I went to Harrods creek tavern this past weekend and it was sooo good! My boyfriend and I were canoeing and stumbled upon this restaurant. It's a bar with a very comforting southern vibe. The workers were saying hi to us while we were walking in and our server, the blonde one, was super sweet. We got the chicken tenders and I don't remember what my bf got but it was soooo good. I would 100% come here again and if I could give more stars I would. Also I saw a Trinity High School sticker on something in the kitchen so yeahhh Go Rocks! read more

If anything, Harrod's Creek Tavern just gets better with time. From the moment you walk through the door you're greeted with a hello. If you've there more than once, you'll probably be greeted by name. The service couldn't be better or more friendly. My friend needed some company for lunch and I willingly tagged along. I just ordered a soft drink while he chowed down a bowl of chili and a grilled cheese sandwich and washed it down with a couple of frosty draft beers. The server still took the time to refill my drink even though I hadn't ordered any food. Harrod's has earned a loyal clientele by providing great food, exceptional service and extremely fair pricing. We were in LOU visiting friends, and wanted to have a few beers for Friday Happy Hour. So we drove down the road to Harrods Creek Tavern. Their small lot was almost full, and a nice crowd inside. A mixed crowd and a good feel. The star of the show was Amy, the bartender. Handled everything with aplomb, and even singing along with the music. Seemed to be a lot of regulars, but a friendly, welcoming scene. Decent size bar and some varied seating inside. A small outdoor deck overlooking the creek. Didn't have any food, but a decent number of taps (draft beer drinkers) and a full bar. Will definitely be going back when we're in town, especially if Amy is behind the bar! Way fun. read more

So I'm on my way home from grabbing my son from school you know college kids are always hungry bottomless pit. We pass this place on River Road all the time going home and it's called Harrod's CreekTavern. Is hidden away right off the river, which is very beautiful. It has a docking port and also seating down near the dock. The inside is very homey and extremely welcoming. The server that I dealt with her name was Rose and the owner or one of the owners Hannah came and spoke, and I found out that this place has been open for 20 years, but Hannah and her partner have owned it for about eight years. This would be a nice place to come to hang out with a group of your close friends. there's a pool table. There are slot machines there dartboard there's outside seating with a fire pit as well. I got the fisherman sandwich which is a very substantial piece of cod with tartar and whatever dressing you want on the fish and my son got the Philly Which he said about demolishing in no time flat because he said it was really good. I got fries with it and we got our drinks. I will tell you that rose was the best server and her personality and friendliness just shine. Thank you Rose so much for making this a lovely lovely visit. Hannah, I appreciate the fact that you came over and spoke with us because you didn't have to and I feel that this is a welcoming spot for anyone that just wants to come and chill and I feel that we'll be back because the menu has a lot of offerings that I'm able to eat so do yourselves a favor come on down the Harris Creek Tavern, and enjoy the ambience and the camaraderie found here. Covid----We arrived evidently just before the surge of people evidently on Saturday night. Soon thereafter they were overrun with people and made no effort to limit the crowd numbers. They took absolutely no social distancing actions other than a tape in front of the bar that everyone ignored. It began to look like a frat party by 6 pm. Best loyal patrons ever!! Great location and environment. Very comfortable place and tons of fun!!!! Hardly ever disappoints. But........being totally real........one bartender is extremely unfriendly and distant and doesn't understand the "next" in line courtesy. Also, she refuses to acknowledge who's waiting to order......a caring person would make eye contact with customers and a kind greeting seems appropriate, being ignored until she decides who's next is not sustainable. Once she's gone, the best bar in Louisville will be even better!!! My husband and I went to have a drink and meet some friends on a Friday night, there was a good crowd in the bar so we squeezed in between some people to wait on a drink. A bartender named Nicole looked at the young man waiting next to us and snapped "I already don't like you", I could not believe what I was hearing. He hadn't even had the opportunity to get a word out before being bullied by the woman behind the bar. We left without putting an order in. I don't know what kind of privilege she thinks she has to speak to anyone like that but as a tipped worker I can't imagine she makes much. Maybe thorobreds would be better suited for her. The bartenders used to be personable and fun, now you get snapped for looking the wrong way while standing at the bar. This place is so great! The staff members are all friendly, and the owner is always working which is nice. The drinks are so good and affordable. The vodka sour they make is seriously amazing The food is really really good and it's really not expensive at all. The brunch menu is great too if you need a new place! Great place to grab drinks with friends! Very reasonable drink prices and the usuals are always friendly when I visit. Some similar bars seem annoyed if you aren't a usual customer. I found service to be fine but not a fan of the food. It's expensive (probably due to being right on the River) and nothing special. I went here for my friends 21st birthday and when I gave her my card To pay for a round of drinks we were refused service for apparently too many fake ID's. The shots were for everyone all over 21 and it was my friends 21st birthday. It definitely took us by a surprise as we were all trying to just have fun for a birthday celebration. I do not recommend if you are new to the bar scene as they will turn you away. We went here for food. I thought the food was really good and a reasonable price. It is bar food so don't expect the best meal ever. The service was poor and why I'm giving this rating. We waited for almost an hour. We were told 15-20 minutes. We also were missing half our order. This took another 10 minutes to resolve. Like I said, this is really a bar not a restaurant. This place is like Cheers on the River . It is definitely a regulars kind of establishment with a repeat clientele . However that being said the atmosphere is very welcoming . They have Keeno , scratch offs , pool table , darts , healthy pours and great food. I always get the dry rub wings or the sliders. The fire pit is big and covered so you can hang outside even in colder weather . They don't mess around with fake ids , if you have underage in your party that present a fake the entire party will be asked to leave but honestly that's just smart business so I don't get the frustration voiced about that . Don't sneak in underage kids with fake ids which is wrong you won't have that problem. This is one of the only places I will go alone because once you are a part of the HCT family you know you'll always see a friendly face . My wife was excited to take me here. We sat on the patio, which overlooks Harris's Creek. We got there right when they opened at 11:00 and grabbed a table within seconds of walking it. Quiet, pleasurable meal. I had "The Fisherman" which was beer battered cod (generous portion), but you black get it broiled. Potato salad, suggested by our waitress, was excellent, as was the fish. Very good food especially if you're coming by boat and looking for something different on the river. The buffalo chicken wrap is fantastic paired with the onion rings. I've had the burger a few times and it never disappoints. The cheese fries were phenomenal and we will definitely get those again. The bartender Adriel is always on hand with the cold beer. Terrible experience! We arrived at 7:45. Went to bar to order food at 7:58 since no one came out to us or acknowledged us. Wrong order placed, order changed at 8:05.... had to continue going into the bar to get drinks... soft drinks were messed up. Went back in to check on food at 8:30, 8:40, and at 9 when I went in to cancel the order it was done and they were bringing it out to me. My husbands sandwich was wrong. Then, when we went back in to ask for the chili to be taken off the receipt at 9:17, the owner was extremely rude, yelling at us at asking us over and over again if we wanted it to go. I love this tavern. My girlfriend and I visit at least once a week. The kitchen is very friendly and provide very good food. The bartenders are very nice and the ladies will surely provide great drinks and service. Low tolerance for rude people here and will be asked to leave. Hidden gem! Wondered in recently, headed to Cunningham's(closed) and wound up walking in next door (Banner with the scrumptious burger lured us in tbh) since our original destination was closed (river flooding). One of the owners, Hannah, was simply amazing - welcoming and attentive. My guest and I gave the wings and sliders a try. Both were a hit and the prices were even better.
