ART, as I understand it, involves a teamwork approach where the muscle is worked on by Brian while I assist by flexing it in specific ways. This technique works well for my body and is one I've come to rely on personally, when trying to manage muscle tension on my own at home. Zero-Balancing was new to me, focusing on the relationship between different muscle groups to ensure a harmonious balance, for example working on tension in the calf while also checking the hamstring. Brian's ability to apply deep, precise pressure with just his hands is somewhat unique as most other therapists might use tools or elbows when their hand-strength isn't enough. This gives him a level of control and sensitivity that has made a difference in my treatments, and is especially noticeable when he is doing Zero-Balancing. The pain spread down my spine and into my ribcage until I couldn't sleep, couldn't move without crying, and couldn't even take a full breath. I was at the point of desperation. From the very beginning, Matt showed extraordinary care. He offered to extend my appointment by an additional half hour, even though he could have easily taken a lunch break. That simple gesture told me everything about his dedication to helping his patients. He didn't just place needles and walk away -- he began with skilled acupressure, using his hands to release and reset tension before transitioning into acupuncture. His approach was thorough, thoughtful, and clearly based on deep knowledge of the body. What impressed me even more was how detailed and holistic he was in his intake. He took careful notes, asked questions that went beyond surface-level pain, and even checked in about possible emotional factors. That meant a lot to me, because in my own work I know how often emotional pain manifests physically. To have a practitioner who not only recognizes that but makes space for it was truly refreshing and healing in itself. And then -- the results. By the end of the session, I could breathe again. For the first time in days, I felt my ribcage expand without pain. He also taped me with strong KT tape to support my healing in the days that followed, and each day I continued to improve. The shift was immediate, but it also lasted, which says everything about the effectiveness of his skill. Matt is not only kind and compassionate, but he has the kind of presence and bedside manner you'd hope for in the very best doctors. He's incredibly well-educated and generous with his knowledge, happily answering every question I had about his work and his field. You can feel his passion for this medicine in every word and every touch. I cannot recommend Matt highly enough. To tell the truth, I'm actually not a fan of massages. I personally haven't had the greatest…read moremassage experiences in the past- they were either too painful or the massage therapist doesn't listen and works on an area where I have asked them to avoid before the session.   With Matt though, I'm happy to say that I didn't have such issues! Matt is actually a rock-climber, so I expected him to have very rough, hard hands, but that was not the case. He also remembered to avoid my calves where I had some inflammation that I did not want aggravated. I would say my favorite part about the experience was that Matt was very open to communication. I could tell him what I needed and he would be attentive. In general, Matt is simply a very chill guy and is very down to earth. Super easy to chat to. Matt just opened this current office location, and although the space is quite small, I found it to be quite cozy and welcoming. Matt is very professional and even offered to show me some stretches after our session that could help me out. I've been doing a lot of driving (I just took a road-trip across the US and back) and I also am also a rock-climber, so my hamstrings and wrists are quite stiff. Matt was able to recommend a couple stretches for me to do on a regular basis to deal specifically with those issues. I would definitely recommend Matt if you're in need of a massage therapist. In my opinion, finding the right therapist is not easy, and I don't think any therapist is the right fit for everyone, but I think it's definitely worth it to check him out and see if you would be the right fit for each other.  Oh, I almost forgot one more thing- He mentioned he offered topical CBD massages.
