A year later 2026, the new B gates have open to the right of TSA with an escalator taking you up like a stairway to heaven. What's upstairs? Two gates, restrooms, a large waiting area, and Amigos FAT restaurant with basic coffee offerings. What else was new was no more ticketing to enter paid overnight parking. I entered from the parking garage and I meandered around to find a spot. The parking garage was completely full, but I found a closer spot so we're good. When I came back from my trip I remembered not ever getting a ticket. So when I got in line, I noticed two huge screens are now installed at the toll booths. When I got to the booth, the attendant asked if I paid online. I didn't know this was an option. What I noticed on the huge screens was my total & a barcode. The attendant took my payment instead and confirmed how many days and hours I was parked. I asked how did she know that, she stated the system scans/tracks my license plate once I entered the parking lot. Fresno is moving with the times adapting this latest technology. No more tickets. Somehow it's more miserable inside than outside today -- and at least outside there's a breeze. I have never sweated this much just sitting in an airport. Fresno, you can do better. The excuse that "someone has to go on the roof to adjust the temperature" might be one of the weakest explanations I've ever heard. I'm not sure who thought anyone would actually believe that, but here we are. Maybe the next upgrade should be making the terminal comfortable enough for passengers to exist in it without needing a towel.

Small airport that puts you front and center into the action of the Central Coast…read more It was my first experience here and it's very hustle and bustle for such a small place, but I didn't feel rushed at all...maybe that's part of the feel. When we arrived we deplaned into the jetway and walked through the small waiting area to baggage claim. Similarly, up in our return, we checked our bags and walked to the same small waiting area with six gates. The team at American were super friendly. When the kiosks didn't work, they called us right up and checked our bags and got us our hard copy boarding passes. The vibe was very chill and calming. The waiting area has enough seats a small table charging station, and a small marketplace for snacks. I don't think you will be waiting here too long. If you are early, you might want to take advantage of the fresh air, the airport has a reasonable outdoor space to hangout, and there's a small bar out there. It was a positive experience and a great welcome (and farewell) to the Central Coast.

My experience is only flying in and picking up a rental car. Airports don't get much smaller than…read morethis. They are in the early stages of building a new terminal. Currently, you exit the plane by stairs/ramp. There isn't a jet bridge, so know that you face the elements upon arrival. Exiting the airport is easy. The car rental area is a one minute walk from the gates. Outside is ride share and parking lots. The car rental parking lot is close as well.

Lots of things...the rental car lot is 30 feet away, we were the only ones going through TSA, and everyone working here is on a chill time line. Also they have a "bar" that you order drinks, pay for water, chips all in one. I would give this airport 5 starts however...the hot dogs looked like they were rolling around for a while. Also where is the imitation cheese pump to throw on that err...hot dog? Also no charging stations unless I walk from gate 3 to 5, I'm tired to walk that 50 feet. :)

The most I've ever waited was 20 min to go through TSA. I do recommend still arriving early in case there are delays since they only have one TSA check in station. I really enjoy not having to drive or get a ride to LA or Fresno to catch a flight. Even if you can't fly direct to your final location, you can sometimes find some solid connections from nearby CA travel hubs like San Francisco & LAX, as well as other major airports such as Phoenix or Denver.

We were told that the Holiday Inn was the closest place to eat, but they were closed. There were no options close enough to walk to. We inquired about a crew car. One of the linemen decided that simply telling us they didn't have a crew car wasn't informative enough, so he explained that having a crew car placed the FBO in a position of incurring liability if we had an accident. I didn't mind the lecture nearly as much as I minded the tone. Stuck with the vending machines, I asked if they could break a $20. I was told they could not, which seems shortsighted to me if you are an FBO with travelers coming through and your only food option is the vending machines. The other pilot had a few singles and deposited them into the vending machine. It registered the credit, but did not dispense any items when the button was pushed. The credit disappeared. He tried again with the same results. When he asked for a refund at the desk, he was told they couldn't give him a refund. We left hungry, but didn't miss that there were Del Taco bags of food on the linemen's desk. If these guys worked half as hard at solving problems as they did at dodging them, this review would be completely different.

Had I depended on their previous TWO CONFIRMATIONS and not been triple checking everything I wouldn't have seen the emails and we would have missed the flight. The most wonderful thing about VIP TRANSPORTATION (which isn't provided at that other place) is a REAL LIVE PERSON ANSWERS THE PHONE! No long waits on hold listening to recording of how great they AREN'T. When I called, desperate now to find a ride, VIP answered the phone and spoke with me person to person and we worked out a time. Equally important, they said they would absolutely be there. You know what? They were. The driver arrived two minutes early and we made our flight easily. The pilot instructor pulled out my power (made the airplane engine go to idle at about 3,000 feet altitude) and asked me what I would do if there was a real emergency. Looking out of the windows, I easily spotted the airport and started to trim the aircraft for unpowered flight (etc.) but was surprised just how small the runway below was, both in width and length! 50 feet wide and 2300 feet in length.
