The last time I played this course was in 1999. It was somewhat new at the time and built on re-claimed property from a land fill. The only hole I remembered was #9, over the Grand Canyon and up a massive hill. The tee box is lower down the hill so you are staring up this hill with no possible way to see over the hill or the flag stick on the green. I was most impressed by the driving range and practice area for chipping and putting. Nearly every course I have gone to in the CLT area is challenged to keep real grass growing on the driving range but not this place. Over all this course is about what you would expect for a Charlotte area public course. The tee boxes are in decent shape, the fairways are spotty with some grass and bare spots. If you have not played a course before, I find there is sometimes a challenge getting on the correct cart path from green to tee. Same for this course, the paths are not well marked. What I found exceptional was the condition of the greens. Not a single bare spot on any of the 18 greens. All well cared for and rolling true. The cart paths are a disaster. There are quite a few blind shots, up hills and severe dog legs. There is a fair amount of water and you'll be punished for missing the fairways, I highly recommend the Perks + passport for affordable golf. There are 5 CLT area golf courses that will offer you discount golf and added discount if you are a Senior. I played 18 holes with a cart for $34.00 bucks. Even though they have a dining room and kitchen, it remains closed due to COVID. If you're distracted by the sound of gunfire, you might want to avoid this course as there is a nearby shooting range.

As a golf professional on the Thai Tour, I can say this is one of the greatest golf courses I've ever played. The greens were exceptionally fast with divot marks giving the greens more complexity. The fairways were well maintains with a beautiful bright green color, and the tee boxes were very challenging and very nice. Sometimes there were powerlines on the golf course which added to the overall intricacy and strategy of this course. This is truly an phenomenal, unparalleled golf course and I hope every golfer gets to experience it.

this is the FAIRway, not the rough, but the fairway

complete trash we got there early in the a.m. the whole course was in disarray. garbage overflowing with trash from the day before, no water in any of the water stations, zero ground maintenance . what a shame, the course has such potential and it's being completely wasted

    Worst greens in Charlotte!

Great course layout. Greens are a bit slow depending on when they cut them, but they are in good shape. Views are very nice as well.

Horrible condition. Rates not equal to course upkeep. Would not recommend. Driving range was alright though.

This course is awful. Fire ants everywhere, broken cart paths, rough greens. I won't play here again

Played on Saturday, was in really bad condition. Both the greens and the golf cart path. Was not worth the money we spent.

It's been six years since my last review and time for an update…read more My buddy/co-worker S Fulwider is always giving me grief about not being spontaneous. Today, I called him at 10a and told him we had a 1p tee time and he was ready to say 'yes' after he cleared the deck of the 'honey do list'. The traffic was thick North on I-77 from Fort Mill but no grid lock so we made it in 20minutes and still had time to hit a bucket of balls. Jay is 'still' there, he's a fixture at this place and has been for at least the last 6 years since I retired and started playing there. They are no longer under Radcliffe Management but under Troon. Their 'on-line' booking website is excellent. IF you're playing solo, you're REQUIRED to call and book. We made the 9 hole round in 1 hr, 45 minutes and it was busy. We had a slow three some walking in front of us. It's hard to beat the price on this muni when you can get a Senior AND Vet discount and play for less than $30 bucks. Fulwider was pleased with the experience except on hole #9, the finishing par 5, he swears a blacksnake ate his ball. Always a nice change of pace but at prime time, Friday to Sun you will be challenged to get a time time and pace of play.

Pretty fun 9 hole track, and at a reasonable price with the golf cart. There are a lot of elevation…read morechanges, up hill and down hill, and most holes are doglegged. Staff wasn't the most welcoming, but that was fine. Greens were in average condition, bunkers were in pretty poor condition, but given the price, that was expected. We did like how the ladies tees got quite a few yards on the men's.
