It's locally family-owned and operated, and you can absolutely feel that welcoming, community energy the second you walk in. They've got a solid lineup of beers on tap with some house staples (Farmer Nelson IPA is my personal go-to) plus rotating options that keep things interesting -- we especially love the seasonal sours. They also have sodas and chips, plus their own craft root beer, which is a fun touch. There's always a food truck parked outside (except Mondays), and we've consistently had great meals to go with our drinks. The space itself is a win: bar seating with purse hooks, several large indoor tables, and a large outdoor patio. Inside you'll find two pool tables, shuffleboard, a video game area and board games. Outside there's ping pong, which makes it extra fun for groups and kids. They also have large restrooms with baby changing tables.

They even let us bring in pizza from down the street to enjoy with our drinks. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, plus a cozy little couch area to hang out. In the back, they have a couple of pool tables if you want something to do while you sip. They're definitely dog‑friendly, too. One of the coolest touches is the artwork on the ceiling, inspired by the owner's favorite record albums. They were setting up the stage for live music while we were there, unfortunately, we had to leave before the show started. They host a lot of events, including food trucks, which is always a bonus. Their beer selection is wide, and they offer samples so you can find the right fit. I tried the Farmer Nelson Hazy IPA and really enjoyed it. Their pours come in UK pint sizes (20 oz), which is a nice surprise. My wife had the Go Nuts Cream Ale and loved her pick as well.

This review is for the Passport Service:…read more This Passport Service is by appointment only. I emailed them (they didn't respond to my voicemail) requesting an appointment for 3 passports. Got a reply back in 2 days and was able to book an appointment a month from my email. On the day of the appointment, I came 30 minutes early as instructed because I needed 3 passports to be done. The place was empty. The person at the passport section was just finish helping a customer and asked me if I had an appointment. I told her my appointment time and that the email told me to show up early because I had more than one passport to process. The person told me to wait and she will come back at my appointment time to help me then disappear (minus one star for making me come early for nothing and not willing to help me even though there was no other customers besides me at that time). Not wanting to leave and come back, I sat there for 30 minutes and waited. The person finally came back 10 minutes after my appointment time and took me. As I was handing her the paperwork, she said that the appointment was written down for only one passport. I told her that I was booked for 3 passports in the email and can show her the emails (minus one star for incorrect booking). She said it was okay and was fine with processing the 3 passports. After that, everything was smooth sailing. It took about 5-10 minutes for the paperwork for all 3 passports to be processed and I was out of there. What really helped speed up the process was I had all 3 passport applications, required docs, and checks well organized and paper clipped in 3 separate packets. My advice for this passport service is email them instead of calling to book an appointment and save all the email conversations (in case they make a mistake in your appointment booking). Also, make sure your paperworks are all organized and in order prior to coming in.....that way you can finish fast.

A wholesome venue…read more The Emilio Guglielmo Winery is a gorgeous venue. I came by for the anniversary Pasquale Esposito concert and had a great time. The staff did a great job at decorating the space and making this outdoor concert feel like an intimate experience. The table setup made the crowd feel like they're apart of a community. At sunset, this winery has stunning views of their vineyards. The concert was great. Pasquale is a resident guest of the winery and has a phenomenal voice. The food offered (chicken marsala, sausage and peppers, and balsamic vinegar dressed salad) was underwhelming. The selection was limited and food was cold. By the time I got to the food table, they had run out of the sausage dish. The wine selection was very good though. I particularly liked a few of the white wines offered during the event. The staff and servers were all friendly. It is apparent they all enjoy working here. The donation-pushing felt a bit tacky, however. During the entirety of my visit, I felt like I was being asked to donate (at the table, during dinner, before and after the performance). Of course their cause (providing music lessons to children) is incredibly important and has left a clear impact on the program's students, but it ended up taking away from my experience (especially considering the high cost of the concert tickets). Side note: the parking situation is challenging. There are very few handicapped parking stalls with a tiny lot. On concert nights, parking is located across the road at the neighboring high school. If you are visiting with anyone that has mobility issues, definitely come early to secure close parking. If you get the chance to see a Pasquale Esposito concert here, I would definitely go!

It was a delightful evening. Throughout the night, the wine kept coming. I never had an empty glass.

After 14 business days I reached out again and was connected with a nasty customer service rep. I was told it wasn't her fault that I was misinformed about shipping. Their shipping policy is not what I was told and there was nothing she could do about it because she was not in their shipping department. I was able to get in contact with who I was told was a supervisor who still could not tell me what the delay was since it was "picked" on December 12th. She told me she updated my order to next day air and it would ship on Wednesday, December 20th. It did not go out NDA. I reached out again and was told "I do not know why the shipping department did not send it Next Day Air, sorry." I will NEVER buy from this business again and I advise anyone looking for a timely shipment, look somewhere else!

"My wine-making philosophy is 'good grapes, good wine. The wine is made in the vineyard through…read moregood viticulture and by mother nature's fermentation process. The wine maker must be a good babysitter to this process." -- Jerry Ross So working and living in the area of Morgan Hill I have recently seen a bunch of signs popping up directing drivers to Morgan Hill's newest winery: Ross Vineyards. Turns out there are 50+ signs all about the area so after hiking Uvas Canyon, I saw a couple more and had to stop in. The Winery is situated on a Hill overlooking Chesebro Reservoir. The vineyard and winery are located on the site of the historic Coffe Ranch whose original owner Joseph Coffe came to the United States from France in 1870 and five years later Mr. Coffee founded The Wine Depot Winery in San Jose. The family lived and farmed on the 300-acre ranch along Llagas Creek in Morgan Hill for three generations the Coffe and cultivated 50 acres of vineyards. The original ranch buildings and farming/winery equipment are still at Ross Vineyards and it was a kick today tasting in the historic barn filled with antiques and photos. Jerry Ross is quite a character and is the main reason for the 5 stars. He was a non-stop story teller, with a Bud of all things, while his grandson was pouring wine and his wife Judy encouraged everyone to sit down and eat the hot dogs and beans that were prepared (I had a dog with the homemade beans. Very good). Jerry was a home winemaker starting in the late 90's and the winery was bonded in 2005. The tasting room opened in May, 2013 and it is a must-visit in the area for the views, the ambiance and the awesome vibes one gets from the Ross's. Married 50 years, this is how wine tasting should be: fun and unpretentious!!! (Here is what my 8 readers are waiting for) None of that fussy stuffiness and overblown pretentious nouveau-riche chateau you find at The Winery That Shall Not Be Named (although we usually do). A messy ranch with rental homes, a tasting room in a historic barn, hot dogs and beans from a crockpot and a funny dog knocking a balloon into the air with his nose until it pops. The winery sells only red wines, grown on Ross Hill Vineyard which is above the tasting barn, and they include Cabernet, Merlot, Barbera, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Petit Syrah, Mourvedre, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Syrah, and Zinfandel. I enjoyed the 2007 Tempranillo very much and bought two bottles. The other wines were good to very good and I think you will be surprised at the quality. Ross Hill Vineyard is two acres and the winery makes 14 barrels of wine a year. Most of the wines sell for between $20 to $25 So get away from snooty wineries (Hmmm, which one one comes to mind? Oh I remember...) where just getting a cracker, much less a taste, becomes an exercise in civil disobedience. Come out here in the beautiful backcountry of Morgan Hill and let the Ross's, on the 1st and 3rd weekend of every month, show you some true Santa Clara Valley hospitality. Highly recommended!
