I first hired them to renovate two bathrooms last year and was so pleased with the results that I brought them back for a full kitchen remodel--which just wrapped up successfully. Even though I had a designer, Keith and his team offered thoughtful suggestions that made the final result even more aligned with my vision. A couple things to keep in mind: as with any contractor, make sure to read your quotes carefully--I missed that trim work wasn't included in the original painting estimate. The first was to rescue us from a half-finished bathroom remodel where the original contractor abandoned the project half way through. We could find no other contractor that would touch the project, because you never know the quality of the work already done, and you are kind of assuming responsibility for it. Joe stepped in, fixed some things the previous contractor had screwed up, and finished the bathroom just in time for us to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family visiting. The second time was similar. We had a water line break and it damaged the entire bathroom in the master bedroom. We were displaced from our bedroom and the house was hazardous. Joe was already booked with other projects, but was able to rearrange some of his staff and was able to start fixing the house that very day. Three weeks later, we had a beautiful bathroom. We hadn't anticipated doing another bathroom remodel, and certainly hadn't budgeted for it. Joe's price was very fair, considering the emergency nature of the project and the fact that he had to have people on overtime to help complete the job. I highly recommend JM Construction. We hired Willis Bailey on the recommendation of Guido roofing who was repairing our leaking garage…read moreroof/deck. Since our 28 year old redwood deck was on its last leg and had to be torn off for the roof repair, we decided to choose Apex PVC decking to match the PVC railing we already had. Two major problems came up before the job ever started and Willis solved them both. He is very good at picturing every detail of the job before he starts and we found our that PVC deck is not recommended for flat roof deck which usually require floating deck sleepers (unattached supports). It is further complicated by the roof under the deck being sloped 2 ways to a gutter, when the deck itself needs to be level and the water has to have a way to flow underneath. Willis came up with a block system that was glued to the roof instead of free floating and it solved the requirements of the new decking, the drainage etc. Every block had to be a different height and angle. It was far more time consuming than was planned in his contract, but he didn't add on for it. The other problem that arose was a leak in the garage from below our fireplace surround. We have known for years that it was leaking under our siding, but was now worse. This was the 3rd time the siding needed replacing, but the source had still not been found. It turned out that the metal chimney cover was too small and not covering the whole top. Until Willis was on the job, noone had noticed. He did a change order, had a new one made and tore open the whole chimney surround to get rid of all the rotted wood. We would also like to give a shout out to Taylor Cole, (one of Willis' employees) for his conscientious care in treating our home as if it was is own. We highly recommend Bailey Construction.

As most projects there where unforseen extras that came up. Willis gave us very fair pricing for those extras. This is where some contractors will try to gouge you, but not Willis. His communication was good and worked to keep us satisfied. I will use him again on our next project.
