***Sam the mechanic himself is great. I want to clarify that first*** DON'T GO HERE IF YOU'RE A WOMAN My family has been coming here since I was a little girl. (I am 26 now) It used to be owned by Johnny himself, who was respectful and caring. Whoever the old man with the white hair who works at the desk is now, he is straight up mean and arguably sexist (I have seen several other reviews from women sharing the same sentiment and no men) I called in 2 days ago and asked to make an appointment. They said they don't take appointments, but that if I came in at 4:15 today, they'd be able to take me. Fast forward to today...at 4:15....I have this creepy old man staring at me like i'm insane saying it's "impossible" to fit me in. His tone made it obvious he thought I was incredibly naive, just by being a younger woman. He even asked me if I meant to go to the tire shop next door! AFTER I said what I needed done. When I pulled up my phone record of the conversation with their correct phone number and insisted that I was told I could come in today at 4:15, he straight up laughed at me! and not like a "oops my bad" laugh-- a condescending, rude laugh. Such a shame to see a once relied-upon place go straight to hell. And also unfortunate for them to lose an entire family's worth of loyal customers. read more

Went in to this shop last week for an oil change. Will never go back. 100% agree with Christa G and Jen L and all other negative reviews. The man that sits at the front desk is very rude and unwelcoming. He makes you uncomfortable. Perhaps if they replace him this business may still have a chance despite only having one mechanic who is probably going to retire soon and doesn't care either way about your car problems. It used to be the "go-to" mechanic shop when Johnny owned it many moons ago. Apparently, the new owner doesn't care that he hires two people to run his business by chasing customers away. Maybe he doesn't know this or doesn't care. You need to visit this place at least once just to experience "Mr. Personality". read more

I've been coming here since I moved to Glendora. Sam the mechanic is the nicest man you'll meet and takes care of your car. I thought he was the owner and the old man just a coworker working the front desk but apparently he's the owner. I always talk to Sam when he works on my cars and even help him out so we can chat. This time around it took us a little longer on my oil change because they don't really do diesel oil changes so I had to get the oil filter myself and oil which I did. Oil filter was the wrong one so I had to run across the street to get the right one. Took us an hour and the old man told me to never come back again. Wanted to charge me 110 for the hour of labor and said he rather just not give me service anymore. Seems like everyone complains about him from the reviews. Sam was upset but he's not the owner so I guess I can't come back. He should be the owner not that stale angry old man. read more

****WOMEN BEWARE**** My mother and I went in on Thursday to get a smog check on my 2012 Nissan Sentra. My car has had it's "Check Engine" light on for about a month, but nothing has ever felt wrong while driving it. Also, besides needing an occasional oil change or new break pads, my car has NEVER had any serious complications. We went in and they immediately told us they could not run a smog until they ran a test and found out what was wrong with the car since the engine light was on. We left my car there and my mother made it very clear that she did not want to be charged for anything without a phone call or consent and if there were ANY fees she would need to know now, to run it by my father. They agreed and took the car in. First of all - we did not receive a phone call letting us know they checked the engine. We had to go back hours later after grabbing lunch and running errands. When we went in - they said that it has already been checked and brought us into the office. The lady working in the front office told us it was going to cost nearly $400.00 for a new sensor, smog, and labor work. We immediately knew that was overpriced, and my mother told her she would have to go home and talk to her husband who was at work. The secretary then said "you can call him and we could talk to him" WHILE HE WAS AT WORK. My mother thought that was so rude and said no, we want the car we will be in touch. She then said we would need to pay $90.00 to have the car released to us, a FEE WE WERE NOT INFORMED ABOUT. After arguing back and forth she finally released the car to us. Also, she kept going back to the garage and then to us again and speaking in a different language which we thought was extremely sketchy. We got the car and drove it home about 2.5 miles away. Later that SAME night when I was driving my car back to my house, I didn't make it 1 mile away from my house and my car was jerking, stalling, and the RPM gage kept going back and forth rapidly between 1 and 2. I almost didn't make it up the hill and was TERRIFIED my car was going to give out going uphill. We immediately knew that they had done something with my car. I waited until I went to a REAL mechanic to write this review, and was informed today that there is a hole in my hose, something that was probably done by them. Most likely in hopes that we would go back to them and pay or their service. I am absolutely disgusted with this place and it's service and in all honesty - hope the lady in the front desk and whatever mechanic did this to my car get let go. Overall, this body shop seems sketchy and money-hungry and will absolutely take advantage if you are a woman. I have no doubt they know what they are doing because of the good reviews left on here, but there are so many other auto shops in the area that have INTEGRITY and CLASS who do just of good as a job. Do not go to a place with such low moral compass. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!! I would honestly give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

First time here and I would recommend them. I like the no pressure, tells you what's needed, answers honestly and completes work in a timely manner. I work on my own vehicles. So I already know what's needed for the repair and have a pretty good estimate of the cost(s) associated with any repairs or testing. Recently had a smog check done here and it was a no nonsense get the test done. Also had some routine maintenance done here. Did it right the first time. So no issues so far. I have never written a Yelp review before but I had such a terrible experience here that it would be wrong to not warn others about this place. Especially if you are a young female, do not go to this place unless you want to be laughed at and treated like a clueless idiot from the second you walk in their doors. I walk in and an older male with white hair (I didn't get his name) is sitting in the chair behind the front desk watching a video on speaker on his phone. He doesn't even look up even though it would be impossible for him to not have seen me 2 feet in front of him and after a while I say "hello". He finally looks up and I say that I am here for an oil change and I tell him my make and model. He has a hard time understanding what I'm saying and I have to repeat myself multiple times. I don't mind that he has trouble understanding since it's clear English isn't his first language, and that isn't something I would ever get impatient at someone for. However, what was beyond frustrating was the entire time, he had a condescending smirk on his face and he was looking at me as if I wasn't making any sense even though all I said at this point was the reason I was there and what my car is. Finally he says "wait an hour" and I say "ok that's ok, I'm going to get picked up and can come back in an hour." Once again he doesn't understand me and I repeat myself several times while he's looking at me as if this is so hilarious and entertaining. He says "give me your keys." He finds my car and drives it into the work station and doesn't come back out. After a few minutes, I go to him because I want to double check with him that I'm not only here for the oil change, but also a multi point inspection and tire rotation. He looks at me as if I had just said the most bizarre thing ever. I elaborate that every 6 months/5000 miles, I'm supposed to have the air filters cleaned, the brakes inspected, the windshield wipers inspected, etc. and he continues to look at me with the same condescending smirk and at this point he's laughing and exchanging looks with the other mechanic there. He says he will do everything while continuing to laugh with the other mechanic. I asked him about the price and he sounded like he was making it up on the spot and says "like 60, 65." I ask "can I have an exact price" and he says 60. I then ask how long will it take and he says 30 minutes. It was my mistake to leave during these 30 minutes. I come back in about 25 minutes and my car is already parked back in the parking lot. The man just says "the oil is good, the tires are good." I ask if I can get a print out or written paper of what exactly was checked, and he laughs. He says there's a sticker in my car that says when I will need my next oil change. I tell him that I am aware of the sticker but I want a paper entailing what exactly was done to my car today, and that I always get one at all the other auto shops I go to. He continues to tell me about the sticker multiple times as if I can't understand. Finally, I ask "can I speak to someone else" and he is having such a blast at this point, laughing and smirking and acting as if I'm a completely clueless airhead. He literally just says "no" as he continues to laugh. I am really frustrated at this point so I pay $60 and leave. After I leave, I remember that one of my tire rims had a large scratch on it before and I check to see if the tire is still in the same spot, and of course it is. So he obviously didn't rotate my tires like he said he would. I also remember that one of my windshield wipers has been broken and part of the multi point inspection is checking windshield wipers. He obviously didn't check these either. Long story short, I have never been treated so rudely before. He also straight up lied and said he would check and do all these things that he evidently did not do. Now I am doubting that he even changed my oil. Please do not go here and go somewhere legit where they will actually do what they claim to do and not scam and laugh at you because they assume you don't know anything because of your appearance. read more

Horrible place! I took my brand new car here for an oil change...my first oil change. And when they finished they brought my car to the front and right away I seen a big bright royale blue scratch on my front bumper and my own paint missing. I immediately brought it to their attention and they sai no they have nothing that color, I literally pointed at the royale blue lifts they had my car up on and they just argued it. Despite the other reviews I read about this place, I was actually pleased with the service I got for my brakes. I had a coupon that came from this business and I decided to try them out. The service tech accepted the coupon and performed the job. The tech quoted me about an hour but it turned out he had to resurface my rotors so it took longer. I arrived around 8am on a Saturday and my car was ready by 11am. My husband also went me to pick up the car and he got a quote for a synthetic oil change that was lower than another garage. my coolant hose broke on route 66 by johnnys auto.that's how I went there. my ford f-150 is my pride and joy and I needed my transmission rebuilt.johnnys said they could do it(they would remove it and it would be shipped out to be rebuilt).I had not heard from them for several weeks and I was in Glendora so I stopped in to check on it. johnny said oh it's almost ready.i took it for a drive and it wasn't shifting right.it was not right.he told me to just drive it and it would get better.i was furious.i said no,this must be right.a week later I got my truck and it was good.3 weeks later I noticed red fluid leaking so collected some in a ziplock bag.went back and told them about it.my truck's up on rack and they say they don't see anything.i showed them the bag of red fluid.they did not replace a gasket and 2 'o' rings new when they reinstalled my trans.they are dishonest and they overcharge.sorry I ever went there.s.w. read more
