The Hard Rock is an anchor restaurant at Universal's CityWalk. Our family ordered the Salmon entree, where the only veggie option is a succotash of sorts, the Legendary Smash Burger, and the chicken sliders. The sliders were covered in hot honey and had a tangy slaw and perfect bite of pickle! There wasn't a wait, which was great. We were able to watch the end of the Portugal v Colombia game, and enjoy our meal. read more

I was in Orlando for a work conference in November 2023 and at the last minute decided I wanted to go to the Bush concert at Hard Rock. I had been to this location before for food and drinks (good experiences) but never for a show. Since my decision to attend was about an hour before the show, my seat was literally in the next to the last row as high is you could go up. That's ok because the sound quality was fantastic. It's not the biggest music venue and that gave it more of an intimate feel even if the show was sold out. The best part, if you can believe this happened (oh, it did) was Gavin Rossdale coming all the way up to us while performing. I was in such shock and so excited I didn't have time to pull my phone out. What a rad show. The venue is cleaned and well-maintained. read more

When you have an artist you really wanna see and they are playing here just know that it's gonna be drama! I'm saying that because this venue is in the heart of Universal you have to pay to park on given days so there's a $35 price tag for one on top of concert tickets and then if you buy a $20 drink and then if you buy merch to support the band you'll be spending more than you bargained for. This venue isn't anything special but at least the sound is good, but that still isn't worth it as I try to avid coming here as I've been here twice both times everyone who I encountered here working was very rude it must be a thing with it here as I find it all over when I visit any business on this property! Overall the show was good venue mid drink watered down and staff rude so do yourself a favor and only come here if this is the only show they are playing in the area! read more

Great venue for a small/mid-sized show!...once you get past the most inconvenient parking experiences. I only commit to shows at this venue if I LOOOVEEE the band, because it is just so annoying and adds a ton of time having to park at CityWalk and venture over to the venue by foot. Truly such a deterrent. But once you're in, it's a great spot. Drinks are pricy but that's everywhere, and otherwise it's seamless. I like that merch has it's own outdoor area and the openers often hang out out there which is nice. I had balcony seats for the first time. Important to note that if you're planning to stand and dance...balcony is not for you! We were shocked that people truly used these seats to SIT the entire time!!!! We ended up going down to GA for the opening act that we cared the most for, and then leisurely sat for the remainder of the show. After a long flying, I met with family and enjoyed city walk before having a nice sit down meal. I'd never been to hard rock Orlando and I was so hungry and craving a steak. So steak it was! The hard rock was busy but we didn't wait long for a table. I choose a big Dos XX to ease me into dinner. Not long after I choose the medium sirloin with mashed potato's and green beans. Food arrived not long after and it was cooked to my asking. Good suggestion from my server on the marbling and less fat. This venue has phenomenal close seating to some big name acts with the added bonus of being inside the universal property. If you stay at a universal property, you don't have to worry about parking or having a few drinks during the show and you don't have to show up hours early to ensure you can park in a parking garage. Security checking bags did it efficiently and quickly. I was prepared to wait in long lines when I saw there was only one bar when you walked in the door, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were served and didn't have to wait in line. The bartender could probably use a little help. One of them had an attitude to anyone who asked them a question. The only thing that I could say negative about the venue was that the seats are connected to each other and in this post Covid age I don't want to sit on top of my neighbor who I don't know. We reset third row and my ears weren't vibrating after the show from the speakers being way too loud. The acoustics were great and the show was phenomenal. We would definitely come back. read more

We saw Ace Frehley of KISS here. Getting to the venue was a bit arduous. The parking lot was packed and from the moment we parked it took about 25 minutes to walk through security and get inside. Huge crowds of people to contend with, not fun. The theater itself is pretty nice and the seats were comfortable. We sat up in the balcony and enjoyed the view and easy access to the bar and bathroom. Drinks were about what you'd expect. We got 5 soft drinks and it was about $20 bucks, which at a concert isn't horrible. My only criticism of the place was that whoever was doing the sound did an awful job. It was way too loud and the mix was terrible. It was so loud actually that I left with ringing ears despite me wearing ear protection. All in all, this is a decent concert venue, pain in the butt to get to, but decent. Three stars from me. read more

I always dread going to Hard Rock to see a show because (1) traffic can be hell especially during the work week; (2) it cost $30 to park here before 6pm; (3) the long lines at the security checkpoint; (4) fighting the crowd to get through City Walk to the venue; (4) drink prices are pricy; (5) The REAL General Admission (GA) might be blocked off from the front of the stage all the way back to the bar depending on the event; and (6) the restroom situation sucks at times. Don't get me wrong, Hard Rock has a lot to offer and being the rocker that I am, I love seeing live music; yet, every time we buy tickets, I die inside just a little. I refuse to pay $30 to park here if I bought tickets to see a show at the Hard Rock. Alternatively, I could spend a small fortune at the Hard Rock Café to have my parking validated, but I would rather get my moneys worth somewhere else on Kirkman and arrive at 6pm. Once parked, you must clear Universals security checkpoint then navigate through the thousands of guests at City Walk to the Hard Rock. This process can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on lines and your athletic ability. Checking-in at Hard Rock is usually quick and painless; yet there is another brief security checkpoint when entering the venue. If you managed to beat the crowds to the show, secure your spot (if you have a crew with you), use the restroom (if needed), and order a drink otherwise you will spend a lot of time trying do one of these three things once the venue fills up. Do yourself and everyone else a favor by bringing CASH to buy drinks. The bartenders are the bomb and they pour stiff drinks for the price ($18 Whiskey Ginger); however, they can only go as fast as a credit system/customer allows. Also, keep your cup and bring it to the Hard Rock next time around to receive a discount on drinks ($2). The new thing that big venues like Hard Rock seem to be doing is blocking off the entire GA area with chairs and making it VIP, this is really pissing me off. I've seen plenty of shows here with GA tickets where I can get all the way up to the stage, now, I never know what I am going to get. Our most recent visit here was to see Cheap Trick. I was so excited, I haven't seen them in 20 years. I knew I would walk out with plenty of Rick Nielsen picks for my collection but NO, the entire floor was blocked off for VIP and we were stuck in the bar area all night. When the show was done, security wouldn't even let run a quick check for miscellaneous picks, when I tried, security herded us out of the venue; ridiculous! As you can probably tell, I'm not crazy about Hard Rock, but they do host some amazing bands, comedians, and other live entertainment. If you have never been here before I highly recommend going just be prepared for the issues brought to light by reviews like this one, so you can plan ahead and have a great time. read more

April 10 came to Hard Rock Live to see Angela Johnson sitting in the front row being partially mobility disabled was so grateful to have a security guard named Don he was so accommodating my foot was hurting keeping it down so as soon as everyone was seated, he got a chair for me to keep my foot up and he stayed and made sure that everybody got to their seat safely and that I was not in a way yet I was able to enjoy the show cause I could keep my foot up he's very very nice person and we are so lucky to have him on our side of the sold out show thank you so much Don. He deserves recognition and appreciation as well. read more

$20 for chicken wings is crazy, matter of fact it's only 6 wings, 2 of them were burnt too, it took also insanely long for the food to get here. First, the good. The wait for a cocktail at the main bar was non-existent. I was able to get a drink in under five minutes. Rest rooms were also able to handle the capacity crowd. This was an unexpected surprise. Now, the not-so-good. In the main picture on this site, there is enough leg room for someone to walk down a row to get to their seat. That was not the reality we experienced last night for the Kansas concert. In fact, the rows were stacked so closely that it was quite difficult to let someone by at all. This was made even more difficult by the fact that the chairs did not have seats that fold up like in many theaters. Add to this that there are no drink holders on the seatbacks (and how could there be considering they require actual space?) and that they keep the lids on the bottled waters they sell you (because morons will throw bottles of water, apparently) and you've got a prescription for disaster. Next, the width of the seats would barely be appropriate for an audience of non-obese ten-year-olds. They pack you in like sardines, my friends. And the audience members going to see a Kansas cover band (only one founding member remains) have many decades (and super-sized quarter pounder with cheese meals) under their belts than a non-obese ten-year-old. In short, you are sitting ass-to-ass. The tightest seating I've experienced in my life. Lastly, while this part is not directly related to the venue, for the effort it takes to park, get through security, and walk through the amusement park atmosphere before arriving at the actual venue (where you go through security again), the show should be longer than a mere 90 minutes. If the headliner cannot last longer than that, then get an opener out there. Even a second-rate comedian being booed off the stage would work. I was blown away that Kansas played such a short show. I saw them about 18 months ago in Boise, ID and they played two sets in a true theater where I was not intimately rubbing asses with complete strangers the entire time. My two cents. And you did not even pay me that much. read more

Saw Jeff Arcuri here in the top of balcony-right and it was a sweaty experience. Jeff begged the venue to do something about the heat at least 4 times throughout the show but it wasn't until the last 15 minutes that we finally felt some air flow. Jeff went over his time a little bit to compensate but that caused them to block off the bathrooms so no one could use them at the end of the show. They just shouted at everyone to leave. Jeff was great but I hope he finds a better venue if he comes to Orlando again. read more

The food was excellent, service was excellent, very little to complain about there. Infact, very little to complain about in general. I think the only gripe I have is the value for the money. A burger, and a noodle bowl with chicken, and two soft drinks being $60 is a tad bit asinine to me. I didn't regret paying it that much, but it definitely was more expensive than I was intending. As far as live venue's go, this one delivers for a medium size show. I've seen it set up for comedy and music. I prefer the layout when it's set up with seats on the floor, but for a general admission (GA) show, it can suck as there's no where to sit. I literally stood in the same spot for 4 hours at the last show (it was a good spot for us and I didn't want to lose it). That's metal for ya... can't have chairs! I wonder why.... One thing to note is it's not very deep, so even if your in the back, you're not too far from the stage. It's pretty wide so if you're off to the side, you may not have the best view, but it's not a bad view either. There's upstairs balcony seating too, but I haven't had the privilege of partaking in that perk. The logistics of getting here absolutely suck, but that's not the venue's fault. It is what it is. You do have to park in the same places all those people going to Universal park, so that can be a drag. If you're going to show, it's usually in the evening so lines aren't terrible (at least during the week). Although it has its faults, it serves the area well and if there's a band or comic or magician or juggler or psychic or pianist or plate spinner or dog act or cooking demo or ballet dancer or acrobat or sewing demonstration, I'll suck it up, pay $27 to park, walk 500 miles and eat at Cowfish beforehand. read more

The venue is great they have a huge space for standing and have a balcony. I love that it's so open. In the back they have a bar. My only issue is that it's really hot once people are inside. The drinks are good but expensive. Pregame before you go. And bring a neck fan. read more

Google maps is going to take you to the Hard Rock hotel but there is someone outside who directs you were to go. I learned the second time to just type in "Universal Parking." There is free parking after 6 pm which is really nice. Make sure you get there with plenty of time because the walk from the parking lot is pretty lengthy and it'll be crowded. When you finally see Hard Rock you can't walk directly at it, you have to walk around the lake so make sure to account for that also. My first time visiting our seats were in Right P1 and P2. Our view wasn't blocked but the person in front of us kept taking pictures of the pole in front of them so I assume their view was partially blocked. The seats were so uncomfortable- not like seats I've seen at any venue. They felt more like folding chairs and were all attached to one another. They were also not very wide. I barely fit on them and I would say I'm pretty average sized. Second time visiting I was in the front row. I don't recommend it based on how high the stage is, you can't fully see everything. Next time I want to be close, I'll aim for the second or third row because of this. The bar is on both sides so if you go on the side with seats there is a much shorter wait. There are not a lot of bathroom stalls so prepare for a bit of a wait there. If there is a second show they close the bathrooms after the first show ends but you can go to any of the restaurants nearby and use theirs. read more

I came here for a comedy show...very nice venue, nice customer service, would definitely come back in the future. The only con is the walk you have to do to actually get there since it's in CityWalk. You could technically park at Hard Rock hotel, but it is still a long walk. read more

They also have plenty of workers around to ask if you need help. Some of the automatic things you ride (instead of walking) weren't working. The venue was nice, security & ticket check didn't take long. They had at least 5 lines for the bar so the wait for my $18 gin n soda wasn't long. The seats were comfy but way too close to each other. Even before COVID I would've said the same thing. Really not much leg or arm room. The bathroom was decent, could've been a bit cleaner. I went there for the 100Gecs concert! The staff there were so attentive and helped many people while I was there! Concerts can be overstimulating with all the body heat, vibrations, and loud music. They gave out water before the show as well. The concert itself was really fun and the audio equipment were clear! The lights bright and the transitions quick. It's a great spot to see your favorite artists. I didn't get the food because it is Universal and probably really pricey so I recommend eating outside of here unless it's a special night! There's a fun place called the Hot Dog Hall of Fame nearby if you want the 2 foot long hot dog, great for like 4 people. It's also just funny seeing the long hot dog and it's not that expensive! I recently came here to see George Lopez's comedy stand up show. I had never been to Hard Rock Live before and from the outside it looks huge, but once inside that's not exactly the case (not that it's a bad thing). The seating arrangements were chairs with no arm rest that were locked into one another so it was an "intimate" setting. Your personal space will be tested even for the average sized person, but it's not the worst thing ever. What I liked most is not only did they have a bar inside, but food was sold there as well. Think chicken wings, nachos and french fries and that's without going to the restaurant directly. I wish I had known that in advance since I was starving and chose to eat at a "quick" Universal City Walk eatery only to pay about the same, if not more, and rushed to get to the show. I could have eaten inside, calmly and in my seat already. Overall, the show was great, I was impressed with the food and liquor options available throughout the show and I can definitely see myself coming back here again. read more

This was a great venue to eat, drink, and enjoy a show. The restaurant was packed as expected since this location is part of Universal Studios City Walk. Seeing that there was a wait, the bar was a great option to quickly get food and drink service. Once seated, the super sweet bartender with two studs face dermals. She was very attentive and had great advice about Hard Rock and Universal Studios. The chicken nachos were huge and crazy yummy. The beer selection was good. The atmosphere was fun. Anytime our drinks needed refreshing , she did a great job of quickly refilling or making a fresh cocktail. She kept the bar area clean and had good conversation. Very polite. The entire bar staff was friendly when walking through or checking on how the food or drinks are. The missing star is for the sound at the live venue. Paid for nice second level right on the edge. Came for a corporate event which was a private concert. We first ate in the dining area which is littered with memorabilia of all the famous musicians in history. Cool decor but I am not much of a rocknroll guy anyway. The concert hall was intimate and fun. They had tables set up in the ground floor for everyone to stand at too. Really fun time. Never really had to wait for a drink either but it was a smaller group and only beer/wine. Not sure how many shows a year they have but I would come back. I have been an avid concert goer since i was 13yrs old. I have seen almost every genre of music and been to more than 30 different venues. I saw my first concert at Hard Rock Live after moving to Orlando full time a year ago. This is an awesome venue!! Very good sound quality and still small enough to give a very personal feel with the bands. I have now seen three different shows and my experience keeps consistent if not better each time. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The wheelchair accessible seating is positioned in a great location to ensure quality sound and easy vision of the stage uninterrupted by others standing during the shows. To top it off we found out that Hard Rock gives a discount in the cafe when we buy our concert tickets through ticket master. We now make a night of it each time with dinner, drinks, and a great show. Highly recommended for a good concert experience!! We will definitely be returning. read more

One of the better "small" concert venues in the Orlando area, I always enjoy a show here. Yes, you do have to deal with parking in the garage and a long walk (after 6:00 it's free for Florida residents unless it is a Halloween Horror Night), but look at what you get. Tons of venues to have a pre or post concert meal/drink. The recommendation here, make a reservation a week or two prior if you want to avoid the hassle of randomly coming in to a restaurant at a busy time. I have had great luck at NBC Sports Grill and Brew walking up, especially if they have the second floor bar area open. As for the venue, you just need to remember where everything is. The bathroom is to the right and down the stairs as you come in, which presents a minor inconvenience to get back to your spot on the floor. Merchandise is typically set up outside as to not hog room inside. The floor area is nice and large, bigger than House of Blues, and typically plenty of room to get up as close as you want to be provided you get there within a reasonable time of the concert starting. Overall, great sound, a great setup, and really an enjoyable experience to see your favorite band up close. read more

The Hard Rock Live Orlando overall is a pretty solid event that I'd recommend based on the event I saw there which was a comedy show. That being said, as far as acoustics for music, that I'm not sure. The venue is a decent size. Our show had chairs so I image they could squeeze a ton more people in if it was standing room only. I thought the venue was well taken care of. The bathrooms were clean which is a bonus to me and I loved the artwork, especially the photos of past shows that adorn the walls near the entrance of the venue. I had to go to the box office to get my ticket. That was a little slow, but they were friendly and once I was able to get waited on (and for their slow computers to work), I had my ticket and was on my way to the line to get into the show. The staff was friendly and the security was thorough enough to actually feel safe. They do play an emergency exit video prior to the show which is helpful yet terrifying, but it's better to be safe, right? I didn't get a drink that evening but I imagine it's pricey. The bar itself was rather large and for our event if you were VIP you had access to a VIP only bar which sped up the time. Living a few hours away from the venue it wouldn't be my go-to, but if called for, I'd definitely go back. read more

If I'm making a trip to Hard Rock Live, it's because they've booked one of my absolute favorite bands. I've seen three shows here in the last three years. The most recent, Mastodon - Eagles of Death Metal - Russian Circles, was a phenomenal show that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's hard to rate a music venue, since my sole reason for going to one is to see a live act. The place can be a total shit hole and it wouldn't matter. Honestly, the venue is trivial to me. However, the Hard Rock is a solid venue. Dare I say, solid as a rock? It's well kept, filled with history, and the acoustics are generally on point. The first two shows I saw here, I raved about the overall sound. My most recent experience seemed a tad off. Still, it's open enough where the floor is a fun environment to watch a show and get thrown around \m/ Like others have mentioned, the parking lot is light years away. And if you're there earlier than 6pm, they'll still charge you $20 for parking. It's almost a slap in the wrist for trying to get to a concert early, especially when most of the tickets are General Admission, aka first come first serve. These are the sacrifices you make for live music nowadays. If it means saying I saw Mastodon - Eagles of Death Metal - Russian Circles, then so be it.
