    Outdoor patio

My favorite hidden gem brewery in Manhattan. The outdoor patio in the back is so private that you forget you're in the middle of the LES. This place is great for groups-- the beer flights are affordable and they have tons of board games on hand. I had my birthday there with ~20 friends and it was the best!! They reserved some tables for us and later that evening there was a cute comedy show. Sooo sad they're temporarily closed right now :(

I had no idea that such a great brewery was hiding in my neighborhood. Boy, has this area come a long way from bakeries and hair salons. Frankly glad to see it's not another "art gallery." But I digress, this microbrewery is awesome. The staff is friendly and they give you a free sample flight when you first come in. The space is great and includes an awesome back patio. All beer is brewed on premise. They're only open Friday-Sunday and until 8pm so plan your day accordingly. My personal favorites are the toasted coconut and the ginger beer. They have food here as well. This really is a great addition to the area.

The have a small selection of very unique and tasty beers! You can get a glass or do their flight. I've very much enjoyed the flight for variety. Outdoor seating in the back so don't let the location make you think there's no outdoor space. Huge space in the back! Great for a couple or groups but everything is well spaced. They have portable heaters and curtained the sides to prevent wind which was super smart! They have a good selection of fried beer food like fries which are so good! Super crisp and hot. They offer regular or seasons. Tried their fried pickles and fried fish cakes too. All very good, fried to perfection. Comes with sauces that pair well each item too. Service was super nice. Came here twice already. Will come again!

This is a great addition to the area, but some may argue that having a brewery in Chinatown is the epitome of gentrification... Apparently, this has been six years in the making. It's unfortunate that it finally opened during a global pandemic. I enjoyed the four beers they had! I'm usually not an IPA fan but the ginger IPA was very good. The coconut potion was my favorite. The lychee red and pumpkin beers were ok but I was expecting to taste the fruit more... The food options were ok. Definitely come for the beer (or order to go!) and support this new business!

What a gem! A local brewery in the middle of Chinatown with some exotic flavors. The brewery is closed during the week as that's when production happens but they open to customers on the weekend and you can even get a tour from the owner. Flavors are also seasonally based so be sure to visit them on a regular basis. We came here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a free flight of tasting from the bartender. Based on that, I went with the lychee red. But don't worry, the lychee taste is very subtle, if you were worrying about that. There is a nice backyard with high chairs to consume your beer and snacks. The alcohol concentrate is pretty high, FYI.

When I heard about That Witch Ales You, I was so excited to come try it! Came in with a pretty big group on an early Saturday evening. We were immediately greeted by the owners, Paolo and Rose. They were really kind, knowledgeable, and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their beer and their space! Paolo brought us out back and set us up at high top tables. Once we were seated, he immediately came back with four tastings for everyone - there was a ginger IPA, lychee red, jack o-langka (kolsch), and coconut potion (porter). Each one was so delicious and unique! I don't usually like porters, but even this one won me over. I ended up choosing the lychee red and then the jack o-langka but would highly recommend all. We ordered a bunch of food - popcorn chicken, seasoned fries, plain fries, fried pickles, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, plain biscuits, and powdered sugar biscuits. The popcorn chicken was a great portion and so yummy. Both fries were also great portions and perfectly crispy! Fried pickles were also good, and I really liked the dipping sauce. Both dumplings were insanely tasty and were probably the group favorite. Last but certainly not least... the fried biscuits. WOW. These things were unreal - imagine little bits of flaky dough deep fried either served plain and buttery or tossed with powdered sugar! It was almost like a leveled-up, easily shareable funnel cake. Would recommend everything we got, but would definitely insist that you try the dumplings and biscuits if you don't want to order almost the whole menu like we did! I would be remised if I didn't also tell you about the really incredible space here. Even from the street, you can see the brewery equipment, open brick, hanging lights, and overall cool atmosphere. The bar is awesome, and the outdoor space in the back is amazing. They have tons of games you can play from board games to cornhole, and there's a projector setup for movies, sports games, you name it. If you have kids (or if you're an adult that just likes a good time), they even have a sandpit play area! There are also hanging hammocks where you can lay back and enjoy a cold, freshly brewed beer! The space itself felt really safe. While the top was covered, there was still open air flowing throughout. There were other groups there and they were far away enough that we felt totally comfortable. They also had little heaters that were easily moveable and could help keep you warm if needed. The chill and fun vibe, great food, and even better beer make this a perfect date spot, group hangout, or even solo outing. I look forward to coming back soon and would highly recommend checking it out ASAP!

Cute place. They have been around for about a year. Inside is small. They have an outdoor area in back but it was reserved for a party so we couldn't go back there. They have 4 beers that they make themselves. All unique and tasty. I had the porter. Boyfriend has the ginger IPA. They give you a free tasting of each beer before you buy. The staff is super friendly!

This brewery seems like a hidden gem of Manhattan. Only a few actual breweries on Manhattan this is the most unique. All the beers feature a specific flavor flavor that shines through from ginger, pumpkin, grass, coconut. The space seems small but has an amazing backyard space that opens up. Excited to keep returning.

This place is a hidden gem. A mini brewery in the heart of the Lower East side of Manhattan. Unfortunately I didn't eat any food this trip but best be sure I will next time around. Had a decent selection of unique beer. My personal favorites are the "Coconut Potion" & Ginger IPA. Jan the Bartender was cool, helpful and polite. The lounge area in the backyard was awesome! A few hammocks, makeshift tables and chairs, corn hole game and a smart tv for some weekend sports. I will definitely go again and bring a few more friends.

Great little spot with a ton of character, friendly staff and very unique beers. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the individual working was friendly, talked us through the full menu and was able to confidently give us both food and drink recommendations. They have a fantastic patio out back - with half of the space with a covering and some open tables as well. Upon sitting down they quickly checked in with us to see if we wanted a heater and regularly checked back with us throughout our visit. We tried a flight while we were there + had a few of the snackable items as well. All of the beer was delicious and had unique ingredients and flavors. We also LOVED their fried pickles, dumplings and biscuit bites. The food all came out quickly, was sizable for the price and came out piping hot. Upon arrival around 1pm we were the only ones in the space, but was thrilled to see that the spaced had filled up by the time we left a bit later. The only thing I would be aware of here is that there is limited space, especially if its not ideal weather outside, so likely better for a smaller group and/or check in on how busy they are before arriving!

We came here after dim sum on a Sunday and it was exactly the type of place we were looking for: a relaxing outdoor area to enjoy a couple of drinks with a friend. As my friend commented, it felt more like Brooklyn because chill spots like this are hard to come by in Manhattan. Paolo the owner was super nice and he and his wife make all of the beers. We did the tasting and you really can't go wrong with any of them - they're all delicious! I even got a pint of the IPA and I don't usually like IPAs.

Fantastic new bar that's super accessible from my home. They have four beers that all taste fantastic. We were able to get a tasting before committing to the Jack-O-Langka and Coconut Potion. The beers were delicious even if the fruitiness isn't as strong as I expected it to be. The fried pickles were delicious, great recommendation from the owner/staff! As someone who's super concerned about COVID-19, the tables were socially distanced in their cute outdoor space. Would love to come back again!

Hours incorrect. Closed at 1:30 on Saturday. Disappointing, since I walked 45 minutes to get here.

One of the few Manhattan breweries and likely the least known. Very good. Their Ginger ipa is particularly good.

Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by the manager and other staff to make sure I was all settled for my party, which I really appreciated. This space has a partnership with a pizza place up the street to order food but also provides flexibility to bring in your own food which a lot of places do not allow. They also allowed me to bring balloons and cake which many places also don't allow. I had around 40 people and there was plenty of space to sit down or stand. It wasn't too loud so I was able to have a conversation with friends while also enjoying the music. The music was great and we even stayed afterwards to enjoy the DJ and the vibes were still strong. If you're looking for a private space, this is the perfect spot for your party! My friends are still talking about how cool this space was and were very impressed!
