Not army navy any longer. It's now a uniform store for public service sector jobs. That's not a bad thing. But, when one is looking for army surplus... the worker walks you to the 6x8 area and stands there. Not sure why. There isn't anything army or navy to steal if you wanted to. This is a wonderful store that is family-owned for three generations. My family has been shopping here for over 25 years. We can always count on Harriman Army Navy for high quality clothes and a wide selection of inventory. They also do expert alterations and carry beautiful women's gowns and prom dresses. They are currently making quality masks during the pandemic which we were thankful to buy. I'd rather shop locally than at all the big box stores that sold out America years ago. I am writing this review because I think the public should know what a disgrace this establishment truly is!!! I originally went to this store because my son likes army / camouflage clothes. The odor in the store was horrendous!!! WHAT A STINK BOMB!! I tried to forge ahead while my son shopped, but it was not easy. The smell of mold overwhelmed the entire place. I am an asthmatic & found it difficult, at best, to breathe while in the store. My son found some items he liked, but when I looked at the process, I WAS SHOCKED! I like to patronize small business. And, against my better judgment I purchased my son a shirt. By the way, the shirts priced $69 probably cost the store somewhere around $12. Talk about a profit....WOW! I actually looked online, when I returned home & saw the same exact shirt for $30. WHAT AN OUTRAGE! Then, I moved on to the women's section. I heard some people quarreling. It was a store manager scolding an employee IN FRONT OF ALL THE CUSTOMERS. I cannot believe the level of unprofessional behavior I witnessed while shopping here. In addition, there were visible holes in the walls & ceiling. There were wires hanging. It looked very unsafe. I'm frankly surprised the board of health allows this. Well, as if that weren't enough, here's where it gets worse - as if that were possible. I should have brought popcorn for the entertainment value alone. But the truth is that the situation was more appalling than entertaining. A special needs woman came into the store. It seemed an employee new her by name and greeted her pleasantly. When the owner saw this, she began to speak to the patron rudely & with a level of disrespect I wouldn't use on an enemy. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!! By the end of the short conversation, the special needs patron was extremely confused & rightfully quite upset. She ended up leaving the store as the owner rolled her eyes as if this were too trivial for her to handle. The employees scattered. It appeared as if they were hiding from the owner. The only employee remaining was a boot salesman. He talked so much my ears wanted to BLEED! He was very nice but TOO MUCH TALKING!!! Possibly the biggest shocker was the mouse that ran across the floor while we were shopping....BOARD OF HEALTH - - - HELLO????? ANYONE HOME????? As I was leaving, my son noticed the army medals. He thought they looked cool. My husband, a Marine vet, EARNED his medals. Therefore I find it disrespectful that the very same medals were on sale for public purchase. How is that even possible? Is that legal? We all would like to support our local small businesses. But, when they treat their employees with zero dignity & even less respect and they make a concerted effort to rip you off, it's not even a remote possibility to patronize this establishment! If you decide not to take my advice and/or you just have to see this "shit-hole" for yourself, take notice of the 2 short plump brunettes. They look like sisters. I know one is the owner.
