When in London, come see Harrods! Even if designer brands aren't your thing. They have a food hall, chocolate hall and a Hennessy specialty lounge. Wish we had more time but we did manage to grab some scotch eggs, tikka masala, chocolates and souvenir biscuits from the food and chocolate hall. One of my favorites, if not my favorite locations in London! Is it cheesy, of course, but the history behind the store and what it offers to it's customers far succeeds what most would expect. It is a multi level "mini" mall, but on a high end level. You can get anything from gold plated televisions, expensive designer brands, furniture, jewelry, tech equipment, all the way to some of the best snack food in the area. In all honesty, since I've been so many times, I just b-line for the market as it offers everything you need. Is it expensive, yes of course, but it is high quality and actually very delicious. With it's popularity, expect a TON of people no matter what time of the year, so while wandering around, make sure you have a game plan or you will be caught with the flow of the crowd. Literally, the worst "high end" shopping experience of my life. Premium fashion brands with prices jacked up beyond belief. Tons of employees, but they are poorly trained and disinterested in caring for customers. A woman servicing the mens shoe department had no knowledge of lasts or widths. The book department was interesting, but immediately ordered one book at 60% off and another at 80% off on Amazon. Their lunch special individual pizza was $48. Come on. Harrods is an experience like nothing I have ever seen before. We were able to easily spend a few hours wandering around the store. There are multiple bars and restaurants, we didn't get to try them but they looked fun! We did get to try some chocolate at the chocolate shop, it was tasty and the service was great. We appreciated the employees recommendations. This store is huge and has multiple floors. There is about every shopping category you can think about! Designer, men's, women's, home, gourmet food, candy store, perfume, shoes, you name it. The only downside is the bathroom situation. They are a nightmare to find and when we went they had a 30 person line, for the number of people this store attracts (I think it's 7 floors) I'd imagine they would have more readily available. We originally planned on getting some beverages at a few of the bars but didn't want to have to wait in the 30 person bathroom line again so left before doing any of that. read more

Decided to stop by and make a reservation at the Prada Cafe. Well do I have something to say about this place. As a foreigner traveling here I'm very upset. One I asked about 4 workers in Harrods to show me where this cafe was and they all gave me different directions. It took me almost 10mins and I was almost late to my reservation. Next is I get into the cafe and you can automatically feel judged for whatever you look like or what you're wearing. My husband and I were dressed too knowing this is probably what's to be expected. After we were finally seated we went to order our coffees and teas and the machine isn't working, so we moved forward and ordered our food. Finally after about 20mins our food came and apparently the coffee machine is back in service. We then order our coffee in which we finished all our food and the coffee still never arrived. Service was like a 3/10 not attentive at all. Atmosphere is okay very small and just has the Prada label on everything. If you don't really care for Prada I would say pass on this place. I'm definitely more of a Chanel or Tiffany girl, would never come back. If you're traveling from another country definitely pass not worth it. Actually try going to El&N better service and coffee and also cheaper too. Overall 0/10 would I come back no never. read more

What can I say: I'm attracted to shiny pretty things and I like souvenirs. I could spend the whole day here and max out my credit card. What is not to love about one of the most famous stores in history? I certainly didn't come here to clothes shop, but more to experience the multiple floors of insane displays and cool items on offer. One must-stop in my opinion is the food hall area - so many fun items! Expect to pay a premium for anything sold here. Giant department store in London. When I walked inside the store, so many people were shopping there it was very crowded. Went to the food area, so many selection of items they have especially chocolate. Bought a potato chips with caviar flavor. This is our first trip to London, so we decided to partake in some London traditions. First up was afternoon tea. While there are afternoon tea offerings at many local places around London, we chose Harrods based on other reviews and pictures. It was about 65GBP per person, but it was well worth it. I don't like to leave negative reviews but this is to protect customers. I have had the worst experiencing ordering an item online and then returning it. Their return website does not have true transparency in their process and restrictions. Emailing and WhatsApp don't get you a response. I had to call, in order to get a response. One out of three customer service representative was attentive to me. I thought I was safe through a major department store. They refused a return on an expensive item even though it was sent to me faulty to begin with. The sticker had been moved to begin with on the sole of the shoe. I should've videotaped the condition and looked with a microscopic eye. I tried on the item and it was too big so I returned it. Only for them to say they won't accept it. The representative said even if I say it was faulty they wouldn't accept it. Then they should label certain items nonrefundable. Go straight through the manufacturer and don't order online from Harrods. read more

Harrods! What can I say about Harrods! I came back to visit Harrods 10 years later and during the holiday season. How special is it during that time of year with all of the holiday decorations and packaged gifts. So many levels of shopping and eating. Reservations for afternoon tea is definitely needed and should be made way in advance thru the website. The basement has this large Harrods Gift Shop where you can buy so many souvenirs. They also have a food court on the first floor, but can be tight and very busy which will need reservations. read more

Dizzying array of different stores all in one place that's almost too much to deal with, but still an experience. I'd give this place 3 stars for me, but it's not for me it's for people who love to shop. My wife is (or at least used to be) of those people and so we had to come while we were staying in London. The place is pretty much exactly as advertised, which is almost a shrine to the idea of shopping with one of almost every store you can imagine in a labyrinthine warren of stores across more floors and stairwells than you'd expect. The overall effect for me (and even to some extent my wife) was pretty overwhelming more than fun. It was harder than I wanted to find the stores we were actually interested in and even finding a theme (like sunglasses) was pretty hard. The result also meant that there was some decision paralysis where there were just too many options and we wound up not buying anything even when we had some ideas of what we were looking for. read more

Between the food area which has been completely redesigned and the home furnishings floor, it's always a feat for the eyes. Honestly, I really didn't know what to expect when I wandered in here. I've heard so much about this place, and how it is really expensive, and really exclusive, but a part of me was expecting it to be like your typical department store. It turned out that it actually is more like a shopping centre as opposed to a department store, and a shopping centre in Shenzen, only much more expensive, and much more exclusive. Basically there are multiple stalls each selling specific brands, and the halls are pretty narrow. I suspect it is because this place pre-dates the modern department store. However, this international crossover shopping mall is what has basically sustained the new outlook of Knightsbridge and the infamous Sloane Street which leads onward to Sloane Square and Kings Road. Once again, the money business exchange is great which is why the bakery unfortunately remains so commonly out of fashion and considered a bit fad. although the rest of its kitchen get the full support from some of the world's finest chefs. Harrods is home to the only possible people who can make incredible journeys through the biggest adventures where every step counts a reality. That unique ethos has been allowed to tap and change the real world of retail for some of the most richest in society, and which is beyond the natural limits. God help me with next purchase. We mostly visited the food halls. Lots of delectable looking goodies. We encountered a bit of what we perceived to be poor customer service. We were at the patisserie counter and the counter person promptly asked a family if they needed help. I purposely circled the counter several times in an attempt to get that same counter person to ask me if I needed help. She never did. I hate to say it but I believe it was a case of colorism from a person who is my same color. Finally the person who was working with her asked me if needed help. He answered my questions nicely. Off I went to purchase a chocolate and an almond croissant, Swiss chocolate and a reusable bag. The same person came to the register to speak with the person who was checking me out--while I was being checked out. This was distracting for the salesperson and me. I nicely told the woman who would not provide me assistance and then so rudely interrupted the salesman person who was ringing me out that I told she was rude. She the apologized. I've been here for shopping, recently came here before closing ( Covid times). Surprised to see how much food there is! Even caviar! Naturally, I went around that whole food court thrice! Scotch egg was divine! Prettiest salmon & creme fraiche was super fresh even at night. They also had butter chicken, fresh pastas! Oysters, spot prawns,Langostines (cooked), lobsters, king crab! Pizzas! Like everything!! Espresso counters ( London fog latte), and chocolates! They have fruit too but chocolates and pastries are to die for. It's a beautiful store situated in a lovely location with tons of stunning items but the layout and foot traffic is insane. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by the amount of people walking in auto-pilot and store signage is vague at best. I walked around for 20mins trying to find a particular bag only to be directed to men's outdoor section (unisex bag). "Only do what your heart tells you." - Lady Diana Location: Knightsbridge, London, England. Harrods is as iconic as Buckingham Palace. Well not quite, but almost. A private luxury retail company that was founded by Charles Harrod in London, circa 1849. Some of the first customers issued credit included: Oscar Wilde, Ellen Terry, Charlie Chaplin, Noël Coward, Gertrude Lawrence, Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. On my journey to Harrods I made sure I visited the food hall and English teas as well as the luxury side of it. A dress code is required for entry, but just note it's not Victorian era properness that is required today, instead common sense and cleanliness is what's more important. To me, it's more a visual experience than shopping in material excess. Just to admire the 19th century Knightsbridge architecture is good enough! The expected Harrods bears can be found throughout the 5 acres of shopping. And I even met Rodney Bear, the official mascot of Harrods! I did manage to find a dapper looking leather card holder for my wallet, of course in the UK 007 colours! So after high tea with my English cousin, it was time for me to leave Knightsbridge. For a purist, you might be disappointed that Harrods is now owned by Qatar holdings, even though the agreement is to keep everything per normal. The Lady Di and Dodi Fayed Memorial was also recently removed and returned to the Fayed estate. Just so you're not disappointed if your main purpose is Lady Diana Spencer. Harrods was just a tad overwhelming, but I admit, a joy too! In the end, a visit to London without Harrods as a date is plain silly. You must visit at least once in your lifetime and definitely go for high tea on the menu! To visit a site that Oscar Wilde once frequented, and later Lady Di was enough for this history romantic. When in London you have to check out Harrods. My wife and I were sure to stop by during the end of our honeymoon. It is a massive store and we were sure to only focus on our favorite areas which were the stuffed animals and toys as well as the gift shop downstairs. The prices can be high but if you shop careful like us the prices are not not bad. We ended up getting chocolates, pens, and oven mitts for our family and friends as well as a British Flag bear for ourselves and a Paddington Bear for our baby niece. The staff there are also very friendly. We also checked out the bar on the lower floor and tried a cider and a beer with our Harrods bear we purchased. read more

This is not the Harrods I used to now. It seems to cater to Middle Easterns. It sure has a lot to choose from but is not well displayed. It's crowded. It's difficult to find what you are looking for or even an area and there are not a lot of people available to help. Still it's worth a look as the "Egyptian escalator area" is beautiful. The Lady Di and Dodi memorial are long gone, gone with the sale of the store by the Fayed family to another. I didn't feel this place was as classy as it used to be. Yet it is stocked to the gills with classy things. It's the display and service that are lacking. Decor not great either. read more

Upscale luxury store that has a unique construction to it. It is like there are halls that branch off a center staircase. Beautiful store in an amazing location. As soon as you walk through the entrance, you'll want to explore every department on each of the floors (3-4?). You don't have to love shopping to visit, "window shoppers" will enjoy themselves as well, including visitors looking for souvenirs. Lots of designer departments but we only had time to visit the Louis Vuitton section. Like some businesses in London, they will work with you on taxes and duties. If you have some time and you are in the area please do yourself a favor and visit Harrods. Not just for the luxuruioua ahopping but for the amazing food options they have on site. The Prada and Breakfast at Tiffanys cafes are both located inside. I would recommend setting up a reservation in advance as you do not want to be stuck outside waiting to hopefully have a cancellation. We were able to plan in advance and secure a spot and everything was to die for!. I mean its Tiffanys and Prada, how can you lose? The prices are fair and efinitely not what you expected from big brand names like them. If you are from a major city the prices are pretty on par to eating at any other restaurant in a major metropolitan city. My absolute favorite was the prada cafe but as a die hard BAT movie fanatic i was dyyyyiiing that i was there.
