Better than average bar for the area. Harry's Long Bar is actually among the top places to go in Blue Island. It certainly isn't anything impressive but for around here it's actually a pretty okay place. Has lots of great cheaper drinks as well as some not so bad food. The bar also has entertainment like slots. A bar that happens to have a kitchen. It's more so of a bar than a restaurant. That means the drinks are better than the food it seems. Among the bigger of the bars around here. Has plenty of room for groups and parties. Came in for the drink specials going on. We got some of the cheaper ones like whiskey. Food is the usual stuff fried and greasy. It's about $6 for chips and salsa. Also they have free popcorn but how fresh is it. The rest of the menu is greasy burgers and mystery looking meats. Easily one of my favorite places to go to in Blue Island besides Krave. The drinks and food here are decently priced and portioned. The food is actually delicious too. I also like that they have popcorn for customers to snack on. One thing about this place is that they are really big on IDs. They will scan it and ask for it every time. They also have free parking on premise, which sets them apart from others in the area that do not. My partner and I love their chicken tacos -- it's different from other places because it's shredded chicken. It's also not dry or bland, and everything is freshly made to order. Whenever I feel like going out, this is the place I keep coming back to. The service here is also friendly. I do wish they have champagne for a mimosa or ginger beer for a Moscow Mule. Only reason they get two stars is because the bartender on Tuesday is nice. They are out of their special (ribs) At 6pm. Third time in four visits. They are also out of chicken . I went with the burrito and it was salty as hell and a barely filled burrito. The Chips and salsa came out chewy and oilier than any chip I've ever seen. The elote had no cheese in it whatsoever. I beginning to love Harry's! Ive been here just a few times and I will definitely continue to return when I'm in the mood for a good drink and food. Located in blue island surrounded by other bars not so far in the neighborhood, Harrys is by far the Best in this little town. The bartenders are great. My favorite drink here is the long island iced tea. During the week it is very nice with little noise. The weekends can get pretty crazy. They have daily specials on the food and drinks. You can also come in and enjoy the game while you socialize and drink. Definitely try their wings and tacos! Tacos are amazing. I love Harry's. I like to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $10 domestic pitcher and 10 wings. I f***ing love their wings!!!! They're perfect EVERY time. Extra crispy and flavorful and their cheese fries with the Harry's sauce. I wouldn't expect tacos to be that great here but they are delicious! The servers in this place are rude & don't pay attention to the customers. The bar has food and drink specials that they don't offer you when make an order or ask about drink specials. We had an issue with an order, I mentioned it to the owner "Harry" while he was sitting at the bar talking to some customers. He replied, "once an order is rung up it can't be changed". I've been here twice, the first time for a friend's birthday party and I enjoyed myself, food was great (especially the wings and tacos). However, I came here last night and was very disappointed. The food was ok (wings and an order of chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and hot). The service was HORRIBLE. The bartender was not friendly at all, rarely came by even though I waved her over several times, they messed up our order, and when the bartender gave me my change she just threw it on the table. Yeah its big. Yeah they have TV's with sports on. I came here on Saturday at 7p. There were only a couple of people who had some fried food they were munching on. No bartender. 10 minutes later the back door opened, and it's the bartender, who was outside smoking. I got a beer, and asked if the Hawks game could be turned on. Oh, ok. She turned them on some TV's, and immediately went to a gaming machines and sat down. I finished my beer and a minute later she gave me another, and sat back down over at a machine. After she won some, she headed back to smoke. Some more people came in, so she came back and started serving them. When she was by me I asked how much a Jameson on the rocks was. She told me to hold on, she was serving someone else. No problem. A couple of minutes later a glass was plopped down and my twenty bucks snatched up. She came back with twelve bucks! I asked if this was correct, 8 bucks for a shot over ice. I mean we're not downtown! Yeah she said. I told her I asked how much it was first. She said sorry, didn't hear that part. I chalked it up to "last time here anyway". I had been here a year or so before with a different bartender and it was a better experience. I wanted to give this place 1 star solely based on service but because the wings are the bomb and because they have good specials, I'll give it at least 2. There's a bartender who is VERY rude, with that attitude why even work as a bartender. Not sure if she throws the race card at us but she always seems to be extra rude and require "extra" forms of ID even though our first ones always show we are way over 21 and they are valid . WTF. When We go it's usually more than 5 people, so with that said, we're going to be walking out of there and go spend our money else where the moment she starts giving us attitude. read more

I love the Nachos and the Wings but I went on Sunday to have a nice evening with my husband and the bartender ask us what do we want and we just ask for a soda and she ask water soda or regular and i say regular and she stated that water soda is regular and then i answer water soda then and she just give me mineral water so fine, my husband ask not to say anything and I agree and then for us to order something took a wile because she just keep ignoring us or telling us to wait. The bar was not full and she just live us waiting just to go and help the friends that just got in to the bar to serve them and talk to them. Next time I will definitely call the manager. My wife and I got kick out of this establishment for (her) having an expired id (Expired just a few weeks ago). Keep in mind that I had a valid ID and we are over 25. It was supposed to be a family night and obviously not a party. We asked if we could stay and not order alcohol, but the bar tender didn't care. I understand the bar has the right to do it, but I also think that it was reasonable to just let us stay in. We were not putting us, the bar, or anyone in danger. Went here with my mother and father who have both lived in Blue Island for over 30 years but have never tried Harry's. My mom was looking forward to having some good ol' pub food but as soon as we walked in we were given the cold shoulder. My mom moved a chair from one table to the one next to it to be closer to the window. When doing so the bartender was giving her a weird look. When I asked..."is there a problem?" The bartender responded back in a very smart ass tone..."no problem here but are you ok" and then continued to look at me funny and then said something under her breath that made the gentleman sitting in front of her laugh.
