We ate here three different times during our stay at the hotel. The first time I sat down for lunch at a table with my sister and her 18 month old. We were walked past multiple times by many different waiters. After about 10 minutes, a waitress finally came to our table. After that the food came fast and she was great. Second time I returned with my Grandmother and we sat at the bar. We had a MUCH better experience! The woman at the bar helped us immediately and was very attentive. Third time we sat at the tables again and the same thing happened as the first time. We were walked by multiple times before someone finally stopped and waited on us. Both times they weren't busy at the pool or in the restaurant area. I would just suggest to be more attentive when you see guests enter the restaurant and make sure they've been waited on. read more

Menu is extremely limited for a JW Marriott. Pool side service is very slow. Food quality is overall pretty good. Tried the burgers and Mediterranean Bowl with grilled chicken and they were both very good! Chicken tenders however were awful and at $19, extremely poor value! 8 different drinks listed on their House Cocktails menu and none are available except the JW Margarita. Come on guys! The JW Margarita was very good if you add a Grand Marnier float but at $24, Grand Marnier float should be included. Over all, everything was overpriced but quality was good, not great. read more

I brought the kids here to eat before swimming in the amazing lazy river. This place has a very small menu but enough to get purgers or chicken fingers or maybe a turkey wrap. We did order some nice smoothies for the kiddos and mango margaritas for the adults. The service was good, nothing that is story worthy that I can write up here in this review. I will say that this place is a convenience for the pool guests and the food was good but nothing extraordinary. The hotel bar, Quench, located at the JW Marriott is perfect for when you're lazy and want a pool day, but that's about it. The menu is pretty small and really pricey. $16 got me an order of chicken tenders (5) and fries. The tenders were pretty good but the fries, which were shoestring, were cooked too much and had no insides to them. The server we had at the time was nice. We sat at the bar to eat and had table service when laying at the pool. The sell a reusable cup for $12 and it's good your entire stay and gets you fountain beverages (unlimited). The poolside service was good- they steadily stopped by to check on you. Watch- your bill with have 18 percent added on for gratuity, but fortunately they do tell you this. In terms of quality and variety, I would prefer to go offsite to eat but for convenience factor alone, I'll pay the price and eat in my lounge chair. Just charge it to my room. read more

Came to the JW Marriott for a conference and after eating in for the past 2 days, I decided I needed to feel the warmth of the sun so I went to grab some lunch at Quench. I ended up bumping into two of my co-workers so we all ate together. We started with the Tortilla Chips to share that came with Salsa and Guacamole. Pretty standard tasting and the salsa had a little more pepper than I would have liked. For lunch two of us ordered the Tuna Poke which is a salad that has avocado, cucumbers, soy, cashews, sprouts, sesame seeds over a wonton crisp with wasabi cream on top and the other ordered the Turkey BLT with fries. The wonton crisp in the Tuna Poke was not crisp it was actually a bit on the stale side and I thought the tuna was a bit salty for my taste. I ended up picking at the nachos to eat with the tuna to balance out the texture. But the presentation was pretty! The Tuna BLT looked pretty good and it was probably more poolside food than the Tuna Poke lol I would go back to check out their drinks to sip poolside since the view was nice :) read more

Great experience dining at Quench while staying at the JW Marriott. I strongly recommend. Pros: Fun atmosphere outdoors by the pool, broad menu, excellent staff I had the Farmer Greens salad with grilled shrimp and it was delicious with generous portions. My friends had the Char Grilled Grouper Sandwich and Quinoa Burger. They highly recommended both. For an appetizer, we went with chips and queso and were not disappointed. I am at the JW Marriott Grand Lake for a conference. I arrived early and spent most of the day in their amazing lazy river. When it was time for lunch I went to Quench because it was right there and it was comfortable for those who have been in and out of the pool. Prices are exorbitantly ridiculous. It's a really nice hotel in Orlando so that is to be expected. The staff was very friendly and took care of me immediately. I had been in the pool all day and didn't want anything too heavy. I ordered the Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They were amazing! Good quality chicken, veggies, cashews and the perfect level of spice. The lettuce was fresh and delicious. Overall quality is decent. It's a pool bar so you don't expect a lot. Didn't find the prices to be too expensive. They had a bucket of beer special wasn't that bad. However staffing poor at best. First day they had one guy servicing probably a hundred people in one side of pool. Got better but servers didn't patrol well to see flags (showing need something). Great place to watch the game. They have the NFL Sunday ticket and even though we are Ritz Carlton guests, we are welcome on both properties and can charge to our room. Call down in advance to reserve your game on one of the TVs Bloody Mary is delicious. Not too tomatoey and just the right amount of kick. Chips and salsa perfect accompaniment for game watching. Special "Tailgate menu" full of delightful junk like the pulled pork nachos (huuuuuge serving), brat, chili, and wings. Spicy fried chicken sandwich with candied bacon recommended by bartender. The food is about average for a resort pool side restaurant and priced a little higher than you'd pay for similar fare at a regular restaurant outside the resort. I can't understand why they close up so early, generally at 6:00PM, it would be a great place to hang out for drinks and some food after the sun has gone down. The Ahi burger is brilliant - think tuna and butter burger in a head on collision, and that's what you get. The buns are soft and buttered, and slightly grilled when you get it. The Ahi was seared and topped with a wasabi type sauce. Sides are custom chips or fries. It was so delicious, I went twice. This place gets four stars only because it operates from 11am until it doesn't get busy anymore...which is a fairly strange concept to me. Also, I tried having them deliver to my room (because I was lazy and it was raining) and they said that it wasn't possible; but that's fairly minor. Food was decent and relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of the options at the resort. Be warned there is no air conditioning it is an outside bar so it can be hot. I got the lettuce wraps which I will say was a decent portion for lunch I was not hungry afterwords. It had a bit of spice to it and was flavorful. My friend got the nachos or loaded tortilla chips and it was a large portion. I had a couple to try them and they were pretty tasty. Tip is included but they do tell you that when they bring your check, at least our waitress did. Completely casual it is a fun gathering place for friends and family by the pool. There is a full bar and burger type menus. It gets a bit crowded at regular meal times or on a sunny day so shooting for an off time will give you more seating options. However, you can order take out sitting by the pool if it is super busy. Prices are high but pretty much normal for a hotel pool bar. Fun, central spot! read more

Definitely not open to the public for lunch even though the website doesn't specifically say you have to have a room there to get food and drinks. Talked to the guard BEFORE even going in and he said ok then got approached when we were about to order food and drinks and told we couldn't be there unless we had a room. Explained that we did not know that policy as online it did not say anything about excluding the public. Need to post signs out front that say for guests of the hotel only. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, he let a woman in without her key because she said he husband was already in there. Guess it doesn't pay to be honest up front. One of the better hotel pool bars I've been to in a long time. The service as great, the drink options were plentiful and the food was fantastic. We stopped by twice during our stay and were very happy both times. Their beer selection is very good for a hotel pool bar and the prices are rather reasonable. They had a good selection of both local craft beers and the standard options and the staff was very helpful in making sure my glass was never empty. Both times I ordered the fish tacos and thought they were some of the better ones I'd had. Definitely recommend it overall, not to mention the many TV's they had available to watch any game that was on. read more

Staying at this hotel for an event. This hotel is great in most things but the poolside bar and grill. The restaurant/bar area really stinks. It smells like rancid alcohol and needs to be bleached thoroughly. You can't eat inside and then again with it being so stinky--do ya really want to order anything at all. We ate here three times and I'm so happy that it's a good quality "pool bar" restaurant with healthy options. The avocado and kale with citrus dip with corn chips is amazing and their salads (try superfoods and the greens with watermelon and feta) are soooo fresh and a healthy light alternative for those hot pool days.
