Best Harris Teeter in the area. It's clean, well organized, well stocked, and the employees are friendly and helpful. It's far better that the one in Pentagon City. I like it so much that I may start coming here more often even though it's further from home for me. There's also free underground parking. Note: the entire store is underground so you might think it would be depressing, but it's not at all. read more

I went shopping here last night, primarily to purchase items for my church's Thanksgiving Basket project from a prescribed list. I went after 9pm to avoid crowds, and from that perspective, it was perfect. I was shopping for non-perishables, and I did notice some items were nearly gone from the shelves, but I've noticed this in a lot of stores. What I did not realize (and I should have) was that only self-checkout is available after 10pm, and of course, my cart was overflowing! The manager quickly asked the person who I think was working customer service at the time to assist me. I think her name was Tamika, and she graciously checked out all of my groceries at self-checkout. She was a pro at this. She had a whole system as to how to make it work when there was so little counter space. She was so friendly and efficient, and managed to assist another customer at the same time she was checking out mine. All with a smile. I won't make this mistake again, but hats off to this Harris Teeter, and especially to Tamika! read more

We started going to this grocery store as it was on the same complex as our pediatrician. With a newborn baby, it was very convenient! We've been going for about three months now and I am officially never going again. Almost every week when we would go, there were countless items that were spoiled in the store. Just yesterday pretty much all of their avocados were spoiled and had bugs flying over them. The last time we went there about two weeks ago I had to ask someone to get more potatoes from the back because all of the bagged potatoes were spoiled and smelled terrible! The last straw was today when I cut open a watermelon I got yesterday and it was rotten on the inside. Ugh so disappointing. We will unfortunately not be returning. read more

I now live in between two Harris Teeters since they just recently opened this one in Potomac Yard. I've been to the Pentagon Row location a few times in the past but didn't like it. They specialize in healthy, gourmet type foods and I don't cook or eat healthy. The worst part is surface parking is never available and the underground garage isn't convenient. So when I got a coupon for $5 off $25 purchase at the new Potomac Yard location, my bf and I went - I'm never one to ignore a deal. We went Sunday morning during the Grand Opening Week. This Teeter is located on the ground floor of what appears to be a mixed use apartment/retail/office building in that huge monstrosity known as Potomac Landing. Side note: avoid Route One after Potomac Landing is officially open because traffic is going to be a nightmare (as if it isn't already with just Potomac Yard a few blocks down). This Teeter is not metro-accessible (the National Airport stop is in the vicinity but I highly doubt it's an easy walk) so park your car under the garage. The garage is well thought out - they have an entrance that splits into the resident side and a retail side specifically for the Teeter patrons. This was Sunday morning during the Grand Opening Week so there was plenty of parking. This will be great in winter/rain to have a covered garage that you can access from the entrance of the store. FYI - open 24 hours/day. The store was laid out in typical Teeter fashion so no surprise there. But there was sparkling new everything. Huge wine selection, lots of gourmet foods, fresh breads, great selection of prepared foods to go. I picked up a rotisserie chicken for $3.99 on sale from $12 and it was delish! I also discovered they make a small size of the Daisy sour cream. We would make tacos and get through about a third of the pint-size sour cream that the Giant stocks and now with the small size, it's perfect and no waste :) I am also addicted to Arizona brand Sweet Tea that you can find at no place but select mini-markets that sell the 23.5 ounce mega can for $0.99. I take that back, you can get them at the Shoppers next door in Potomac Yard but I hate Shoppers (that's a story for another day). Teeter stocks he gallon-sized Arizona Sweet Tea!!!! I thought I was dreaming - if I had tear ducts, a tear would have fallen down my cheek. Most grocery stores stock the Green Tea and the their Peach Tea but Arizona makes so many other flavors that places just don't want to stock. I scoured the store and only found two so hopefully that gives the hint to the inventory manager that Sweet Tea sells :) So I'm loving this Teeter! Also, the HT brand risotto is pretty freakin' good. I've only had the Parmesan but I have a box of portobello mushroom risotto waiting to be made. The staff was very friendly, they were at the top of their game. Asking how we were doing every 2 feet - frankly, it just got annoying. I doubt that the friendliness will last more than a few weeks but I don't care because they had Arizona Sweet Tea! I got another $5 off coupon yesterday so if they keep this up this will be the grocery store of my choice. No more crappy Giant down by Mt Vernon, crappy Shoppers or the crappy Teeter by Pentagon Row. Yay! read more

Once again, the 'Teet did not disappoint! I went in on 3/3/11, mid-day to replenish snacks and drinks for my desk drawer. I caught a TON of sale items and actually came away with two full reuseable bags worth of loot! Chips, cookies, fruit, juice, coffee creamer, you name it. I love the Teet. Return time and time again, more than I update the yelp. read more

Ok, I have to balance out the reviews here. I was so excited when I moved to the area. The Teeter would be my new grocery store. Underground parking (awesome when it's raining out), beautiful atmosphere/decor, on my way home, I just was too excited to go shopping there. The layout completely confused me, I was lost in 4 seconds. It felt like Walmart, but even more apparent, that they were trying to lead you in a manner that forced you to buy more stuff. It's just a zigzag of dizziness. But I was surrounded by gorgeous produce so who cared. Locally grown cabbage and cauliflower, that weighed more than a baby and was just as big. Who cared that they never had asparagus and I had to beg some guy who worked there to go into the back both times I wanted it, to grab me some? But when it looked like they only carried Purdue ground chicken and then didn't have any plain pork tenderloin in the middle of the week, I was getting angry. Then when they didn't even have shelf space for Italian flavored breadcrumbs (that's like a standard, right????), I was in shock. And then they didn't carry something else, I can't even remember it, because I repressed it in a fit of fury. Oh I remember now, shallots, and mushrooms. How is it possible that I am always the person who buys the last container of mushrooms. And yes, it's more expensive than other grocery stores. Except when it's raining and I need 1 thing that I'm pretty sure they'll have, or it's the middle of the night (I didn't realize this place was 24/7 until I just read a few other reviews), this place is dead to me. I found a Giant a little ways away and and much happier now. At least the HT has a wine guy on hand to ask questions. That's pretty cool. read more

The store is clean. The seafood section leaves much to be desired. We came in on our Anniversary on March 10, 2016 and ordered four "fresh" lobster tails. After taking them home and opening them, they reeked of ammonia. Steaming and seasoning them did not help, they were not fresh. It was awful. Someone could get really sick. Very clean and efficient grocery store. Join the club card for better prices. Curb side pickup for pre-orders is a god send for those with small children. Free covered parking is a definite plus. Staff is friendly in general, however the checkers are usually too busy with their own side conversations that have become increasingly annoying. read more

I knew the joy of having a Harris Teeter within pajama walking distance of my condo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember Harris Teeter grocery stores from childhood, when I would visit my grandparents in NC for the summers. The quality of the food is fantastic- especially the fresh fruit/veggies and store made ready to eat meals Stocked well with tons of international goodies, wine, beer and cheeses. The customer service is top notch - the cashiers always ask how are you, did you find everything OK and do you need help to your car The management is equally outstanding - I special orders some good and they called me when the products arrived Can't beat the hours - 24 - love it The pharmacy is also another added bonus. Double coupons everyday, Triple coupons about once a month The only area that needs some uplifting is the seafood department, it's decent but could be better selection wise. read more

A great renovated space. Harris Teeter is a great grocery store in general. This location is new and has great features. I would say they lack a little bit of selection as opposed to a stand alone store, but they make up for it in other areas (pizza, beer/wine, etc.). Garage parking is free, but tight. For the times I've visited it hasn't been too busy, and they have whatever last minute items I'm getting on my way home from work. A great addition to the area. read more

I love this store! Managers have routinely stocked my special orders, and I guess people like the products, because they have started carrying them full-time! There are usually lots of fresh samples and free sugar cookies on the way out, what's not to love?! Layout is strange, but who really cares once you know where everything is? I went in this grocery store twice while I was in Virginia. Each time was like a new experience. They had everything one could need. The selection of fresh fruit and vegetables was amazing. The sushi, soup/salad bar, etc., was excellent. And the best thing is that the store was clean. My only complaint is that they don't have this store in Louisiana. read more

This is our go-to HT and we love it. We just shopped there at 9:30 pm on a Friday night and there were many others doing the same thing and enjoying it at the same time! The store is always clean, well-stocked and organized. The produce is fresh for the most part except for cucumbers, which tend to look terrible. The bakery has fresh bread, the French Loaf is my favorite. I also like the sushi that is freshly made there. I never have any problems with parking in the underground garage and there are special parking spaces for those with children, which as a new mom I can definitely appreciate. The prices are a little on a high side, but I don't mind paying a little extra for a pleasant and hassle-free grocery shopping experience. read more

Love Harris Teeter! This store has sushi made with brown rice for those who are conscious of their whole grains! Their 100% whole wheat pasta is also edible and does NOT taste like cardboard, unlike many other generic brands, and their 100% whole wheat bread is very soft and very suitable for picky eaters. I usually only buy items that are on sale here, other than my pasta and bread, but if you sign up for the e-vic program you can get some pretty good deals. read more

UGH!!! i go to other Harris Teeters in the area and this one is HORRID. the service was so unprofessional, mean, and rude. I couldn't believe it. It was like i was doing them a favor by shopping there. they were barely awake and the guy trying to help me find products was creepy and weird. Plus, the store is so dark bc there are no windows...which really isnt an excuse bc they should just have good lighting designers to help this space out. I'll never go back. the parking is easy - thats why i gave it one star. but, if i could id give it zero stars - just bc of the customer service. read more

This Harris Teeter has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. I loved this store before it shut down for a year, but not that it has come back, it's bad. Specifically, the problem I have is that the produce is crap. Both times I've been there in the last few weeks, a lot of the produce has been wilted or worse; the lettuce has been gross; and the selection has been terrible. Maybe this is because I was there on a Sunday? Either way, no excuse. If something doesn't change, there'll be no reason for me to drive to Harris Teeter instead of going to my closer, terrible Giant. Please, Harris Teeter, please go back to the way you used to be where I could walk in any time of any day and have a great selection of super fresh produce. Great sushi bar at this Glebe Rd. location (below Eclipse Condominiums). Not as "fru fru" as as some other locations or other stores like Wegmans or Whole Foods but it's easy to navigate, has a great selection and employees provide excellent service! read more

Harris Teeter and I have a long love-hate relationship. Love the fact that is UNDERGROUND, awesome on rainy days. Great vegetable selection, fish and bakery. The hate part is the "to go" food. Thai for instance, all dishes are well prepared, flavorful but you never know how much fat/calories you are eating. The Salad Bar has a great selection, but I am not a fan of buffet. Pizzas are very good, my favorite is the greek pizza, I have ordered a whole pie to go several times under $12 and specials for $7.99 on Mondays!. The soups are soooo yuuuummmyyyy but, why ? Harris why is the sodium and fat content so high?. I can only stare at the food at Harris Teeter...or get some sushi and the sliced fruit or strawberries for lunch. On rainy days this place is great for your quick bite if you are not fat/calorie/sodium conscious. read more

Some have told me that it's more expensive but I am not complaining with all the BOGO free deals I've gotten, excellent customer service, cleanliness of store, variety of goods for both food and non-food, awesome selection of wines and beers, and did I already say how the customer service rocks! read more

I'm generally a fan of Harris Teeters, and this one is no exception, albeit, it's a little smaller and harder to navigate than most, with slightly longer lines. I'd drive a little out of my way to go to Pentagon Row in most situations, though. read more

i got there alot because of the location. Things are usually pretty stocked and customer service is good for most part. Only cons of this place is ice cream is usually melted and refrozen so its full of crystals but they will exchange it for u if thats the case. Biggest problem is the deli dept. Getting someones attention takes forever and even longer to get what u need. read more

The place is still "temporarily closed." The location was great for getting food stuffs for my office, at just a half mile or so walking trip away. I'm getting more dubious about the "temporary" with each passing week. I suspect they will not reopen. Meanwhile, i do my shopping at Shoppers just a little further south. Last Night, Nov 17th at 8 pm I went to Harris Teeter to get some groceries, while I was at the foot cream aisle, there was a black American guy came to me and talked to me strangely. I said I didn't know him and I asked him to seek for help from the staff. He kept talking nonsense and looked upset and he started to push my cart and hit my arm, I was literally screaming "help, somebody help me" and ran to the cashier, I passed pharmacists guy who just looked at me and not doing anything. I placed my self behind one of their cashiers and asked him to help me. Near this cashier, there were some other staffs too. None of them helped me, the cashier guy even said "i am out of here", so I ran outside Bed, Bath and Beyond where my husband was shopping and told him, we came back to report to the manager, and I said that I was screaming for help and no one helped and not even called police, and TONYA the manager in charge said that "my staffs were not trained to handle such condition" and she DID not even ask whether I am fine or said sorry for the assault happened at her store. She even said "why dint u call the police, they are outside". After standing there and surprised by what she said, another employee said that the black guy who assaulted me was actually trying to borrow scissor from the store before approaching me. Yet, I cant believe that no one helped me and even asked my condition. I think this place is crazy, not safe, not well trained and do not care about the customers! read more

This store is clean and well stocked. The selection is good, and I have never had a problem with the quality of the food. I have never seen the parking garage even close to full. My one complaint is that checkout can be glacially slow; one evening, I went during a busy time, and only one cashier was working. read more

Nicest staff at any store around. I mean really super, nice friendly staff. Parking is always available and you gotta love the hours. Recently, moved to Arlington. Initailly, enthusiastic to do shopping within walking-distance from home. Later, learned that the food is quality, expensive; however, overall shopping expeience is angsted and RUSHED fr parking to carting the isles. Shoppers need learn basic couresy; espcially when its crowded. Its somewhat more relaxed at GIANT, Washington Av, Arlington, VA, but that gets way too crowed as well. Now, I simply shop off hours, and vary my shopping pattern accordingly. read more

I love Harris Teeter. It's a clean store, fresh produce, good meat selection and friendly staff. However, since I've been shopping there (since it opened it opened in 2008), they have gotten pricey. Neighbors of our's have begun going to the Giant on Glebe so we are contemplating checking that store out instead. Otherwise, this is a great grocery store for fresh foods. read more

Great store. They've got excellent wine, produce, meat, cheese and deli sections. The bakery and cafe options are not much to speak of, but that just prevents me from buying a 500 calorie muffin when I visit! it's also not huge so it doesn't take an hour to get through. Parking in the covered garage is super easy too. read more
