This is the second time I've visited. I started off with Rum Punch that was super tasty. I had red snapper with cabbage, plantains red beans and rice. I came to Jamaican breeze because my regular go-to place was closed for the day. I ordered the Whole Red Snapper, Escovitch style, and it was the biggest whole snapper I've ever been served! It was fried to a perfect crisp, leaving the meat inside moist and tender. The Escovitch--a tangy, vinegary marinade--was loaded with fresh pickled carrots and just the right amount of scotch bonnet heat. I had ordered food off DoorDash to be delivered to my work place. The food I had ordered was very flavorful and the price was a good price especially to be ordering it off DoorDash. Celebrated my friends birthday yesterday at Jamaica breeze and we had such a great time. The staff was so attentive and nice (from our waitress to the chef). They went above and beyond for my friend who we were celebrating. They also went out of their ways to serve the birthday cake that we brought. The food was so good. Everything we tried was flavorful and we cleaned our plates. The oxtail and goat was soft, flavorful and delicious. The ribs was so flavorful and succulent. My least favorite item was the curry chicken but it was still tasty just not as good compared to other places. The plantains were so good but sadly we only got two pieces in a meal. There was Jamaican old hits music playing that brought me back to Jamaica and the overall atmosphere was light. There was also a DJ in the night and an option for people to do karaoke. I took a chance here trying out some new to me and my groups food type. Well not so much of a chance because i looked at recent pictures other Yelpers posted haha. The food looked good and we were just down the street at the fair grounds. They had a steady stream of togo orders as well as seated late lunch goers. I was seated in the outdoor section for a little over 30 minutes being ignored by the server as they asked others around me if they needed anything, being selective in who was acknowledged even with attempts to flag them down for service. I finally went inside to place an order at the bar, who notified the server that I had placed an order and to bring it out to me when it was ready. They noted my name and where I was sitting all while standing there. The server even confirmed my name after I was back seated outdoors. Not much was coming out but then tables began receiving their food. Although it had been awhile, I was patient until I noticed tables that had arrived after me were well into their meals. Even those in my party received their food, but not me. I went inside to check at the bar and was referred to the front to check on it. As I waited my turn, the server who was supposed to bring my food walked up and asked "You haven't gotten your food yet?" HOW? If you haven't brought it to me? She then turned to a young lady at the front saying I needed my food, who asked what had. When I told her, she said "Oh, that's what was sitting on the counter forever." The server responded "Yes. Have them make it again." By this point it had been an hour since I placed my order, and the meal was remade in moments, so the server seemingly intentionally just didn't bring it out for whatever reason. I still would've been waiting if I hadn't gone in to check myself. Also, moments before I went in my brother had gone in to place an order but was told the kitchen was closed - however they were taking new orders when I went in to inquire about mine. Later orders were being taken table side outdoors as well. Besides whatever this Mac and cheese was supposed to be, the food was pretty good. Even though I ordered white meat, it was very tender. The mild sauce was delicious. All in all, I'm only deterred from giving this place another try because of the multiple strikes of subpar service - maybe getting takeout would be best. read more

We got the Sunday special of beef chuck roast, with some fried dumplings and plantains. Kree was our waitress today. She sat us down and helped us pick out some food. Tender chicken, well blended spices and textures, and a super friendly staff. We had the curry chicken and the jerk chicken as well as a Jamaican chicken patty. All were excellent. There's no menu hanging up, but there are QR codes around to scan to see what they serve. So don't be intimidated. And the staff were friendly and happy to have us there enjoying their great food. I got the oxtail and Mac and cheese as I usually do when I go to Jamaican restaurants. Got it home put it in my bowl to eat and started eating and realized a few things. The food was hot and ready when I placed my order but i have oxtail that is NOT tender at all and really fatty, and the Mac and cheese has zero flavor... not impressed. The oxtail being almost inedible made for a messy and unpleasant eating experience as well. It made me feel like i really wasted my money and I don't like that. On Friday night, January 30, 2026 My wife, two friends and I visited Jamaican Breeze at 8:20 PM. When we arrived after being shown a table, we were told that the food WOULD NOT be served on plates, but in a box. We asked why and after several minutes of back and forth, the server relented (female) and we could have our food on a plate. We also asked the Server, initially, if we'd need to leave at 9:00 PM, exactly. She told us that we would be able to finish eating. After waiting for nearly twenty (20) minutes, the food came. By then, the staff/Server was cleaning up preparing for close. Our Server held the door to the restaurant open for a lengthy period of time, allowing an exorbitant amount of cold air to enter the restaurant. On several occasions we asked if the restaurant could please turn the heat on or up. The outside temperature on January 30th was 11℉, not including wind chill. No adjustment was made, to the point we were all sitting trying to eat in our coats. After about 10 minutes my wife asks, "Did you turn the heat off on us?" The Server, without hesitation, replied, "Yes, we are closing." At that point, I'd had all that I could take. I have NEVER BEEN DENIED HEAT OR A/C in a RESTAURANT where I spent MORE than $110 for a meal. This kind of treatment was BEYOND RUDE, INHOSPITABLE and, in FACT, INHUMANE!! I paid for our meal, I even tipped the Server which, in retrospect, all of our party said should have been $0. But I did anyway. My ADMONITION to ANYONE who would go to this establishment is: 1. DO NOT eat in the dining room; 2. DO NOT GO in the evening! 3. DO NOT GO in the winter! I ASSURE YOU NONE of the four of us will be frequenting this restaurant EVER again!! read more

We recently visited Jamaican Breeze for the first time for sit-down dinner, with our vegan friends who raved about their almost weekly take-out veggie stew order. We visited early on a Thursday night and were one of the few dine-in customers, but we noticed a steady flow of take-out pickups and Door Dash drivers. Menu-wise, we wanted to try the oxtail, jerk chicken, and jerk ribs, and found the combo offerings a great option to try more dishes out. Both of our dishes came with the rice and peas mix, steamed cabbage, and plantains. Our vegan friends ordered their same tried-and-true vegan vegetable mix. Our favorite item was the dark meat jerk chicken and hot sauce; we poured that sauce over everything and will order more next time. We also enjoyed the oxtail, but probably missed out on some of the meat still left on the bones...mostly because we felt awkward in sucking meat off the bone in front of a vegan audience. I enjoyed the butter beans that came with the oxtail, as well as the steamed cabbage carrot mix. We noticed the menu was very vegetarian and vegan friendly, for those interested in exploring those offerings. The restaurant was very clean, with a friendly, casual environment that was colorfully decorated. The owners did a really good job in refreshing the space, from its prior lives as different restaurants. Our service was also very welcoming and understanding of our need to chat with our friends, commiserate, and catch up. The seasonings on both leaned toward the mild side, but were tasty. I was expecting a spicier meal, but it was flavored nicely. The rice and bean side was large and it came with fried plantains too! The inside was lively, except for people sitting around waiting for to go orders. It was busy while we were here, but our food showed up right on time. I miss the Jamaican restaurant that used to be close to my house off the Monon in Carmel. Last Saturday I tried this other Jamaican place that gets good reviews - and I was not disappointed. We sat inside since it was hot - there's regular seating inside as well as a bar section with high-top tables. The decor is colorful and fun, service was fast and friendly. There's also a counter for takeout. We ordered the salt fish and the curry goat - they were both excellent. A little bit on the salty side, but that could be just personal preference. The dishes came with beans and rice, sauted cabbage, fried plantains and a choice of fried or boiled dumplings. We tried both dumplings - the boiled was definitely the winner. This is a wonderful Jamaican restaurant in Indy, near the State Fairgrounds. They have tons of parking, two patio areas, an indoor dining room, and bar seating. They have have a full bar with some signature cocktails. They also have a pool table and stage where bands play on certain days. The patio in the front is awesome. That is where I chose to eat. There is Jamaican tunes playing inside and outside and there are TVs at the bar that you can watch. The restaurant and bar are very clean. The restaurant/bar is well decorated and really gives you a Jamaican vibe. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. I finally got up the nerve to get some ox tail. I ordered the ox tail/rib combo. It came with some of the best and juiciest plantains that I have ever had. The ribs were to die for. I could not get enough of them. The ox tail was better than I expected. The combo was topped off with a bunch of rice and some cabbage. I really enjoyed my meal here and I liked that I was able to step out of the norm and try something different. Their food is delicious and you get a ton of it.
