Today for lunch I decided to do something a little different. I typically don't have long for lunch…read moreso most times I'm discouraged to get a good home cooked type of meal. I took a chance... let me say, I'm so happy I did. I have heard many great things about this sports lounge & the food that they offer. They are perfectly nestled into a highly trafficked strip off of Georgetown rd & it's welcoming for "regular lunchtime attire" even though as soon as I stepped in, I felt underdressed (in a good way) the place is VERY clean & fully equipped for both day and night time crowds. Parking is all shared with the neighboring stores/businesses but it is very large so no qualms about finding a good spot. I was surprised to have placed a food order for myself and my daughter around 12:45pm and my food was bagged and ready to go by 1:15pm - while I waited, I did partake in an alcohol slushy which was so delicious & well deserved haha. The kitchen staff that I came in contact with and the bartender (Jasmine, Ms. Gigi & Shamon (sp)) were all very sweet women and took their time answering all of my curious questions about the space as well as menu/drinks. Another fun fact I learned about this place is that it is BLACK OWNED!! The food quality was on point (no cheap ingredients) and it was still hot when I got home. Fried mushrooms are always a sports bar go to of mine & these lived up to my expectations, the catfish was juicy on the inside and perfectly fried on the outside- not one piece of the two large fillets were the seasonings compromised. My daughter LOVED her wings & we know how teenagers love chicken wings. She was also happy the red beans & rice weren't spicy like she's had in the past from other places. One last thing I'd like to mention is that I usually am annoyed that my to-go order didn't include proper utensils or sauces requested.... They did not shy away from giving me ample sauces & napkins (they were thick too)! All in all, AllStars gets 5 stars from me! I can't wait to go back but the next review for them will be of the nightlife, which I've seen people rave about on IG and I fear I have been missing out.

The night started great until we ordered food & drinks. The first thing was my friend ordered the lamb chop dinner and although she asked for WELL DONE it was red in the middle and her baked potato was hard as a brick and old. She thought it was mold on it but it was a lot of black spots. Then, They charged one friend $27 for a drink she did not order. They told my friend she had 2 drinks when she only had 1 drink. The manager (tall big bald head black man) came over and threw a $20 bill at her and told her she "not allowed to order shit else". My other friend ordered lamb chops and it took almost 2 hours for her to get her food. When she complained about it she found herself arguing with the server. Instead of the server apologizing and asking to make it right, she's arguing about who ordered first between all of us. Then my other friend ordered a catfish dinner TO GO. By now, it's 3.5 hours later and we all about to leave, her catfish dinner had not came out yet. When she asked about it to the female manager waved her hand at her & walked away as if she was lying. But in fact the server said she never put it in, I guess she had forgotten? Then last but not least I asked for some water before we left. The bartender said the manager said not to serve "us". I said, "No! He said her" (pointing to my friend). The bartender replied "no the whole table". WOW! It's 7 of us here and we all brought drinks & food, spent at least $350 and I can't get any water?! THATS CRAZY!!! But this what we get for trying to support our own kind (black people). Never again!!! I mean the drinks were good, the food was mid but the service is terrible!!! I was literally denied a cup of water after spending over $300 because they lied about my friend buying 2 drinks & didn't want to take it off our tab. We all work at the post office and we work hard for our money. We would not lie about a drink or an undercooked, spoiled dinner!! And although we make good money, we will not sit & pay $27 for a damn drink we did not order!!!!

I came for a car event but since it was during dinnertime, I needed something to get me by. For $5, you can get 4 perfectly cooked wings and fries. Just what I was looking for as I did not want a large number of wings. I had to wait for 20 minutes because we came in after the kitchen had closed for a short break but the server promised me that she would come find me when the kitchen re-opened. She was true to her word and came to take my order. I appreciate service like this. Wings are a solid 5 out of 5. Cooked perfectly golden and through. No undercooked spots and were decently sized too for the bonus. I did not expect the wings to be that good. You can get them cooked plain as I did or tossed in a sauce of your choice. What caught my eye was the various food selections on the menu. I will have to come back to some other items and see if they hold up to the wings. The bar is well stocked with spirits from the typical well options to some pricey spirits that you will not find at the usual sports bars. Chris, the owner is willing to help and answer questions. Emily made sure we were well taken of throughout our time at Nzone. They also had a DJ upfront that was high energy and tucked on the wall not too far from him is an arcade game.

The restaurant was busy, and became even busier as we were dinning. There were only two servers for the entire restaurant. We waited quite a while for our order to be taken. We actually saw three different tables get up and leave the restaurant because no one came to take their order. The table next to us waited a while as well. When the server finally came to their table, she said, " I'll get to you when I can." We had a different server from the table next to us. Our server got our order wrong and our bill was incorrect. The restaurant has around 13 TVs, making it a great place to watch sporting events. As mentioned this was Sunday after the INDY 500. Being broadcast while we were at Gatsby was the replay of the Indy 500, the NASCAR race, the Pacers pre-game for the eastern finals. Gatsby had the Indy 500 on one TV. NASCAR and the Pacers were not shown at all. What was shown? The same UFL game was on five TVs, women's softball, happy TV network, 60 minutes, and two TVs that scrolled advertisement for bar poker. I've nothing against UFL and women's softball. But this is Indianapolis and it's the day of the 500 in the Pacers! There were also several individuals in the restaurant with Kyle Larson shirts. I know they would've been interested in the NASCAR race since Kyle ran both the 500 and made it in time to Charlotte for nascar. Sadly, it appears management of Gatsby missed the mark tonight on a couple of items. First, they underestimated the crowd on a holiday weekend and misjudged the number of servers that they needed in the restaurant. There is a hotel right next-door to Gatsby's. We saw several groups of individuals entering the hotel, coming from the race. We also saw several groups walking from the hotel to Gatsby's for dinner. Management misunderstanding the impact of the race on their business is one thing. Another is the apparent lack of comprehension of a large group of out-of-town visitors at a hotel next-door. Second, management did not appear to be cognizant of the local sporting events and the concept of what patrons may want to watch on a sports filled weekend at a sports pub. As mentioned Gatsby's is our favorite place for pizza and fried mushrooms. We will definitely return for those items and give them another try. This visit just sadly disappointed with regards to the customer service and customer awareness aspect. And was not a good representation of what Indianapolis has to offer for out of town visitors.

It had a kick, so it was what it said it would be. -we also split a Cheese Pizza ($17) on their regular crust. the cheese was generously applied, sauce was OK, the crust was subpar and not something we would order again (Visit #2) -Bavarian Pretzel Sticks ($12) come as an order of 4 lightly salted sticks with sides of nacho cheese and honey mustard. The sticks are among the better pretzel offerings I have had. Not the best (that would be 101 craft kitchen and Red Front), but definitely better than average. -Da Beef ($14) was a nice portion of beef. If you're not a meat-eater, it probably won't appeal. If stairs aren't your thing, it could be a dealbreaker unless there's another route I don't know of.

Turns out the entire heated patio is first come, first served, and we were seated almost immediately. It was one of those windy Indiana afternoons where the cold finds every gap in your jacket. I fully expected to spend lunch shivering. Somehow, the heated patio felt warmer than the restaurant itself. Between the TVs, football on every screen, and the patio heaters, we had zero complaints. Now let's talk about the famous pepperoni-stuffed breadsticks. They're a must. And order your own nacho cheese. Seriously. Don't expect anyone to share. I could eat a shoe dipped in their cheese and probably enjoy every bite. The breadsticks always arrive piping hot, stuffed with gooey mozzarella, and if we're judging on a cheese-pull scale...I'm giving them a solid 7/10 on the stretch meter. As for our server, Zach...what a true gem. He's one of those people I'd honestly be surprised to hear anyone say they didn't like. Funny, quick with the jokes, and somehow kept up with the chaos without missing a beat. He also made sure my lemon drop martinis never had a chance to get lonely. Since I wasn't driving, he happily assisted me in...staying hydrated. The place was busy enough that we couldn't stand around chatting long, but he's the kind of person you'd genuinely enjoy running into again. We've been here twice now, and both visits have been consistently great. Whether you're stopping in to catch the game, escape the cold on the heated patio, or simply satisfy a craving for those ridiculously good breadsticks, Ale Emporium continues to be one of our favorite spots. Just don't skip the breadsticks...and trust me, order your own cheese. You'll understand after the first bite.
