I loved this store. Having a vacation home in that area this is definitely going to be a frequent stop as we pad right by. Parking is located in the back or you can park right out front on the street. They have free samples and sell some awesome stuff. I bought a bunch of different kind of cheeses, a marinade, coffee grinds and some shirts. The cheeses were dip type, the cheddar and horseradish was my favorite as opposed to the cheeses and blue cheese mix that I wouldn't by again. They had a sample of the eggnog coffee which had a good hint so we bought a bag. I bought 3 infant shirts all moose Patriots shirts. They sell Hatchland Farms products there and you can return your glass bottles for a refund. Everyone that was working was very nice and helpful.

While wandering through town, we came across Cabot Creamery at the Yellow Barn and what an absolute gem of a discovery! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the warm. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, with a small-town charm that immediately made us feel at home. You can tell the team here puts a lot of care into creating a memorable experience for visitors. We sampled several of their incredible cheeses, including their current oldest an astonishing 10-year-aged cheddar that was rich, sharp, and full of complex flavor. The staff were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely enthusiastic about helping us navigate the variety of offerings. We ended up purchasing the White Oak Cheddar Cheese, the unforgettable 10-Year Cheddar, Wozz Green Tom Jalap Spread (a perfect savory kick!), and the BHP CP Raspberry Mostarda, which added a beautifully sweet and tangy touch to our cheese pairings. If you're ever in the Hardwick area or even remotely nearby do yourself a favor and make a stop at this delightful cheese shop. It's well worth the detour!

Weather got a little hariy getting there with the slushy roads, but we made it! It's pretty remote location with no street lights, so if driving in the dark look for the signs to get there and trust your GPS. There's a large parking lot across from the entrance to the little store/shop. The shop is actually the owners old family home I belive. We arrived pretty much at closing time, but we were still welcomed warmly. We got a cheese & maple syrup tasting which was yum and informative, and the staff member that did it was really nice, I forgot her name, but see photo below. One of the cheeses has won a cheese competition, very cool. We also got to meet the owner, but she was busy getting Christmas orders together. I perused all of the cheeses I wanted and settled on 4. We got to try 2 out of the 4 from the cheese sampling. The nice lady that checked me out even gave me some nice to-go samples as well. The smoked cheese was my fav, and the sage. But I enjoyed them all. I was able to easily fly home to TX with them due to the cold weather of the season. After the tasting, we got to peruse the store. They have so much other stuff to buy in additon to cheese and maple, tons of knick-knacks and gifts and merch. We didn't get to explore the farm after since it was pitch black when we left, too bad. Enjoy!

Sadly this year I didn't get to visit New England - but lucky for me Sugarbush ships nationwide!! So I tried it out and ordered some of their syrup and my fave cheeses. Ordering online via their website was super easy. I ordered my fave dark variety of their maple syrup and 4 cheeses: horseradish cheddar, jalapeño cheddar, sharp cheddar, and Monterey Jack. Their horseradish cheddar is my absolute fave - a wonderful kick of the spicy horseradish blends so well with their rich cheddar. I really love the jalapeño cheddar too - packed full of flavor with just the right amount of kick - not overwhelming but enough to taste it. The other two were great as well - you can definitely tell their cheeses are made fresh on site - flavors are just next level compared to industrial-manufactured cheeses from the grocery store chains. And the maple syrup is also in a league of its own - nothing mass-manufactured from any grocery chain holds a candle to the rich, complex flavors and velvety texture. The syrups also last quite a long time so I'm able to keep my stocks full yearly! Since I was ordering cheese with a long way to travel, and it was still quite warm in parts of the US, their website suggested adding one of their insulated shipping boxes for an extra fee of $8. I didn't want to risk ruining my cheese so I did and all arrived in excellent condition! They pack it in extra insulated styrofoam with ice packs. So it's definitely worth it imo. Next year I'll be in Maine in October so I'll definitely be planning an extra day or two to pop over to Sugarbush on my way back out haha!! See yall next fall!

Very good cheese all around! There is no doubt that this creamery makes some fantastic goat cheese…read more This is especially true due to there being very few goat cheese options in my city of Pittsburgh beyond the standard supermarket brand. This cheese doesn't taste like foodservice. It takes like genuinely delicious artisan cheese. As far as I know, this particular location on Yelp is not open to the public. Maybe it was at one point, but newer reviews point to it being closed now. So I probably wouldn't recommend making the drive here just for some free samples, especially considering the cheese isn't expensive anyway. I was able to acquire some from a local Aldi for just a few dollars ($3-4, I believe). I was quite blown away. The cheese is so creamy and all around perfect. No grittiness, perfectly pure flavor that truly makes it feel like an upscale experience. This particular cheese is a dip, but I ate it straight from the container because that's how good it is. Plus, it's also quite light! 45 calories for 2 tablespoons, and around 250 for the entire container! I will say, though, it's tough to get your hands on this product sometimes. All in all, I highly recommend giving the Vermont Creamery's cheeses a try. The goat cheese dip is fantastic, and I enjoyed it straight out of the container. I'm sure their other products are just as delicious, and they make for a great gift, appetizer, or snack.

I have been enamored with Vermont creamery since I worked at Whole Foods in New England, so this was at the top of my list to visit. What you're actually visiting is their corporate offices. Inside they look a little like a fancy, corporate barn. The staff is SO welcoming. When you get there, although you can't do a tour, you can taste your way thru their award winning cheeses. I forget the front desk woman's name but she was THE NICEST. Upon walking in, she asks if we want to try some cheese. Well, of course we did! She walks on back to the kitchen and a few minutes later emerges with something magnificent. A wooden cheese board in the shape of the state of Vermont featuring: - 3 kinds of goat cheese: pepper jelly, honey, and regular - cultured butter: yes, we ate this by the spoonful alone and have zero regrets. - creme fraiche with vanilla - their award winning Bonn bouche- an ash ripened goat cheese that is stinky and delish! All of this was on the house! Then you can purchase anything you'd like but at cost which is AMAZING! We brought home a ton of goat cheese from here and our friends and family were extremely pleased. So, a half star off for mediocre value. Another half star off for business practices, based on Killdeer's sanctimonious statements trying to justify their policy of importing foreign workers from poor countries to do their farm labor, instead of hiring local workers. Come on guys, you import foreign laborers for one reason: to maximize corporate profit. There is no difference between what you do, and what mid-western meat-packing plants do. And that's okay -- I feel Killdeer is entitled to hire whoever they want, as long as it's legal. But I resent the Karl Rove-ian style "Clear Skies" doublespeak spin.
