We showed up at about 1115 and there were supposed to be volunteers there, but we honestly had no idea where to go. We tried opening one door to a random building, but it was locked and we don't even know if that was a building that we were supposed to go to. We stood outside with another couple who are also wondering the same thing who would let have liked to go inside, but we did not see any volunteers around. We stood outside, taking photos as we did not want to interrupt any businesses or homes nearby. Great history. It is definitely worth seeing a perfect 5 to 10 minute check it out what type of activity.

Located on the Delaware/Maryland state line, the Fenwick Island Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse…read morein Delaware. It was built in 1858 and stands a proud 87 feet tall. The lighthouse is painted white but the paint has certainly faded since its last restoration and needs a major touchup. Still, it's a beautiful brick structure even if it is not currently used for navigation. There really aren't great angles for photos since the street has a power line that gets in the way. Right up close and looking directly up is the best you'll get. I stopped by on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. The structure was closed. During normal business hours, the building is apparently open for tours and you can go inside. [Review 18156 overall - 83 in Delaware - 1678 of 2022.]

I feel like a real insider now, because I found the most perfect kayak and sailboat rental place…read more I've been here twice this year I get nothing but great energy from Jen and Mitch; paddling or sailing with them is like being with my own paddle club back on the Ches. I've gotten awesome service from them - whether it's booking a lesson last minute, or asking for a touring yak pre-seasons. Their little shop is adorable and in a perfectly serene location right on the bay. I can't tell you how much this counts for me - city docks and slips are just un-fun and their shop feels like my favorite put-in back home. They are both experienced paddlers and chatting with them is just like chatting with any of the sea kayakers in my paddle club. The Lil-Ass Bay (I'm sorry, I just can't help it) is also a great paddling spot ! With extremely limited boat traffic, and a refuge to it's north, kayaks can relax a bit and focus on observing the wildlife without having to keep their head on a pivot for speeding boaters and fishermen. These same reasons also make it a great place to take sailing lessons and let the wind carry you a bit. I have to admit that I've never actually paid attention to the prices ahead of time. You can tell when you're dealing with Jen, Mitch, or any of their helpers that they are going to be fair and reasonable. So I've always just gone out, come back when I wanted to, and paid and every single time I've been happily surprised at the price. Even the sailing lesson was more affordable than I expected. Paddling here is like paddling with a friend. Will definitely be back on this trip and many future ones. Quite side note about sailing, yes, they do have some rules about sailing as another review posted - not being able to jibe can be a little bit annoying sometimes when you really just want to run or reach down a bit, but it allows them to keep the sailing accessible and affordable to more people, which is important. Can't wait to get back out there again.

I was here again with my same family of five including two elementary school children. This time I rented two double kayaks for 1 hour at $30 each or $60 total. I also rented one single kayak for one hour or $20. Our total cost was $80 for two doubles and one single kayak in total. This time we traveled south in the bay since the current was moving North. That made it easier for us to kayak back to the kayak base. We returned within one hour. I also purchased a Coastal Kayak hoodie for $40. We agreed we will return here again.

Over all in Ocean City there are clean beaches, loads of ocean side shacks, lots of fun and entertainment amusement parks, pubs, a huge brewery with several dance floors by the name of Seacrets, innumerable restaurants, mostly a delight for sea food lovers, water sports adventurers, fresh fruit crush cocktails, beach bodies. A good getaway during summers both for large groups and for smaller families , lots to do and enjoy for everyone!

If you are handicapped especially limited to a W/c do not come here. Parking spaces are wayy too…read moresmall. If you have a ramp forget it they have barely any spots for ramp to extend out let alone get your chair off. If you're going to the beach they have 1 beach chair in 5 locations during a 2.5 mile stretch that you have to share. No vendors rent them. The box they keep chairs in is locked. You need to fill out a form and when you find beach patrol they open box. At 27th st on side of box i was told it says u must return chair after getting to your spot on the beach. This is on a dead end and on opposite side of walkway to the beach. Who the hell would walk around there to see if there's instruction painted on box. It was also in the very fine print on your registration form and I missed it. My Bad. So beach patrol man (Rude) needed the chair and told me he couldn't guarantee me If would get it back. (Was told by an administrator he never should have said that). So we had to leave the beach right then after spending 70 bucks for umbrella and chairs. Lifeguards are responsible for handing out beach whl chairs and are not trained and have no clue what they are telling you. I was told by lifeguard to have it back by 5:00. A big F U to the handicapped community from the town of OC Maryland. After all these years this beach town has been here they have 5 beach chairs for the entire town. You should be ashamed of yourselves. DO BETTER!!!
