I bought a certified 2017 Chevy suburban. I had two different shocks on the rear. Refused to replace until I involved gm and their general manager. Next my electronics went crazy. They blamed radio, while all instrument clusters were freaking out. Replaced radio. It happened again they said had to update radio. Never acknowledged its electronic. It's happening again. To top it off with 67500 miles on it my transmission crapped out on me 320 miles from home. Limited power train warranty ran out September 23rd. They gave me partial policy number on extended warranty I purchased. Also never honored the 12000 mile warranty just billed my extended warranty for electrical issues. Nor did the add the extended warranty to start after 12,000 mile one year warranty. I'm here without a car. 300 miles from home and can not get a rental car until a ticket is generated for repairs. No loaner from Dutch Miller Chevy either. Although I'm happy to say it's a day later now and my husband drove 8 hours to get us and drive us home. Still no ticket to get a rental unless it's my own expense. Waiting on a diagnosis and a estimate to be sent to Fidelity auto warranty. Pitiful $40 a day rental reimbursement on a platinum warranty I was sold. They also damaged my bumper in the service dept. last time it was there. Guy 4'11" drove my car out of the garage. Nice looking corner of a tool box dent covered with touch up paint. Accused me of it being a professional repair I had to turn into insurance. Horrible sales dept smiling when they twist the knife in your back. Smile at you in service and laugh at you when you leave! Mobil one is supposed to get 7500 miles to an oil change. Set at 2500. Don't buy their premium upholstery and paint protection. It's worthless and I'm sure it's a spray bottle of something as you can see the drips. My carpet has no water resistance and as far as paint protection it's just not viable. Rust in the inside of my rear passenger door step. Paint warranty ran out in 22. Go to Bloomington Indiana and check out their GMC dealership. This dealership was sold about 5 years ago and no longer has the families reputation behind it. $50,000 certified vehicle not even worth my $660 payments. I needed an oil change so I made an appointment at Hare Chevrolet over the phone. I showed up 30 minutes early to my appointment and was taken care of by Jeremy. My wait time was 2.5 hours. I was told mid wait that they had gotten backed up and for my inconvenience they were giving me a coupon for a mini detail for my Traverse. I thought the accommodation was appropriate. I'm not sure I'm a fan of waiting almost 3 hours, but considering covid safety precautions I will be a bit more understanding. Hopefully my next visit will be better. On 12/27/21 I paid Hare Chevrolet 6964.21 for new transmission and new tires. Before we left the dealership, we realized the remote start didn't work. The mechanic came out with a gadget and reset the remote start. We went to lunch and when we came out the restaurant we realized that the remote start didn't work again. We took the car right back to Hare Chevrolet. The next day on 12/28/21 Hare Chevrolet called and said the car would be ready that evening. Around 4pm Hare Chevrolet called and said my car had been totalled. The mechanic was test driving the car and someone t-boned my car. I have made a couple attempts to recieve my payment back. The GM says the service was complete and sent me a copy of my receipt. I have explained to the GM of Hare Chevrolet that I don't know if the service was complete because I had to return the car back to Hare. The GM feels that the person who totalled my car is responsible. I have explained to the GM the insurance company paid out what the car was worth, not for past or ongoing repairs. I had the car for 1 hr and 30 minutes before returning the car back. The car was in Hare Chevrolets possession when it was totalled. Outstanding Service Support I want to commend Service Writer Shea Stover for his professionalism and perseverance while dealing with a frustrated customer. I brought my car in for service repair when my "check engine" light came on; what I thought would be a relatively expensive repair, turned out to be three times more expensive! Do not go here for service. My last 3 times in the last two months have been absolutely embarrassing. Dropped off car for headlight out ($165.00) to change a bulb. But that was not the problem. I had to pick up the car the next day. I called at 9am to let them know I would be showing up at 6pm to pick up. Please please have my car cleared of snow. Even got a call back from Jason in service to assure me it would be ready. See photo. Has to wait 30 minutes for them to half way clear windows off. Was late to my meeting. 3 days later same bulb burned out. Had to take back in on a Saturday took 3 phone calls to get someone to call me back to confirm they could do this on a Saturday. Picked car up to find out they replaced bulb, but did not replace the plug that melted that bulb goes in. It is a 5 minute repair. Service manager called me back after I emailed GM to tell me to bring it back for the third time and they would replace the melted bulb socket....horrible service. Not to mention I had to spend $165.00 not one apology or anything. Same day dropped off equinox for an oil usage check out. WOW, has this dealership gone down hill since the Hare's sold the dealership to The Asbury Group. I took my car there since my ac stopped working. They had the car for a full week and not at any time the car was there did I have the dealership call me with any updates. I called them every day to check the status and was told they added freon and dye and could not find the leak. They told me to take the car home and when it runs out to bring it back!!! For what, to have them hold my car for another week and NOT FIX it. On top of this, I had an Enterprise car rental and dropped my rental car off and Hare on Thursday of last week and was instructed they would call Enterprise so they could come get it. Five days later (today) I get a call from Enterprise inquiring when I will be returning my car. So I got billed for 5 extra days of a rental cause Hare never followed through. Apparently their standard of providing service has changed and the new standard is to attempt to take advantage of their customers, as evidence of previous reviews. Recently went in for $40 Oil change per coupon from my email. Have had oil change here a few times and never had an issue. Recvd text saying my 2013 1500 Silverado was done and it was $70. Spoke with Jacob and he said coupon did not apply as they put 8 quarts in my truck. I said, "huh, it's only taken 6 quarts in the past, even when I've changed it" asked him to look up my last visit and he gave some line that the techs must've screwed up. So he tries to convince me my truck takes 8 quarts and I tell him it doesn't and he calls the techs and they confirm it was only 6.Then he tries to sell me $1200 repair on an oil leak.Like I have the confidence in anything he says at this point. I have no doubt this was an intentional overcharge attempt and assumed I would not question it and it's probably not the first time.I assume he didn't think it would be questioned.This dealerships integrity has really taken a nose dive. I really had the intention of writing an outstanding review! Saturday I was first in line to get my oil changed with an 8am appointment. Tyler was my representative and he was a complete gentleman, kind and informative. After I got home I noticed my sticker had not been changed, no big deal, but then I noticed I was still at 21% oil. THIS made me wonder if in fact my oil had been changed. I called and they said to come back but I would not be able to make it in time and decided to go on Monday. Sunday morning, I noticed there was oil leaking from my car and nothing I could do about it. Monday my son took my car back to HARE and hopefully the issues are resolved. I appreciate them being willing to resolve the issue, but someone should of checked prior to giving me my vehicle back. I will return because I've had more positive experiences than not. read more

It's pretty pathetic that in this day and age this still happens. I've ignored it, because the location and hours make it convenient. But I'm finished. My visit to Hare in September is officially my final one. I'm traveling and needed an oil change. So I stopped at a place in South Carolina. The technician brought me the oil drain plug which was so over-torqued that it needed to be replaced. My husband, who works on cars, was surprised it didn't cause any additional damage to the oil pan when it was removed. Hare Chevrolet is by far the worst dealership I have been to in the Noblesville/Fishers area. It took over a week to simply diagnose my vehicle with an OBD II reader, this is a process that takes less than 5min. I have never been to a dealership that is more dismissive of a paying customer than Hare Chevrolet. The service writers are abysmal and treated me like I was a moron, ignoring all my requests and questions. My dealer maintained Chevy has 60k miles and is already having major engine issues. The lackluster performance of this dealership and their vehicles has led me firmly to believe that chevys are an inferior product with a terrible support infrastructure behind them. Go buy a Subaru or something... at least their service writers didn't treat me like dirt. The Subaru techs went above and beyond to make sure all my requests were met and questions answered. The Subaru techs are so helpful they went as far as calling the engineers at Subaru to help me diagnose an issue that a normal dealership doesn't deal with. Please do not spend your money at Hare Chevrolet, go to any other dealership around the area. read more

I believed I had a plan that would provide 4 oil changes/rotations in the first two years of ownership. Given that I drive quite a bit I took the approach of alternating my service between these already covered 'events' and just a basic oil change with a local, trusted mechanic. I arrived expecting to use my third Oil Change only to discover that I'm no longer covered by my plan because I had 25,000 miles on my car so my plan was expired. My purchase experience was very unprofessional. I sat in the waiting room for almost two hours in October 2014 until it was finally my turn to complete my paperwork. By that time the rest of the building was dark and the sales manager was just shoving paperwork at me to get out the door. There was no mention of the plan expiring after 24,000 miles. Of course, since Hare is the mastermind of selling, selling, selling I was offered a new plan I could purchase that would not expire based on miles..... for a moment.... I almost bought it. And then I got angry. Why do I want to purchase again some oil changes I had already paid for. No Thanks!!!!! My car wasn't fully clean from the 'free wash' either. I currently own 4 GM vehcicles. I have owned a total of 14. I usually keep them for 6-7 years before getting the next. I hope all dealerships aren't the revneue generating, customer exploiting machines that Hare is or I'm done with GM. Clearly I won't be going back to Hare for anything other than recalls. One other reason why I won't go back to Hare. They sold my cell phone number to a vendor trying to sell maintenance plans. This was a work cell phone number that I had given them in case there were any issues on the day of the pickup. I don't normally give that number out for anything other than work and didn't understand where this spam was coming from. This review is specifically for the service department and for anyone considering work done there. I have had work performed several times in the past. I have never purchased a vehicle from here. Stopped in for an oil change Sat. AM. It's like a stampede of cattle when they open the doors but they are incredibly well staffed. In and out on the oil change on Saturday in about 40 minutes. I forgot to ask them about a discount card I had received but they applied it at checkout without me even asking - well done. They will attempt to up sell you on services (wipers, etc.) Most of what they told me about I was already aware so I appreciate the thoroughness. Many months ago I needed to go in for some repair work and the up sell when I'm already spending $700 is not really appreciated. I get it...but c'mon. I will be back - even in light of those annoying radio commercials, ha. Work I had performed in the past (not oil changes) was done to expectation as well. (Some additional background - can't remember if I read it or heard it on IBJ but the owners have made a concerted effort to focus on the service department and being proactive to improve their business model. Expect to receive (I have) follow up calls saying "you haven't been in in XX months, how can we help, due for this, etc." Staff is very attentive and this philosophy really shows. After I confronted them they said "sorry we topped it off". This time I made a 10am appointment. I brought my 2011 Camaro SS in for recalls. I had received notices from GM, OnStar as well as Hare Chevrolet advising that my car had some recalls that needed my attention. I had even received a phone call from the Hare inquiring if I had gotten their notice on the safety recalls. I do appreciate that as many would send a letter and let that be it. So I got my car in on 7/22 and I was met by Tyler who is a service writer and the thing I like about the Hare service department is that they have service specialist who know you and know your car which is important. My car is more than just a car to me and I've probably invested several thousands of dollars above the cost of the car, so I have a significant investment here and they recognize that. Certain service people will take care of my car knowing what I've done to it. Tyler asked what brought me in, said he would take care of my safety recalls along with my needed nitrogen tire check and all this was done in a very timely manner for a non scheduled appointed. My car was paper matted and plastic on the seats and was retuned to me as I delivered it for the service. A detail explanation was given on the service done and I was directed to the checkout and where to pick my car up. By far this is the best dealership I've ever had experience with and I've had quite a few between the numerous cars I've owned as well as the cars I've had to take to dealerships for warranty work for the Indiana State Police. In addition I was amazingly surprised with the renovation that has been done at Hare. The show room is bright, open and very appealing. The service wait room has been rearranged, new furniture, TV, a work top area for the laptop folks and just a pleasant place to wait. The only thing I missed if they have one is a charging station for devices. It would be nice to have a station with multiple cords available that one can put a quick charge on their phone or tablet. The service department was just as clean in the entry area as the rest of the dealership. All the service writers where clean, uniformly dressed and pleasant. New equipment in the entry checks tires, alignment, braking and some other things. This new system was explained to me and I was impressed! They, Hare is the only dealership to have this and the workers are very proud of it. I was so impressed I even took pictures of the ramps that do this vehicle check and posted it on Facebook under my Indy NexGen Camaro Club page. Also while I was waiting in the customer wait area, I was greeted by the director of Marketing Ally Conner who came to say hello and once the pleasantries were exchanged, she took me on a little tour of the show room. Talked how I'd look good in a new Camaro Z/28. I told her that though I had $76K in my investment account and I know I'd get top dollar on my current Camaro, I don't want to trade it with so much put into it but when I'm in a position to get a new Camaro, especially a Z/28, I WILL order it from Hare. Trust! This by far is the leading dealership in Indiana. I feel like a known person when ever I'm there. Those who know me speak including the owners who call me by first name and those who don't know me, they still speak as though they do. Kinda reminds me of the church I used to attend where the Bishop said "Welcome to Christ Church, where everybody is somebody, and nobody is a stranger!" Same thing at Hare. The response was always we know there is an issue but can't figure out what is causing it. The service department is a joke. The flip side is they have an amazing salesman. *********UPDATE ***** 08/04/2017 Received phone call from general manager Jason, without me saying much he is refunding me the full amount I paid on 07/21/2017. I never requested a refund, nor did I expect a refund. I just wanted to make them aware of how frustrated and misguided I had felt. He made it very clear they are not in the business of taken advantage of their customers, and wanted to rectify the situation. Probably won't visit their service department again, but will definitely continue to use their rental service, and maybe purchase another car in the future. **************************** I originally purchased a 2013 Chevy at Hare Chevrolet April 2016. June 2016 the check engine light coming on, took the car in June 16, 2016. I let the service advisor at that time know that I had researched the symptoms of what was going on and thought maybe the negative battery cable may be an issue. I was later told the issue was caused from the negative battery cable which was replaced free of charge. Fast forward to June 2017 the check engine light started coming on intermittently. July 3 the check engine light stayed on with the car having a problem accelerating. Later that same day the car off would not start at all unless jumped. July 9 I took the car to Pep Boys and was told the battery and alternator needed to be replaced, which they did. After picking the car up on July 11, the check engine light came on again July 12. At that time I took my car to two places. Auto Zone, where the code given was "P0404", with a private mechanic (licensed), telling me the code he received was an ECM, emissions issue. At that point I made an appointment with Hare Service Dept. On July 14 my car was dropped off at Hare. At that time I spoke to the service advisor and informed him of everything that had taken place, I let him know that the check engine light was not currently on and asked would they still be able to complete the diagnostic check. He stated that it would just depend and they would not know anything till they ran the diagnostic check. Later that same day I received a phone call from stating the negative battery cable needs to be replaced as well as the car needing a fuel induction service (fuel tune). I was given an estimate of $431.04 ($208.58 for the negative battery cable, $189.49 for fuel induction service, and $25.00 shop fees and 7.97 for taxes) and. At that time I let him know the negative battery cable was replaced June 2016 by Hare. I asked was it truly replaced last year and if it was why it was already faulty. At that time he asked if he could see what he could do for me and give me a call back, upon the call back he let me know that Hare would take care of this whole bill as a courtesy. I picked my car up on July 17, on the evening of July 20 my check engine light came back on. July 21 I called Hare and spoke to a young lady who told me I could drop the car off that same day. Dropped the car off on July 24 received a phone call not even 2 hours later from the service advisor stating the purge valve needed to be replaced. I was quoted $36.11 for parts, $112.50 for labor (which would take an hour and a half) and shop fees the initial estimate was $205. Upon picking my car up on July 27 I requested to speak to the service manager. During my conversation with service manage I specifically asked him how a negative battery cable could go bad within a year. He stated that Chevy has had issues with the negative battery cable which is why they complete the service for free. (I originally was going to get charged 208.58 for battery cable on the 14th). I also asked how come this purge valve issue was not caught previously, considering I had the same issues each time. I was told each time the diagnostic report gave off different codes, and they can only work off the codes given. (July 14 I specifically asked for the codes from the report, after going through the report I was told the diagnostic check could not bring up the exact codes. Ironically, my invoice from the July 14th shows "DIAG DEFAULT".) After realizing he would continue to lie to my face I paid my invoice of $271.75 . Later in the day I called Hare to speak to the general manager who I was told was in a meeting. I then requested to speak the "Service Solution Manager", who was also in a meeting. After making a formal complaint with the Chevy corporate office, I now have an open case with the "Chevy Dealer Relations". All I wanted was clarification on what was done and why the issue was not caught previously. But the lack of communication, honesty, and knowledge on behalf of the Hare Service Dept., I now feel as if I am owed at the least an apology. read more

I am leasing a brand new Cruze from Hare. I noticed a bubble in the front tire after I had the car for about 2 weeks. I called and no one did a thing. I then took the car in for an oil change and after being treated rudely by the mechanic, I showed him the tire. He (again) rudely stated that it was my fault and they were not responsible for the tire. This week I took the car in for it's 9k mile oil change. this time the mechanic pointed it out to me (I didn't say anything this time, I wanted to see what they would say). The female attendant asked the male if she should rotate the tries, and his response was to be sure to put it in the back. They know the tire is unsafe and they know I did not do anything to that tire, but will not stand behind it. I spoke to the salesman that I bought the car from. He asked me if I was still fighting this issue and he remembered me reporting the tire a long time ago. No, I do not recommend this dealership to anyone......male or female. If they won't replace a $50 tire, imagine if it were something more expensive!! read more

He listened. He advised. He gave me peace of mind that my plan would work. He spent more time with me than all the others in the previous 4 purchases. My husband and I have been taking our 2014 Chevy Cruze in to Hare Chevrolet for many years. The first time I was very impressed with our service, as they placed me in a vehicle and had me keep my rental for a few days while they ensured to fix our issues. After about a week they said it was good to go and covered under warranty so rental was free as well. I was very pleased. About a month later the car started the same issues again. Returned back to Hare, repeated the same process as before with rental and repair and claimed all fixed. Maybe a few months later, same issues again. This had gone on for about 3 or 4 years and MULTIPLE services later, including replacing the head gasket multiple times and other engine issues. Eventually my husband contacted Chevrolet themselves to discuss this issue. They ensured they would contact Hare and have the issue resolved. Issue was resolved again for maybe a few months and back at it again. We ended up finding a local mechanic and he was able to replace a catalytic converter on the vehicle and that worked as a fix for awhile. Hare, that same month had to replace the turbo in the vehicle as it was still covered with warranty. Finally, this year on our way home from a trip the car totally stopped wanting to work and we made it home and took it to Hare again. At this point we were 2k miles over our powertrain warranty miles (so out of warranty). After having the car almost 2 weeks this time, they say they have all the answers to what had been wrong and what they need to do. Roughly a 3k fix. This entire time while under warranty, no answers were able to be found and no fix was working. 2k miles over our warranty and magically there is roughly 3k worth of answers. We tried to explain that they had been working on our car well over a hand full of times and the issues were never resolved so why would it not be covered. No one seemed bother by that. The service employee argued with me about it on the phone and laughed when I told him my concerns. After this, we pick up our car and refused the services they suggested. We then took it back to the local mechanic. He explains the vehicle needed a $19 heat sensor and that alone fixed over half of the issues. After more testing he sees the car is showing signs of a bad catalytic converter. Keep in mind he just replaced it less than a year ago. He then proceeds to take it off so he can see what's wrong and then do a replacement for us. He notices the catalytic converter he was taking off was NOT the one he had put on last year. The one he put on was an after market from o riley and the one that is on there now is a much older chevy stock cat with the heat sensor on it. Last service on the car was Hare replacing the turbo. At this time it appears Hare had replaced our turbo along with our Cat without our knowledge and replaced the Cat with a MUCH older one. My husband contacted Hare to Express his concerns and was initially told "I am not going to look this up right now, its 5 o'clock and I have customers waiting". A little while later Hare calls back and refused to look into what his concerns were. Just repeated themselves that Hare wouldnt do that and nothing shows that they did anything. It is extremely immoral and extremely disappointing that a place with such a big name would treat people so badly. I do know we will never go there again for service or car buying. read more

I was very anxious to go to a car dealership for a code 7 cylinder misfire in my 2011 Chevy Silv.. Engine light was on. Took 6 hours total; with how busy they were was pretty impressive. Always scared a dealer will lie and say that repair you're getting isn't part of your coverage but they were honest. Fixed the problem for free. Great Customer service the whole time. Even offered a free shuttle which I used. For free. Honest dealership which is very rare nowadays. Travis Fuchs took care of me completely and genuinely. Will come here from now on. read more
