I have ordered here off doordash a lot and was surprised how much i liked it because I assumed it would be fast food ish. it really is more like home cooked and the unique menus items are really dope and the sweet potato fries with the maple aoili are to die for. the fried green tomato chicken sandwich is my go to and i love it i dined in on a random day where i had some free time and the girl at the counter was so unbelievably rude i couldn't believe it. she honestly seemed perturbed that i was there. i wont go into the boring details but thats how you know the food is good because the service was honestly some of the worst i've experienced but still gave it 4 stars i dont think people need to be jumping off the walls at work excited to see people but neutrality or non-hostility seems like a minimum requirement. read more

I ordered the yam fries and a lettuce-wrapped burger based on the cashier's suggestion, and he was genuinely great. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. He deserves a raise or a promotion, honestly. The food itself was fine. I finished the sauce that came with the yam fries and asked for more to finish the rest of my fries. I was told only one sauce comes per order. No problem. I said I would pay for extra. The cashier said he would check with his manager. Manager said no. So let me get this straight. A customer is literally asking to give you more money and the answer is no? I went up to speak with the manager directly. He was on his phone, ignoring me. I had to ask the cashier to get his attention. When he finally acknowledged me, he repeated that it is one sauce per order and there is nothing he can do. I explained, from a business perspective, that it makes zero sense to refuse to sell a customer something they are willing to pay for. His response? He would "talk to upper management about it." Sure. Then I asked for a refund on the fries. He told me to bring them back. I did. Then he said, "Well, you ate most of it, so..." and tried to flip the whole situation. I never complained about the fries. I wanted more sauce. That is it. Do not twist the conversation. The cashier was the only person who handled this with any professionalism. He acknowledged the issue, apologized, and actually tried to help. That man should be running the store. Burgers are delicious with bold flavors great house sauce fresh crispy lettuce/tomato. I tried Harlem Shake and I must say it's a great late night delivery option and they also have a few different drink choices. The burgers were definitely tasty and the Frozé was refreshing. Recently visited here before a Nets Game. I do try to switch up my order but I know what I love here. The Hot Mess is so good. It's a classic burger topped with pickled cherry pepper & bacon relish. I'm obsessed with the bacon relish. I wish they sold it separately too. I also ordered the Jerk fries and added the jerk aioli which I'm also obsessed with. I love a burger joint that offers gluten-free buns. Their smash burgers are really well-made and don't feel too heavy. I only wish their fries were also gluten-free, but unfortunately it's in a shared fryer. The milkshakes are also very tasty. Given the portion sizes and the freshness of the food, it is reasonably priced. The customer service is also really great. They are always ready to tell you about the specials, allow you to use the bathroom, deliver you the food quickly. I ordered this place for takeout because I heard they had good burgers and I'm glad I did. I had the Harlem Classic with beef burger and it was delicious and tasted homemade. Those beef patties were made with love and well seasoned. The bun was nice, soft, and buttery. I added onions and that was a nice touch. The curly fries were fresh and crunchy but the chipotle mayo was a little too spicy for me. Nonetheless, this still was a good side item. Lastly I had the salted caramel shake and added Oreos. I was all set to do the Hippy Harlem Shake and as u I started my rotation, the order arrived. Boy, my hips did an about face. Let's start at the top ( see my pics of what's delivered vs. what was shown on restaurant's website). I ordered the Harlem Impossible Burger, the website shows 2 patties and charges $13 ( huge appetite today, skipped lunch). What I got was what I expect from 7th Street Burger, a flat smashed burger. The cheese wasn't melted, a few onions and pickles in a soggy "brioche" bun. Sorry but a complete rip off. The only plus was the burger taste was good. My friend ordered the Classic Harlem Burger, another listless flat burger with same condiments as Impossible. The curly fries were stuck together and the "spicy " chipotle mayo was bland. Here's the worst part, we both paid extra for BBQ sauce and what was served was I have no idea what taste it was but not BBQ. I also ordered the 12 oz Black and White shake.. that tasted like pure chocolate. Please take lessons from Shake Shack on how to make a proper Black and White.. I'll leave it there. The man working there did not seem to want to own up to the mistake and did not suggest any resolution. He just told me I was out of luck. The burger came out looking very nice especially the bun is not wrinkly or messy. The beef is a thick cut and very juicy. Jerk fries on the other hand were kind of plain or bland. Harlem Shake is #1. Great balance of toppings, sauce, the patty is so solid, the buns solid too and I freaking love their shaved onions. Everything else is completely unremarkable. Fries, super mid. Shakes, like not sweet? Normally Id say thats a good thing cause most fast food spots are the opposite, but theyre not sweet ENOUGH... which is unusual. What else.... Hot dogs, like fine but nothing to write home about. Oh and the non burger sandwiches are solid. Their turkey burkers are good. To sum it up, their main character energy is strong. I ordered the Hot mess but fearing it'll be too hot I opted out of the relish because I'm such a weak girl with heat but after trying those delicious smash burgers I really wish I would've gotten it just to try it. Okay, we were looking for a CONSISTENT and affordable smash burger spot. This is it. They serve up the best cheeseburger and surprisingly it's not too greasy!!! My main issue with 7th street burger is that it is so greasy it soaks through the bun. Never had that problem here. We order takeout from here once a week or so and it's never let us down.
