My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our little girl dog (one dog, up to 50 lbs, is allowed to stay per room and cost $75 per stay) for two nights. Our room had a kitchenette, which includes 2 stove burners, one full size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave and of course a kitchen sink. We did utilize the stove and cooked most of our meals (please note that there is free breakfast provided at this hotel). There are pots and pans made available. There was only a set of 3 plates, bowls and glass cups and mugs. Inside the shower, there is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner on the wall, which I always appreciate. This hotel also has an indoor pool and gym on site. Checking into the hotel was fine. The employee who helped us friend friendly. And the same goes for when we checked out. We visited Mount Rushmore and also Theodore Roosevelt National Park while we stayed at this hotel. Overall, this was a nice hotel and would stay here again if visiting this area.

I've had larger one bedroom suites. The rooms don't have extra blankets, I went to the front desk asking for some, and was told staff would bring them to our room, they never did. Poor and uninviting service is enough to not make me come again.

When I asked for a room with just ONE queen-sized bed, they had one available. Best of all, the place is quiet! Also, they do have a privacy shade in the window for privacy and to block out light - unlike the hotel just walking distance away... Check-in was fast, no hidden fees and no surprise fees as check out. I'll definitely will be coming back.

Where Do I start?! I was there for 3 days for a conference. My rooms were supposed to be tax exempt…read moreas I work for a government entity. I gave the front desk my tax exempt form upon checking in and they gave it back and told me that they would take that upon checking out. ok, no big deal. (Back to that later). An elderly couple and I got stuck in the elevator, it just quit, lost all power. After about 5 minutes the power came back on and we were able to return to the main floor. I went to the front desk to report it. The gentleman at the desk did not seem too concerned and said he would report it. After speaking with a few other conference goers I was informed there was an out of order sign on the 4th floor, but not any others.....make sense to you? The floor in my room had not been cleaned as there was debris all over it and the counter was sticky. Not sure when the toilet had been used last, but whomever it was should have flushed twice...If you get my meaning! :( Upon waking up the next morning I discovered my coffee pot did not work. Then after grabbing the hair dryer and my hand sticking to the nasty thing I discovered that this was not working either! I asked twice that day to get replacements for the coffee pot and the hair dryer.....the next day I called down to the desk once again and was told they would see if they could find one. I was there for 3 nights and never got them replaced and the floor was never cleaned. Back to the tax-exempt issue. Upon checking out I gave them my tax-exempt form and was informed that the manager would have to do that and she was not in yet. So this review is 2 1/2 weeks later and after numerous calls the issue has still not been resolved. I was never able to speak with the manager because she was either on another call, not available or not in yet, but was told they would relay the message and she would call me back. FINALLY today after me calling and waiting on hold about 15 minutes I was able to speak with the very rude and confrontational manager. She said I was supposed to email them the tax exempt form before I check in, that was their policy. How can a person do that if they were never informed of the policy? She said once the credit card had been charged, she was not able to reverse the charge...I call bull sh*t. After more "discussion" on this with her I was told she would have to look into it and would call me back......ya, like I am going to hold my breath for that to happen. Ever wonder what has happened to customer service?..... Well, you definitely won't find it at this hotel. Oh also, the conference room floors were dirty also.

After driving 12 hours straight, the night clerk refused to check us in. She stated she "had to do actual work," yet she did not perform any task. She stood still, stared at me, and made us wait over 30 minutes in the car for no legitimate reason. This was not a delay -- it was intentional disregard for a paying guest. Later, a staff member spoke negatively about me loudly in the hallway, close enough for me to hear every word. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he responded with aggression instead of addressing the employee's behavior. This is unacceptable conduct for anyone in a customer‑facing role and demonstrates a serious lack of training and professionalism. I was also charged a pet fee even though the hotel's own guest directory clearly states "No pet fees." Charging fees that contradict written policy is misleading and raises consumer‑protection concerns. The breakfast policy was equally unreasonable. Despite limited breakfast hours and a refrigerator in the room, I was told I would be charged an additional $50 if I took food back to my room. This fee is not posted anywhere and appears to be an arbitrary verbal threat rather than an actual policy. The toaster in the breakfast area had missing or disabled safety functions and repeatedly burned food, creating a clear safety hazard. This location failed at every basic standard: professionalism, safety, transparency, and respect for guests. The combination of staff misconduct, aggressive management, contradictory fees, and unsafe equipment makes this hotel a risk for anyone expecting a safe and honest stay. I strongly advise future guests to be aware of these issues before booking
