Very overdue to try this local spot but was pleasantly surprised. It is nice inside comparable to any downtown atl hookah and drinks bar. Tons of beer specials on game days. Menu is limited but something for everyone. I had the whiting, fries and hush puppies and they were tasty. Attentive service as well. Hookah was $40 and $10 for refills so it was a HARD PASS for me. This place is a scam! It's the bait and switch for me! If you're going to call it Harold's it needs to be Harold's. The food was disgusting in every way. I threw the whole thing in the trash and I was hungry. I ended up eating ramen. I was pissed! They used old batter that had clumped up, so there were chunks of burnt batter attached to my chicken. The chicken itself was to be well done, but it wasn't. The fries were gross and mushy. They super soaked them in sauce to hide that they were old. They use yellow potato bread and the slaw was pinkish with a yogurt flavor. I've been eating Harold's my whole life and I've never seen anything like this. Where do I start. I ordered to go and was charge $3.80 for sitting in while waiting on my order. Both the chicken and Catfish were fried in OLD grease and over fried. The catfish was seasoned in with cajun seasoning which was not stated on the menu. The sweet potato fries and bread were ONLY the best part. What a waste of money. Just happened to stop in after the movies on a slow Sunday. Only going to order fried foods in an almost empty establishment I assumed this would be a quick in and out. Upon sitting down it took a server at least 15 minutes to greet us. Once she greeted us we immediately ordered our food and a bottle of water. It took our waitress Dominique 45 minutes to bring the water. I had to remind her twice as she would disappear for long periods at a time. the second time I reminded her she claimed she was waiting on the bartender which is unacceptable, its water. After over an hour our food came out lukewarm with no condiments. We were already tired of waiting for such a long time so we immediately asked for boxes , the check and condiments AGAIN. Rushing to hurry and leave we didn't pay too much attention to the bill. The next day we look at the bill only to realize that we were charged for an additional meal that we never ordered or received. We called and received no assistance over the phone, so we decided to go to the restaurant. Spoke to a very rude and unhelpful "manager" who ignored my complaint and started making drinks instead. She then came back and gave me $16 cash (instructed to do so by the owner) which was the cost of the extra meal however, that doesn't include taxes or gratuity. I stated this to her and she ignored me to turn around to start making drinks again. I have worked in industry for 10 years of my life and this was a disgusting display of "Customer service" I would have been better off going to Zaxbys around the corner. I'd advise that if you appreciate good customer service and good food to take your money elsewhere. With service like this Im sure they won't last much longer. read more

Brand new location. I've heard about the infamous HAROLDS & i just had to try it. The fried chicken was great. If you want to place an order for pickup, you have to do it on grub hub. It's a full bar inside and they have seating areas. It is small and I can imagine it can get packed at night. It is very small and the wait time for food can be very long. I visited this establishment 1/19/25 around 8pm. Wish I never stopped in and I definitely won't be back! Wasn't crowded and found seating quickly. It was about 10-15min before the server came over to introduce herself so we immediately ordered. The order was simple, fried shrimp, fried wings, and a bottled water. We didn't see the server for another 15min and she didn't have the bottled water so I kindly reminded her. After another 15min she came back around and said she didn't forget the water, she was waiting on the bartender to get it (doesn't quite make sense). It was about 45min later that we finally received a bottle of water. Maybe 10min after that the food came and it was not hot, felt like it had been sitting in the window for awhile. The server didn't bring any silverware or condiments so we again had to wait. When she brought the condiments we immediately asked for boxes and the check, NEVER thought it would take over an hour to get fried shrimp and wings in a spot with very few people. Irritated and ready to go I quickly signed the receipt and realized the next day I was charged for an extra meal. I called the establishment spoke to a guy who claimed to be the manager and he said he'd call me right back, 5hrs later no call. I call back and a female who claimed to be a manager, I believe Keyonna (could be wrong), put me on hold then hung up. I went up to the restaurant, found her and let her know who I was. She didn't say a thing, no apology, nothing. She took my receipt and disappeared to the back. After about 10min she came back with $16 cash for a meal that was $16. I paid with my card and she refused to go into the POS system to properly correct the transaction which would've adjusted my refund for both taxes and automatic gratuity. She looked as if she didn't quite understand how that worked and said the owner himself instructed her to give me only $16 back and proceeded to walk off and pour drinks. Incompetent, rude, and unprofessional is how I would describe this entire experience. All this and the damn food wasn't even good, my apologies, the yellow rice was on point. This is just another chicken joint with average wings and service and overpricing. Be aware that they add a mandatory 18% gratitude for dine in, 10% for take out. I'm very familiar with the original Harold's and its origin, and these new era Harold's aka knockoffs fall short on food and service. It's unfortunate that ethnic places here in Atlanta have all the same vibe, loud music, poor service, mediocre food, over pricing, and hood/strip club vibe. I will not return here. First off if you're going to call your place "Harold's" at least have the proper recipe. I went for lunch and after sitting down was treated promptly and politely by the bartender. She poured me a soda and later poured me a refill. I ordered a wing and fish combo. The wings came out hot and fresh. The fish came out greasy and burned. The fries were good. This is my issue. Upon tasting the chicken I could clearly see that it wasn't anything close to the Harold's on Edgewood, old nat, or Roswell rd. I asked the bartender about it and was told that this location is "independently owned." I get that part but why the hell would you call your business "Harold's" and intentionally mislead people into thinking you're serving Harold's chicken??? That's a terrible business practice. I'm not saying the chicken they served was bad because it wasn't, but in no way was it Harold's. Learn not to overcook your fish and change your restaurant name and would be my recommendation.
