This Harris Teeter grocery store is a little quieter than the stores on Folly Rd. which get busy with folks on their way to the beach. It is on the smaller side for grocery stores, but carries everything you need. This location has a Starbucks inside but no seating area, and some of the departments (dairy, beer/wine) are smaller than other locations The self checkout area is easy to use, and the VIC card program saves you money and lets you earn Fuel Points to save on gas. I came here recently to pick up a few items for an event and really appreciated not having to make the trek to Folly Road and deal with the summer traffic. read more

I have a good experiences here with pick up orders, customer service and them honoring their prices even if the tag is wrong. Which is the case a LOT, so I've learned to really read every tag. But in the few cases that I've missed an incorrect tag, they have honored it. As I believe, they should. They are typically well stocked and the cashiers are usually very pleasant. read more

This is the closest grocery store to us so my son picked up fried chicken for lunch. It was in a cardboard bucket with a plastic lid while extremely hot causing it to sweat making the crust soggy. The picture below is what made the purchase unacceptable. read more

Super friendly people work here, especially the tall guy who always thanks me for shopping at HT. People at the registers are super nice too. Really great job hiring! Also, I've been scanning grocery's with the Yuka app and I find HT products to be healthier than most. Love the chocolate covered peanuts and the natural ice cream, both with no additives. The Harris Teeter on Harbor View Road in James Island is a great grocery store. They have consistently provided a high level of grocery services for a number of years and I have been impressed every time I have been in here. Whether I am in for a quick grocery run or shopping a longer time for an entire week this Harris Teeter works well for either purpose. I can find exactly what I need because the store is so well organized and all of the items are well stocked even when it is busy and there is a good sale going on. The staff here is very friendly and cool and will stop what they are doing to provide you with assistance and they are also quick with the checkout process which I really appreciate. read more

I'm really back and forth on this Teeter location- landing at a solid 3 stars. This is my go-to spot in the summer time when the other HTs on the island are packed. This one is just off the main drag enough that it doesn't get too awful during the warmer months! This is a smaller location than the others around Charleston. They still have a decent selection, but I often find myself missing out on something I'm looking for, whereas I always find everything (and more, honestly) at the Folly Rd Teeters. This spot does have a little Starbucks kiosk up front, which is a plus. I often need a little extra caffeine to grocery shop, so I'll hit them up for a coffee first. The bakery does not have the best selection readily available, though of course you can order anything! Just a bummer- I've come here a few times with the thought of snagging some treats to bring somewhere, but have been disappointed with what's available. My biggest gripe with this location is the often weird experience at the checkout line. 9 times out of 10, I get a younger kid who makes weird comments, is chatting with someone/ignoring me completely, or is staring at their phone. I don't ask for much, but I don't want the last part of my shopping experience to end on a bad note. To be fair, when I have a great cashier, they really are wonderful, but I rarely get the good ones. Bonus point- the registers here are much easier to navigate than the newer layouts! read more

This place is starting to work better for me. The people seem to be getting better at working with you. The manager has helped me out several times recently. The deli was confused with some stuff I was doing but the manager understood completely and stepped in and helped out. Was looking for Sake and could not find and a manager stepped in and found it. The store's lower employees seem to be getting better but really the management is what has gotten me to bring up their rating from 3 to 4 stars and I hope that they can soon get me to a 5 with the other employees stepping up to the plate which I think can happen with good management so they are going in the right direction. read more

I am a Harris Teeter fan, but the service from Produce to Management is spotty at best. I will admit the butcher is pretty consistent, but in a recent trip looking for ground beef, most packages expired either that day to 2 days prior. When I brought this up with management they were pretty flippant and suggested I look for meat that's not already expired. I already did that (since I was looking for meat to cook on July 4th on the 2nd), of course I'm now a bit suspect of the quality control. My wife refuses refuses to shop here because of the produce quality and piss poor attitude of many employees. I do love their florist and the morning crew, other than that, I'm going to Publix. read more

I actually don't mind this Harris teeter. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because I wish their were more organic/local options. Possibly more of a variety in the produce section. read more

They still use the old recipes from piggly wiggly and they have the best cupcakes in Charleston in my opinion. Cupcake pales in comparison. Pretty good Harris Teeter this was another Piggly Wiggly remodel what Harris Teeter to get over and they did a pretty good job with making the place a little bit nicer and more modern if you have a nice big salad bar here and a Starbucks coffee station and they have definitely added some better items to the shells however they never put in the self checkout which the place really needs because it can be really slow checking out of the place when it's busy read more

This has been a great grocery store for my family and I. Location is great for us being right across the street. They always have cookies up front for my little guys and the ladies that work there have been very sweet to my wife and kids consistently. They even paid for flowers and balloons for my wife recently for the birth of our second son. It's been a pleasure shopping here and we will be customers for life! read more
