Rude, hostile, confrontational, and openly unwelcoming, she creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for anyone who isn't part of her preferred circle. I've watched customers get treated poorly simply because they rubbed her the wrong way. When a bartender's attitude becomes the most memorable part of the experience, that's a problem. I've ignored it before, but after repeated incidents directed at both me and my boyfriend, it's clear this isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. In Hoboken, customers have dozens of bars within walking distance. Hospitality isn't optional; it's survival. Making paying customers feel unwelcome is a bold strategy in a town where people can easily take their money elsewhere. Management should remember who actually keeps the lights on. Customers are hard to replace. Bartenders aren't. If this is the culture you're choosing to tolerate, don't be surprised when people choose to spend their money somewhere they're actually welcomed. I did happen to stop in there on a recent weekend afternoon, however. I immediately knew what I wanted to drink, a Bloody Mary.
