I'm glad I discovered Naomi from Yelp. I always try to get massages (with preferences for strong, deep ones) on a regular basis. So, when I relocated to LA, it took me a while to find the specific place that I can see myself frequent. There are many things I like about Wellness from Within. First, I like that the communications/reservation process with Naomi had been prompt and very straightforward. Naomi always replied to my texts within 10-15 minutes. Second, you definitely get what you pay for. For the price that Naomi sets, you get the full time that she advertise, plus different options that other places usually charge extra for (cupping, lemongrass aroma, etc). No cheating on time or what you've been promise or anything. Third, her massage is strong and focused and customized to your body/need. Her massage therapy is strong and not for the faint of heart (as opposed to relaxing, spa ones where you can just drift off into lalaland while in a massage session). Naomi is AMAZING. I went to Naomi because my body had been breaking down. I work two jobs and I'm in school full time so my body was in so much pain, way more pain than I had realized. Not gonna lie, this massage was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced, but I feel so much better and mobile the day after that it was totally worth it! I get frequent headaches due to neck and shoulder stiffness as the result of a surgery I had a few years back. I have gotten countless deep tissue massages. They were nothing compared to this. She found knots I didn't even know existed, but could immediately tell after she worked on them that they were the culprit of my headaches and also pain in my knee that has be there for as long as I can remember. She has a unique personality that might not work with everyone, but I happened to find her quite funny. Naomi is great at what she does, She can feel through the tightness of your muscles to break apart and unlock parts of the muscles to increase blood circulation. She really gets to the deep muscles like under the shoulder blade or the joints like your knees and elbows. I had a minor elbow injury and she was apart to help relax many of the muscles that were connected to the joint. Which ease my pain that i was experiencing around the should blade and wrist. I have been pain free along my arm for several months now. Our muscles are all interconnected and she is able to find these tensions that relieve pain in another part of the body. Once she understood, she assessed my body and identified pressure points that ended up getting my blood flow in spots that seemed blocked previously. I love that Naomi has her own private room, this lady is professional and listens to your concerns. Her room is clean and smells good, I felt comfortable. Naomi welcomed me and had me fill out her medical questionnaire, we went over my pains and how I suffer from migraines. She asked if I was interested in cupping which I honestly wasn't since it looks painful. She left the room so that I can undress, then I laid face down with a sheet covering me. Naomi came in and asked me to take a deep breath and from there she touched the one place on my lower back that has been stiff and tender she confirmed my pain she then kept evaluating my breathing and said my engery was low because I was unable to take long deep breaths. Naomi worked her magic and throughout the massage she would check in with me to make sure I wasn't feeling sick or pain. As she continued to loosen up my muscles I did notice that I was able to take deep and longer breaths. She focused on pressure points for migraines and when she was done I felt so much lighter.
