It's been six years since my last review and time for an update. My buddy/co-worker S Fulwider is always giving me grief about not being spontaneous. Today, I called him at 10a and told him we had a 1p tee time and he was ready to say 'yes' after he cleared the deck of the 'honey do list'. The traffic was thick North on I-77 from Fort Mill but no grid lock so we made it in 20minutes and still had time to hit a bucket of balls. Jay is 'still' there, he's a fixture at this place and has been for at least the last 6 years since I retired and started playing there. They are no longer under Radcliffe Management but under Troon. Their 'on-line' booking website is excellent. IF you're playing solo, you're REQUIRED to call and book. We made the 9 hole round in 1 hr, 45 minutes and it was busy. We had a slow three some walking in front of us. It's hard to beat the price on this muni when you can get a Senior AND Vet discount and play for less than $30 bucks. Fulwider was pleased with the experience except on hole #9, the finishing par 5, he swears a blacksnake ate his ball. Always a nice change of pace but at prime time, Friday to Sun you will be challenged to get a time time and pace of play. read more

Pretty fun 9 hole track, and at a reasonable price with the golf cart. There are a lot of elevation changes, up hill and down hill, and most holes are doglegged. Staff wasn't the most welcoming, but that was fine. Greens were in average condition, bunkers were in pretty poor condition, but given the price, that was expected. We did like how the ladies tees got quite a few yards on the men's. read more

Coming from someone who golfs in LA, I was mesmerized by the layout of the golf course. Tall trees everywhere. This 9 hole course is well kept. Very historic too with the plaques laying out the iconic achievements of Dr. Sifford. There is a very strong community that supports this golf course. Everyone was so welcoming and loving. This course reminded me of the front 9 of the Hokuala course in Hawaii. Gorgeous. read more

Everything was great except the cart Marshall. People at the front desk were great, the main problem was the cart Marshall. Completely unfriendly, made our group of 4 skip 2 out of 9 holes (this course only has 9 holes, not 18) because we were taking our time mid-afternoon on a weekday in the wintertime. What can I say about Sifford? It is decidedly average. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing here because it's cheap and close to my home, but the price reflects the condition of the course and the clientele it attracts. The layout is plenty fun and although short, does provide a good amount of challenging shots with long irons that you won't see every day playing a course at more normal length. The staff are as friendly as can be, and have been very accommodating when trying to get in 18 on the 9-hole course. Overall, it is what it is at 3 stars. You shouldn't expect the world and you'll probably run into some slow play, but at the price you pay, it's usually easy to overlook that and just enjoy a casual 9 in the middle of Charlotte. read more

I played 9 holes today at Sifford/Revolution Park golf course today and really enjoyed it. If you have an opportunity and especially if you are new to golf I highly recommend this course. First the rate for me was $14 for walking 9 holes (I am 55 yrs old) vs. regular rate of $18. That is a great price. Second the staff were friendly and helpful. New clubhouse. Not crowded on a weekday. I walked 9 holes in 70 minutes. Third the course was short but fair and in very good shape. The fairways were great, greens were slow but consistent and tee boxes in very good shape. Just one or two hazards were truly in play so this course won't be confused with TPC. I was able to drive one of the par 4's (286yds) so that gives you some sense of the length. Fun course and also very close to home. Give it a try. read more

Great little 9 hole, no frills golf course. It's especially convenient for me as I live near Uptown and there aren't many other municipal options close by. I used to drive to Leatherman down S. Tryon for the range, but this one is closer to me and it's the same price. You always get to hit from the grass, which I'm a fan of because I feel like hitting from mats screws up my swing (making me think I'm hitting the ball better than I really am!). It's a really short course, but I still pull out the driver on 4-5 holes. I believe they did some renovations recently, but I wouldn't be able to tell because I just started going there. That's just what I've heard. All in all, $15 to walk 9 holes during the week is what keeps me coming back. A cart is only like 4 bucks more, but I'd rather walk a short course for the exercise. read more

Fore (har har) only $20 and some change, Revolution is a good buy. Many munis are a joke, with poorly maintained greens, faster then Usain Bolt. Revolution though, recently remodeled with a modern clubhouse great fairways is always a good time. While the course is only 9 holes, it's well worth the price. It might not be Quail Hollow, but its rarely crowded, well maintained and has more than enough character. A gem if I do say so myself. read more

I hadn't busted out my golf bag in months. After seeing that that the weather was going to be upper 50's this past Saturday, I told myself that the least I could do was hit the driving range. Prior to coming to revolution, the only other driving range I had been too here in Charlotte was down on S Tryon and Tyvola - It isn't far, but this place is MUCHHHHH closer to my apartment. The good: 3 mins from my apt $9 for a large bucket (very reasonable) You hit on grass vs. turf mats Plenty of parking The not so good: Fairly small driving range area: It was packed on Saturday (12-15 spots?). I had to wait about 20 mins for a spot to open up. Its not the end of the world, but I just hate waiting. My buddy Dan mentioned that this is a good place to play a quick 9 for a "quick and dirty fix" haha. I will prob hit the range a once more and then come out and play the actual coarse. Nice golf course. They really keep the course in good shape for the most part. The greens roll very well. The fairways are nice with right amount of grass. Bunker locations are reasonable and protects greens in the right places. The course is short but challenging enough to help improve your game, especially iron play. The layout also makes the course a favorite for those that like to walk and play. The only negative is that they could do a little better job of preventing golfers from jumping holes. Besides this being totally against golf etiquette it can hold up the course. Otherwise this is a great course with a good staff. read more

Great experience! Is this a world-class golf course? No, but if you want an enjoyable round on a well-maintained, reasonably priced golf course, consider this course. Only nine holes, but an interesting layout. Play before or after work or school, or just about any time of day and get a round in less than 2 hours. I'm a senior, 9-handicap player who no longer wants or needs to slug it out for 6 hours on a weekend. Fairways, greens, and even sandtraps are in great shape. Feels like a Donald Ross course. Easy to walk and carry your clubs, but if you like to ride, Sifford has quiet, clean electric carts. Perfect for junior golfers. Practice greens include sand traps. Driving range has brand new balls. read more

Course didn't seem well-maintained as others speak about. Some fairways are overgrown with weed-like plants and perhaps, due to rain, the fairgrounds are really soggy and does not enhance the golfing experience. That said, it costs $23 for a 9 holes of golf with a cart on Saturday morning which is nice price. I wouldn't mind playing the course again. For those true golf afficianados, it plays like an executive course with the longest hole being approximate 450 yards, par 5. Greens upkeep seemed reasonable. I wish they had more distance markers on the floor--the few that I found were hard to spot on the sprinker heads. Meh, it's nice to get out in the sun, enjoy the weather, and play a (half) round. dmo out. read more

Played the course with my "junior" son and it was great. The course was challenging enough for me but not too hard for him. Fairways were fantastic. Well kept and groomed. Greens even better. Very true reads. Big greens but not just flat like some overs I played. I played many muni golf courses and this on was right up there with the best!!! The staff was super friendly and helpful. My one criticism is they need more/better yardage markers. But that is a common problem on almost all muni courses I have played and some public courses. I plan to make this a regular spot for me and my son to play. Also they cook a great hot dog. read more

Good for uptown to have a course so close. It's not gonna blow u away but you can get in a quick 9 holes and get back to life... 4 stars for the remodeling and it keeps me from driving 20 mins to a course in pineville or birkdale. Also prices are fair. You don't pay a whole lot but ur not getting a arnold palmer designed course either. Go have fun with it read more

The location is just outside of Uptown and provides excellent practice facilities. The staff is always friendly and prices reasonable. I've enjoyed coming here for years and will continue to do so for many more. read more

This place is a total dump. These crooks that run this place are the biggest group of incompetent morons I have ever witnessed in my life. My friend and I made a tee time late in the afternoon and the guy at the register told us to make sure we were on time for teeing off. We went to hit a small bucket of balls to warm up on the mud pit that was the "driving range". In all seriousness there was zero grass to be found, just mud. We get to the starter to find a group on the 1st holes green, a group in the fairway, and three groups to tee off. We waited around and finally teed off. After 30 minutes we decided to pick up our tee shots on the first hole because of ridiculous pace of play. Guy at the register wouldn't give us a refund and made up some bs rain check policy. I have been to several muni courses and this one is BY FAR the worst. Course was abysmal, rude employees, mud hole driving range, packed like a zoo with a complacent starter who could not keep pace of play. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Go on GolfNow or TeeOff.com and find a better deal at a better course. You have been warned. read more

This course is great. 9 holes is a great amount of time to play so you do not get tired, and everything there is just so layed back, inlike the pro courses where there is pressure to play like a pro. And the fact that there are only 2 water traps makes oh-so-happy! Revolution is great for fun, inexpensive golf! read more

Great and convenient course to get in a quick nine. Located 5 minutes from uptown Charlotte the course is affordable and in decent shape for a Public course Only nine holes but Revolution offers several chipping and putting greens as well as a driving range. read more

Good little track. Holes vary, conditions are decent. Best of all, you can get on, and get around pretty fast. Very close to Uptown, and you get a good view of 77 while playing. read more

If you need a swing coach Bobby is the man. He fixed my swing in about 100 balls. I plan to return for more lessons and continuing improving. I haven't played the course so I can't comment on that. read more

I play this course about once every couple of weeks. Its close to uptown without the uptown price. Its fairway and green conditions are far better than courses in the area that you can pay double the price read more

everything about this place is amazing. i take lessons with wes and he is an amazing instructor at very reasonable prices. excellent teacher and plays at a pro level himself. practice grounds are amazing and staff are really friendly and courteous. read more
