The masseuse hit all the normal spots. But things started to slide off the rails when I began to realize no knots were being lingered over, no tight areas explored. It was like I was being massaged by a mime who didn't actually know what they were doing, but were simply trying to convincingly put their hands in normal enough places. And if that's all the massage ended up being that would've been fine. But then things got really weird. For starters, she rested the cold plastic bottle of oil against my bare skin. Like, what the hell? Then, she grated her fingers against my scalp, rubbing my hair in a way that made me feel like I was being punished by a catholic school nun. Then! She stuck her fingers in my ears! In! It was here, during round two of scraping my scalp in funny patterns, that I finally had to tell her to stop. He has made an incredible difference in my life! He's incredibly skilled but also so intuitive, he somehow always knows exactly where the problem spots are and exactly how much pressure to use. You know how sometimes you can't truly relax because you are busy giving instructions or it just doesn't feel quite right? Armond is the complete opposite of that. I never have to explain anything, he just gets it. (My husband sees him too and feels the exact same way, even though we have different preferences!)
