An A-OK Harris Teeter, this one has so much of the stuff that I've seen in other Teeters - a large produce section that is nicely laid out, a large deli which has a fresh sushi bunker, a cheese area, a large meat and fish department where they will prepare orders and a good selection of groceries and frozen items. Prices are a little on the high side, but you're paying for a more pleasant shopping experience than you would be getting at one of the *Mart shops. Staff is super friendly. This spot is in a shopping center. There is plenty of parking. They have a wide variety of grocery items. Each Harris teeter store is a bit different I am learning. Apparently the prices are higher depending on the location and this is one of those stores. If you drive down the street to another one in the city the prices change for some items. The customer service is pretty consistent and the cleanliness is the same. I have difficulty with the false advertisement. View my photo. Great location. The grocery selection is somewhat smaller than the other larger stores but still has everything you need. Staff are extremely friendly and polite though it can get busy at peak times. Easy parking in lot out front, drive through grocery collection, RedBox location, terrific florist on-site, and great butcher/fresh fish selection. What makes this location five stars and outstanding is the pharmacy. The pharmacists are incredible. They're unbelievably helpful, accommodating and welcoming and give you a real feel of a local small pharmacy. read more

We went shopping today at this Blakeney store. This is where we have shopped for at least 13 years and we do all of our prescription business there as well. There were multiple customers who were not wearing masks. I brought this to the attention of the assistant store manager , Michael, and not only did he not social distance from me, he told me that he was not obligated to enforce the state mandate. There were two customers without masks who passed by while I was speaking with him. He did nothing to offer them masks or to address the state mandate. It is my understanding that if a store does not comply with the mandate, they can be cited. Supposedly, if a customer does not comply, he or she can be cited for trespassing. So, when I was dismissed by Michael, I called the corporate office. I explained everything to the lady who answered the phone and she said that the Harris Teeter stores would not police people not wearing masks. She said that they can't be sure of people who might be carrying guns and therefore they will not put their employees at risk by asking them to enforce the mandate. I tried to explain that they were putting their employees at greater risk by not requiring masks. When I told her that, she hung up on me. This occurred on Monday June 29 around 4:30 pm. / Clearly, none of this was appropriate. We will take our business to Publix and Trader Joes. While I hate losing our treasured relationships with the pharmacists in this store, we will not subject ourselves to such ill regard. I plan to report this to the Mecklenburg Public Health Department and I may also write to the Governor's office in Raleigh. read more

This HT located in the Blakeney shopping center is not the closest one to where I work or live, but from time-to-time I stop in here when I am on the way to visit friends. It seems to be a little smaller footprint than the store at Stonecrest. However, it is nice and has a pretty good selection of food & beverages. Overall I don't rate this store the highest in the area because of parking. Getting in & out of the shopping center always seems to be a bit of a hassel. read more

Nice little neighborhood Harris Teeter with the usual friendly service, however more expansive choices are avalable within a 5 minute drive in both directions. Still, you can expect the same Harris Teeter service, quality and cleanliness at this well managed location as with its larger siblings. read more

The produce is OK but ridiculously expensive. Haas avocados? $3? Please. If you feel compelled to have a deli, please staff it as if you want it to succeed. Waiting 15 minutes while one woebegone employee slowly fills orders is ridiculous. Usually there are 2-3 others who are too busy to help customers. Managers, why do you look at me incredulously when I explain that I don't purchase your cheese because it is priced higher than both Publix and The Fresh Market? I'm not making it up. Your cheese is priced stupidly. Managers, staff someone to assist the self-checkout stand AND MAKE THEM STAY THERE. I rarely use self-check out because there is almost always an error and sure enough, I spend time tracking down the person who is supposed to be staffed there. Managers, it's time to upgrade the 1970s computers running the self-checkout registers. I was a cashier at a grocery in high school and I could manually ring groceries up more quickly than your automated systems. No, I am not exaggerating. Plus, I've been to a number of other stores where the self-checkout systems work 5-10 times as quickly--basically as quickly as you can scan and place in a bag. Managers, lastly, when I self scan I know your registers need several seconds to recognize that the item has been "placed in the bagging area". Apparently your servers are on Pluto. But after I've placed an item in the bagging area the system gets confused between whether it's there or not. Really? It's 2019. Come on. read more

I got sick the other day eating from the salad bar at Harris Teeter on Rea Rd. I also don't know why I end up paying $7-8 for a few pieces of fruit. The Clam Chowder is so off and on (between just right, and having too much like watery paprika/butter/cream), but this particular day-- the pasta salad made me ill. I think it'd been sitting there for too long, and the oxidized vinegar just made it RANK. A tiny portion of pasta salad + soup = $12. Never ever again. A total rip-off! read more

This is an extremely busy Harris Teeter and they still keep it organized and clean. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. They have a lot of workers always staffed to make sure everything is kept moving smoothly. They have a huge selection of wine and a wine consultant to help you make a great selection that fits your budget. read more

Every time I come to this Harris Teeter there is a problem. Today the lady was telling me my phone number for my Vic card is wrong. I shop at Harris Teeter everyday and I always give the only number I have. I find the lack of good customer service embarrassing. From now on if I have to go to Harris Teeter, I'm going to drive the extra distance and head to the one on Providence near 485. They are so nice over there and always willing to make your customer experience great. Wish all the Harris Teeters were the same. read more

I've always been treated well, but none of the employees (at any Harris Teeter, for that matter) seem to go out of their way for you. From now on, I'm nicknaming the store "The Dirty Harry T" because I saw 2 disgusting things today. The 1st involved a team member in produce picking broccoli up off the floor (where your feet and dirty rugs go) and placing it back into the bin to be sold. It was beyond the 5-second rule and she didn't even dust it off. Murder most foul! I literally almost vomited. She also couldn't help me find plantains, but that was beside the point. All of this happened around 10:48 AM today - check your security cams HT. Also, someone working on the fresh sushi sneezed on his gloved hands and went right back to work without changing gloves or anything. Gross! Sushi with a side of random virus. Ack! This is not my usual HT but I was in the area and needed a few things before the forecasted winter storms. I'm hoping that I don't *have* to go back. Also, I am willing to admit that peak cold and flu season, ameatur grocery shoppers (teens hanging out and not buying anything), and mid-day restocking for the store probably contributed to the less-than-desirable conditions. read more

Bitterly disappointed in the Produce Department! I have had to return rotten, moldy fruit to this store on two separate occasions. Have been avoiding this market for regular shopping trips and shopping at the Super Walmart in Lancaster, SC instead. On occasion, I will run in for convenience and purchase the bare minimum due to their outrageous mark-ups on merchandise. (Progresso Soups - $2.58 a can vs. $1.59 a can @ Walmart). On Monday, I purchased four "locally grown" peaches that my daughter begged me for. Brought them home and went to cut them up the next day to find they were covered in mold, split and rotting....at $1.99 a pound, this is unacceptable. Harris Teeter is a local company headquartered in Matthews, NC. It's obvious they are trying to become a niche market like Wegmans and distinguish themselves from the Bi-Lo's and Food Lions that dominate the South. They miss the mark horribly. Offering a salad bar and an Asian bar while fruit flies are circling your potato and onion bins is counterproductive. No rational person should overpay for basic groceries for the cachet of having an Artisan Bread kiosk which is why the majority of my shopping will be done at the Super Walmart where the produce is of higher quality, more abundant and reasonably priced. Harris Teeter and their clientele may be easier on the eye than at the local Walmart, but it is definitely more harsh on the wallet. read more
