I was trying to make a last minute appointment for my mother's birthday and was put on hold for around 5 minutes. My mom decided to call using her phone, and an employee named Vanessa answered the call. I'd like to mention my mother was on hold for half the amount of time I was. When she answered my mother's call I asked why it was that this call was being answered first and all Vanessa said was "I am the only one here", which does not explain why calls are being answered out of order. I was on hold for 8 minutes. I understand high demand times result in employees having to multitask and I do believe this location should have been staffed enough to answer calls in a timely manner. However, Vanessa should have been trained well enough to offer some sort of apology rather than an excuse. As someone who has worked in customer service for many years, I would have been decent enough to acknowledge that it was my fault and take some kind of accountability. I had an account with Massage Envy that held over $1,500 in unused credits. Without any notice, the account was canceled. When I called to ask about reactivating it, I was told that reactivation was possible--but I would lose all of my credits in the process. That's hard to interpret as anything other than predatory. Credits were paid for, not complimentary, and erasing them as a condition to regain access feels deeply off-putting. After reading through recent reviews, this doesn't seem like an isolated issue, and the overall trajectory of the location doesn't inspire confidence. Preparing for my facial with Valentine she asked if I had any requests. For my comfort level, I asked her to please not speak at all during my 90 minute facial. She absolutely did not respect this request at all and spoke nearly the entire time, adding everything she was doing and the ingredients of the treatment she was using. I thought that by my not responding when she asked questions that it would have been a reminder of my request to remain quiet. It didn't! This business model is a complete and utter SCAM that once you start a membership they make is very very difficult to cancel. My mom my two sisters and I all got a membership around the same time and ALL have the same problem. Multiple credits stacked up and we can't cancel or else you'll lose the money you already spent for the service you don't have. How this is legal is beyond me. I've been trying to cancel for over 2 years but they have $2000 worth of credits and I don't want to lose the money. Why do I have so many credits? Because the massage therapists are absolutely terrible. The last massage they almost seriously hurt my shoulder trying to get out a "knot" that was my bone.... Tried to cancel multiple times, manager is never available and they say she texted me, but no texts were on my phone. Said she left a message but there was no voicemail. Tried following up, she's out of town. This business should go bankrupt the way they are operating The customer service is completely horrendous and 5 years ago they actually had good massage therapists, now it's as if they hire people just out of school. I never leave bad reviews but people need be warned. I do not recommend becoming a member at this location. The staff consistently fails to confirm reservations correctly, making it nearly impossible to use credits on a monthly basis. I originally signed up a year ago because of Sandra, but ever since, the front desk has repeatedly mishandled my reservations. While one mistake is understandable, experiencing this issue more than four times shows a clear problem that needs to be addressed through better training and accountability. It has gotten to the point where I am willing to forfeit my $356 credit rather than continue dealing with the ongoing frustrations (this should really be a red Flag for massage envy to do better) Not fair at all to members who prioritize their wellness, and unfortunately, this location is not providing the level of service promised. read more

TL;DR: bad parking + good (not fantastic) massage + issues with ambience (noise and creaky floors) I scheduled a 90 minute full body massage here for my birthday. The parking situation is not ideal since it's downtown and near popular eateries. Thankfully, I lucked up and got a diagonal street spot about a block away. The front desk staff were very friendly and explained everything well. I appreciated that it was very clean, open, and brightly lit with natural light. Once I went to the back waiting area I noticed that there was no music playing and that it's very easy to hear what's going on in the front area of the establishment. Part of the reason for this is that the door takes a while to close. There's also a sign that says no phone use but someone's phone definitely rang and they took a call in that waiting area which was a bit of a nuisance. The massage itself was pretty good. The therapist (I think Alex) made sure to ask about desired pressure and focus areas. Despite not indicating any off limits areas on the intake form, the therapist avoided my scalp and gluteal regions. This didn't bother me that much, though. I enjoyed my massage and felt relaxed during the massage and afterwards. I think I was in room 2 and wanted to note that there was a squeaky area of the floor that was a little distracting for the time the therapist was working in that area. read more

This was my first massage and first facial ever so I was a bit unsure of what to expect. My masseur, Brian, was phenomenal. Before getting started, he asked what areas i wanted to focus on which was great considering I needed my back and legs worked on the most. He checked in throughout the massage to make sure the pressure was just right. I caught myself drooling as I nodded off a few times lol. Afterwards, I met with Valentina for a facial. She was very kind and informative on what I would expect through the facial. Each step was explained and why it was part of the process My only gripe is that you could SOMETIMES hear random sounds like doors or a creaky floorboard but it's not that serious. At the end, the front desk gentleman was also very attentive and explained their pricing options which seem very reasonable to me! I wasn't blown away by my experience here. I waited a noticeable amount of time past my scheduled appointment to be brought in from the waiting area for my massage. While there, I couldn't help but overhear that a woman's card was charged for someone else's appointment and, while I really was trying NOT to eavesdrop and thus didn't hear all of the details, the gist of what I picked up is that they were not really offering her much in the way of solutions and insisted they still had to charge her for her appointment as well. Needless to say, she left unhappy. The space felt like a glorified medical office with dim lighting and moodier tones, but still didn't have a very relaxing, warm or comfortable vibe. The massage therapist was ok...not amazing. I went in specifically for my back and shoulders because I'd been in a lot of pain as of late. I left feeling like not much impact on that was had and woke up the next day with no improvement. I'm not at all blaming the massage therapist...it could've just been a problem she couldn't fix. While I appreciate the discounted price on the first visit, overall, I think I'll look elsewhere for my next massage. read more

Cammie is absolutely incredible for deep tissue work and there are other good therapists as well, but this location isn't great. Parking can be a pain and the facility itself is getting pretty shabby. The door from the reception area has water damage and the paper towel dispensers in the restrooms are busted. When I went to dry my hands an empty kitchen paper towel roll was all that remained, which makes me think whoever's supposed to be monitoring the bathrooms isn't doing their job. What bothers me most about this location is the music. OMG. I'm not sure how to describe it, but during my last session it was all cheesy electronic sorta trance that, as it progressed, made me feel like I was listening to a 1980's cop show/crime drama, then a soundtrack to a movie with woodland creatures on a mystical quest, and then a Japanese rom-com. I scheduled a facial and had a gift card which I mentioned when I booked. I was really looking forward to getting a relaxing facial and if all went well, I even told my husband that I would consider signing up for a membership. The receptionist was great and I was greeted right away. She brought me to the waiting area and as I was answering questions I mentioned I was having acne problems. Shortly after, Melina came in to take me in. As soon as we entered the room, Melina asked me simple questions, have I been there before, when was my last facial, etc. She then began to talk about different types of facials, from chemical peels to microdermabrasion; some 30min later I'm still standing by the bed and I finally had to sit as she was still talking, when she looked at the clock and said "oh don't worry about be time I'll start the session when we begin and you'll get the hour." At this point I was feeling a bit frustrated because it was feeling more like a sales pitch rather than a relaxing experience. I finally had to tell her that I just wanted a relaxing facial, and she didn't seem pleased with that answer based on her reaction but finally said ok, asked me to get ready and left the room. When she came back in I thought I'd give her another chance and began to take deep breaths to get myself to relax. Melina began my facial and started talking about other treatments as she showed me pictures on her phone of dead skin from past clients! I don't know why she thought that was ok, or if she was just really trying to convince me to get the other treatments, but it was so unprofessional. I had mentioned to her that I haven't had a facial in about a year and would consider treatments another time. She continued with the facial, continued to talk, and then she asked if I've ever had some type of chemical on my face. I wasn't familiar with it and I said no. She said she was going to put that along with 2 other chemicals because she said she likes to "go strong". She started to massage my left arm, and again I tried to relax when she suddenly stopped massaging and said in a panic tone "oh my god your face is turning red." I freaked out and she said she was going to calm it down with water. My face was burning and she kept asking if the tingling was gone and I told her no at least 3 times. My face finally calmed down and she concluded with the facial. I was so upset by this because I mentioned that I have sensitive skin. She continued with the facial and I was waiting for her to massage my right arm which she never did! My husband's cousin gifted us with two gift cards and I just wasted mine. This review is centered mainly around the company's business practices and not the actual staff who perform massage therapy. The actual staff who administers the massages have all been great. The problem I have with this place is that I paid for a full year of massages and was being billed for them even partly through the pandemic but once they reopened after the pandemic they only gave me 3 months to use up a full year's worth of massages. I don't go to a masseuse that regularly. I go about once a month. I was consequently left with 5 un-redeemed massages that I couldn't use because they expired. Really disappointed with my massage here. I specifically requested a firm, therapeutic massage -- instead received the lightest massage of my life. I asked the masseuse twice to adjust, but she did not. Afterwards she claimed that light massages are more beneficial, so I tried to roll with that, but didn't experience any relief that evening or the following days. The only reason not leaving one star is because my last massage here was good. For massage one should have spiritual music, without a beat, an Indian flute (American or East Indian) , a harp, a cello sonata, sitar, meditation music, not elevator music (as I often experience).
