I have the privilege of working at this beautiful community everyday, our residents are truly "…read moreliving " every minute of each and every day. To be a part of Paramount is to watch the residents admit and excel in their daily living. A non medical look and feel, it is te most affordable community in the area and beyond and our residents are able to age in place. So as their needs increase we move forward with them, skilled nursing care isn't a move that your loved one will have to make. I am thrilled to be a part of a great work family and enjoy watching our community grow every day! This is a must see community if you're searching for your loved one

But when we toured Paramount Senior Living and met with Starla Press, Director of Admissions and Marketing, we were immediately impressed. Starla spent an enormous amount of time patiently answering our questions and asked many, many questions about our sister and her specific needs. Then she went to the hospital the very next day to meet with our sister and talk with her directly. It was so very clear that Starla was interested in making this work for us and our sister - more than any other community that we met with!! So what makes Paramount Assisted Living so special and superior over other similar communities? It's the people. From Starla - to Olivia Perry, LPN, Resident Care Manager - to Shiryl Stanley in accounting... everyone who works there puts the patient and their family first. When I call to ask a question or discuss my sister's care, they go above and beyond to help. They also know who I am and more importantly, who my sister is and how she is doing. This is a beautiful community and my sister raves about the food!!! She looks forward to all of her meals in the dining room and rates then 5-star. My sister went from a picky, non-eater to actually starting to gain a pound! Thank you, Paramount Senior Living, for taking such good care of my sister and caring about your patients and lovely community.

Judy Fogleman has been my property manager for the past year and it has been a horrible experience…read morefrom start to finish. She is disorganized, untimely, neglectful and ignorant to her client's needs. She lied repeatedly regarding the time frame to move into my home. And when I say lie, she just put no effort into establishing a timeframe for anything. Inconsiderate. I was extremely patient with the previous tenants situation, but when it was finally "ready" and I went to get the keys it was clear Judy did absolutely zero upkeep of the home. Black mold, thick sticky stained carpets, cabinets, drawers and appliances were absolutely filthy. The HVAC was full of dirt and dust, mold and needed cleaned out before breathing in there. I have a young son, I don't want him getting sick from mold. I signed the lease in March for April, and did not move in until July. Again, inconsiderate of my time. We lived with half of the living room under plastic (still fixing a molded out floor and patio door) until early September and 2 weeks later the basement flooded, after WEEKS of telling Judy that the floor down there was bubbling up. She still failed to recognize it as an emergency, trying to put it off until the following week. I tore the carpet up myself as the room was literally UNDER WATER. That damage in the basement was not fixed until April of this past year. Over 7 months of her again lying about time frames, work being done... etc. Very inconsiderate of my time and money. I paid rent and signed a lease for an entire townhouse, and I never had full use of the home. When the basement damage was finally fixed, about 2 weeks later, I was told the landlord was selling the home. After being told when I signed the lease that they were looking for long term renters, 3-5 years. At this point my lease is up in less than a month, I have lived here for less than a year. Now as a single mom with 2 jobs, this summer I have to find a new home last minute and unexpectedly. This review does not even explain half of how I was treated and neglected by Judy and the property owner/seller himself. I have pictures, texts, receipts... etc. Anyone may feel free to contact me for additional information.

Please bear with me. I'm not a holy roller in your face religious zealot. But what I witnessed this…read moreweekend happened by the grace of God. The staff at Hershey medical system were blessed with the skills to save my mom. My mother had a major stroke on Saturday. She had a complete blockage in the area controlling speech and movement on her right side. She arrived at Hershey able to understand but unable to communicate. She couldn't lift her arms. She literally was scared to death. Likewise, my dad, who witnessed everything, was panicking. When we got the call, we threw some stuff in a suitcase and drove all night covering over 800 miles to get there as soon as we could. When we arrived, we went directly to the hospital. Of course I had updates from my family, but I still wasn't sure what I would see when I walked into her room in the NICU. The moment I stepped over that threshold, I knew I still had my mom. Not mom with a new normal, but MY mom. How did I know? She was complaining about something. Yep, that's my mom, bless her heart. (And I mean that in a true southern way!) I've already established my belief in divine intervention, but it was the excellent staff at Hershey that actually performed the miracle. The moment mom crossed the ER threshold, she was hit by a whirlwind of activity. Time is critical for a stroke patient. Within the first 1/2 hour, they confirmed the stroke and had a specialist paged. Less than two hours from getting wheeled in into the ER by the EMTs, she was in recovery from surgery. The surgery was delicate (as are all brain surgeries, of course). This particular surgery takes advanced skills - her neurologist said that even they revere these surgeons. The doctor said that they got the entire clot but didn't know her prognosis. He did say that recovery was going to be slow. The wonderful care didn't stop in the ER and OR. The nurses and support staff were second to none. Not only was mom well cared for, we were also recipients of the helpfulness and kindness of the staff. We were kept abreast of every test and procedure. They made sure that the doctor came by while we were there - keeping us tightly in the loop. We had pertinent phone numbers so we could always speak with her nurse. They helped us set up her portal (clear cookies before enrolling). Mom was a nurse so she has exceptionally high standards for nursing care. Even she was impressed. There were a couple of hiccups. The food was awful. I wouldn't have eaten it either. They did not do a very good job at helping her with hygiene. She said she had a bed bath but whatever they did, sure didn't do what was intended. In 5 days, she had only received 1 bath. Please be aware that the medical center is HUGE and you will most likely have quite a trek to the room. Seriously, after the first day, I traded my cute sandals for my tennis shoes. There are a couple of places inside to eat but we didn't try them. A very busy Starbucks is in the lobby. Us fellow Penn Staters feel especially at home with the replica of our beloved Nittany Lion sculpture in the rotunda. A life size replica of our mascot sits on an outside bench just begging for a photo shoot. If I ever need urgent medical care while in town visiting, there will be absolutely no question on where I'll go. Hershey Medical Center. It's undoubtedly one of the best. And, to the staff - thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my mom. Bless you all.

It is well maintained, cleaned, and up kept. The ER is a little slow if you come in on a Saturday, but the staff (on all aspects/positions) are outgoing, knowledgeable, and wanting to educate you on what they are doing/have done and the options that you have. With that said, the care is exceptional. The nurse staff is beyond amazing! The care was contributions, present, and working to provided the best care available!! Going to the hospital is NEVER easy and not something anyone looks forward to, but I assure you that you are in good hands here!!
