Not Portside, not that new Clipper Ship development, not the border street project, not anything. The rooftop deck on the 17th floor with stunning views of the Seaport, Downtown, Zakim bridge, airport and Charlestown is something you can't get anywhere else. The 2nd floor pool deck, I literally spend every sunny day up there and it's not crowded Monday through Friday and has amazing views of the harbor and friendly neighbors to chat with. Great indoor amenities too if you want to host a dinner party, they have a gas stove and a pool table with a ginormous TV and sofas. Our Super Bowl party was a blast. There is a puppy washing room too if you are into dogs, and lots of green space outside for walking said dogs. We've met so many dogs since moving here. It's like a dog paradise. We moved here from Charlestown in November 2016 and they offer a 15 month lease which is awesome. Our first floor apartment has it's own door to the outside which would be even more useful if we had a dog. Everyday I can sit on my sofa and watch giant ships cruise by within yards of my window. It's breathtaking. The management and leasing staff are friendly, accommodating and always asking how they can make the Eddy better. They often organize great events for residents and provide free donuts, candy and ice cream throughout the year in the lobby. If something breaks, Jose the maintenance guy is right there to fix it and is friendly! 24/7 concierges are very nice and will notify you when packages arrive and Brandon will always open the door for you if he's not on the phone. We love Brandon. Brandon, please don't ever leave. Update: The restaurant here has improved, plus we moved 15 stories up so we can't hear the restaurant noise anymore. Five stars for the Eddy! We love it here, won't you be my neighbor??

Finally, a new person to the company completed the request and we found that this particular apartment had a view facing a brick wall. So, we opted for another which was 40% smaller and didn't even have a closet. After a bit more searching we ended up signing a few blocks away at Boston East. The apartment we have there isn't 400 sq feet, it's nearly 700 for the same price. The management is on it and very responsive at Boston East.

I really didn't appreciate this until i realized how much time I save being on the 90/93 highways in under 3 minutes and at the airport in 10. The amenities are the envy of all our friends; the spacious gym, roof deck, and basketball court are surprisingly rarely crowded. Management is also very responsive, friendly, and they have set up many social events for residents to meet their neighbors. Concierge is also available 24/7. Residents are very quiet and I have rarely been disturbed by outside noise, and sleeping with earplugs mitigates some of the early morning noises from trucks on valenti way. From my experience, residents seem to range from late 20s young professionals all the way to social butterflies in their 60s, and all that I've met are down to earth and friendly. Unlike some of the high rise buildings, you never have to wait longer than 30 seconds for an elevators during prime time. Great for pet owners who need to quickly take the dog out before going to work / once they come home. I moved in with my girlfriend (both late 20s) in summer 2018 but are moving in June 2019 due to a new job an hour outside Boston. We are choosing another Windsor property as we loved our experience at the Victor. The Victor is expensive, but when you compare it to other rents in downtown Boston and consider the location, stylish interiors, and just basic ease of living (management will take care of any possible needs), it is absolutely worth it if you can afford it.

I fully believe this place is an unethical business -- surpass the fine line of marketing/advertisement by stepping into the false/scam/deception advertisement, where they just tell whatever you want to hear when viewing the premise. Once signed the lease, you start to find out whatever they advertised or claimed initially was actually unsupported. And we're not talking about one misinformation--we're talking about EVERYTHING! You actually have to pay for your own closet shelves (the maintenance team told me leasing agent outright lied about such being free, construction sound is actually disruptive (see other Yelp reviews and 3rd party reviews on this infamous topic--we were lied to about it being completed within a short period of time? Never happened. The tenants who couldn't take it anymore, and chose to leave did NOT get discount or anything; they simply had to pay for breaking the lease... is that fair? Especially after being tricked to sign up for this said Lease Agreement. I had 4 neighbors on my floor--all left within one year and chose not to renew the lease--with some quick research, you will see completely amazing reviews elsewhere, i.e., where the management actually cares about appeasing the tenants. Devonshire, you're in a hospitality business selling your luxury apartments, DID YOU NOT KNOW THIS? Apartment seekers, go elsewhere. I'm more than happy to via private message, as many have reached out through the years, about the horrible experience I experienced -- AND violations of the housing law by their practices -- while I lived there. Note: ever since Jon Russo left, there's no more adults at this leasing office--it's a circus here with bunch of clowns running the place.

Expect rent increases over market price and to be nickel and dimed over everything. EDIT: Based on the Owner's response, I'd like to clarify the reasons behind my rating. This feedback is not related to the lease break, as we fully acknowledge and agreed to the terms surrounding it. However, it's important to highlight that the lease break policies are extremely unreasonable, and I strongly advise anyone considering renting from City Suites to thoroughly review the lease, as management is unyielding--even if you're a responsible tenant. Here are some of the specific issues we encountered during our time there: Noise Complaints: For an entire year, our downstairs neighbors regularly played loud music with heavy bass until 4 AM on weekends. Despite trying to resolve it ourselves, we informed property management when it didn't stop. They insisted that the noise wasn't coming from the apartment below, even though it was obvious from both the noise and visible parties happening downstairs. After calling the police one night at 4 AM, the property manager became defensive, dismissing the issue and insisting it was coming from the building next door. He even told us not to call the police again. Laundry Costs: After moving in, we noticed a significant increase in the laundry fees, eventually costing us an additional $10 every time we did laundry. Temperature Control: Although heat is listed as "included," the property management controls the temperature. When we filed a maintenance request for broken heat or A/C, the issue was temporarily resolved, only for them to adjust the temperature back down after a few weeks. Maintenance Requests: The property manager once called to tell us that we were submitting too many maintenance requests and should stop. However, the requests were for issues that were either broken when we moved in (such as consistent ceiling leaks) or basic repairs. Considering the high rent for these "luxury" apartments, we expected appliances and systems to be functional. To be fair, the maintenance team was great--shout out to Jeremy, who always did his best. Rent Increases: The broker told us that City Suites never raises the rent, which was completely untrue. Over two years, our rent increased by $600/month, while market rates were either flat or declining. Property Manager's Attitude: Throughout our time living there, the property manager maintained a consistently accusatory, condescending tone. He clearly held a negative view of renters, treating us with a lack of respect. Despite our efforts to always be polite and responsible tenants, we were met with rude responses and dismissive behavior. In summary, while the location itself might seem appealing, the management's lack of responsiveness, unreasonable policies, and poor treatment of tenants overshadowed any positives. I would not recommend renting from City Suites. I lived in the North End for 5+ years under 3 different landlords and I am confident you can find something just as nice with a more respectful landlord.

However, in the…read morepast two years living in one of City Suites buildings in the North End working with Andrew has been an overall horrible experience. He might be very responsive but always comes from a passive aggressive tone that lacks understanding. We had an issue where some of our livable space was inhabitable for over 6 months and we have to nickel and dime them to receive any rent reduction. When the city turned off our water for over 12 hours he expected us to contact the city which they told us was the landlord/management companies responsibility (this was during the COVID lockdown) When looking for places to live in Boston I would avoid this management company at all costs.

What stands out most is their consistency - year after year, they deliver the same exceptional level of reliability and care. I feel genuinely at ease knowing I never have to worry about our living situation. Anytime a typical property issue comes up - like a sink leak or a dishwasher malfunction - they respond immediately and almost always have it resolved within 24 hours. Their team is not only efficient but also friendly and professional, which makes every interaction simple and stress-free. Communication with them is always easy, and it's never difficult to get in touch with someone, which is incredibly rare in property management. I also appreciate how clean and well-maintained they keep our common areas; the regular cleaning staff keeps the stairwells and hallways spotless. Even our move-in process was seamless, and routine maintenance is handled proactively. One of the biggest reasons we've stayed in our apartment for so long is because of how secure, supported, and happy we feel with OVNT. We truly feel lucky to have them as our property management company. Highly recommend.

We wanted to see a lease and were told we couldn't unless we put down a deposit of $3300 and would get it back if we decided to not sign the lease. We ended up not liking the terms of the lease and requested our money back. We were told that wasn't possible anymore. We were told our money would be returned after the apartment was rented out, but that never happened. We did not sign a lease or any sort of document for that matter. After speaking to OVNT representatives in person and after numerous phone calls, they began ignoring us and blocking our phone numbers. We have been trying to simply get our money back for the past year and a half and nothing has changed. The point of this post is to simply inform others to be aware of how certain people run their business, and try and take advantage of people who are not from the area.
