Everything is built with accessibility in mind ramps, wide pathways, sensory features, musical instruments, and even mini pretend storefronts that spark imaginative play. The rubberized ground covering is such a bonus for safety too soft, clean, and comfortable for little ones learning to navigate the world. There's also a splash pad right next door, which is an absolute magnet on hot Texas afternoons. Shaded picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park, making it easy for parents and caregivers to relax without feeling like you have to hover the entire time. What makes Hope Park extra special is the heart behind it. I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I see cross-fit groups out here all the time. There is a huge running/walking/biking loop around the entire park and connecting to other routes. I think also some kids soccer groups also play here. Families: there is a very large playground with benches and shade! It's top notch and well maintained. Tweens/teens- there are benches and sick places to hang. You can even bring hammocks. There is plentiful parking. Picnic tables. Families often come out on nights with solar events and their telescopes. To be fair it is super well lit so it may not be the best place for star gazing, but you get many people to interact with. Plus let me add for Pokémon Go players- three gyms and 6 Pokéstops so this makes for excellent playing.

Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!

The largest lot should be rotated so the large dogs can have more room to run and some shade trees. There are no shade trees where they keep the large dogs. It's boring it's just big piece of grass we have to watch where you step. I've contacted the management and said why don't you put some trees in there if you're not going to allow the large dogs in the big lot? And they have all kinds of strange governmental excuses. Last year they said they were going to build some type of a cover inside the lot but never did.

This is the coolest free indoor playground I've seen in a while! Don't be alarmed of how small it…read morelooks from the outside or inside, it packs a MEAN PUNCH! Those slides in there especially the blue one is adult sized and oh so fun! I went down it a few times an almost had whiplash from the speed and all the twist and turns! And it feels like the slide goes foreverrrrr. The entire playhouse is tall enough for adults to play inside which is hardly ever the case at most places! It was jam packed full of people by the time we left, and we got there right when it opened at 10am. Check in is a breeze. You tell the nice lady behind the counter your name and kids name and they give you a sticker. If it's your first time you simply fill out a form and then get the same sticker. Shoes have to remain on and it is located inside what looks to be a mega church! Ample parking and very nice parents who go there.

The sweet spot for this playground is probably 3-6 years, but there is plenty to do for the younger ages too. The max age for entry is 10. There are slides, climbing areas, and a rubber-bottomed hill for the kids to run up and roll down. Despite being fully closed in, the play area is bright and doesn't feel cramped at all (in comparison to Irving Bible Church's THE TUBES). Everything was exceptionally clean. The playground is open M-F from 10a-4p. It is free and open to the public, but you must check in at the desk in front of the play area before entering. No food or drinks in the play area and children MUST wear shoes. This was a bit of a drive for us, so I packed a lunch and after the kids had their fill of the playground, we headed over to the indoor eating area on the opposite side of the church ("The Commons") to eat. Overall a great morning of free fun - THANK YOU Prestonwood Baptist Church!
