This was such a nice market. My parents recommended it to me so we stopped by. The vibes are very nice and trendy. The people at the counter did try to rush us through a bit but it was busy. The have a bunch of option from the meat counter to the deli. Seafood, produce, wine, charcuterie, everything. I got their cranberry pecan chicken salad and red skin potato salad. I loved it, I had it for dinner. My dad got pork chops from their meat counter and it took a bite and it was a nice cut of meat. You can get food there too and eat it upstairs, it really is a nice place to check out and get some good food. read more

This place is exceptional. I have had meat (to grill) from the market but had not eaten lunch there until this week. Food was outstanding. I had the roast beef sandwich with side salad (excellent ranch dressing) and my mom had the carnivore salad. Her salad was huge!! She took almost half of it home! The meat is fresh and tasty. I cannot recommend a butcher / specialty food store more highly than Haren's. Their service and quality of foods are impressive - but what will make you want to return is the rotating selections. Essentially the best spices, seasonings, sauces, produce, dairy, deli, baked goods, and meats available. Saturday morning I stopped in to purchase the entree for a birthday dinner party that evening and received the best service. My request for a whole beef tenderloin was cheerfully met with an offer to trim it or cut it into steaks. I delightfully accepted and even though cutting 12 out of the 7.5 pound beauty meant for small portions - they confirmed with me and expertly prepared my order on the spot. While they worked, I browsed for a nice sidekick for the steaks - a creamy horseradish sauce. The quality of this beef was impeccable. I prepared the 12 beauties to 131 degrees F for a medium rare result in my sous vide precision cooker for 2 hours and 30 minutes and seared them all in a cast iron grill pan with some olive oil. They were fantastic. Everyone raved about these tender, perfect steaks and the dinner was a great success. Haren's is my favorite secret ingredient! read more

This place is like a tiny, small town, Trader Joe's meets your local restaurant and meat market. It's right off the town square, so location is superior. They have a decent selection of wine and beer. They have a fantastic meat selection, great quality at fair prices. They have a decent lunch and deli. They also have a very fabulous upstairs that is excellent for dine in. They've probably got seating for 50 people, it's a quiet atmosphere great for studying. It has great big windows looking out on the Square, letting in sunshine and life. It's a very friendly atmosphere. read more

This is my very first time visiting Haren's Market. They have such a great selection of meats. I wanted to try their food so I bought a Italian Sub. It was so tasty and fresh! The service was quick and easy. They took my order at check out, handed me and number since I was dining in. They have seating upstairs with plenty of chairs and table. The view of downtown Troy is really nice upstairs. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a quick lunch bite to eat. The lunch portion was sized well! read more

Breakfast has been poor twice now. Food has become replaced with cheap ingredients that quite literally was gross. Food that is supposed to be warm is cold. Table was dirty. I absolutely love this wonderful urban market in Troy, it's a classy place and everything here is high quality with a lot of attention to detail. We love to shop there on Saturdays and have a drink in their outside patio or upstairs. We highly recommend their Bloody Mary's on Saturday, they come with a skewer full of goodies... get their early, they start selling them at 8 am until they are sold out and they've been sold out before 1 PM. Service here has always been wonderful, their staff has gone out of their way to help us find what we are looking for on several occasions and their meat is exceptional. We stopped here to pick up some meat to grill this weekend as we have a bunch of times. The beef is fresh, tender and delish. We typically pick out some sirloins and they grill up wonderfully. They also carry an assortment of veggies and some good types of cheese. I love there southwest sauce made by Saucy Sows and Haren's is the only place I've found it. We went to Haren's last Saturday while we were out Christmas shopping. It's a great little shop. Bought some beautiful short ribs. The meat counter people were friendly and helpful. Now for the bad news. I went to check out and laid my items on the counter. There was one woman standing there reading something: it wasn't obvious that she was the only cashier as there were other employees nearby. She finally looked up; I said a cheery hello, she stared at me and finally pointed to her side of the counter and flatly said, "I'm over here". We're talking about two feet away! I moved my items to her side: she didn't lift a finger. That rude, middle aged grinch put a damper on our day for no reason. I'll wish her Merry Christmas anyway. Maybe I'll just go to Dorothy Lane Market from now on. read more

This place is outstanding for quality food, especially the meat, amazing variety and unbearable service.

We've been customers & fans of Haren's Meats for years, & were excited for the new location to open even though it's a tad farther for us to drive. The new store is absolutely beautiful, it's a perfect "cornerstone" business for the downtown & the interior design features are gorgeous. Haren's is now more of a true market, with lots of additional grocery items, a few desserts, & even some nice gifts. The meats & deli items are top quality. A few of my favorite items from the meat case are: low fat ground round that's 95% lean, delicious stuffed pork chops, thick sliced bacon, pickled eggs, and brisket burgers. Their bacon & brisket burgers are the best I've had anywhere. We've always been fans of the fresh Wesler's cider & Harzler dairy products, especially the eggnog. For Thanksgiving they had a bunch of pies from Stevens Bakery & Orchard. Our family is hooked on the pecan brittle and we enjoy the festive sugar cookies too. Many of the items they sell are locally sourced from family operations just like theirs. I love that! We've lunched there twice now, & their sandwiches are really good. My favorite sandwich so far is the veggie, which has tons of fresh vegetables, red pepper hummus, and a very flavorful dressing. Their sandwiches are huge, too! One sandwich is enough for two people. The veggies, bread & all the toppings are supremely fresh. Did carry-out once; they had our order ready quickly & packaged up everything in nice cardboard boxes. Dined in today. There are a few seats downstairs & several more on the second floor. The upstairs area is beautiful. The views in every direction through those amazing windows were just fantastic. The dining area was clean, & the owners themselves were delivering food & busing tables. We'll be regulars here for lunch. I can't wait to watch it snow outside those windows while we sit inside cozily sipping a hot bowl of soup! :) I love this place, and highly recommend stopping in for groceries or a quick meal. I grilled out the Waygu ribeye and new your strip. It's expensive but worth the splurge. We are lucky to have this place in the Troy area. This meat market has a large variety of meats but their prices are unreal. It is not just the pricing on meat but also Items in the store. $7.00 salad dressings. . $18 for coffee. One of the filets, $45 a pound. I know meat is high but their meat is higher than most. I like the setup and things look good just way too high for my budget. If you can afford the prices it is a nice place. Clean and well taken care of. They are extremely busy at certain times and sometimes kind of hard to find a parking place. All of that is nice but this review is mainly based on the one product I had, the Haren's House Sausage, which is terrible. I dont know if someone mistook sugar for salt but this was nothing more than ground pork and sugar, no seasoning, no spices. I made patties out of it and rolled it in pork loin, both cases left a solid layer of burnt sugar on the meat and pan over medium to medium high heat. If this is the base of all the other sausages they are selling then they need to go back to the drawing board. Stick to their butchered meats, avoid anything they make in house. read more

My wife and I were in Troy for the Strawberry Festival, and popped into Haren's Market for a break from the crowds and a nice lunch. We were not disappointed. This place is so quant, and the grocery looked top notch and super clean. If we lived in the area I would definitely visit the butcher shop and deli. You can order sandwiches and other lunch items at the front register, then take a number and head upstairs to grab a table. It's super cozy up there, and it has a great view of the town square - perfect for the festival! We grabbed a spot by the window and a server brought our lunch to us when it was ready. I had a turkey club with gouda, avocado, and micro greens, and my wife went for the Italian sub with various deli meets, fresh mozzarella, and all the regular toppings. Both were yummy, and quite substantial. You will not leave hungry, and next time we will probably spit a sammie. I had a strawberry lemonade (of course), and my wife got an Ohio-made strawberry milk from Amish country. All in all a perfect lunch in an adorable setting. A solid 5. read more

It's strawberry festival time. For us that meant a strawberry lemonade at Haren's market. We also ordered a strawberry shortcake. While snaking in a social distancing required line to the register we found fresh ground pepper, some champagne strawberry jam, and a hot buffalo sauce. The strawberry shortcake was a bit of a wait, but we received a refund on it. Overall a fun little market that I look forward to visiting after social distancing ends in much more detail. read more

I had the Bagel breakfast sandwich this morning and I must say it was the best breakfast sandwich I have had. My biggest problem was trying to eat it while driving to work using one hand. We bought scallops today. I cut them in half, lightly breaded them, and sautéed. The scallops were sweet, fresh and absolutely delicious. I had given up on buying scallops at the grocery store because they had a detergent taste, probably from a preservative These scallops are the real deal!! We also bought swordfish. This location is fun, exciting and they have many things to choose from. We bought the short ribs, several different canned and bottled items as well as the deli meat. I went into Haren's Market on 6/9/2022 at 652 hrs, PM and hours sign says they close at 700 PM. I walked in with two other customers and we were all turned away with the employee claiming "the kitchen was closed". I am disappointed in a small business that would turn away customers from there own small town. read more
