So it's been another year and he's still closing.. the sign says $1 -$5 and up ... with 50-75% off. Despite what the sign says- it's not the case. Things have been repriced so they can be "discounted" the prices are mostly ridiculous. Of the 6 items I found - priced ranges from $20-$45 each. Even when I showed him that I can buy it considerably cheaper on eBay he argued that it's not right. To top it off he tried to pass off a vase as Tiffany when it was not. As an antique dealer for decades he knows. Btw he told me he's not closing Dec 31 as the sign says but will be there for a few more months lol read more

So Harry who is on site and personable is ready to make deals. His shop will be closing in approximately 3 months and he needs to liquidate the massive inventory. Chalk full and vast, I accidentally spent over an hour digging thru the dusty warehouse. I found an antique etching that I will begin researching for value, and a couple other trinkets. I spent just $20 well spent dollars on my treasures. Tip: bring someone to help hold up the hundreds of pictures staggered heavily beside each other. This would be a great place to find a frame to repurpose. Lots of vintage lamps as well, worth the dig! read more

Harry's is like three garage sales, one thrift shop, an entire antique mall, and a few estate sales...all shoved under one roof. Damn, there's a lot of stuff in there! If you're the type who salivates watching the guys on American Pickers dig through rusty, dusty warehouses, you will be in heaven here. I know I was. There were sections that were especially junky, but in a way that held promise. Like, you knew that if you had the time to pull everything out of the pile, you would find something good. At Harry's, volume is on your side. I wasn't looking for anything in particular when I entered, but within 5 minutes I found something I couldn't leave behind. It was a 20s/30s celluloid vanity set - brush, comb, mirror, nail file, shoe horn, and trinket box - with a really cool deco pattern, for only $22. I had to dig around to find all the available pieces, which is kind of a theme here. For example, if you find only part of a food processor, don't give up...you might need to shuffle things around to find all the components, but they're most likely there (hiding under some random pots and pans). As you have probably gathered, this ain't fancy shopping. Don't dress up, and do expect to get your hands dirty. But if the idea of a treasure hunt combined with a game of concentration (with the possibility of a mouse darting out at any moment) sounds like fun to you, you will get hooked on Harry's. read more

Harry knows his stuff and that includes people. He is a bit rough with his helper Mike, never once heard the man say please or thank you but if you don't mind the banter between these two and you like switching thru stuff for something worry of a gift or taking home for yourself I am guessing anyone would be able to find something to cherish in this eccentric warehouse. Which reminds me Harry and Mike remind me just touch anyway of that old sitcom "Sanford & Son's" Although these two aren't related there is a push and pull to them As for prices they are random. I read an article in the Press Democrat this week that Harry's Second Hand Warehouse is closing it's doors by the end of the year as the landlord won't renew his lease. Everything must be liquidated and is 20 to 50% off. I walked in and immediate saw thousands of items for sale including furniture, dishes, kitchen items, and much more. I almost tripped over a stereo receiver that was laying on the floor. I picked it up and it was a Marantz model 2230 stereo receiver. It looked identical to the one I had in the 70's with glowing blue radio station analogue display and blue signal strength meter. It was priced at $80 and I got it for $40. I look on eBay and this receiver is going for $200 to $400 as this piece of vintage equipment is better designed and built than the newer stuff. My brother and I had the unfortunate task of placing our mom in a care facility. We had to clean out her house, and Harry totally saved the day. He came in on a Friday, gave me a fair estimate on the furniture, and bought most of it. On Saturday, we had a yard sale and at the end of the day, Harry came by and offered us a blanket price for the things that didn't sell. He even loaned us tables for the yard sale. It was a life-saver to have his help. If you have a chance, go by his warehouse. It's floor-to-ceiling chock full of cool stuff. Give yourself time. There is SO much to see, and you'll want to browse. Great place, great guy. I'll never forget his kindness. read more

This place IS everything-yes, everything. There is almost certainly something you are looking for just because its a super hootenanny of second hand stuff. There is a warehouse full of furniture (nice stuff too, none of that crap from the '80's that everyone is trying to pawn off on you,) and everything else. Books, glassware, tools, clocks, you name it and I'm sure you'll find it here, if you dig hard enough and don't mind paying near retail value for it. The Gents running the place are great, they're friendly, helpful and according the Jenn J., generous and kind. If I need anything in the future I know I'll go here rather than any other place where I'm just rolling the dice on getting what I need and putting up with the occasional rude folk. read more

This store has everything its kind of hard to walk through it as you feel like a bull in a china store everywhere you turn so its alittle stressful amd overwhelming but super fun!!!! Its an adventure for sure the prices are reasonable and they will work with you on them as well. Great place to get lost for a couple hours so much under one roof! Would def go back again! A good old fashioned antique emporium. Row upon tiny row of stuffed in merchandise of all kinds. Everything you could imagine and more. Fun to look around and especially great if you are a collector of a certain item. They have so much it could take days to really look it all over. Definitely worth a stop! read more

I have shopped at Harry's for more than a decade and loved every moment. You can easily spend hours there. I've found everything from vintage cookie jars and cookware to turn of the century love seats and beautiful crystal bowls ,all of which adorn my home. Harry saved the day when I needed to move items quickly before selling a home, he was there took the items for a great price. You really never know what you'll find and that is the beauty of it! Pretty quiet, definitely more antique-oriented than thrift, although they do have a little bit of EVERYTHING (like yes, even slide projectors). I look for electronics and media, and they didn't have too much in the way of what I wanted, but I'll definitely check back in again sometime. They had lots of bric-a-brac and glassware. Lots of nice wood furniture, no upholstered furniture, which is a good thing though, you don't get that certain used item odor. While the items were all in good condition, I did feel like a spider could land on me while I was in there. The only drawback is they have too much for their space, and aisles are skinny, and lots of things were shoved behind furniture and wall art. Seriously, looking at almost anything forces you to move a painting or chair out of the way. No kids items or clothing (not a bad thing though). They had a lot of books but they were mostly books that should have been thrown out years ago, yellowed travel guides and stuff like that. They surprisingly had no vinyl, unless someone cleans them out of vinyl regularly. Almost no DVDs, and the VHS wasn't of particularly good quality either. Furniture/living room bits and bobs is definitely the focus here. Had a beautiful grandfather clock ($175) for pretty cheap I would have bought if I had the room. Lots of nice wall clocks too. Owner was friendly, definitely an old-timer hangout, what antique malls and flea markets used to be like before they got more cutthroat. They seem to have weekend auctions every week. Hopefully next time I decide to stop by they purge/reorganize some of their books, etc but I doubt it. read more
