Every time I've been in, I've been treated with respect. Prices are fair, too. The only time I had a somewhat awkward experience was when I was 7 months pregnant and went in at Christmas time to purchase a bottle of Irish Cream as a gift. But in their defense, they were probably worried that I was preggy and boozing. That said, this store will be getting ALL of our business moving forward.

Macy's has been my go-to liquor…read morestore for more than a decade, as it's conveniently located for me, has decent prices, and most importantly to me, has the best customer service! All these reviewers complain about bad customer service, but I've literally never had that happen. And I'm in there quite a bit, for the white wine I sometimes enjoy with dinner, for wine to bring to dinners and parties, and for whiskey gifts for my husband and father. Without fail, I am always greeted at some point in my visit by a friendly, attentive Macy's employee, offering to help me out. I've on occasion asked for suggestions and had them gladly given to me (and they've been helpful and accurate!) Everybody in here has consistently been ridiculously friendly, and always have a pleasant smile. What more can you possibly want? I've been to other liquor stores in the area and had some really unfriendly cashiers, to the point where I often find myself sorry I didn't go to Macy's instead! That's how content I've been shopping here. As far as the ID issue goes. . . Folks, this is a liquor store. If you're going in here, bring an ID. I have many times been carded at a variety of liquor stores when I was not the one making the actual purchase. This is not an unusual practice. I also know of several shops where they ask for your ID regardless of how old you look. For instance, at another local store selling alcohol, the cashier can not force the register to total and ring you out until she has typed in your birth date, because the store management has decided the safest thing to do is to have every single person's ID checked, and that way, they don't run the risk of assuming someone is old enough when they are not. I suspect the reason Macy's is so vigilant with their carding practices is something similar; it's easier to just have all your employees card everyone than to try to set up some sort of rule about guessing how old a person or group of people appear to be and hope nobody ever makes a mistake. And finally, there have been several comments about the "kids" working here. First of all, it's not possible for any of the employees to be under 18 because that's the law in this state, so all of these employees are adults. Secondly, why do you care how old the employees are? Is there some sort of extra enjoyment you'd get out of being served by, say, a 60 year old man, instead of a 27 year old? Is it just jealously because you are a saggy, aged alcoholic and you can't stand seeing people who still have unblemished lives ahead of them? Okay, jokes aside. . . I don't really understand the age discrimination thing. I don't really care how old a person working a register is as long as they are friendly and do a good job, and everyone I've encountered has met that requirement for me. I give Macy's five stars for consistently providing awesome customer service to me for more than a decade!
