Pretty fun place, you can sit on some motorcycles, thy have an area for kids to read, dress up, and ride a fake hog. They have a guess-who game too. There is also a lot of interesting history you learn about, obviously how HD dealt with the ebbs and flows of manufacturing during wars, depressions, etc. Great museum for kids!

Made up of two floors, this museum showcases the history of Harley-Davidson. A self-guided audio tour is available for an additional $6. There were areas where talks were given when we visited. If you have no interest or know nothing about motorcycles, you can skip this one. We finished everything in 1 hour.

Look for the sticker on the mirror or you'll be struggling to get water from the bathroom faucet.

This is a great option, specially when having friends visiting from out of town; the restaurant has a lot of potential but it fell flat. The food was OK. A friend wished he had ordered what my husband had. On a Packer football night, there was a live singer and they didn't show the game at all; even though they had been showing the previous game. Pretty disappointing.

We had the guided tour, which included a visit to the motorcycle vault. The history of the bikes is fascinating, but the way that the tour is presented can get boring at times. It's a no-touch place, which I get, since some of these pieces are artifacts, but having a few more hands-on opportunities here and there would help. Some of my favorite pieces were the police motorcycles and Elvis Presley's bike, too. I had hoped that we would get more photo ops in the vault, which you could ask for, but they secure it so hard that you think you might get sniped if you come too close to anything. It'll get the job done if you're looking for something "interesting" in Milwaukee, but don't expect it to be what the site makes it out to be, unless you're really into Harleys like that.

I really love what they did with the Harley campus. There's plenty of room to park which is rare when you're downtown. The museum is one of many buildings and they have collected so much over the years including rare older bikes used for mail delivery and in the armed forces which was really cool to see. On Thursdays during the summer they also host bike nights with live music, food and drink outdoors and a chance to see some cool bikes. I've also been a few times for private events upstairs and the catering has been absolutely delicious, including charcuterie boards and the like. The staff have been warm and welcoming, too. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and even a little bit curious about the history of Harley.

I'm so glad we decided to stop by this museum! It was such a fun and engaging experience, with the perfect mix of history and interactive exhibits. I took way more photos than I can possibly share because everything was that fascinating--and I'm not even a Harley owner. I especially enjoyed learning about the connections to law enforcement and the role of women in the history, which made the visit even more meaningful. Afterward, we checked out the restaurant and bar across the way, and it was just as impressive. I don't drink, but their non-alcoholic beer was honestly the best I've ever had. This is a must-visit whether you're a Harley fan or just someone who appreciates history presented in a fun, memorable way.

I loved this museum! Every type of Harley Davidson is displayed and brought back many good memories. There are some motorcycles that you are allowed to sit on for picture taking. Don't pass this up. If you are visiting and riding a Harley, there is special front designated parking. That is also interesting to look at, meaning what bikes riders rode to the museum.

I came here on a very cold Sunday on a quick family trip. The customer service rep talked us into getting a yearly membership considering it was only 7$ more. The museum itself is very clean and they have a coat rack so we didn't have to lug our heavy winter coats around. I liked that they had a scavenger hunt, of things to find in the museum. It wasn't as easy as we thought and it kept my son engaged for the duration of our visit. I loved the entire museum but my favorite part was the motorcycle vault. It was cool to see all the archived bikes! This museum has something for all ages as there is so much history and information on the motorcycles throughout. We are planning on making a trip back during the summer. Even if you are not motorcycle fanatic; This is a well put together museum that is enjoyable for all.

There was a lot of free parking in front. Admission was $21 to view hundreds of motorcycle styles through the decades. Here we saw Elvis and Evel Knievels Harley's. The Experience Gallery on the bottom floor allowed us to take badass photos, and enjoy interactive exhibits. There was a huge gift shop & restaurant on the premises.

Whether you're a die hard Harley rider or a museum enthusiast, the HD museum has something for everyone. Stocked full of bikes, incredible displays, mind-blowing facts and full blown American ingenuity. There's something for everyone here. I'm a Harley owner and rose 610 miles to visit. Well worth the ride.

If I could give this museum experience more than 5 Stars, I would! This museum experience should not be missed if you are visiting Milwaukee, WI. The rich history of an American motorcycle/automotive juggernaut is on stunning display at this beautiful campus, which is COMPLETE with the museum, restaurant, concert area, TWO stores (they have their own Outlet; "come on, can you say 75% OFF on a leather Harley Davidson jacket?!"), original structure from when the Davidson brothers and Harley started making magic, and grassy areas for picnics or just hanging out. And of course, "special parking" for HOGS! I could have spent all day here. EVERYONE who works there is super pleasant, professional, and FUN. And if your hands are tired of carrying all your shopping items (or you didn't bring an extra suitcase), guess what, they SHIP! I will definitely be back and I am eyeing a Road Glide Trike!

I was a good time we're coming to the Harley Davidson Museum restaurant and bar. I love the atmosphere, all the servers are nice and friendly. This is the best salad there is at least I think so. The portion is a good size and the salad is always fresh which I appreciate that's my go to pretty much every single time. Simply delicious and refreshing

On a work trip in Chicago and drove to Milwaukee on my day off to visit the museum. A solo trip was well worth the drive! Beautiful museum you can get lost in for hours. Loved the visuals and history captured on all floors. I also loved the merch store on the corner where I purchased tons of goodies to bring home after an amazing meal and Bev at the restaurant!

She knows the ropes and is ready to chart the course to good times and a boatload of laughs on the streets of Milwaukee. This little bus is packed with so many joyful things to look at, I almost felt like I should have donned a Patrick Starfish costume. Next time! The boat theme was spot on, down to portholes and seasick bags! We were taking on the city Laverne and Shirley style plus 6 girls to get out of town and have some fun. I think I may have sprouted some abs, all be them well hidden from view, from the amount of laughter that ensued on our travels. We used our local beer pass as a starting point and we had Shelly's guidance to take us to the best destinations. She knew all the hidden treasure locations, pointed out so much about the city and made us feel like we were her new best friends. Logistically, the "boat" is set up with two bench seats facing each other, you can have great conversations with friends as well as face forward to see what is up and coming on your excursion. There is forward facing seating in the far back. The aisle was big enough to bring a cooler on board with plenty of room to get around. The windows were quite large to take in all the sights and of course to shout a hearty "Happy Saturday" to all we passed. If you are reading this and heard the shouts from a weekend in October 2021, yep, that was me! Really, who doesn't love compliments and 90's music floating on the wind on a sunny fall day?!? Really, the only thing I wish for would be that the S.S. MKE was in my town that I could book something with them more often. While this trip was my first adventure, it undoubtedly will not be my last! Shelly is absolutely worth her salt and then some! If nautical nonsense be something you wish...set sail with the S.S. The owner became argumentative with me when I expressed frustration, and she blamed me for it. It was extremely unprofessional and very childish the way she spoke down to me. So, it took me a while to get back to them with all the exact details. But when I did, she said we were still good; until about a week later when I got the email saying they had to cancel because they wanted to go to the concert instead of fulfilling their commitment to us. It's not too early to be thinking about what places you'd like to visit next year. In case this is all new to you, Doors Open Milwaukee is just exactly what the name implies. Many buildings, structures and businesses that aren't usually open to the public throw their "doors open" on the third weekend of September every year. Places might be theaters (Riverside, Modjeska) government buildings (city hall, courthouses, wastewater treatment plant) structures (bascule bridge, lift bridge) cemeteries (Forest Home, Bluemound) Hotels (Pfister, Ambassador) museums (Wadham's gas station, fire museum, Chudnow, MSOE Grohmann) fire houses (Milwaukee, West Allis) and churches of many kinds including the stunning Basilica of St. Josaphat. New on the tour this year was Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, the last commission of Frank Lloyd Wright. Folks in southeastern Wisconsin have been curious about the church since it was built in 1959 and hundreds of people took advantage of the opportunity to see the inside of this magnificent structure. There is a great deal of "right" with DOMKE, although there are a few issues with it, too. One of the more pleasant issues is that there were over 150 places open this year. Too much to see in a weekend, so one much choose carefully. Parking can be an issue around popular venues, as can long lines. It was even tougher this year with on-street parking restricted in many places due to construction. Remember DOMKE for next year, and remember that next spring, Historic Milwaukee will sponsor Spaces & Traces. See you there!
