My boyfriend and I stayed three nights in a Deluxe Gold King Room in the Heaven (adults-only) section for a destination wedding. Our all-inclusive stay cost $1,800, and unfortunately the experience was stressful and disappointing from start to finish. Transportation: Airport transportation was included, but we waited over one hour after being told it would be 10-15 minutes. Transportation was grouped with guests going to other resorts, resulting in multiple drop-offs and a one-hour drive to the hotel. Check-in: We were dropped off at the convention center instead of the main lobby and given no direction. We wandered through employee-only areas before finding help. Check-in was done at an unmarked table with laptops and no greeting. We were also required to place an unexpected $300 security deposit, despite being fully prepaid and having $600 in resort credits. Resort credits were never explained at check-in. Room & Maintenance Issues: * Locked out of our room due to a dead door lock battery, waiting 20-30 minutes for maintenance * Complete water shut-off at 1:00 AM, taking over an hour to resolve * Sink never drained properly and shower pressure was poor * Spa tub was unusable: mold in jets, black debris when activated, broken tiles, loose jet button, lukewarm water only, and a 45-minute fill time Room Service & Housekeeping: * Food allergies were documented, yet I was served food I am allergic to twice, including with replacement meals * Food consistently arrived cold and stale * Tray pickup, toiletries, and coffee pod requests were repeatedly ignored or took hours * Received an unexplained front desk call at 1:00 AM with no follow-up Food & Beverage: Food quality was generally poor. The only good meal we had was at Umo, though even there service mistakes occurred. Buffets were bland with no salt or pepper available. Room minibar options were extremely limited and additional refills were charged. Alcohol was not available via room service unless purchased at full price. Resort Credits: The $600 resort credit was misleading. Credits could only be used in limited areas and required paying 35% out of pocket to use them. This was never disclosed prior to booking. We canceled a couples massage because the out-of-pocket cost nearly equaled half the service. Additional Issues: * Very limited smoking areas with no seating or shade * Children frequently present in adults-only areas * Bathrooms unavailable in many lobby and restaurant areas While some staff were kind, the resort's size, poor communication, and lack of organization led to constant issues. For the price paid, this did not meet the expectations of a luxury, adults-only resort. We would not return.

The customer service was really good. However, I did not like the all inclusive. I felt like it could have been more options for breakfast instead of just buffet options. Also, I did not like how the check-in process took nearly an hour, which was a very long time, and I felt that they were unorganized , but other than that, the taxi service and bartenders were very nice. I will get the rooms at three out of five only because I did like the bathroom but I felt that the room could have been more updated. Also, if you love monkeys and raccoons and iguanas, they are definitely on site. You see them throughout the whole day. The question when I come back? Is I don't think so I think I would definitely try other options in Cancun like I did before I came here for a wedding. The wedding was beautiful but I don't think I will come back to stay.

Updating our review from 4 to 5 stars because the customer service at the Hard Rock was truly stellar. Every staff member we interacted with was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Our only suggestion would be to continue moving forward with renovations, as the rooms do feel a bit dated. That said, this was still the perfect place to relax, unwind, and be fully present with your loved ones. I also have to mention how much we loved the cats around the property. One in particular greeted us every morning near one of our favorite restaurants on the Heaven side, which made the experience feel extra special. Seeing the wildlife, especially the monkeys and cats, was such a fun and memorable treat for us.

Great place to stay, food, entertainment, water park, games and food were excellent. Steak house was amazing highly recommend, downside no reservations which if you didn't arrive early the wait was long. Coffee shop was great pick me up whenever you needed it.

Came back last week and I have to say this is an amazing resort! The food, the service, the different amenities and activities surpassed what I had expected. I've been to a couple resorts before but this place surpassed them definitely. Yes, the rooms were a little dated, it would be nice to have queen beds instead of 2 doubles. Don't necessarily need the bathtub in the room, but you don't really spend much time there anyways. Food - the variety at the buffets were great! Always something for the kids to eat. You can tell that they make everything in house and the bakery/dessert sections is very good. I like how clean and how they handle the food there. Anything that needs to be kept cool is in little fridges or salad on ice. Water bottles everywhere. The restaurants were great, they were first come first serve. We went around 530-6pm and didn't have to wait, but if you go later you might have to. We really liked the restaurant Frida, the hibachi experience was cool, but food was meh. Overall, I would say the food quality was great for a resort! Service - everyone was super nice, someone always comes along while you're at the pool to see if you want a drink. It was not too difficult to find loungers throughout the day. Amenities/activities - love that they have a waterpark (opens 11am-5pm), indoor playground and trampoline park. So great for kids. Throughout the day they would do activities by the pool. The foam party was fun as well. Overall, it was a great experience. The weather was perfect the entire time we were there. The beach is calm and shallow due to man made coves which blocks a lot of the seaweed which is nice. Check in process was not too long. We got to see some wild life like monkeys etc while we were there. The shows at night was great too! The best ones were neon human and Fire and Water. We are looking forward to come back!

Very nice older property w 9 different units. The property has an adult only area which is fantastic. All inclusive resort, so many buffets, not my favorite. Spa and gym were nice. Accommodating the guests is high priority. The elevator in our unit was scary and some days did not work at all. We were on 2nd level thankfully. Nice conference center on property. Many pools and a swim up bar. The beach area was not beautiful, and quite small. On the plus side the servers came out here to bring beverages

Resort was very relaxing and rooms were not bad! So many pools and fun areas to lounge around at. Food was okay definitely not amazing but could find some things to eat. Service was also okay and pretty receptive.

This was my first time staying here. I stayed here because my cousin got married here. And the place was just ok. They did not have a big variety on the red side of the building because it was mostly the kid's side. On the blue side where I stayed was for adults was alright but not much over there either. The food was not good, some food items were ok, however, the bar had premium alcohol, and some drinks felt watered down still. Check-in was horrible. You had to wait in a long line and once you got to the counter it took at least 45 minutes or more to check in. The rooms were clean. But needed better up-to-date curtains and the beds were too close together. All the TV channels are mostly Spanish so it was hard to find any English channels. The maids did not clean the room well they left trash and other items on the floor. The service of the staff was very good. They catered and made sure you had everything you needed and made sure you were comfortable. Note: Plenty of monkeys and iguanas, etc., around the hotel. Be careful and don't walk alone.

Another wonderful stay I just had here at HRHRM! The service here is always so amazing and the location is absolutely perfect!! A lot has changed since we've been here, including new restaurants and now both lobbies being Hacienda and allowing kids. They will also change the menus frequently, like for example, they changed both chocolate desserts for ciao and le petit Cochron. I understand that it's always nice to switch things up, but if you're going to do so, at least make the new desserts taste good. The chocolate mousse was gelatinous, and the chocolate cake at ciao wasn't even cake. I don't even know what to call it. With that being said, there were still plenty of options for good food. The new Thai restaurant, Wai, was probably one of my favorites! Their other new restaurant, Umo, has amazing tacos! I Absolutely love this place and the employees here! It truly is Heaven on Earth!

    Mold mold, and more mold.

Mold everywhere. We just checked in, went to our room, assumed the musty smell was partially because the AC wasn't on. We cranked up the AC went for a walk. When we returned, it was actually worse, and that is when we noticed mold on the bed skirt and hanging lamp. We talked with 3 different people to request a new room, each one putting it on another person to take care of. At this point it's been 1 hour since we were told that we would get a new room. Hopefully they can figure out what end is up so we can sit down for dinner. And yes we've stayed at other resorts in Riviera Maya and non of them smelt this moldy

Food was great! Streak House was great!!! We went there twice on our stay! I would say their dessert was my favorite! The Italian place made the best Aperol Spritz!! We spent most days by the pool! Very nice and relaxing, but would probably go somewhere else if we go back to Mexico

From the outside and wedding brochure, this hotel looked like a contender so we went for a guest pass. We normally are able to purchase guest passes for the day by going to the counter of any all inclusive. We approached the gate and we were put on the phone to the reception who told us they could not offer a guest pass today because they had "several check outs" - not sure what that has to do with it but, ok. I even explained that we were there to PAY for the day to look at venue space for our upcoming wedding for 60 ppl and she still repeated it wasn't possible and I can "email the wedding department for a tour". I looked online while standing there and was able to book it on my phone and they then allowed us to enter. Terrible customer service and the first of many red flags. We arrived and went to go sit down for breakfast and there was a line out of the door, everyone sweating while they seated guests at an alarmingly slow rate. A teenager fainted from the heat and blocked the entrance to the restaurant, causing an even larger delay. (the teenager was fine and they just left him laying in the entrance, we're glad he was okay, but he could've moved to allow guests to exit and enter). The food was terrible and almost uneatable. We were able to pour our own mimosas so that helped us get through the experience. We then tried out the "swim up bar". The swim up bar actually had no bartender so you had to get out and go around to the dry side to order a drink. The bartender was pleasant and efficient at least. There was hair, leaves, and all sorts of debris floating all over the pool. This hotel doesn't have a beach. it's a lagoon with a lot of seaweed so we just sat at a table and had drinks most of the day. There are also a LOT of children at this resort which is fine if you're looking for something really family friendly. When it was time for our day pass to end, we approached the desk to get our IDs back and the receptionist who originally said we couldn't have a day pass is now demanding I send her an email with my day pass reservation before she returns my IDs to me. Thankfully, my husband was able to get our IDs so we could get out of there. After our terrible experience, we've heard that they are potentially closing and have not been paying vendors correctly so we're very glad we went to see for ourselves before booking a wedding at this hotel. It is dark, dated, and not enjoyable. The area of Puerto Aventuras is lovely and the hotel next door, Catalonia, is far better for an even better price.

The service was poor, the food was terrible, every day the same food in the buffet and the biggest problem of all was the beach. There was essentially no beach at all. Instead of a beautiful Caribbean shoreline, there was a small area full of seaweed that smelled awful. Every day, a few workers tried to remove the seaweed by hand with shovels, but the situation was impossible to improve. We chose this resort because we wanted to swim in the Caribbean Sea, not spend our vacation in a pool. Unfortunately, the sea was completely unusable. The pools were also disappointing. They were not clean, we noticed hair floating in the water, and there were many intoxicated guests throughout the day, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. In our opinion, this resort does not deserve a 5-star rating. We would rate it no higher than 1 star. After more than 20 wondertul trips to Mexico, this vacation was such a negative experience that it has made us reconsider returning. The number one issue was the lack of a usable beach. We came for the sea, and that was the biggest disappointment of all. Never again

The 4 stars are not for the food but rather the amount of things they have for all ages. Every night they have some kind of entertainment for kids and adults, the casino, the free water activities like kayak, snorkeling, and more. The Maya Beach room as a premium member was roomy and clean. We had an ocean view which was nice with a jacuzzi tub in the balcony. The bed was okay, the pillows were pretty flat. The pools and the kid pool area were great. We were able to go to all 3 pools for other locations. Caribe did have the best kids pool if your kid is older; we didn't go because our son is only 2. The beach area is very tropical with lots of palm trees and shade and lounge chairs that you can enjoy. All the workers were super nice and welcoming. Now the food isn't their strongest suit at this place. They had made a reservation prior to us arriving for all 4 nights, which was nice because we didn't have to deal with "sorry, we are full". We tried the Italian, Spanish, and hibachi. Italian was straight NO for us. It lacked flavors, the pasta was uncooked, and the pizza was whatever. The salad bar at Italian had everything warm, and we went at 7 p.m. Don't even get me started with their cannoli as dessert; just order ice cream. The hibachi we went to was whatever as well. I thought the fried rice and meat they cooked was salty, and you can order one item per each section (appetizer, main dish, & dessert). Spanish was not WOW but was for sure better than the other two. Salmon was cooked nicely, and my husband had lamb, and he said that was yummy. I did order lentil soup, and somehow they brought me garlic soup, which was a bowl of salt with water basically. Buffets: we did try two of their buffets - the main one by the Maya Beach reception and the bar and grill by the pool. The breakfast at the main was had good selection of everything for everyone. Of all 4 days we stayed there was one day where we felt the lunch buffet wasn't good. We mainly didn't like the bar and grill by the pool and felt that place just lacked a lot of food options. We did have free room service with our premium level however the menu items were not at all appetizing for us to order anything. You can't get food ordered by the pool like other resorts so if that's something you like this place lacks that's. The drinks were okay nothing amazing just like any other all inclusive resort. The premium lounge did have patron and some other bit known brand alcohol for self service. What i also noticed is that they didnt have a coffee shop on site anywhere to get good cup of coffee. They have automatic coffee machines that you can get your cappuccino and latte and stuff. Overall we enjoyed our stay due to the activities and things to do and the tropical ambiance of the resort.

Lets start with the rooms. Rooms are outdated, lamps dont work, shower grout is cracking, they didn't provide hand towels for the bathroom and each time we asked they said they were out. On our third day, there was a huge water leak on the third floor that caused water damage on some of the rooms where they had to move one of our friends to a separate room. The TV channels were mainly Spanish with hardly any English options. Also they say the rooms fit 4 but if your going with older kids, you will be very crammed with hardly any space to move around. We also killed 5 large spiders during our stay as they would crawl into our luggage. Mini fridge was small and they never re-stocked our fridge with beers or water throughout the week. When we had came in 2019, they would restock us daily, including liquor. Appears as though those days are long gone. Now to the food, the buffets served cafeteria food, with breakfast probably being the best thing they served. Some of the better options such as the fried fish, was limited and you had to look for it. There were coffee machines to serve yourself and was disappointed that there wasn't a coffee shop on site. Similarly, the liquor being served was low quality and the bartenders were inconsistent in serving better liquor, which told me it all depended on their mood or if they thought you would tip them. You have to upgrade to a premium bracelet for better liquor but even then the liquor was still low quality. For the reserved dinners, we selected the mexican, Spanish, Japanese and French dinners. By far the best dinner was the Japanese teppanyaki with the Spanish and French restaurants being decent and having a good ambiance. However the mexican food was a huge disappointment. They were skimpy on the portions, the food came out cold, and the meals lacked flavor. When we asked the waiter about the cold food he told us it was because it was already past 9 pm, as if that's an excuse to serve us cold food. The waiter looked annoyed at us and we felt they were rushing us out of there. Considering this is Mexico, we would have expected a much better experience in the mexican restaurant, but it was a complete let down. The night we had french food, we sent our kids to have Italian. They were disappointed that they had ran out of appetizers and the food wasn't good. They were in and out within the hour which was shocking. Finally, the pools and the beach were decent and probably my favorite part of the property was the gym. The grounds are so vast that it never felt too crowded which was a positive. They also had different events and shows happening every night so that was also a positive. The bowling alley became an insurance policy for us on food and coffee whenever the dinner was bad so I do give a thumbs up to the bowling alley. Considering we came with a large group (18 to be exact) hoping for the experience we had the first time, this was a complete let down. We would never come back and would urge people to do their homework on what really matters to them before booking.

Heaven Hard Rock Hotel - Upstairs balcony Jacuzzi (we didn't use it)

We enjoyed the expansive property with tons of restaurants, pools, and bars. All staff members were very engaging and friendly. We were underwhelmed by the guest room. A serious facelift is in order. The furniture was all scratched up, the drawers didn't close, and the sink barely drained (one of the stoppers appeared to be stuck). We almost got trapped outside on the second floor balcony because the electric key pad didn't work. Good thing we didn't shut the door! Housekeeping arrived at 4:45 PM on our second day, but we were already getting showered and ready for dinner. The only reason for the 3 Yelp stars is because of the Awaken Your Senses dinner. This was incredible! Unique and awe-inspiring. It was $195 per person, but it was multiple courses, wine/alcohol pairings, and digital entertainment. The service was impeccable. Some of the best we've ever experienced. This experience is a splurge, but if you're a foodie, check it out. We were offered a discount if we sat through a Timeshare session at 8:00 AM, but we hard-passed/declined. If you don't mind the room being a bit dark/dingy/old, then this could be a suitable all-inclusive option.

The resort is huge with tons to do, and we loved seeing wildlife like monkeys and capybaras around the property. Resort/Room: We stayed on the Heaven (adults-only) side and enjoyed a pool-view room. It was quiet inside despite the party outside, though the room did show some wear and tear (peeling headboard, slightly dirty tub). Still, it was comfy overall. Food: The food was just... okay. By no means authentic, and not AMAZING culinary revolutions, but it got the job done. Umo (Mexican restaurant) and Faro (buffet) were some of the better options on property. Staff/service: The real standout was the staff. Everyone was kind and welcoming and put it attention to detail to the smallest thing that real made a difference. Big shoutout to Alex (Bali bed attendant) at the Heaven pool for being super attentive and fun! Pro tip: Get off the resort at least once! You are doing yourself and the locals such a disservice if you just never leave. The area is rich with history and culture: Chichen Itzá, Tulum, Coba, 700+ cenotes, you name it. It's worth stepping out of your little paradise for 8 hours, I promise you. Overall: the amenities and activities were great, and the staff truly made the experience better. If you're looking for peace and quiet, I'd recommend staying on the Heaven side, though keep in mind it's a bit removed from the rest of the resort. If you want to be more central to everything, consider the family side instead.

No desk reception, no hotel guide or amenities, no person greets you at all other than a security guard at the trailer park entrance. There was maid service, but heaps of dirty towels were left all day long on the staircase. Room was okay, nothing luxurious and showing its wear, but nothing to complain about if you're not expecting anything luxurious. Television in room is smallest ever, beds were comfortable, view out room and air con were great. Don't stay here without a car for sure, as you won't be able to really have food (restaurant is not fantastic and it's the only option).

Some describe it as "quirky" but I think they mean to describe the surrounding land where ex-pats live in trailers and hang out in their little private oasis. The hotel feels like their land's soul-less counterpart, built to subsidize the rest. The beach isn't that nice or well-kept. The hotel looks nice but it's obviously cheap, fast construction. Our room was always covered in giant red ants that ate us alive, and every time we took a shower, the entire room (not just the bathroom, the ENTIRE room) got coated in a wet, humid film. We had to put towels on the ground so we didn't slip or sleep in our own filth. They also fail to mention that the restaurant on site and tiny little convenience store are the only places to get food within a 15 minute drive, so if you don't have a car you're totally screwed. The they both also have really limited hours, the food sucks and is overpriced, and they are cash only. Cash only would have been fine if there was an ATM nearby, but there aren't. In a desperate move, we begged our Chichen Itza tour guide to drive us to an ATM when we were already supposed to be on the road, just so we could pay for a meal. The office also isn't open very often, so when we tried to pay for the room they were always closed. When we finally got a hold of someone via email to PayPal the fee, they took forever to respond, then didn't tell the front gate so we were basically held hostage by the security team when we were supposed to be catching a bus to Tulum. Finally it got worked out, but was incredibly frustrating and left a really bad taste in our mouths.

You might as well try to find another resort in the area for the same price or something worth the money. I've been to many resorts and this was definitely not a good one. For starters out of a 8 night stay you can make 2 reservations for dinner...... and the other 6 nights you're screwed unless you want to tip the Host's money to seat you. The whole resort is a money grab, the bartenders are only giving good service if you are tipping them constantly and the second you stop the good service stops. The food isn't good it makes you feel sick after. After you use up the 2 dinner reso's you have they try to convince you to buy a bottle to have a seat at the restaurant. At the late night disco they only serve you if you are a women and they make the guys go to the back of the line over and over unless you tip them well. Stay away from this resort and spend a little bit more money to go to a nicer resort. Any other questions reach out
