I went to Dr. Giannuzzi a couple of months ago for a cosmetic procedure. Long story short, I took a falloff my porch, face planted and chipped a front tooth. I was devastated to say the least because my teeth and smile are my money maker. Ok, I kid So in speaking to a cousin a similar thing happened to him where he chipped a front tooth and recommended Dr. Giannuzzi for a veneer. We actually chipped the same exact front tooth and his veneer was FLAWLESS. I couldn't even tell the difference between either of his front teeth and the color match was perfect I made the appointment for the consult and was absolutely blown away by how efficient and friendly the front office staff was, how clean the office was and how wonderful the Doctor was. After this cosmetic procedure is complete I will go here for my general dental needs like cleanings and exams!

I did not expect to get an earful of INSULTS from my dental office about canceling an appointment for a cleaning. YES INSULTS! I said to myself this supervisor won't last long with her attitude she'll be fired in the next couple of months! I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to attend this office with how they have treated myself and my husband. To my surprise TERRIBLE TARA was still a figure in the office and this what started out as a call from a receptionist Venessa to let me know my insurance rejected my last visit for cleaning I told her I would call back once I spoke to my health insurance she called me back in less than an hour asking me that I called them yet I explained to her that I'm home dealing with twins in fifth grade doing distance-learning during COVID 19 and she still seem to be very pushy on the phone with me. I told her to at least give me 24 hours she actually HUNG UP on me after I told her how rude she was being so I called back and asked to speak to a manager and it was Tara. She as experience once before I started to get into a back-and-forth with me the customer I even let her know that I have never witnessed an office actually arguing back-and-forth with a customer that she is on the clock and should be way more professional than she is presenting herself to be. She actually even started to say that my family has been a burden on "them". I don't care if we have been the worst customers in America which we were not in the least bit way every time I come to this office my hygienist and I laugh joke and talk about our family. She has witnessed me get married. I have witnessed her have children! It's such a shame, painful and sorrowful that now I am going to need to look for a new dental office after five years but it just seems as though when this new supervisor came about that everything changed. I know she's going to try to combat this review with some thing that I hope I don't have to sue them for because HIPPA is real!!!! Made appointment at oral surgeons office for my brother to take her. Filled out a lengthy health form So he wouldn't have to complete any of the information on her. He gets her there on time and they proceeded to make her wait over a half hour to see the specialist. They make him fill out all the paperwork over again because the company that theyused to collect my info lost it. They look at her mouth for half a second to tell her that the tooth needs to come out. And since her on her way after billing her another $150. It's nice to know that they make a 90-year-old woman slept through the freezing cold winter to tell her the most obvious thing ever. Can't believe I have to go back to this place to still have this tooth removed. They don't have any late nights either so if you can't take a day off from work, you can't go there.

Yes, their office is gorgeous and straight out of Architectural Digest, and the staff is fawning, like overly needy friends (the word "Stepford" comes to mind) -- until the deal is closed. I went to Center for Smiles when my previous dentist, Dr. Kuncio, sold her practice to him. He turned out to be the opposite of Dr. Kuncio, who was honest and straightforward, and very mindful of what her patients could afford. To my knowledge, none of her staff who went to work at Center for Smiles is still employed there. Indeed, there seemed to be a high turnover of staff at Center for Smiles in the 15 months I was a patient there. Some highlights: 1. Vidya Sartorious, the office manager, collected $6,000 from Care Credit on my behalf when only $1,100 worth of work had been done. 2. Failed to file for preauthorization with my denta; insurance, as promised, so my claim was denied. 3. Vidya Sartorious (at the behest of Dr. Rallis) tried to rush me into completing this work, and pushed up demands for MORE money, directly contradicting Dr. Rallis' prior verbal agreements with me. 3. Dr. Rallis did not listen to my concerns, and failed to reconsider his treatment plan for a $23K bridge, even after I repeatedly expressed doubt because of underlying infections and pain in the affected teeth. ("We can take care of that infection afterwards, with an apicoectomy." But first we will put a $23K 10-tooth bridge on top? Umm,no.) 4. After I appealed to Care Credit, Dr. Rallis claimed to have done an additional $1645 worth of work, which, if true, was done without my knowledge, permission, or consent. I expressly withdrew my consent that very day, before this work was done, until my insurance preauthorization was worked out. I did not and would not have given permission for this work. I only agreed to a temporary bridge. 5. Did not file with my insurance company for this additional work, either, although it would have been denied for failure to get a preauthorization, the issue I confronted them with that very day. 6. Has yet to send me a copy of my x-rays after several months, and refused delivery of my second, certified mail request. This is just the tip of the iceberg of this very unfortunate experience, with further legal action pending.

He went to Dr. Ralis because his previous dentist retired and sold her practice to Dr. Ralis. His charge was $800 more than my dentist whom my son ultimately used. After Dr. Ralis assessed him for the root canal he suggested that even though my son was having no problems, that he have his wisdom teeth pulled and then Dr. Ralis would adjust his bite. When my son asked my dentist about this, he said that yes his bite was a little off but there was no negative impact and no reason to do the work if he wasn't having any issues. I can only imagine what Dr. Ralis would have charged. As another reviewer said , they are overly fawning. They try to act as if they are your best friends not your dentist. They also convinced me to buy an electric tooth brush from them for $150 that i could have gotten online for $110. Very sorry I was pressured and taken in my them for that but very happy they didn't do my son's root canal. My advice is to go elsewhere. I see Dr Michael Feldstein in Flushing. I paid for my Invisalign treatment in full, trusting I'd receive quality care. Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn. I was told I'd hear from Invisalign within two weeks--but that timeframe came and went with no update. When I followed up, I was met with vague explanations and shifting responses. No accountability, no clear communication. After requesting to cancel treatment, the orthodontist's wife--who helps manage the office-reached out to me in attempts to explain the breakdown in communication. Her first reason for their office disorganization was due to her staff whom she called "clueless". Later, she used a personal death as an excuse for the office's delays which was neither here nor there for me due to the fact that it was only communicated only after I had already expressed concerns multiple times. While I absolutely sympathize with personal loss, it should never be used to deflect from a pattern of inefficiency. If there are unusual circumstances that knowingly creates a lag in business, That information should have been professionally communicated to clients as soon as it occurred. It is a form of courtesy in the least and at best, shows consideration and respect for the client's business and time. While speaking with the doctor's wife, what was most insulting was her assumption about my finances. She told me I should continue treatment with them because it would be "too expensive" for me elsewhere--as if she had any insight into what I could or could not afford. That level of overstepping was completely inappropriate. Not only did they delay my treatment but I had to repeatedly DEMAND cancellation. Instead of honoring my decision, they repeatedly tried to convince me to continue, using pressure tactics rather than professionalism by having mutliple people reach out to me (doctor, staff, wife) when I clearly stated that I did not want to speak with anyone and simply wanted to cancel. And when they finally canceled treatment as I requested , they retroactively charged me for a cleaning I had received at the start--one that was originally presented as complimentary. This felt retaliatory and only confirmed my decision to walk away. As previously stated, the doctor's wife repeatedly emphasized how great of a deal I was getting and how I wouldn't be able to afford any other provider or find that price else where. Ironically, I found another provider offering the exact same price, with a more modern facility, efficient communication, and respectful staff--no manipulation, no excuses. If you're considering long-term orthodontic care, I encourage you to look for an office that respects your time, your intelligence, and your investment. And to the staff I'd be careful working for an employer who disrespects and throws you under the bus privately to their clients to save face for "the business". In truth, unknowledgeable staff says more about the management and leadership. Lastly, (this is the kicker) I called the office to request my X-rays so I could transfer them to another provider.
