The rotiserrie chicken wrap seemed to be the almost identical to the chicken cesar wrap so I ended-up getting thatnone. I did discover a pretty large chicken bone, so be careful when you bite ibto these wraps. It tasted pretry good and it was a well deserved late lunch. This is certainly a nice store. It fulfills the high end requirements, of the city of Falls Church. Parking is a cinch, and the escalator is kind of a novelty. Definitely different than a lot of grocery stores. It's very clean, and much appreciation to the employees. Wonderful customer service. They have an amazing selection of fruits and vegetables. Yet the prices for the most part, aren't competitive priced as I'd like. Am sure most in the area, are quite comfortable and not concerned. Do they have an occasional awesome sale? This is a pretty nice Harris Teeter. It feels spacious despite being tucked into the heart of Falls Church City. There is a parking garage underneath that tends to have plenty of space at off hours. Street parking is available, although more limited. Overall, it is super convenient if you're in Falls Church and need to grab groceries! This store has a good selection of staples plus some more high-end selections, like American wagyu beef and dry-aged beef. There is also a wine bar and a Starbucks inside. Apple Pay! Was able to use Apple Pay at the self checkout this morning for the first time ever in a Harris Teeter's. My partner saw a sign posted at checkout this week making the announcement. Glad to see the option. I had been using the Harris Teeter app and their Mobile Pay option but it requires adding my credit card to their app and I'd rather having my credit card stored in fewer places if possible. Store is always clean and the open design gives the impression of enough space compared to some other stores in the area that feel like they are trying to cram as much as possible into the store. Parking is convenient underneath the store. Ordering ahead for deli pickup always works (compared to another local grocery store where it never works). Employees are friendly and professional. Love having a Starbucks available in store. I had been preferring my other local grocery store because they took Apple Pay but Harris Teeter is more convenient in terms of walking and now with Apple Pay will become my default choice. read more

I'm gonna flat out just say it. This HT SUCKS!!! I've never had a pleasant experience shopping here. I only visit this location on days where I'm doing other shopping in the area. The employees ignore you to talk amongst themselves. Nobody asks you if you need help with something. I once spent 10 minutes at the self checkout, waiting for somebody to help me. I had to get the manager. Manager had to use the intercom twice. Today's visit though, I went to the sub shop to use my e-Vic special to get a sandwich at a discounted price. I waited at the sub shop area 10 minutes. Finally I gave up. I went to pay. Then went to the customer service area to get a rain check. I showed the evic special to the employee who said "we don't have that today, we have the pizza". And she went on to ask to see the date. I enlarged it for her. Then she scrolls up and down on my phone. Maybe she can't read, and she is embarrassed. But she told me they don't have it. I told her that normally you do have it. Because there are two signs for it. One on the bottom, one on the top. A big red sign. "New Chicken Sandwich". She again tells me they don't have it. So I told her yes, this is why I want the rain check. So she says hold on let me go see. So she brings another employee from the deli area over. They're both arguing with me about not having it. So now I say, "yes. This is the reason I'm asking for a rain check" . The deli employee says "we don't have it, and it's $5.00 not $3.97"... i then ask her "do you know what an evic special is?" She says "yes". I explain to her... this is when something is on sale. All I'm asking is for a raincheck"... she continues to argue with me... so I say, "you know what, all I wanted was a rain check. This is wasting too much time. I never have an issue at any other location but this one." Finally the original employee agrees to write me a raincheck. In total, it took no less than ten minutes to get that done. What the hell is wrong with these people? This is not a very difficult concept. read more

I was really impressed by all of the people propped up at the wine bar, enjoying life and connecting with the community. Unfortunately I don't have free time so I had to keep on rolling my cart to the frozen food aisle where I saw a plethora of all of my favorite goodies including gluten free Brazilian cheese bread, which made for a great little snack for a friend date I had later that night. Their pharmacy is the pits. No privacy. Socially awkward pharmacists who still wear masks. It's not a political thing, it's being silly in 2024. They'll discuss your medical condition out loud while other customers are behind you, creating an embarrassing scene. The counter setup appears like a dam or blockade wall shutting you out while nearly completely hiding the personnel so that you only see their heads. Really strange vibe. And they'll forget to order a prescription and blame it on their supplier, which perhaps could be true, but when you check several industry monitoring sites that report current shortages, like the FDA or ASHP, your drug is not listed. So is it a bad supplier or bad HT pharmacists? Why wonder, just find another pharmacy. read more

They can't be bothered helping customers navigate the huge store or assisting customers in self-checkouts. She was on her phone as I greeted her and asked her a question. All all-around neighborhood grocery store that's clean and fresh with a great selection. Their seafood and fresh meat section has a great variety with even their own fry-aged meat. For a quick pick up of their pre-made food, they have a hot/cold food bar, pizza station, deli, and sushi station. Prices are a little higher than the average, but part of their rewards program you will find some super deals. We just bought several trays from the deli for a gathering after my 95 1/2 y.o. father passed on. We did the hero sandwich platter, and requested typical ham, turkey, and roast beef sandwiches. However, many sandwiches got deep-sixed because people thought they were grabbing a turkey sandwich for instance but found ham and roast beef on it. And vice versa. We believeved the platter was a variety! It said your choice of meats and breads. I didn't know we had to specify that no ham was to be on the roast beef sandwiches or no turkey was to be on the ham sandwiches, etc. Apparently we both failed to ask how the sandwiches were to be prepared. I thought the platter was going to be a "choice" of sandwiches!!! That was our main and people didn't get to eat like we'd hoped. I love this Harris Teeter! It's convenient to my location and they have just about everything you could want in a grocery store. What I really like is their excellent selection of produce. It's hard to find good produce in a grocery store around here. They've also got great selections of fresh meat and seafood and a large bakery. Throughout the rest of the store I've found a large selection of regular and specialty groceries. The Harris Teeter brand is available for most common items and everything I've tried has turned out to be pretty good. The parking garage is not worse than any other parking garage in the DMV, it's tight and it can be a little frustrating during busy times. Rude and unhelpful self-checkout floaters. Phone number has never worked for checkout/coupons, so have always been using e-version of VIC customer card, which worked well every time. One rainy afternoon, with the store nearly empty, a floater decides to YELL at my teen son who was using e-card at checkout, saying that he MUST use phone number. I was right there and explained we have always used e-card without issues at Falls Church store, specifically because the phone number has never worked, but he continued raising his voice and staring with a glassy look, as if on some substance. So we scanned the e-card with a hand-held device, and sure enough -- no problem, it worked like it's supposed to. The floater moved to another station and started badmouthing out loud with an idling fellow floater and smirking at us. I pointed out that it was hardly a standard of care, and he blurted out with a threatening look, while playing with a fidgeting device -- "I don't care!" People need to start valuing their jobs, and develop the concept of civility and customer care! read more

I ordered a 1/2 sheetcake and cupcakes, along with a shrimp tray and caprese trays for a bridal shower. The shrimp and caprese were fantastic and looked lovely. The cake was absolutely gorgeous. The flowers on the top were a work of art, and the cupcakes didn't disappoint either. The staff were incredible, and the baker even helped me get the cake to the car without wrecking it. I ordered the Prime Roast with the Butcher Shop in Harris Teeter on Broad Street, Falls Church for Christmas Day Dinner. Brad the Butcher Shop Manager didn't disappoint, when he said that HT's butcher always have the best cut of meat for their customers. It was a beautiful piece of meat (we happily consumed it), so tender and juicy, that cooked to satisfy all of the well done, medium rare and rare demands. When I got home from the Harrison Teeter store, in Falls Church, I discovered not all of my items have been bagged at the cashiers, yet, appeared on my receipt. This may be a problem with cashiers ringing up peoples items, but not putting them in the bags, but taking them home to feed their own families be careful. Be careful going here you watch the cashiers make sure they put all your stuff in the bags after they ring it up. read more

I shop here quite a bit because it's close and convenient. But what I really think when I walk in is....barf. The store "presents" well at the entry: it looks high(er)-end, what with their little cheese and bread stations, and hot food bars. But the quality of the produce and refrigerated goods is *really bad*. Bugs fly all over the produce, even in the winter time. It smells vaguely of overripe fruit (sickly sweet), and a lot of the greens just aren't as fresh (unwilted) as I would expect - especially for those very high prices. The quality is more reminiscent of a discount outdoor market, selling seconds before they become farm fodder. And the floor is sticky more often than not. The deli and meat counters are nice (and cheese/bread/hot food station), the service is friendly, helpful and efficient. They put a little more attention to detail here, and it's the best part of this store. The dairy section is GROSS. It SMELLS like SOUR MILK. WTF?! Aren't they checking and rotating stock, and CLEANING the store? I've never experienced this anywhere else. I shop here because it's convenient, but I've learned to buy half-gallon (or less) at a time because, regardless of date, it will last about 4-6 days then go sour. I've checked my fridge - it's extremely cold - 38F - and the lower section will freeze produce if I'm not careful. I also had to learn to definitely check expiration dates - If it's less than a week out, forget it. The milk is already cantankerous and likely chunkifying itself right in the store (hence the aroma). Eggs - don't trust 'em. Bought the higher-end brand, checked the expiration date to get what I thought would be the "freshest". Went home and wanted to hard-boil half the dozen -- they all float and bob in the water (indication of outgassing = stale eggs). Shelling them about killed them after boiling. While the meat, deli and specialty counters all seem to be staffed with nice, hard-working peeps, the checkout cashiers aren't similarly motivated. They seem deliberately slow and slightly resentful of my presence. I'm not sure if they don't like me (I am nice and polite and haven't complained), or if they treat everyone with the same disdain because they have to actually do some work. Yeah, well hell, I'll keep going here - probably be here today. But that's because anywhere else requires getting the car out and driving, and traffic here is as atrocious as Harris Teeter's dairy section. Guess I have to pick my poison and or learn to shop at the grocery when I already have to drive somewhere. ++++++ Good lord, was just at HT's again (January 3). Was thinking of picking up a cake, saw a nice Velvet cake, took it out of the fridge. Was looking at the price and noticed its "sell by" date: Dec 25, 2017. Notified the bakery. Moving the Monday pizza special from ending at 8 to 7 was bitter enough, but when the she is more concerned with ending her shift than serving others its very disappointing. We showed up around 6:55 and yes I understand it's close to 7, but we have 9-5 jobs and work our shifts too, ones that don't let us get there earlier than we'd like. So when we asked "are you still making pizzas" and she guilt-tripped is with a "uhh, I can..." it was clear that she doesn't care about her job. And now we're bummed we didn't get pizza. This is a huge grocery store! Especially for one located smack-dab in the middle of The Little City (on the bottom level of the West Broad apartment complex). They have a large hot-foods/restaurant-y section (reminiscent of Whole Foods) in the middle, with produce, bakery, and prepared foods on one side and then the shelved, refrigerator, and freezer sections on the other. It's actually quite a trek to make your way through the entire store, haha! Produce, meats, etc. is great, selection of boxed and packaged goods is all right, and convenience items is a little lacking (but I guess you can always just cross the street and go to CVS, lol.) I've never had an issue with supply or restocking, but there have been times when the line to checkout is really long. I highly recommend making use of the self-checkout when possible. It's nice that there's a HT so close by, especially for any late- or middle-of-the-night-grocery emergencies that might crop up (since they are open 24 hours!) Parking can get a little congested but I've never had an issue finding a spot in the garage underneath. read more

The store is HUGE and it's a Harris Teeter. On balance, it will succeed. However, right now there are some kinks they have to work out and some that may only get kinkier. I stopped in the other day to pick up a bucket of their fried chicken. With a few side dishes (also available in HT) it has always made a tasty and not too unhealthy meal. Not so, this time. When I got home, I discovered that most of the pieces were covered with blobs of raw batter where there should have been deep-fried tastiness. In addition, those pieces didn't even appear to have been fully cooked. Thanks to their guarantee, I was able to get my money back for the chicken. However, it meant having to make a dinner that I thought was taken care of and spend the time going to the store to collect my refund. I figure they'll eventually figure out how to fry chicken properly and this won't affect others for very long. The problem that is likely to stick with us is their parking garage. It seems designed properly, with generous spaces and wide lanes. However, the two times I've been there were a confusing nightmare, with cars moving in every direction and large concrete posts standing in unexpected places. Maybe it's just me but I think there is something weirdly disorienting (and also possibly disorientingly weird) about it. I'm not saying you shouldn't go there. You should and I will again. I've tried so hard to love this store, but I just can't. In fact, I've given up on it and have moved on to other, less convenient, grocery stores. I started coming here the first week it opened in 2016. Since then, there has rarely been a visit where the store is not out of at least one item that I need - which sometimes renders the trip wasted if it's an item I'm planning my meals around. In addition to the poor supply chain management at this location, the store managers need a serious adjustment. The initial management at this store was great - kind, courteous, understanding, etc. More recently, the management is less engaged and more defensive when responding to customer concerns. For example, this week I wanted to voice my concerns about the lack of items on the shelf and even had a picture of a nearly-empty produce shelf. I waited at the manager counter for a few minutes while one manager stood at the end and seemed to be taking a food order for other people through his ear piece and didn't bother to assist me. When another manager finally came around (Branden), he took the approach of "not my problem" and took no ownership of the issue. He even started to have a defensive comment about the produce shelf picture I shared, before another manager stepped over and told him to leave it alone and just say thanks for the feedback. I've never felt so disregarded by management and this encounter has solidified my vow to not return to this Harris Teeter, and maybe even any other Harris Teeter. read more

This store just opened last week and as expected, everything is shiny and new. Produce looked very fresh, and store was clean and well-stocked. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Inside there is a Starbucks café, wine bar, and pizza bar. We ordered a freshly-made large deluxe pizza ($11.99) to take home and it was really quite good, on par with delivery. Even though in the past I haven't shopped much at Harris Teeter because I perceived it as being pricier, there are definitely some terrific sales to be had. A one-gallon jug of organic milk was only $4.98. We also forgot to bring our $10-off coupon with us, and the cashier told us we merely need to return with our receipt and the coupon, and it will be credited to us. This is a large grocery store especially considering that is in the center of Falls Church. There's an underground parking lot. The store has a bit of an odd shape; it is L-shaped. There is an extensive selection of products. I've been a fan of HT for many years. We first encountered HT when vacationing in South Carolina. We were glad to see them expand into the DC area but haven't used them much since previously none of their locations were convenient. This store has a bakery, deli, and meat counters. They offer prepared meals and sandwiches. They also have an extensive beer and wine selection and tasting bar where they serve wine and draft beer. I had a grilled sandwich and ate it a table by the beer with a flight of beer. I'll be back. read more
