Liz and Justin were awesome. Everything was set up for us, got us in the water quickly and paddled to island with cool wildlife. Talked about birds, terrapins, and crabs in the area. Lots of horseshoe and fiddler crabs on island. Tandem and single kayak options. Would definitely recommend!

We did the Bald Cypress Tour with guide Gary. It was amazing and peaceful kayaking through the trees. We saw plenty of wildlife, including snakes, turtles, great blue herons, and even 2 young raccoons. Gary was great to point out where we might see wildlife. I would highly recommend this tour. We hope to do some more kayaking with them while we're here in Delaware!

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was our first time out on kayaks so they gave us a brief tutorial to help us get going! Coming back on the bay was much quicker with the help of light winds and we saw some wildlife during our one hour rental. Definitely would recommend Coastal Kayak and look forward to trying them out again!

Every year we return to kayak (7? Maybe 8?) and each time we agree that these kayak trips are the highlight of our vacation. Every aspect of this business is just outstanding. The equipment, the focus on safety and fun, the locations...most importantly we love the the guides. These are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable people. This year we saw 21 wild horses including a foal. They can't control the wildlife but they know the area and will get you to the best locations. Shout out to our guides, Madi and John~ our guests really enjoyed the trip! See you next year!

Nothing but amazing things to say. The staff is not only friendly but so easy going while still working quickly to get everyone taken care of. They let you be independent with your rentals if you chose to do so. They gave us a few suggestions on where to kayak to and we were off. I got to take my back pack on the kayak and packed a few snacks and drinks for my family and such and they had no issues with me doing that. The area was beautiful and there was a marsh 15 mins down the bay where you could kayak and explore around where wildlife was common.

Did the Sunset Tour with guide Justin. He was great. Low-key, super-helpful and knowledgeable. We saw cormorants, osprey, and several other birds. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect and we caught a near-flawless sunset. Highly recommend!

Cobey and staff were the BEST! This was our first trip to Bethany Beach near Costal Kayak and me, wanted to do everything on my bucket list, just HAD to check out kayaking. Instructions were explicit, but we wound up running ashore most of the time and even flipped the kayak once, getting soaked! But we had fun. They explained it was going to be rough waters anyway b/c of recent hurricane activity. Anyway- done that, did that, and got the T-shirt!

Best thing we did on vacation was a kayak lesson at Coastal Kayak. My family of 4 had never kayaked but Todd from Coastal had us all zipping around the bay quickly. He is a fun and thorough teacher. The bay only gets about 5 feet deep so have no fear. Ask for Todd and have fun

Outstanding time on the Assawoman waters in Fenwick DE!

What an amazing time for beginner kayakers wanting a great experience. Highly recommended. We had Bob and Cameron, excellent instructors who sanitized equipment, provided all of our gear and gave us excellent instruction. A+++++

Ask the Community - Coastal Kayak

Are canoe rentals available Saturday Sept 19 or Sunday September 20?

Paul, one and two person kayaks will be available over the weekend. This is assuming it is not too windy. Might want to call first.

And so I did! I invited my daughter and her BF as well. We made reservations for an eco tour at 4pm. It was to Last about 90 min or so. We found the spot. (Right behind Ron Jon surf Shop) we were fitted into the kayaks and here we go! I thought it would be hard or strenuous to paddle but that thinking was the exact opposite of the reality! It was smooth floating over the water in the bay! This kayak can float in like 5 inches of water!! We had the best tour guide! (Jacob) He showed us all the mussels that make up the Bay island grasses and the different birds and how to tell them apart. Small blue herons with the yellow feet and we Saw a nice size Osprey flying around hunting for food. We also found and learned about horseshoe crabs. I mean, I've seen those all my life in NC but never picked up a live one! It was like a tarantula under his helmet and I think Jacob (our guide) said they had 10 eyes!!! Wow!!! We saw everything right in front of our eyes. No binoculars needed. It's extremely relaxing. Extremely informative. Extremely beautiful. There were another 3 people that bunched with our group to kayak and a family of prob 4. I think paddleboarding that also bunched with our group as well. Everyone was very respectful and very interested in everything Jacob spoke about. We didn't take our phones on the boats. We didn't know what to expect and actually we were a bit wet. Next time I'll bring mine and put in a sandwich bag or something. Also *** please tip your guide.*** It's the right thing to do. Please come to this specific location and do your kayaking and paddleboarding. It's super awesome!

Both Steve and Suzie are excellent, friendly and accommodating hosts and really know their way around this waterway. You embark from right behind their property with quality equipment and a really informative briefing on paddling techniques and boat launching. They use a special boat launch device where you can step off a dock directly into the boat without having to enter the actual water...nice to stay dry! The paddle itself took us along this intercoastal (brackish water) waterway where we saw some really interesting wildlife including many bird varieties and even some muskrats (we may have interrupted them making baby muskrats...sorry Mr. & Mrs.!!!). Coolest part of the wildlife tour was seeing two separate bald eagle nests, both with eaglets inside! Those nests are soooo huge, like 300 pounds and several feet wide! After returning from the 2 hour-ish paddle, Steve and Suzie fired up their firepit to offer us both warmth and a place to have a cookout! We brought along drinks, hot dogs and all the fixings for s'mores and shared them around the group. It was fun getting to know folks a bit better and again the owners were the perfect hosts for the entire adventure. I cannot recommend Ayers Creek Adventures more highly...give them a try for a really fun and unique experience while in the area!

I could tell my hip stabilizers & quads had been utilized (from all the balancing) later in the day haha. Reasonable pricing for an hour. For 2 ppl came to like $43. Be prepared to go for an hour cuz they don't have shorter time increments. Or just buy an hr and come back to shore when you're over it. Honestly; you'll need the hour just to acclimate to maneuvering the board. The place also offers glow in the dark paddle boarding! Looks cool but I'd be weary of any sea creatures in the bay at night. I've been watching way too much shark week/fest on Nat Geo lately lol. Only downfall in my opinion is that not all the instructors are made equal. Saw an older man & younger guy teach a couple groups before us and both were very thorough with their paddle board tutorials. This girl that I thought was just another paid customer approached us out of nowhere like "you ready?!"... oh ok no intro. She was quick with her instructions and def got us into the water fast. Seemed like she was ready to clock TF out for the day before she even started. I had fun for my 1st paddle board experience. I didn't fall. Success!I just would've been even better without this girl instructor's negative vibe. Issa whole mood that I wasn't feelin' at all. But she
