One of the things on my bucket list is to learn how to capture the brilliance and dazzle of a perfect diamond in a photo...... I keep trying but still haven't learned, Thing is, I've seen professionally photographed pictures, and while much better than mine, it's just something that I think escapes the eye of a camera.... any camera. To see these visually stunning beauties (the diamonds), especially from a store the caliber of Harry Winston, well, it's a sight to behold. I am mesmerized. Oh, and let me correct my initial statement, while photography is great, what is ALSO on my bucket list is to be able to afford an exquisite piece of Harry Winston jewelry.... that's an even better idea !! As I was not in the market for any jewelry, I did not bother to try anything on, and thus, cannot speak to the fine customer service that many other Yelpers spoke of.... but I can always say what gorgeous jewelry I viewed. This store location is much less intimidating that the ones in Beverly Hills or in Manhattan. Since Julia left, customer service has really declined. We went into the store only to be greeted with a stern look from the security guard.."Do you have an appointment?" Not very friendly. Then the person that helped us was supercilious and made us feel ignorant at times. The worst part was.. no chocolates too. My now husband and I first walked into this store 4 years ago to purchase my wedding band and our experience was excellent.  Yesterday we went to the mall and, he suggested that we go in to get my band cleaned but, to my surprise, our visit was not just to clean my ring.   We were greeted by Matthew, who nonchalantly offered to assist us. He politely asked me for my band so that he could clean it for me.  He led us into a "waiting room" in the back and to my surprise, I walk in to find a table beautifully set up with white roses, two glasses of champagne, a platter of Godiva chocolates and my husband, holding "The One!" I was confused and in utter surprise for a few seconds before reality sunk in.  My husband had purchased the most beautiful ring for me and with Matthew's help, arranged an unforgettable moment.  It could not have been anymore perfect! Before I ever heard the name HW, I remember walking into a Tiffany's store and I can't even recall being acknowledged by the sales reps.  HW not only makes high quality pieces but really is unparalleled in its customer service. In fact, BH fell in love with the ring, the diamond, the customer service and everything Harry Winston, that he wouldn't stop talking about HW for a good hour or two (and even a week) after we were shown the 1 ct (~23k) and 1.5 ct (~34k) version of "the one." Every cushion cut I showed BH before HW, he turned his cute nose up to. He wasn't into Tiffany's Legacy nor was he too thrilled about the one at Cartier either. He wasn't about squares or rectangles. He wanted a brilliant round for me - I'd get more sparkle and more beauty with a perfect circle than any other shape. As I began my search for an appraisal I wanted to start at the top. The tip top of fine jewelers whose reputations precede them. I knew that my wife's necklace was not fashioned by The Harry Winston Co. and that these Jewelry Houses do not appraise pieces that are not their own. What I did not expect was an Associate extending the courtesies of obtaining contact information for those established, reputable Jewelers that will appraise outside pieces and come with a recommendation. Matthew answered the phone and within minutes directed me to a well known appraiser as well as a second industry professional who could possibly help me with finding the right auction house for my wife's opera necklace. Matthew really did not have to do that. In reality, I am not a client, and is he neither expected nor required to go the extra mile as I'm sure so many other yelpers would feel 'entitled' to... that is sad but true. I am sure the phone rings with these kinds of inquiries far too often to be able to always maintain a friendly disposition. Not the case here... I appreciate the assistance Matt. The ONLY reason why I wanted to go to South Coast Plaza was to check out the HW store. I did browsing here and there online and was happy to know they had it at this store. My dream ring is the Classic Winston, Round Brilliant-Cut Ring and I wanted to view it. I was hesitant in entering the store because I felt intimidated by looking at the outside of the store. Upon entering, I went straight to the rings and I saw the DREAM ring. My eyes went BIG and Matthew kindly greeted us then asked me if I wanted to try some on. Are you SERIOUS? I am NOT worthy but of course I did. The first ring I tried on was the DREAM ring. WOW, so BEAUTIFUL! The price... not so much but what do you expect? The second ring was the Classic Winston, Round Brilliant-Cut Ring and oooh wee. It was AMAZING as well. The final ring I tried on was not displayed. It was the HW rings. Matthew was nice enough to go into the back and locate the HW ring. I tried that on and fell in love with it!!!!!!!!! I point to it and informed my bf with a BIG SMILE... I WANT THAT ONE. In February we contacted Harry Winston in Beverly Hills and spoke to Lynda via telephone (we live in New Zealand), and discussed our desire to upgrade our previous Harry Winston 2011 purchase of a 7ct yellow diamond ring to a pair of diamond stud earrings, using HW's upgrade program that had been promised to us as part of the original yellow diamond purchase. After a lengthy period of almost six weeks to negotiate terms of the upgrade, which allowed us to trade in the ring at original purchase price value and also be offered an approximately 20% discount on the new earrings purchase price, we were advised by Lynda that the terms had been accepted in principle, pending inspection and condition of the yellow diamond ring. Given the agreement in principle of these terms, we committed in good faith by travelling to Los Angeles in March 2020 to provide the yellow diamond ring that was required to be sent to New York for quality inspection, with the understanding that upon confirmation the yellow diamond ring was in excellent condition, the deal would proceed as per the agreed terms. Even this aspect caused worry and frustration, as one sales associate at the Beverly Hills store initially tried to claim that the diamond may have been chipped, even though Tania is extremely cautious with all her jewellery and knew she'd never knocked it. Lynda also tried to set lower expectations by suggesting the ring probably would need to be polished, which would reduce carat weight below 7ct and cause the trade-in value to be diminished. Due to the Covid lockdown period, it wasn't until mid June 2020 that this claim was refuted when we finally received word from Lynda that New York confirmed the ring was in excellent condition, and didn't need any polishing whatsoever given it has been carefully looked after and maintained. It should be noted that during this period of time, it took a lot of work from my side to find things out, instead of Lynda personally reaching out to me or at least having the common courtesy of providing periodic updates. At this point (June 2020) we decided on a pair of earrings located at HW's Rome boutique that met our specification, which fell within the parameters of the terms of our agreement. Lynda advised the earrings would be transferred from Rome to New York for inspection, before being sent to Beverly Hills for our trade-up transaction, and in the meantime the deal would be finalised from Harry Winston's side. However, after waiting a further month and a half with no updates or communication from Lynda, I checked in to ask if the earrings had arrived and all was going to plan. Lynda advised that she had already heard back, but took it upon herself not to contact me directly and let me know that HW had now 'simply' changed their mind with regards to the prior agreed trade-up transaction. Lynda even admitted she was too scared to contact me, which is extremely unprofessional. What makes it further annoying is that Lynda attempted to immediately cease all contact with me and nonchalantly ask if I had someone who could simply pick up our diamond ring that was in New York, knowing full well we are located overseas in New Zealand. We are totally shocked at the lack of courtesy and complete lack of customer loyalty Lynda has shown to us and how we have found her mannerism very poor and negligent. Lynda has been extremely unprofessional, constantly berating Harry Winston management and protocols, stating the company is "very old fashioned, stubborn and slow to respond", which I guess is actually true given our experience. Previously, during our first few purchases with Harry Winston, we originally dealt with Ilan, who was extremely professional, hence why we made three expensive purchases with his sales expertise. Ilan would always go out of his way to communicate with us non-stop, personally and proactively reaching out to us ensuring customer satisfaction was guaranteed. Due to Lynda's complete lack of customer service and clear intention to close off all contact with me, I decided to phone and speak to the HW Beverly Hills Manager, Michael. During this discussion it came to light that Lynda had been making false statements to Michael, advising him that I'd "demanded a response" and had to know back then in July to instantly close the deal, which was never the case, as I only called asking if she had an update. Due to Covid, considering the New Zealand border was closed and still is, why would I feel the need to have the transaction completed immediately back then? It's simply common courtesy and customer service - giving feedback to the customer on the latest developments. Michael therefore advised that he would deal with us from now on, and apologised for Lynda's disturbing behaviour, however, he has since apparently walked out of HW and never returned. We're so dismayed at the unprofessionalism shown at HW, and completely put off, as HW's not responding to emails/phone calls! read more

We looked at Harry Winston, Tiffany, Cartier, BVLGARI, and the usual suspects, who all had quite nice bands. Harry Winston, however, stood head and shoulders above the rest not only in the quality of the bands, but also the service (Cartier was bit curt). We were assisted by a sales director named Audrey who was patient and made the process easy and enjoyable. I know what you are thinking. How many people can go to Harry Winston boutique and buy jewelry? But before you pass any judgement, hear me out. I like to buy my clothes at Costco. I don't go to Armani and I definitely don't have a collection of paper weights from Cartier. I am just an ordinary guy who likes to save his money, eat good food, and make wise purchasing decisions. When I got together with my girlfriend, I felt that she was the perfect person for me. But due to circumstances I can't go into here, it would be a long haul before we would be able to get married. So, I decided that every month that we were together, I would set aside some cash and create an engagement ring fund. 5 years later, the time had come and the fund was not too shabby. Of course, all you girls know what a competition it can be to get the best ring, whether it be amongst friends or coworkers, everyone compares. Most girls prize the size, but it is the quality that really counts. I wanted her to win that competition. She is not the type to show it off and advertise it, but just for our own satisfaction. When I was starting to look at HW engagement rings, the price was stratospheric. But I noticed that HW stock was down in the dumps - fear of bankruptcy in the dumps. So when I researched the company I found out that a majority of their income comes from their ownership in diamond mines in Canada. Since the diamond market is extremely depressed, their stock was too. Their boutiques are a small portion of their income. HW also supplies all diamonds for Tiffany's - betcha didn't know that! So I took the plunge and purchased oodles of HW stock with the ring fund. This was at $5/share, now Harry Winston is at near $15 per share. All of a sudden I can now write a check to Harry Winston b/c of Harry Winston. Ironic isn't it. So when I went into the boutique, I picked out the Attraction Ring, with the solitaire just over 1 Carat and 120 micropaves bringing the total to 2.3 Carats. I was very impressed by the courteousness and helpfulness of the staff. They were very attentive, especially the security guards, but the sales staff never made me feel like I was not worth their time. (Thank God rich Asian people dress like crap). I think I wept quietly the night I wrote out the check. The ring took about 6 weeks for them to make. Fast forward - I gave my GF the ring and she cried, of course. It looked beautiful and was so brilliant. Most importantly I won the contest! At least we know we won. They offered free cleaning on the ring at any time to keep it dazzling. My fiance even had one micropave pop out and they replaced it free of charge. What place do you know of puts in a diamond free of charge! They even give you free Godiva chocolates. First off I'm not just window shopping. I was actually wearing my micro pave cushion cut when I walked into the store. Nevertheless, due to my youthful appearance I was treated like a kid walking into an ice cream parlor. I asked to look at the wedding band selections to go with the engagement ring, and the sales person did not seem to be interested in helping me. I pointed out a few that I wanted to try on, which she begrudgingly finally pulled out. I tried them on one by one next to my micro pave expecting her to give me some input as to how well it compliments or contrasts my existing ring, but all she could say was that their "Harry Winston version" of wedding bands do not match other designers rings. This salesperson, who judged me by my appearance, would not be fit selling diamonds at Walmart. The stupid cow could not even recognize their own halo design, thinking it was some imitation. Buyers and even window shoppers beware of the asian lady with crazy nail colors/designs. I ended up buying my band at the HW in Las Vegas, in yoga shorts, and received the treatment I deserved. read more

Talk about customer service! We didn't even know we had walked into Harry Winston. We noticed the big doors and thought "wow, nice friggin' doors" and wondered why there was a huge security guard. Never mind, the friendly young saleman was already welcoming us and insisted I try on a ring. I quickly realized we were in a super swanky store dressed like stinky beach bums and felt a little embarassed...for half a second...since by then the salesman had brought out a HUGE diamond ring saying "every woman should take a moment to try on a 12ct diamond ring..." HOLY "you know what"! It was amazing and only a 1/2 size too big, or I would have bought it right there...yeah, right. ; ) He said "take a look at it in the full length mirror..." Huh? Yes, it was big enough to see from a mile away in a full length mirror and quite nice, even though I don't wear jewelery. He had my Gent try on a watch that was ONLY $175,000. : ) Too much fun! The salesman was so engaging, let us feel free to ask many questions about gems, settings, and pricing of the insanely huge and beautiful items. Even told us the background and history of some pieces and of the watches. Too cool! It's interesting how we got no attitude at a super-high-end place like Harry Winston, and no attitude at Nathan Alan, but got plenty of cold shoulders at the many other jewelers in South Coast Plaza...hmmmm. Love this boutique and love Julia-- she's an absolute doll! My fiance and I came here to see if they could customize a 5-stone wedding band for me. Julia had to call the NYC office to see if it was possible and followed up promptly. Unfortunately, my customization was not an option. This trip wasn't completely worthless though. While there, we decided to buy a plain wedding band for me for me to wear when I travel and Julia made the transaction as easy as possible (my size wasn't available in the store and it had to be shipped to another state since neither my fiance and I would be in CA for the next few weeks). Wherever it was shipped from forgot to ship my certificate with it and when we reached out to Julia she promptly shipped that out to us. After all of this, she sent us a sweet thank you card. Now, THAT'S customer service. I hope Swatch keeps the original HW personnel in this boutique! When the Mr agreed to upgrade my ering recently, our first stop was Harry Winston. Looks like this may actually be our last stop. From the moment we walked in, we've been treated like a valued client. The Customer Service is excellent, great quality of diamond and the classic design.. all added up to a wonderful experience. We're assisted by Kristi, super nice and very professional. She answered all of our questions and concerns. We were (and still are) looking for a specific diamond they didn't have in stock, so she promised to follow up. She followed up with information as she promised she would. This is the type of service you'd want if you're spending that kind of money.. seriously, Tiffany's, take note! Just because we don't look like we can afford something, it doesn't mean, we can't! Wow. I never really walk into jewelry stores as I always feel lame for not being rich enough to buy anything. My jewelry comes from Target or Claires. So I was browsing the South Coast Plaza yesterday to get my Mom out of the house and doing something different. We were headed to Godiva for a treat. And a really pretty diamond necklace caught my eye. The three of us, my Boyfriend, Mom, and I, were wondering to each other what kind of stone was the pink one in the necklace. And the guy at the door overheard us, said it was a pink diamond and wouldn't we like to come in and try it on. Wow. The service of showing off the beautiful necklace was amazing, I felt like I was in Europe again. Matthew showed us not only the diamond and pink diamond necklace, but the matching pink diamond ring (not as impressive, but really... I got to hold all together 5 million bucks of jewelry for a moment) and huge blue sapphire ring. (I think I am in love with this Shield cut for diamonds. That was really strong and impressive, never seen that before.) Oh, I could go on about how they offered us bottled water and closed the room so they could show us their collection of jewels or just how generous with their time they were... as it was Matthew showing us the beautiful pieces, there were three others in the room keeping an eye on things and making sure we had chairs and water and were absolutely comfortable. I wish I could afford their diamonds here!!! Customer service, as expected, is top-notch! Greeted by doorman and a representative as soon as you are AT the door not IN the door. No hard selling here! My fiance and I were looking for wedding bands. I personally cannot afford their diamond bands as they are upwards of $5000 for micro pave. But in their defense, they are all hand set and all handmade. If I could...I would. My fiance fell in love with their rings, he was down to two and cannot decide on which one. Kaitlyn (sp?) was had a lot of patience and did not rush us. She let us try everything we have asked without hesitation. My boyfriend and I were just playing the price tag guessing game outside of the store when the security guard kindly opened the door for us and invited us in. We were in very very casual attire and weren't at all in the market to buy anything so I was hesitant to walk in. But the staff was extremely friendly and didn't judge us for wearing flip flops and hoodies into the store. I remember visiting with a friend years back when she was shopping for her engagement ring. The saleswoman was reluctant and channeled your typical high-end boutique salesperson attitude. Needless to say, my friend took her business elsewhere, her 3ct business in fact, to DeBeers, Now that I'm shopping for myself, I wanted to compare between the micropave settings from DB and HW. Needless to say, Matthew's wonderful customer service won me over. What other brands fail to realize, is that the entire experience is what a client is willing to pay for. We had the most wonderful experience working with Chris to find the perfect engagement ring! We knew we wanted the HW signature ring because we loved what it stood for: husband, wife; health, wealth; and well...Harry Winston. We ended up ordering a diamond because they did not have the size we were looking for available. I would have to say Chris was the most integral part in making our engagement ring dreams come true! He kept a lookout for diamonds that were entering production and contacted us as soon as the diamond we wanted became available. From then on, we waited approximately 3 or so weeks until the ring was ready! Overall, it was a wonderfully smooth process, all thanks to Chris. He was amazing!!! read more

O-M-G!!! Just the name itself is quite intimidating enough. Although it's not as grand as the one in NYC, but the pieces they have on display are just as exquisite. I was hesistant to go in, but at the same time this little voice in my head kept telling me that I should at least go in and let my eyes indulge for a bit. And so we did. My boyfriend and I went in and was immediately greeted by this sales lady. This store is definitely not like all the other typical mall jewelry stores, including Tiffany & Co.. They don't have much designs put out in their displays, but there's just no need to because even by looking at just one piece, you'll immediately know how serious Harry Winston is about diamonds. They only carry diamonds with clarity grade that is VS2 or higher, and only D,E,F colors. The lady was even nice enough to take out different designs of rings for us to look at, even though it's clear that we had no intention to purchase one. AK is not shy or a type of guy that's easily fazed until he stood in front of the gates of Harry Winston. I don't know if he was intimidated to go in or he was scared of me picking something ridiculously expensive and having me bug him for the next month or so. We walked in and was greeted by the entire store, given that there was no one in there shopping. Not much of a selection but the rings on display were bloody freaking gorgeous! I seriously had a 2. something carat asscher cut diamond on my finger and left it on my finger until I thought it got a little awkward. All the diamonds were too big, we wrote down the specs. that we were looking for and the lady said that she would email us back. She took the time to get to know us and really personalize with us. She wasn't persistent and pushy.. She let us take our time and really enjoy the experience. Prior to my experience, I was expecting rude, snobby and cold employees but to my surprise that was NOT the case!! Kathy and the rest of the team made me feel welcome every single time I came into the store. It didn't matter that I was only there to get something repaired on my last visit, I was treated the same way every time wether I was buying or not.
