the Charlestown area. Catherine and Cat are wonderful. (They certainly follow the rules, but they aren't sticklers and provide you enough time to submit forms, make requests, etc.) Emmanuel at the front desk always has a kind word for me. And the guys who do the maintenance work are beyond nice too...they even replaced our lightbulbs for free since we were new to the building! Absolutely everyone has made us feel at home. The residents are friendly...almost all of them are dog owners so there is a real feeling of community. I think the atmosphere is only improved by the great staff and employees. Could not be happier. read more

I moved in very recently and initially I was super excited. According to the agents everything was going to be super easy and straightforward, but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way! Every day there was a problem in the apartment. The first week the key didn't work and I got locked out of the apartment at 9pm (while moving some stuff in). Two hours later they showed up to fix it. The key wasn't working properly after that day either, so I kept leaving the door unlocked, until a week later when I forgot and locked the door just when I was taking out some trash. I learned the hard way that these guys don't provide any back up plan with the key so I was left out of my unit from 8pm until the morning after at 9am. I went upstairs at 9am and found the toilette clogged, and within two weeks of moving in the dryer wasn't working, the light bulbs were burned and the fridge door was broken among other things. Last but not least, we are moving some furniture from another state and although we are trying to do everything to complete the move before 5pm (when the dock closes) we cannot know for sure, especially if the truck runs into traffic, and we were just told that we HAVE to leave at 5pm and come back another day when the dock is available (at this point it is available after a week!!). So far things have been far from super easy and straightforward! You can imagine that I wish I had never signed a lease!!! read more

Calling this building and its staff a disaster is an understatement. They claim it is a luxury building and charge accordingly but the why is my apartment, the garage, the elevator and everything else constantly in need of repair. The leasing office is worthless and any time you have to file a maintenance request (i.e., once a week) they give you terrible attitude and often just flat out ignore you. These are not minor maintenance requests either, we are talking I had no heat for 2 weeks in December! Scott, the property manager, is incredibly rude and has actually laughed in my face when I went in to complain about yet another problem with my apartment. I could go on and on but I will leave you with this: RUN, don't walk away from this place. read more

Really nice building and as others noted excellent concierge/maintenance service. Management office is a challenge! They act like they are doing you a favor on every communication. Certainly not what you would expect for the money. If you rent here be prepared to "manage" them otherwise they will walk all over you. Work is exhausting and you may not need this hassle. read more

I lived in Harborview for 3 years. First, the location is fantastic. Second, the building and apartments are beautiful. Third, the place is spotless. A great place for dogs. Here's the bad-the management and maintenance staff are horrible. Repairs are "spun" to be the tenant's fault and the tenant has to pay hundreds of dollars, sometimes thousands. You are charged a lot of money for tiny things when you move out. Certain deliveries are rejected if they are considered perishable (for instance Edible Arrangements). The fire alarm goes off 2 or 3 times a year due to simply cooking on the stove. If any bad odor is coming from an apartment an email is sent from management and the concierge goes around sniffing under doors (I witnessed the sniffing on several occasions). The rents are unbelievably expensive. Requesting to move to a bigger apartment is completely ignored. Rents go up by one or two hundred dollars a year, probably more for very expensive apartments in the building. I know many people love living at Harborview, but I would never recommend it. Go to Parris Landing, Flagship or the Basillica. read more
