Let me start off by saying that It has always been a dream of mine to have hardwood flooring in my home. I've been living with grungy carpet for more years than you can count, but the idea of having to move all the furniture, and not to mention the cost, always made it seem like an impossible goal. Whenever I would express these concerns to various flooring dealers around Austin, (home depot, lowes etc), only Hardwood Bargains was truly able to ease my concerns. Their showroom (which more closely resembles an art gallery than a traditional flooring store, to be honest) was welcoming, had 100s of flooring choices, and the sales staff did not make me feel defensive - zero high-pressure tactics here which was really refreshing. Blake Chaffee was happy to answer what must've been at least 50 different questions on the different species of woods available, how durable each one is, how to properly clean them, and more. One more feature that really set HB apart was that they sent me home with free samples - not like the dinky ones you get from home depot - these things were basically a foot long. Really helped me visualize what I was getting myself into when I could lay the actual wood out in my house in all the different rooms. Once I had my color picked out (must've gone through 20 different samples haha) the next hurdle that always scared me about tackling this project came up - installation. This was pretty tricky in my case since I was putting flooring in basically every room, and I was living there at the same time. Talk about a lot of furniture to move. In any case, I had my doubts, but their preferred installer (Texas Flooring Professionals) made short work of the job. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of work, especially considering that they had to float multiple rooms (my house is on a concrete slab), did a glue down installation of nearly 1500 square feet of flooring, and installed all new baseboards - and they did all of this in 4 days! Seriously - started Monday morning, and by Thursday after work it was like no one had even been there. No furniture broken, no glue stuck to the walls, no nothing. All of this for basically half the price that lowes wanted to charge me. If you are looking for hardwood flooring in Austin TX (or anywhere for that matter, I'm told they ship nationwide as well) I cannot recommend Hardwood Bargains enough - Wish I could rate them 6 stars. Great company to work with! We're not local (we're in Vermont), so there was no way to drive and see things in a show room from HB. We worked with Justin, who sent us so many samples while trying to figure this out that I'm actually embarrassed (but we're making bird houses out of them, so there's that!) because we just couldn't find the right one... until the we finally found the perfect one! We are renovating our house, so we're doing a tear-out, and replacing everything (minus tile areas) with HB's 7.5" Hand Scraped Genoa White Oak. We're installing the floor ourselves. We've managed to finish a small sitting room, our bedroom, and small walk-in closet. We still have a ways to go with the other areas of the house, but we've done enough to give good feedback on the product and the company. Justin was easy to contact (when either he called, I called, or via email back and forth) and was very helpful as we went over details trying to figure everything out over an extended amount of time. We looked at many competitors, from big box stores to other flooring stores, so we didn't make our choice lightly. We went with HB because the flooring was superior, and honestly the customer service was over the top. Every technical, aesthetic, or other type of question was answered promptly and with a lot of patience, and they continue to check in even now - long after the order was delivered, to see how it's going and if we need help (and I'm sure we will when we get to the stairs!) If you're looking for flooring, they're worth looking through their website and ordering free samples so you can see the quality of the product. We ordered and even brought some with us when we looked at competitors. There IS a difference! It's been an easy install (ours involves glue, floating, and it's been fast and easy. It's the rest of the room and tearing out the old stuff that takes so much longer!) They back up their products from the lower priced to the higher ones (it didn't matter which one I was looking at), always acted in a friendly, absolutely NO pressure, patient manner with us. I would purchase again from them! (and I'm pretty picky! As evidenced by all the samples. Sigh. Sorry about that!) I have no criticism to offer about HB, from their customer service, their product quality and wide variety available, install ease, purchasing, delivery or anything else. In our quest for new flooring, Hardwood Bargains was exactly the store we were looking for all along -- even if we didn't know it existed. Austin has a multitude of local flooring mom and pop stores, and a couple of big box retailers. The locals had dismal selections at inflated prices, the big boxes had better selections and much better pricing, however their customer service was atrocious or non-existent. Enter Hardwood Bargains. We found their ad in a local magazine, and headed East to pay a visit. Although their showroom was not the easiest to find, our effort was more than paid in full. Their store is impeccable, with a wide assortment to choose from. We were immediately greeted upon entering, and were very lucky to have been assigned to Colin. We found exactly what we were looking for -- a natural-looking eucalyptus. The price was on point for our budget, and the flooring was available right then and there. While our kids shot a round of pool, Colin showed us to his office. It was a nice break from the crowds, and we were able to ask our questions with zero distractions. We learned quite a bit about the process and the materials from Colin in just a few minutes, and felt confident that we were making the right decision to go with Hardwood Bargains. Colin even recommended several local installers -- one of which we eventually settled on. We cannot recommend Hardwood Bargains enough. They really do set the standard for local, mainstream flooring retailers. They had a clean and attractive showroom, great service and expertise, awesome selection of flooring, and a great price. What else do you need, really? Fast forward a few weeks. We are very happy with the end result. The natural eucalyptus is exactly the look we were after. First off this company is absolutely amazing to work with. From the first contact until the beautiful hardwood floor was delivered they remained in constant contact! Lets recap the entire experience. Initially my wife and I have been looking at some hardwood flooring from local retailors. We just did not find anything in the price range we wanted. So we decided to start looking online. Boy are we happy we did! We stumbled across hardwoodbargains.com We initially accepted a few samples that were promptly delivered. When we opened up the box we were very surprised that they actually give samples that are way larger than the average sample you get at the big box stores. After we made our selection, Omar, our sales rep was able to quickly give us a quote based on the square footage that we needed. Omar also was very helpful with providing details on what the best way to install and prep the flooring. This made the install process that much less stressful. Finally after the ordering was done the delivery company contacted us before our targeted date and scheduled a time that worked for me to accept delivery. The delivery driver did a great job of getting the large amount of lumber into my garage and spent time with me to make sure that all of the boxes were inspected. With all that being said, we would use this company in an instant. Sadly, we won't have to for a long time because the flooring product is that good! When we recently purchased our home, it needed a face lift including all new floors. We new that we wanted hardwoods so we started ordering samples from all the major and minor players out there, I bet you that we had close to 100 samples. They all sent these tiny samples that made it hard to get a feel for how the floors might look on a large scale. Then my husband made one last attempt to find "THE ONE" and came across Hardwoodbargains.com he found several that were different than anything else we had seen in our price range so he ordered the samples. When the samples arrived less than 24 hours later we were shocked to realize that HWB were LOCAL! Plus their samples were twice the size of anything that we were sent. So we headed over to their beautiful showroom where we met Curtis. At the showroom they have large panels of all of their floors so you can see the grain and get a better idea of how these will look laid down. Just purchased hardwood floor materials from Hardwood bargains, and I am very pleased with their product and services. I live in Kingwood, Texas and was shopping for hardwood when i found the Hardwood Bargains website. I found a type of Engineered wood flooring that i love at a price that was lower than any of a similar quality that I found in Houston, during my visit to 5 stores, including some that came to my home Because of the Hardwood bargain prices, I was able to order enough materials to cover the entire first floor instead of the select rooms, i originally wanted to change. I inquired about delivered and within minutes the total estimate for purchase and delivery was emailed to me. Their price was still lower than any of the Houston suppliers, even after adding the cost of delivery from Austin to Houston, Delivery cost was actually cheaper from Austin than within Houston. I ordered immediately. The Flooring Specialist, Guy was vey thorough. He called to give regular update and teh materials were transported from Austin to Houston, Texas. Delivery was on time and the real hardwood looked better than pictures, I was elated. I am now in the process of installation and very excited and my family is too. What a blessing. These guys are great. Their products are very high quality and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. We did our whole house in hardwood, stairs and all since the cost was a lot less than we had anticipated with quotes from some other places. Now that it's done, it looks amazing. We have a fabulous hand-scraped floor in espresso birch! Working with them was a breeze too, we went to the show room and looked at all the options. We took home a half a dozen samples and when we had decided what we want we just called in and got the materials. They take credit cards so you can just buy your flooring over the phone which was very convenient (and we got points). They even extended a recent sale for us so we got a nice discount on top of already reasonable prices. I will go to them again when I need flooring material and would recommend them to anyone. I knocked off a star because of the installer they partner with. Those guys aren't as high quality as you might hope... They took a few too many shortcuts in our house and didn't seem to have any idea how long the job was going to take. Whenever I asked, the job was going to be finished that day. Four days later they left but I still had to call them back to finish off a few things they had left hanging. It's best to find your own installer if you're not doing it yourself. read more

I had a very successful experience with Hardwood Bargains. After receiving a lot of expensive quotes from different flooring companies, I came across Hardwood Bargains in my Google search. I was impressed by their highly favorable reviews on Google so decided to take a look at their products. I was truly impressed by their showroom. It is definitely the best one i have seen in town. It gives a very real impression of different floors. Donny (The flooring specialist who worked with me) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He gave me multiple samples of different woods to check them at my house. When I narrowed down my search to one specific type of wood (Acacia Cabernet), he gave me more samples of that wood such that I get a better feeling of it. I eventually ordered about 1000 sq-ft of Acacia Cabernet (and enjoyed the discount on purchasing 1000 sq-ft although what i bought was slightly less than 1000 sq-ft). The floors were installed a week later. I am extremely happy with the results. Great customer service and high quality products yet not over-priced. New to Austin, I was at a loss as to sub-contractors and sources for the materials I wanted installed. The recommendation of Hardwood Bargains by our Realtor has been a terrific answer for us. After our first visit to review options Zac Alba explained our options, showed us comparison flooring and provided us with samples of our favorites. Over the following 6 weeks Zac followed up with me. Arriving for our an appointment, Zac had gathered samples meeting our perimeters for review. Within one hour we selected our flooring. Zac expedited our order we were out the door selection, contract and payment within 1 1/2 hours! Three days later an additional contractor needed 4 boxes of the flooring for the secondary project. I phoned at 9 AM and Zac had the entire flooring delivered by noon that day. There were ongoing questions and several issues as installation began while I was out of town. A quick phone call to Zac and all was resolved quickly and the installers completed the job in 1 1/2 days. We replaced carpet with hardwood flooring in our new home in the 3 bedrooms and the living room / hallway with hand scraped walnut manufactured wood flooring and it turned out beautiful! The quality of the floor is great, we tried to scratch up a scrap piece with the back of a hammer and it was difficult to scratch up. Our floor has been in for about 2 months now and we have a big dog, and I have not seen any scratches yet! Also, Blake and the other employees I talked to were all very helpful when I had questions and they even checked in on us a few times to see how the floor was coming along. This was our first time laying wood floor, but a carpenter friend showed us the first few rows and we laid the rest on our own, it was easy. The website makes it easy to order the correct supplies in the correct amount, or if you're not sure the employees are very helpful too! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone, ours was delivered to Idaho and they put the pallets right in our garage. There are several companies out there that sell similar products but I wanted a company that would help me decide what was best for my project and explain my options. The customer service of this company does not disappoint! Donny Ross was our sales rep and he was amazing! He did a great job giving us several options to choose from and I never felt like he tried to oversell us on any product. The finished product and new floors looked great! I think HB is very good. Blake was always responsive to emails and phone calls. The strand woven bamboo we ordered was not in stock and had to be ordered and brought in from China. It took a lot longer to get it in, but that was not their fault. There was a long shore man strike on the West Coast so all the container ships were floating around the Pacific with no one to unload them. Stupid California. Anyway, when we did receive it, it was in great shape and we had our own installer put it in and it is gorgeous. Blake was good about keeping us informed (as well as he could) about when the flooring would arrive in Austin so that we could plan on moving our furniture out. He was also helpful in informing us on how long to let the wood sit in our home so that it would acclimate to the new humidity levels in our home (something our general contractor had no clue about). Oh, and pricing was much better for this quality of flooring than I had originally thought it would be. read more

We had a great experience with Hardwood Bargains. Joe was our salesperson, and he was very professional and knowledgable, and kept in contact with us during the entire ordering process. Our wood was delayed in customs for a couple of weeks, but Joe kept us updated on its status, and when it came in, it was exactly what we ordered and looks great. I will suggest you investigate your options for install, however. We went with their recommendation of Texas Flooring Professionals for installing our 1100+ sq ft of wood, and that was a must less than ideal experience. Although the installers did a fantastic job and the finished product looks great, I would never want to go through the headaches again with that company or the "project manager" there that we dealt with. With all that being said, however, I can absolutely recommend Hardwood Bargains for purchasing your wood. We were looking to do an accent wall with reclaimed wood in our new home. I researched different products but had a hard time finding a grey that worked. We also wanted a peel and stick product verses nails as our master bath is on the other side and did not want to hit a pipe! We purchased a house that was 2 years old. We discovered that the hardwood manufactured flooring had been installed around all the cabinets. As we were pulling out part of the closet system and had blank spaces in that room and also putting a whole room floor in which the previous owners had left as concrete subflooring for an artist studio, we were concerned that the flooring would match. We had a few flooring boxes left in the attic and worried about the match. Went on-line to find out who sold this product. They very speedily sent the samples, which looked perfect, 2 years later. The order was shipped timely and even an issue with damage from UPS was rectified very quickly. We ordered a bunch of wood for our 2nd floor from here. After looking at many places, we were pleasantly surprised to find this place. The person we worked with, Peter Cobos, was great from start to finish. He was very responsive, we had to return some of the extra wood and he made that literally a 5min thing - we pulled in, he tried to find someone to unload the material and when he didn't he drove the forklift himself, and that was it. The second thing we liked was the showroom - lots of samples on the floor. And third was the fact that when pretty much all wood showrooms were running low on supply, these guys had pretty much everything, I think they said they had their own manufacturers or something like that.
