Appointments are always available and he even gives out his cell phone number if you need it, what doctor does that these days! its awesome. This review pertains to PA. Rebecca. She was professional and as soon as she came in the room with her smile she put me at ease. Her bedside manner is exceptional, she actually listens to the patient and asks probing questions to investigate the root of the cause. Her explanations are understandable and includes the patient in the plan of action. I was not very convinced about this place the previous 2 times I had to go there, it felt like I was being seen in the ER or Urgent Care (very rushed and very rigid environment) even though I had appointments. I have been going to this office for about 3 years now. Recently, they have been less than honest with their billing. I have superb insurance which the office has on file. During a visit, an xray was warranted due to my condition and price was not mentioned to me. I didn't ask because with my insurance, I don't have to pay anything to have an xray done. At the time of checkout, I was charged $100 for the xray. I asked the billing manager (Danny) about the price and the secretary immediately interrupted and said that the insurance didn't cover the xray. I didn't ask anymore questions since it was already after hours for the insurance company and if I were to call, I wouldn't get an answer anyway. The next business day, I called the insurance to inquire about this situation. They had mentioned to me that they never received a claim with an xray for the visit of that day (which they did receive a claim for). I then called the office and they told me to talk to Danny. I was transferred to his cell phone (from what I'm guessing) and I left him a voicemail. I made about 7 calls to this so called "Danny" over a week and received no answer. I told the secretary to transfer me to someone else that could help me and they transferred me to some billing center in which they said they had to ask "Danny" for approval to give me my money back after the insurance would be billed for it. Apparently, "Danny" denied my request and stayed with my $100. Mind you, my husband and I are both out of work (which they were aware of), but obviously didn't care enough for their patient. My family and myself have been going to Dr. Mones for years. It is a very comfortable and relaxing environment with many individual rooms and 2 waiting rooms with tv's. There are many services you can have done there without having to go to specialized clinics so it makes it much more convenient and time saving. Very Unsatisfied with this medical office. The treatment of the emploees in the front office is extremely unprofessional and careless, seems like they really don't need anymore patients. I was also charged a higher co-payment and that was after they confused me with a different person, since they didn't even ask questions to identify me. I can't say anything about the actual doctor since I've never had the chance to meet him, his PA takes care of everything. Would not recommend. I called to set up an appointment, verified they accepted my insurance and then once i arrived after filling out paper work they told me it would be over $100 to be seen today. Completely absurd. I have had the same insurance for over a year and never even been required a copay at ANY other doctor or dentist. The person at the desk told me have a good day and sent me away. After having several different doctors over the past 5 years in Miami I have finally found the one! I have been seeing Dr. Mones and Cindy his PA for the past 2 years and they are amazing. They are very thorough and care about how I am feeling. They have weekend, late night, and early morning hours and an appointment isn't required! The walk-in time is usually a bit longer but you still get the same great service every time. They may take extra time with others but they give the same attention to you and your illness/check-up. read more

After I do the blood test , they never call me to get the results . I called them after 15 day , they couldn't find it and the secretary told me I WAS THE ONE THAT SHOULD FIND IT . I've been a patient of Harris Mones since 2008 and loved it back when his was there and would see his patients. This week has been hell for me. I went to see the doctor and to start I was seen by the PA who was very nice and helpful but than in told that I will get my referral between 3 to 5 days in my email. I'm in pain right now and I need the referral now not in 3 days. A referral is just a paper. Why can't I get same day, I don't understand. It's time to get a more personalized Doctor. I do not recommend this place if you want answers and help. It used to be like that, but not anymore. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Mones. In three times they had been confused or lost the results of my medical tests, I was dying with a broken foot pain to make me some tests and left me waiting over an hour, a couple of nurses always give a bad deal and after being patient for more than two year decided not to return again, I do not recommend to anyone! read more

They tell you they take CIGNA but not that it's only for the doctor's fees. Any labs, tests, etc. go through another provider (another of his businesses) and you have to pay the full amount. When you're feeling sick and they ask you to sign a release form before any tests, it's easy to get confused. They don't make it clear that the form you're signing means the test isn't covered by your insurance. If you need speedy lab tests, they send you to the emergency room anyway because they aren't equipped to do them. Then, what you pay them is for naught because you have to pay the ER copay. read more

Dr. Mones is great and most importantly extremely accessible. Very quick to respond to questions/concerns via the phone which is virtually impossible to find here in Miami. I called on a Sunday morning - Dr. Mones took the call personally, addressed my concern and I went in to see him that same day. The overall experience was positive on all levels. Dr. Mones is a true professional. His staff is courteous and very friendly. The office is clean and modern. Would recommend Dr. Mones to anyone with general medical needs. Dr. Mones is 5 stars as a person and a doctor. I am a difficult/anxious patient and, in the six years that I've been going to him, he has always been kind, patient and informative. He is thorough and explains options. On a recent visit, he spent a full half an hour listening to me and discussing treatment options. He is extremely accessible - he gave me his cell phone number! Now, because he is so attentive, there is often a wait and a 9:00 am is really a 10:00 am appointment. However, long waits have been my experience at most medical offices in South Florida. my 23 daughter was suffering from extreme nausea in the early hours of saturday morning and I searched for urgent care sites online to avoid having to take her to an emergency room. I phoned Miami Urgent Care at SW 37th Ave. because the website states that they opened at 9am, the earliest time that I could find. I called, prior to the designated opening of office hours, did not even leave a message and within minutes Dr. Mones called me back to tell me to bring my daughter in at 9am promptly and he would examine her. EVERYONE in the office could not have been kinder, more efficient or more professional including Dr. Mones and his staff Manuel, Abraham and George. They recorded my daughter's medical history, examined her thoroughly, took a blood test and gave her a presciption and instructions when we left the office. Dr. Mones told us to phone him at anytime day or night if the symptoms continued. Sunday morning the nausea returned and once again my daughter was promptly reexamined... the results of her blood test were discussed with us and she also received an onsite pelvic exam. She was ultimately given an IV to treat her dehydration and sent home. Once again we were told to phone the doctor at any hour should her symptoms worsen. We were so impressed with the Dr. Mones and his wonderful staff that my daughter opted to make him her primary physician. I could not thank everyone enough for the first class care that my daughter (and her concerned mom) received. I feel compelled to write this review because I have never encountered anything like it, and I think people need to know so hopefully there might be a change. It's taken me about a month to gather my thoughts and what to say in this review, so here goes: I decided to go to Dr. Mones' office due to the fact that it's very conveniently located a block away from my home. The office itself is very nicely decorated and clean, and the staff is overall friendly. I went twice, the first time for my yearly checkup, which included getting routine bloodwork done and for an allergy test, and the following week to get and discuss the results of the aforementioned. They took me in quickly and a PA took my vitals but then made me wait over an hour in one of the rooms until finally the PA comes back. She gives me a regular cup for a urine sample (with no cover, which I found odd) and was told to go to the bathroom and bring it back. I felt a bit weird because normally either they give you a cup with a cover to put on or there is someone right outside to take the sample. It felt strange walking back to the room dodging other patients with an uncovered cup full of urine. Anyway, once that is out of the way, she proceeds to get me ready to take some blood. She has a hard time finding my vein, which I know happens, and after trying whichever way to get my vein to be visible, proceeds to exit the room and says she will get me some water. When she came back, she asked me to drink the water. I asked, "Drinking water will make my vein appear more visible?". She says,"Sometimes". I don't think you have to be a rocket scientist to realize that a small cup of water isn't going to cause any change in the dilation of a vein, much less in a few minutes. Anyway she finally drew the blood somehow, and finally I was out of there. The following week, I came in to see the results of the bloodwork, which included the allergy test. Once again, they quickly took me in, and had my vitals taken by a young man that was very polite. He asked if it was my first time in and I told him no, and that I was there for my results. He looked up my profile on the screen, and asked if I wanted a copy of the results, and I told him yes. He gave them to me, and told me to wait. I was hoping to see the doctor finally, when in comes a young woman who introduced herself as a PA, and asked if it was my first time there. I told her I was there to get and discuss my test results. Can't they tell when someone has been there before or not, especially when my profile and info are on the computer screen? Anyway I showed her the papers, she glanced over the results, and pointed out that my bilirubin was a bit high, and asked if that had ever happened before. I told her as a newborn, but that's something very common for babies. She said she didn't feel it was a cause for much concern, and that it could be Gilbert's disease, which is a deficiency in an enzyme that breaks down bilirubin. She asked me a couple of more questions, and then suggested to me that I could find out more info in the internet. As I found out later, high levels of bilirubin may be a sign of liver damage or disease. Wouldn't the normal thing to do is to do further studies to actually see what the cause is, just in case? I couldn't believe my ears. Then I proceeded to ask her about my allergy test which was on the same papers which she had already handed back to me. It showed I was allergic to several things I wasn't sure what they were, and asked for an explanation, and I felt I had to prod her for it since she was quickly glancing over everything. She stared at it and then finally decided they were types of fungi. She then proceeded to look them up in Wikepedia to find out more info about them. I couldn't restrain myself from asking if she didn't prefer to look up medical info on WebMD.com or Mayoclinic.com, being that their info might be much more accurate than an open source webpage. She acknowledged they were good websites, but that she preferred the order that Wikipedia displayed it's information. At this point I had heard enough. I feel that the doctor, who is supposed to be the expert here and went to medical school and has the experience to have seen quite a few test results, should be the one who talks to the patients and interprets their results and puts in their thoughts, and not a PA looking up things online or have to find out info on my own. Then what's the point of going in to get the results then? I left very dissatisfied in that aspect. The only thing I felt the PA correctly diagnosed was a mild case of bursitis I had in my left shoulder, which I had mentioned I had pain in. Other than that, I might as well have diagnosed myself based on the result on the paper. Needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

This place is a disaster, I went there 4 days ago for pap smear. They couldn't write me a mamogram order. I've been waiting and calling. nobody even cares. I believe they use intern students, so they can't write you any order. I never recommend such a terrible place for anyone. It's just time consuming. They charge you like a real doctor. read more

I visited this doctor's office back in Oct. 2012. Till this day, still getting THERE bills! I have even been threatened with being sent to collections, but here is the funny thing, my husband and I have no insurance and we paid in FULL on the day of service. It is like pulling teeth to get across to them. They also say the "manager" will take care of it, but honestly do they even have a manager? I have never received a phone call from a manager nor a staff member for that matter. Every time I call, I talk to 3 DIFFERENT persons and have to explain my situation over and over and over again. As routine, I am always referred to call the manager the next day or some other random day during the week and when I do, they are on a lunch break. Really? A lunch break @ 10 am? I have never meet a more incompetent and unprofessional medical staff in my life! On the other hand, Dr. Mones was a great doc! Very attentive and caring. Shouldn't a great doc have a great staff? I had a terrible experience. Their service sucks, you might as well not even worry about appointments because they will make you wait two and a half hours more. Then you'll get in the room and hear "oh you wont be out of here in 20 minuets. It'll be another hour or so. After i get what i need from this dr. I am not coming back. I will find another. The front desk ladies were very sweet and the doctors were nice. But the fact is when someone makes a appointment that is a reservation for that person. I wouldn't have made the appointment if i knew i was going to have to wait an extra two and a half hours. I was in a rush that day as well and they couldn't take two seconds to tell me my results. Horrible horrible place! Waited in 2 waiting rooms before i got to an actual room. To then wait another hour in an examination room. Went on 3 different accounts, staff not nice. Had to beg for my test results weeks later to be put on hold, and then sent a 6 word sentence to my email that i was ok. With no specifications on what i was tested for! Spent over $800 on 3 visits.
