    Breakfas special

This is one of those oldies but goodies cafe's that have endured the test of time. Not sure how long it's been in business but from the cliente it looks like a cult following. There are some long standing return customers. Everyone seems to agree the chorizo and eggs is the go to for breakfast. The eggs Benedict were pretty good. I can understand why customers become loyal. It's nice to see servers being friendly, attentive and performing as they should. The decor screams old Hollywood. Gene Harlow cafe. Makes sense. Thank you

Haven't been here in a long long time.. and this place hasn't changed at all.. Defin a local hole in the wall spot in Tempe. The food was good and the service was good could have been better but can't complain.

"Harlows".... Yes it's centered around classic cinema, with wood paneling, classic movie posters & celebrity pictures as decor. Parking can be tough but don't give up. The food is delicious, service is awesome & coffee is hot n . Plenty of seating, booths, tables ,bar , you choose. The "early bird special" 8-11am was the best deal, as the menu is a tad expensive but I've heard the portions are large. I ordered the really bird egg muffin sandwich with hash browns it's very good, more homemade style. Hash browns are more like home potatoes (cubes with seasoning). I like it & you should too. Great job Eva; your service is exceptional, the smile is beautiful & your attention is spot on!

This place is located on SW corner of University and Hardy, West of ASU. We stopped in to pickup food for brunch. The Reuben (see photo) was a great size for the price. And the meat was very well prepared. Potato salad was a healthy serving and very good as well.

I love Harlow's afraid to review because it will get even busier than it is . It's a great old school cafe without the greasy spoon food. The French toast is thick and soft the green pork chili is out of this world , the home fries are crispy and the coffee is simple . Reminds me of the diners growing up back east . I often will sit up at the counter if on my own and have met both the owners and the staff . Always so friendly and proud of what they do . But make sure you order a drink . They have a table of unique napkins and the server will choose one based on your personality or occasion. Love supporting small business

Love it here I love that it's hasn't changed in years, you know that saying if it's not broken don't fix it well this place is the definition of that food was amazing like if my mom made it bacon was crispy just they way I like it eggs scrambled not over cook like some places I have been too and the pancakes yum!!! Our server was good come every so often to check on us, my husband has been there before and he had her last time too and she recognized him quickly that a plus for us to be honest with you... I love the feel wood panels and autographs photos of different celebrities that have been there I loved it here we will definitely be back but in my car and not his bike lol

Long time been on my list for breakfast spots to try. But I don't go out for breakfast often so this was a treat! Harlow's was delicious. Everything we ordered was yummy and quickly prepared. Service was great! It was busy on the weekend but our wait for a party of 3 wasn't very long. Maybe 10-15 mins at 10am. I'm sure if going earlier it would have been no wait. I called to see if they take a name on the list or rez, nope just waiting upon arrival. That wasn't surprising. It's a small breakfast restaurant with fun decor and still very mom and pop vibe. I'd definitely go back and try the creamed chipped beef on toast, as it's a speciality but they were sold out by 10am.

Harlow's is a Tempe gem! Very good food served in generous portions. Fresh baked muffins are always a must! Great diner vibe with great service. Always busy, so plan for a short wait, but It'll be worth it! Bring cash and save a couple bucks on your bill.

You know, my Uber driver told me I'd love this place and he was right. I was sitting at the counter and every single plate that came up looked PHENOMENAL. I got the chicken fried steak and it absolutely melted in my mouth. The biscuits were super light and fluffy. Tons of food for the price, I definitely ended up with two meals. It was packed when I got here and the servers were running and I didn't see anyone who wasn't still getting great service. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

The food portions were huge. I ordered a chorizo burrito. I also ordered a side of cottage cheese. Both were generous portions which makes up for the somewhat pricey menu. My husband ordered a two egg breakfast named after someone but I couldn't find it on the online menu. He said the bacon was really good. The potatoes were just potatoes. Eggs were cooked to his liking. I would definitely go again. Service was good and food was fast despite them being busy. It's an old school kind of place with old signs, photos and knickknacks. If that's your cup of tea, give them a try!

Cute small cafe, nice and fast service with cafe style breakfast. The Breakfast burritos are a pretty good size that will leave you full. Coffee is good and their Ice Tea is delicious as well. Bisques and gravy were a bit disappointing. Bisques were a bit dry and hard around the edges and the gravy lacked flavor, it was pretty plain. But everything else was delicious and would definitely come back!

This place is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Tempe. I had the burrito special of the day. The chorizo burrito here is excellent! The prices are reasonable with generous portions. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Nothing like a good cup of dinner coffee, they will keep your coffee cup full. The vibe is casual and no frills. Definitely worth the wait to get a table. They have plenty of parking as well. Looking forward to going again.

I got the bang bang shrimp and it was good (6/10). The problem that I have is the pistachio gin fizz was an absolute no! I am a HUGE fan of pistachio and gin so immediately I had to get his drink but it was beyond mediocre. Are we drinking only syrup??? My last complaint is the coconut tres leches dessert.... Do we actually know how to make tres leches or we just naming desserts however we want? Just curious. It came out super hot, steaming more like a molten cake. As a Hispanic woman, I was expecting a creamy moist cake to celebrate my graduation but this was not it as well. Last but not least if the bald manager with the orange shirt wants to eat in the back of the kitchen, not the problem I get it (I work at restaurants) HOWEVER shoving your two index fingers into your mouth to get your debris out was my last straw. While the ambience is fairly simple, the overall experience is a positive one, especially once the food arrives. I ordered the lox and bagel and was impressed by how substantial the portion was. The lox was generously layered, with a large amount of arugula on top. The arugula appeared to be lightly dressed with olive oil, which added great flavor. While it did not fully align with my personal dietary preferences, it was well executed, and I would be happy to return to see if it can be adjusted. The dirty chai was another highlight in terms of flavor. It was well spiced and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Although it was described as very hot when delivered, it arrived closer to lukewarm, but the taste itself was enjoyable. Service was efficient and attentive. The check was dropped off relatively early, which initially felt a bit quick, but our server continued to check in on us throughout the meal, creating a balanced and courteous experience. The fresh squeezed orange juice was excellent, and everything we ordered was well prepared. Parking in the area can be challenging, though the nearby parking structure behind Pedalhaus makes it more manageable. Overall, this is a reliable brunch option with strong portions, thoughtful flavors, and enough positives to make it a place I would gladly return to.

It was absolutely delicious and the best part of the dining experience. The BLTA (Bacon Lettuce Tomato Avacado) sandwich was way too heavy on the lettuce and the bread was quite hard, making it difficult to eat. It was moreso a handheld salad. Service was okay, though not especially attentive, as our water wasn't refilled. At the host stand there was some confusion when we arrived. She didnt realize we were standing there and then when my boyfriend asked a question about a menu item she didnt respond. Not sure if she was just not paying attention, the music was too loud, or didnt want to converse with us. Sort of awkward. Overall, the experience was mixed, but the butter cake French toast was delicious.

A lot of places start making you feel awkward if you stay too long, but the service here stayed friendly and attentive the entire time we were there. The mimosas were honestly one of my favorite parts because they had so many different fresh juice flavors to choose from instead of just the typical orange juice. It made the experience feel way more fun and customizable, and you could actually taste how fresh the juices were. Every mimosa we tried was refreshing and super easy to drink. The food was also really good and paired perfectly with the drinks. Everything tasted fresh and well-made, and it all came out quickly even though the place was busy. My husband and I found this place online, and it looked like a great spot for brunch. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand, and it took quite a while for anyone to acknowledge us. When the hostess finally came over, we asked for a table for two. She immediately told us there was only outdoor seating available and didn't even mention that waiting for an indoor table was an option. Keep in mind, it was 110°F on a Sunday in Arizona. My husband had really been looking forward to trying this place, so we asked what was available and decided to stay. We were seated outside near the entrance. Shortly afterward, we watched the hostess tell other guests who arrived after us that indoor seating was available with only a 5-minute wait. Why wasn't that option offered to us? We absolutely would have waited. Unfortunately, the hostess's attitude and the way the situation was handled completely changed the experience for us. It left us feeling unwelcome, and we weren't able to enjoy our meal the way we had hoped. The food may have been fine, but customer service is a huge part of dining out, and this experience overshadowed everything else. Safe to say, we won't be returning. An unfriendly and dismissive environment is not something I'm interested in supporting.

Now listen... the spot itself is cute. Once we actually got service, our waiter was cool. It just took forevvverrrrr & I ended up having to request cutlery after food was served. To be fair, it was busy, but there also seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so I'm not exactly sure where the disconnect was. Food-wise: the spinach artichoke dip was definitely the table favorite. My caprese panini was ok, it was sadly lacking pesto which feels a little criminal for a caprese situation. Our friends loved the fancy French toast & I was absolutely there for the prickly pear mimosas The entire brunch honestly felt like it was one dropped plate away from becoming a sitcom episode. One poor new waiter dropped a plate on the floor, then later knocked glasses off the rack above the bar & shattered a couple right next to guests sitting there. I genuinely felt bad for him because you could tell he was having a rough shift. That said, I really appreciated that they acknowledged the long wait & gave us a discount without us having to ask.
