The venue is so beautiful - with stonework, greenery, and a rustic elegance that encapsulates the feeling and the vibe of the area. As soon as I stepped onto the property, I knew this place was the one for us. Plus it is family-run, making it warm and welcoming. Every detail in their renovations and planning has been carefully thought out. We were able to have our welcome reception, wedding, and farewell brunch all at Fox Briar - which made logistics easy, and a handful of our closest family and friends at the Inn for the weekend. Donna made the planning process easy and kept everything running smoothly the day of. Kendall is an incredible innkeeper and made everyone feel welcome and cared for - and her baked goods are to die for! The Inn itself is super clean and comfortable - all the rooms are beautiful but the bridal suite in particular is gorgeous and truly special. It was a perfect set-up for our family and friends in every way, and we could not have asked for more. Although my plan was to stay in New Hope for the night, the only availabilities were located outside of NH. Doylestown is located about 15 minutes away from New Hope. I consider myself lucky that we couldn't find a place in New Hope as our stay in Doylestown at HF was the best part of our little getaway. The innkeeper, Christine is beyond lovely and caring. She is friendly and more than helpful in making sure our say was nothing short of perfect. She cooked us a terrific breakfast of blueberry pancakes. Major yum! The B&B is about a 1 minute walk from the downtown area which I highly recommend, in my opinion, it was more enjoyable than New Hope. The stay also comes with some american history. This was the home of Oscar Hammerstein where he wrote his most famous works. You could definitely sense some musical magic within the walls. Highly recommended for a great weekend or night of relaxation and comfort in Bucks County. We will be back!

This is our romantic getaway place -- and could be yours too. We love the area and have spent many…read morehappy times in Bucks County -- so much to do. This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. Beautiful grounds filled with all sorts of plants. There were so many flowers and plants blooming wonderfully so! Everything from corn to Dahlia! Lots of paths to walk around and get your steps!! There was also some very nice bands there performing by the covered seating. You could buy all kinds of seeds for $1.50 a packet! What a deal ! Every employee and/or volunteer were salt of the earth kind hearted . If you were tuckered out after a long day of fun, they also had mini golf cart rides to take you to the exit of the grounds and you can walk to your car freely . I would definitely come back to this place. It's wonderful to do some thing that is so meaningful to this county. The Burpee seed company is special & Mr. Burpee was great friends with author Pearl S. buck, who also lived nearby in Bucks County. I recommend it for locals and out of towners.

Once there, the long parking line situation was a blessing as it somewhat kept the crowd sizes not too crazy. Weather was good and the grounds were nice to walk around. They had some food trucks and a medium sized tent so you can take your food and eat (empanada man truck was quite good, as was the band that had the standup bass). They had quite a variety of plants, the kitchen garden was pretty neat for instance. The Stumpery was also pretty interesting, with old tree stumps covered in moss for instance. Overall a neat walk around a farm you can't typically access, hopefully they will consider opening up more for say a teaching partnership or limited event space, etc.

We just moved here. We had never been there in our lives. The property is perfectly maintained, makes quite a statement, and the new converted barn was my dream barn. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet all the sheep on the property. If any guests come to visit us in our new home in French Town, we're going to recommend they stay there in one of the cottages possibly or the in itself so that they can have the ultimate comfort and the elegance. They would expect in an overnight that I fear, our guest room will not lend itself to. I want to get married again so I can get married there! I want to eat there once a week! Gratitude to my niece who we asked for a recommendation of where we should eat for a nice meal to celebrate my husband, after a big achievement. She has lived here for three years and as a trained nutritionist and chef herself. She said the only place you should go is the Woolverton Inn and its New Restaurant. She will be receiving a gift! Lastly, I was so overwhelmed upon entering the restored barn that I forgot the name of the elegant man who received us with such grace. He's a gracious host and constantly circulated the room keeping an eye on the flow with light personnel suggestions ( potato soup with lobster next time! From what I understand, they recently renovated and added the restaurant to this historic building. You have to come and check it out for yourself. The food was incredible with big portions. The servers were extremely nice and attentive. I'm so thrilled to add this as one of my new favorite places.
