As a vegan, I am a big fan of Wegmans thanks to their excellent selection of faux meats & cheeses, as well as beautiful produce, dry beans, and cruelty-free health & home products. Clean, intuitively laid out, and well stocked, I appreciate the interior environment as a pleasing place to shop. However a few weeks ago I was shopping there, after they reopened the main door for customer use. On that day I was followed through the store as well as the bathroom when I decided to use the rest room. In the moment I didn't quite realize what was happening however it became clear I was being profiled and followed through the store. I paid for my groceries and left The store however was so put off by the situation that I called the store manager and made my feelings known. He apologize but that doesn't change the situation. I will never shop here again and I have spent a lot of money why here over the years. Their new security efforts have alienated me and I won't spend another dollar at Giant. If Giant has such a theft issue that they want to treat current and long term customers badly, they should close the business. I have no reason to steal groceries and to be treated as such a person is an insult that no apology will correct.

But they do have sales and sale prices are good. If you have shopper card, there are discounts. The vegetables looked fresh. I picked up what I needed. They had a great selection of funny greeting cards, I picked up a couple. I didn't get bread because I would have had to take out a loan. Check out is easy and clerks were friendly. Parking is tight as there are a bunch of stores in the same strip mall. I did find fairly close parking.

The other issue was I asked two employees for galangal and neither spoke English so they got someone from the back who I asked and he took me to mangos. When I showed him the word "Galangal" on my phone, he said no. After trying the HMart down the street and comparing it to how disorganized, messy, cramped, and the poor service here, I'm done with this place.

The previous store I went to (a couple miles down the road) was a mess, it was disorganized and didn't have what I was looking for (service was poor too). Upon entering the first thing I noticed was how clean and organized this grocery store was. I quickly found what I was looking for (galangal) as well as some other items I was seeking. Checking out was easy and the cashier was also much more friendly than the previous place too. This will be my go to from now on.
