I went to the Homeowners Association Meeting and stated that an inspection of property can only be done by a Vetted Person and a Reimbursable contract assigned to a Government agency. You do not have to pay this bill twice. An H.O.A is not a Government Agency. Government agencies are very territorial taking over the duties of the first Responder agency is near impossible. I also explained the facts of my case multiple times by email and phone. Despite that, important basic information about the property and my situation did not seem to be clearly understood or communicated internally. At one point, I was even called by the wrong name. That alone would not have been a major issue, but combined with everything else, it raised concerns about how carefully my case was being handled. Another major concern was transparency. During this process, I was communicating by phone and email with several different people at the firm, yet I could not find information about some of them on the firm's website. The website prominently presents Mr. Anthony Burton, so when I retained the firm, I naturally assumed he would have significant involvement in my case. Instead, I found myself communicating with other people whose roles, experience, and backgrounds were not clear to me. For a legal matter, especially a time-sensitive one, I believe clients should know exactly who is handling their case and what that person's qualifications and responsibilities are. Unfortunately, my experience did not give me the level of confidence I expected when hiring a law firm. I hope the firm improves its internal communication, transparency about its team, and the expectations it gives clients before they sign a retainer agreement.

So for him to say I needed a NH attorney (who would know nothing about CA RE law and Prop 13 law) was exactly the opposite of what I needed, and showed he was not exactly on top of things, either then or later in his response to the review. As for "I do not handle that type of law" in the review response, their web site lists "REAL ESTATE" as one of the areas of expertise for Attorney Michael K. Wolder. So I think there's more "confusion" here, too, either in the initial query response or the review response.
